We were so thankful we used KimKim to help us plan and schedule everything for our family to have stress-free trip in a country where we barely spoke the language. The owners were very nice and helpful. Always asking if we needed anything. We stayed in a multi-room suite with a kitchen so it was nice for all 4 of us to be together. Only negative was that it was further out of town, but the view was great! And it was only 5000 pesos to take a taxi to town.

Boat Tour to Balmaceda & Serrano Glaciers

It was fun to see the glacier but it is a LONG day on a boat. The lunch at the ranch took 2.5 hours and the food was only okay. By the time we got there we were very hungry and just wanted to be served immediately rather than everything slowly served. Also, it was weird that some people got a cheese board snack on the boat and we didn't-I guess their hotel sent the snack.

We had an amazing trip to Chile (Santiago , Atacama and Patagonia area) this December. Fransisco had organized our trip very well. He was very good in communicating with us right from the start and keeping us informed about our trip including a detailed packing list. Our local specialist Angel was super nice and very helpful. Same with Jose who was our local specialist at Puerto Natales.
The trips was very well organized and timed. We had an amazing trip. I would definitely travel with them again. Thank you very much!!

Wow!! What an AMAZING trip we had to Chile!! Angel was the absolute BEST in helping us plan our incredible itinerary to Santiago, Patagonia and Easter Island. This hotel has the BEST views and scenery in all of Patagonia. That’s why you stay here. It’s located on its own little island that includes a short hike to the top of a hill to get the most stunning views of the mountains. The food was just okay and kind of expensive, but that’s true of all of the accommodations in the park. The staff were kind and helpful. The WiFi only works in the common area which includes a large lounge upstairs with beautiful views of the landscape and mountains.

A well-organized compact trip to Patagonia and Santiago. Fransisco, our tour organizer's arrangements were detailed and his instructions were accurate. His and local support along the trip whenever we had hiccups was particularly impressive. Our activities were great, and the local guides were wonderful. Jimena helped us to make true our dreamt honeymoon. She helped us to make the most of our days in the region based on our preferences and requests. We did not have to worry about anything during those days, just being on time. Special shout out to Rodrigo our guide in Ushuaia who made those days extra special.

Tamer, Riwal, Angel and the entire team were outstanding to work with from beginning to end. Our goal was to visit 2-3 regions of Chile within only 9 days. The team added and subtracted from our itinerary until the details were 100%. We were able to enjoy time in the city (Santiago), the desert (San Pedro de Atacama) and the coast (Valparaiso and Vina del Mar) which each offered their own unique aspects of this amazing country. The transportation was always reliable and comfortable for our group of 7. Our excursions provided the right balance of adventure and culture without ever having concern for our safety. Accommodations were purposefully selected to match our desired comfort level, proximity to attractions and price point. The team made sure to add all the extra special touches we needed on this trip including Vegetarian meals and making my daughter's birthday celebration memorable. This trip was not for her birthday but rather her birthday was celebrated while we were there. The day of her birthday was planned with activities that kept her in mind and the team even gave her a sweet gift. Pro-tip: ask to visit wineries that also have animals. It's a win-win for the adults and the children. The Kimkim team members were professional, kind, sincere, accommodating and made us feel like we were part of "the family". We would love to return to Chile and if we do, we will 100% ask for this team to help us again. We're also planning to use Kimkim as we plan trips to other areas as well.

The hotel does not have laundry machines. This was problematic for us since we had just arrived from the desert and the majority of our clothes were dirty. They do offer a pricey laundry service but unfortunately my clothes came back in worse shape than I sent them. A black sweatshirt was returned covered in little white balls indicating that it was clearly washed with a load of white towels. :(

No frills accommodations that are unique and clean (almost like Yurt Camping). Easy walk down the dirt road to town. Grocery store close by at the corner. Expect the pool to be cold, the shower temperature to be variable and the breakfast to be good enough. The geyers were one of our favorite aspects of our entire visit to Chile. Breathtaking panoramic views of the Andes Mountains and volcanoes. This excursion also includes a stop at a lake that inhabits hundreds of flamingoes! It was so cool to see them in their natural habitat.

There were some in our group that did not enjoy the hiking in the heat. That said, it was definitely a unique and beautiful experience. It feels like you are visiting a planet from Star Wars!

The sunset as not as great as we anticipated. The minute the sun dropped behind the mountains, we were asked to pack up and leave. In our experience, the best part of sunsets can come several minutes after the sun drops as it lights up the sky. We didn't get to see that on this trip. If we return, we'll just plan to do the sunset on our own so we can stay and enjoy for as long as we'd like. We do understand that the tours need to promptly return to town to prepare for their Stargazing Tours which begin after sunset.

What an adorable little winery and farm. This excursion was enjoyed by adults and children alike. The sheep, chickens and dogs were highly entertaining. Gorgeous scenery and super friendly staff. They had just opened to the public when we were there in November but I have no doubt that they are going to succeed and grow.

José Luis Miguel was a great driver and tour guide who had a wonderful positive attitude and shared relevant information with us.

Angel did a great job of both agreeing an exciting itinerary with us, planning all the details and then communicating with us while we were on the holiday. The highlight was all the details around our visit to Torres de Paine - where he was able to plan ice trekking, boat trip, night in a refuge followed by night in a high end hotel with the iconic hike to the base of Torres de Paine at the end. It all went super smoothly as he had made sure we had good guides, had planned the time well and ensured it had the right level of adventure and comfort for us.

We also got a good mixture of time to explore on our own and planned activities, and he'd planned our bike tour around Lake LLanquihui well to be at the right effort level! Whenever we had questions or issues he was super quick to respond and was always knowledgeable and helpful.

Many things were not made clear during this trip. While everything was perfect from the local company Route360 in St Pedro de Atacama, arriving there and leaving from there to go back to Santiago was not very well organized.
First, no one explained us what to do in the morning we left Santiago. The driver came to pick us up from the hotel, but he knew nothing. We arrived at the airport to fly to Calama, but without any instructions and no one speaks English to explain where to go, what line to take, what register. Anyway, we were left by ourselves.
Same, even worst happen on the morning from the hotel in St Pedro to the airport. It was not clear who will pick us up from the hotel, what time and where. The hotel knew nothing. The itinerary says that the pick up will be confirmed one day in advance, but no one confirmed anything until 2 am, 3 hours before. So we had to stay whole night and wonder what will happen and will we be picked up.
The worst of all is the WhatsUp notification. The company uses Whatsup, but for every useful message from them we receive 100 spam messages, and who knows which is good and which is not. Searching through the spam to see whether we received any message became a day-long activity for both my wife and me. No serious company communicates with its clients through Whatsup. In fact, we deleted Whatsup from our phones 4 years ago for the same reason: the huge amount of spam we get from the USA
In overall, we are dissatisfied with how Kimkim organizes their trips

My husband and I had a fantastic 16 days in Chile thanks to KimKim’s thoughtful planning and operations teams. We loved the itinerary that was put together, the activities and knowledgeable guides that were arranged, and have already recommended KimKim (and their Chile travel partner ResponsibleTravelSA) to friends and family.

Itinerary : 16 days in Chile (4 nights in Atacaman, 1 night in Punta Arenas, 1 night in Puerto Natales, 4 nights in Patagonia, 3 nights in Easter island, 3 nights in Santiago) at the end of October 2024

The KimKim platform - very impressive ! Good/clean design, easy to navigate and the initial questionnaire where we could list our interests was very helpful for Tamer & team to lay out a draft itinerary which we then worked with Riwal to refine and finalize. The final itinerary in PDF is wonderfully thorough and detailed, it had every info we needed about our trip, we loved this ! The team even sent a Packing list before the trip. Would be great to have a KimKim app!

The team of Tamer B, Riwal, Angel, Gabriela are knowledgeable, experienced, thoughtful, patient and very responsive. Jose Luis, the travel agent for the Patagonia portion of the trip was very knowledgeable and accommodating and did a fabulous job.

My husband Vikram and I decided to head to Chile on Oct 22nd and reached out to the KimKim team on Oct 1st! Despite the short time to plan, the team went above and beyond to not only flawlessly plan a memorable trip but stayed in touch with us via WhatsApp throughout the trip answering our many questions with immense patience.

Riwal was someone we interacted with the most during the planning stage and he’s awesome - we loved how knowledgeable, patient, meticulous and thoughtful he is. He was also very kind to suggest all the internal flights we needed to book carefully listing the flight numbers and times, this was really helpful. He then brought in Angel, Gabriela to the conversations. Angel is very well versed with the details on the ground and he was also our guide during our first day in Santiago where he took us on a market tour for a few hours. We absolutely loved our market tour with Angel - he is so easy to talk to, extremely knowledgeable and kind and we learnt so much in that short span of a few hours with him. He also very thoughtfully arranged for lunch at a lovely vegan restaurant after the tour, since I’m vegan.

Atacaman desert :
Truly stunning and a must visit, the team had arranged for small group tours to several places over the 4 days including an Astro tour to see the night sky, flamingoes etc. All the guides were very knowledgeable especially Christian. The AstroTour was fabulous and the guides knowledgeable and fun. We even had a photo shoot with a professional against the backdrop of the Milky Way.
The small group tours were charming and typically include an impressive outdoor breakfast (they even take skillets and make omelettes outdoors !) and an equally impressive end to the tour with a cocktail celebration (Pisco Sour, assortment of snacks). But many tours start early (6 am) as they have to pick up the other folks and then have the outdoor breakfast before we actually head to the destination. So if you are short on time or need more flexibility in the schedule and pickup time, a private tour would be better.

Punta Arenas :
Unfortunately when we landed in Punta Arenas there was heavy wind and so all expeditions to Magdalena island to see the Penguins were canceled. We then got in touch with the local travel agent Jose Luis who was wonderful and accommodating and we asked that our bus tickets to Puerto Natales be moved up so we could reach Patagonia sooner. Jose Luis was great to work with and coordinated all the details on the ground for the Patagonia portion of our trip.
We loved our little adventurous hike to Base Torres which we split over 2 days camping at Chileno midway and the team did an amazing job in arranging a knowledgeable private guide Matias for the Torres Del Paine trek. The premium Chileno campsite was great too, we weren’t sure how it would be given the cold weather but the tent (and mattress/sleeping bag) were very comfortable. We were prepared with warm thermal wear, gloves, beanie. We had also taken a foldable LED lantern which was useful. The KimKim team had communicated to the Chileno campsite folks that I’m a vegan so every meal for me was specially prepared vegan (including desert !) which was very thoughtful. We even saw a puma walk across the road in front of our car as we were driving back from Las Torres to our hotel which was a highlight of our trip !!

Easter Island :
We spent 3 nights in Easter Island which we loved despite a long 6 hour flight to get there.
We had an indigenous Rapa Nui guide Steven who was quite a character but we enjoyed learning about his culture and all the stories he shared, passed down the generations - it was an extremely knowledgeable and a memorable tour with him. His passion to share about his Rapa Nui people and culture, authenticity shone through and we loved it despite his eccentricities :) It was not a boring guidebook tour.

The local tour company at Easter Island Rapa Nui Travel was very good too and the main lady who picked us up from the airport and drove us to the Kari Kari show etc (fabulous show, worth going to!) was wonderful.

Nice hotel, great location, safe to walk around. The corner rooms have great views of the Andes!
The staff were very nice and allowed us to use the spa shower and gave us towels etc when we checked in early (as the room was not yet ready)

- Noi Casa Atacama (Atacaman)
Very nice hotel, great staff, 5-7 min walk to the Main Street where there are tons of shops and restaurants

- Hotel Cabo de Hornos (Punta Arenas)

It was delicious and made with utmost love, they went out of their way to make vegan food for me, including serving vegan oatmilk. One of the days they were out of vegan milk to make a desert but went out of their way to buy it and then make me a desert. The love and care at this boutique hotel is outstanding - it was a home away from home for us.

While all the hotels suggested by KimKim were good, we worked with the team to make a couple of hotel and room upgrades based on our preferences.

All in all, a memorable trip and we’d HIGHLY recommend using KimKim travel.

Our local specialist, Jesse, did a wonderful job throughout! She was receptive to our ideas, chose locations and excursions that matched our interests, and was flexible and patient as we worked out the details for two couples--one pair of native Chilenos and one pair of English-speaking US citizens. She was available for last minute questions late at night and early in the morning. We felt well-taken care of the whole time. In terms of our experiences, our stay at Hotel Las Torres Patagonia was a splurge but was well worth it. The location inside the park was extraordinary, the rooms and food were exceptional, and the folks who worked there could not have been more welcoming. Two excursions stand out in our minds as experiences we will never forget. The first was the boat trip to Isla Magdalena to see the penguin colony there. Jesse reserved VIP tickets for us, which gave us an opportunity for good views, a nice snack, and personalized information from Guillermo, a guide from Fiordos del Sur. Another memorable tour was the day we spent hiking from Sarmiento to Amarga Lagoon in Torres del Paine National Park. Our guide, Pedro, with Patagonia Planet was fantastic! We appreciated his ability to speak both Spanish and English, the tour van with big windows that offered all of us a great view, and his patience and knowledge in answering the million questions we asked about the flora, fauna, geological features, and cultural history of the park. This trip really was the adventure of a lifetime, and we could not be more appreciative of the services Kimkim offered!

The hotel is certainly pricey, but its location in the park was well worth the money. We could walk out the front door and immediately start trekking. Penguin Colony on Magdalena Island

Seeing penguins up close was amazing! Although all visitors to the island are required to stay on the paved path, we never felt herded or rushed. The walk was self-paced, and a number of guides were spread out during the walk to answer questions and give more information.

The guide, Guillermo, who was assigned to the upper deck, set up a big map that helped us to visualize where we were and what made that route on the Straits of Magellan so special.

Safety was a primary concern of the staff, which we appreciated. The seating was comfortable, and the big windows allowed us to have clear views as we travelled.

Full-Day Tour of Torres del Paine National Park & Surroundings

This trip was disappointing. Our tour was for just the four of us, but the small SUV we rode in required that one of us sit up front with the driver, while the other three sat in the back, with someone in the middle seat. Not ideal for looking out the windows, which was a big part of this driving tour. Two of us were native Spanish speakers with good English, and two of us were native English speakers who know a little Spanish. Our guide was fluent in Spanish, but his English was definitely not fluent. The result was that he spent 90% of the time conversing with the Chileans, and much less time talking with the English speakers. It was frustrating when we had questions. That being said, we visited some beautiful parts of the park, places we never would have seen if we had been driving on our own.

Full disclosure: The day we took this tour could not have been wetter. It poured rain the whole time, and everyone on the boat was soaking wet before we were finished. It limited the views of this incredibly scenic place. The windows were steamed up, and most people never went out on the decks because it was raining so hard.

Everything. We stopped at an "estancia" for lunch. It seemed more like an event venue, a giant room filled with tables. The wait staff was insufficient for the number of people they were trying to serve. We waited forever to be served, making the lunch take hours. The food was poor. The specialty of the house--lamb--was dry and overcooked. What a disappointment! We would have preferred to have skipped this part of the experience altogether.

There was little in terms of a guide. The narration came over a loud speaker, and because of the noise level of conversation on our deck, we could hardly hear what was being said.

Lo único que falló, fue el auto que nos fue a buscar a Pta. Arenas, no era para 4 pasajeros, viajamos apretados y algo incomodos. El guía aunque muy amable y servicial no tenía dominio del inglés lo que dificultó conocer los lugares visitados. Esto se hizo más evidente cuando nos tocó un guía muy instruido y con dominio de inglés en el último día de en Pto. Natales.

Jesse did a fantastic job coordinating my trip. It was easy to communicate with her in advance of the trip. When I got in country, everything ran smoothly. All of the guides and drivers showed up as expected in the right location and on time, the excursions were a lot of fun, and the hotels were as expected. I had no reason to be in contact with her while in country, which is exactly what one would hope to be the case. My only recommendation would be to let the traveler know in advance of the formal entry requirements/forms for Easter Island. I learned through the LATAM website that I needed some special documentation for Easter Island. That made me a little nervous and would have been niceto know in advance. Aside from that, flawless!

I had a fantastic time in Chile and was given huge amounts of reassurance from having local people who I could access via Whatsapp throughout my trip. As a woman travelling on my own in South America I felt safe and organised. There were a couple of hiccups but these were resolved quickly by the team who were prompt in their responses and professional. I generally organise my own trips but I didn't have time on this occasion and I was pleasantly surprised by what I could fit in by handing the responsibility over to someone else!

I have nothing but FANTSTIC things to say about KimKim, Responsible Travel, and the entire team that helped us plan and bring to life an amazing trip to Chile. The KimKim platform is excellent for communicating and planning travel; Both Tamir and Cami were super responsive during the planning process, filled with suggestions and advice about what to see and do during our time in Chile. Once we arrived in Santiago, we were met by our extraordinary guide, Angel, our on-the-ground local expert resource and friend. Angel was incredibly welcoming, knowledgable, flexible and creative in his approach to sharing his country and culture with us. He was very responsive to our needs, and totally game for unusual requests (like a mid-winter swim in the ocean!). We had four weeks of travel in Chile, and things went very, very smoothly; KimKim dealt with all the bookings (lodging, transport, tours), and Angel and the KimKim team were always there for us to answer questions or provide us with additional information. Santiago was the base out of which we traveled, so we were able to connect with Angel throughout our time in Chile. Angel is, quite simply, a fantastic guide, and he’s now a good friend. We look forward to returning to Chile and reconnecting with him!

Communication breakdown led to us not being informed about tour cancellation because of sky cover. Tour went the following day. Beautiful time in the desert, moon was bright so star-gazing was just OK.

Overall a great experience - our guides Javier, Manuel, Angel & Jenny were a lot of fun! We learned alot and were able to pack in a lot of great experiences in a short amount of time. Chile is a beautiful country!

I had the most wonderful 6-day trip organised by Francisco via KimKim. As a solo traveller, I was a bit nervous, but Fransisco ensured I had a safe, action-packed trip through Chile and Bolivia. All logistics were taken care of. The tours were great, with guides who spoke English. The driver was safe when touring through Bolivia.

I would definitely refer my friends/family to Francisco for help in planning their trip in South America!
