Konstantinos, Milos

4.3 (3 reviews) · Mid-Range
Modern Cycladic-style hotel with sea views, comfortable rooms, a homemade breakfast, extensive gardens, and a children's play area

Overview

Ideal for travelers seeking a quieter setting, the family-run Konstantinos is situated on a residential hillside outside Milos' main port of Adamas, a four-minute drive (or 25-minute stroll) from the center. The 14 simple but comfortable rooms channel a contemporary Cycladic aesthetic, and all feature private balconies or terraces with sea or garden views. Guests can enjoy a homemade breakfast each morning (served under a pergola of grape vines in the garden), or borrow beach towels for the 10-minute walk to nearby Papikinou, a popular stretch of sandy beach and shallow waters.

Pros
  • You'll stay in a more residential setting in a quiet neighborhood outside Adamas, surrounded by gardens and greenery.
  • Rooms are comfortable and contemporary, all featuring large French doors, tile floors, and private terraces or balconies with views of the sea or garden.
  • A homemade breakfast is served on the terrace in warm weather, featuring eggs and produce from the gardens.
  • This is an ideal spot for families, and kids can enjoy the extensive gardens with swing sets and a mini soccer field.
Cons
  • It's a 25-minute walk into Adamas along a dirt road (sans sidewalks or lights), so you'll want to rent a car or scooter to get around easily.
  • The bathrooms in some units feel dated and small.

Authenticity

Konstantinos is named after its owners (you'll likely receive a warm welcome from "Kostas" upon arrival), and family-run warmth and service lend this small Cycladic-style hotel a little more character than the average contemporary stay. While the interiors are simple and neutral, the surrounding grounds and gardens, combined with sweeping views over the Bay of Adamas, make this an idyllic spot for travelers looking for a quieter base.

Location

You'll stay in the Perivolia neighborhood just outside Adamas (or Adamantas), the island's largest town and main port. It's a quiet, residential area with views across the island's volcanic bay, but the town center is a 25-minute walk along a dirt road, so you'll want to rent a car or a scooter to make the most of the location. The closest stretch of sand is Papikinou, about 10 minutes away on foot; famous beaches like Sarakiniko and Paleochori are all under 20 minutes away by car, and the pretty island capital of Plaka is a 12-minute drive north.

Rooms & Bathrooms

Fourteen air-conditioned rooms are spread across three floors, each with a sea or garden view and its own private terrace or balcony. All are relatively spacious, featuring a Cycladic-meets-Scandinavian aesthetic with pale neutral shades, pale wood furniture, cool tile floors, and large French doors that let in plenty of light. Superior units include a queen bed; Triple and Family options add extra singles and sofa beds. Bathrooms vary depending on the room type: some are recently renovated with dual showerheads, others have older, compact shower stalls. The ground floor units are the best options for guests with limited mobility, as the upper levels are only accessible via stairs.

Amenities

You won't find the amenities of a larger hotel here, but a home-cooked breakfast is served daily (for an additional fee), featuring ingredients sourced from the owners' gardens and free-range chickens. The property's extensive and well-manicured gardens are another perk, including areas to relax, swing sets, and even a mini soccer field for five-on-five matches. Staff are warm and helpful, going above and beyond for guests and always happy to provide extra beach towels or local tips.

Family-Friendliness

This is a great choice for families, particularly those traveling with a rental car. The spacious gardens include a swing set and a sports field with football nets, and the hotel offers a selection of board games and puzzles for indoor fun. The best option for larger groups is the Family Room, which can accommodate up to four people between one queen bed, one single bed, and one sofa bed. Cribs are also available for infants.

Service is friendly and personal, exemplified when the owner went out of his way to return a lost room key, adding a warm, welcoming touch to the stay.
