Summer Trip to Rome and the Amalfi coast

A couple visited Italy in July 2017

“We are planning a week trip to Italy from July 4 to July 11. Starting with a day in Rome and then to the Amalfi coast, we will end up in Naples on day three. We'll take the ferry to Palermo and will spend two days in Sicily to see Palermo and Agrigento. Still deciding if we are going to rent a car. We are fans of Montalbano, which has interested us in Sicily, but we are wary of running around un-accompanied.

We are both fit (mid 40s and early 50s) but live in Vermont so the heat may be a bit of a challenge. I'm interested in agriculture, cultural sites and my husband is interested in seeing the tourist sites and towns. I have been to Italy when I was 19 but my husband has never been.”

Traveler Review

Overall the hotels were excellent and the trip-planning advice was spot-on. I was thinking of renting a car in Amalfi but was VERY glad I did not! Great job.

One hotel was not great, since it provided little in the way of service. We wished we had a guide in Pompeii. I'm sure I'm the one who didn't want it, but it would have been good to have one.
