Our grandmother's/granddaughters trip to Italy exceeded expectations. All elements of the plan curated and refined by Erica and Diliana flowed smoothly without any major glitches. Our guide for the Coliseum, Mirta, was knowledgeable and provided a lot of background. Oksana, our Vatican guide, had lots of inside info, although I feel we literally ran thru the Vatican museum. I somehow thought we were going to St. Peter's Basilica, but it was not part of the tour.
The train rides were supremely comfortable and we had no problems finding our car and seats due to the detailed info Kimkim provided.
Our Pompei excursion with Vincenzo was particularly fun for me because so much more has been unearthed since my last visit.
Our cooking classes with Lily in Rome and Leonardo in Florence were particularly fun for the girls. They learned a lot and we had delicious meals to boot.
Daniela, our guide in Florence, was excellent and highlighted and explained some of the pertinent history that makes Florence so unique.
Rita guided us in Venice, a magical city if there ever was one. She made the narrow passageways seem not so daunting and definitely hit the highlights. Gianmarco took us to Burano and Murano and explained why these islands are so special. He was patient and kind even when we were late getting back to the boat.
All our accomodations were clean, safe, and very well located. It made getting around these crowded places pretty easy to navigate especially with the embedded links to maps.
Diliana, Erica, and Grant all checked in during the trip to see if things were going smoothly and it was comforting to know they were only a text away and response time was almost instantaneous.
I must say I was quite nervous before the trip that all guides and drivers were where they should be at the right time and I shouldn't have worried.
Thanks, Kimkim for your attention to detail and excellent and thoughtful planning. I have already been recommending Kimkim to others and will continue to do so. You have provided my granddaughters with fantastic memories.

Palermo in general seemed a bit shabby ( a lot of trash everywhere) The food tour was fantastic , Our guide Angelo was wonderful and very funny.
Cefalu and Hotel Kalura were an absolute dream.
Tripani- on-street parking was challenging. Hotel Gancia - water was no potable!! Never encountered that before.
Castelemare del Golfo was very pretty and we loved our hotel. Parking was a challenge.

We had the most amazing trip organised by Caterina and the KimKim team, highlights were Lake Garda, Bologna and Sorrento, however the entire trip was fantastic.

One of the highlights of our trip was the incredible drivers assigned to us in each location. We often had the same driver for multiple days, which allowed us to build a real connection and get to know each other. We spent many hours with them each day, and they became so much more than transportation providers. They shared stories about their families, their culture, and their lives in Italy, making our experience feel authentic and personal. They were also wonderful guides in their own right, telling us about the history and traditions of the places we traveled through.
Our drivers and guides were always friendly, helpful, and willing to customize our days whenever possible. When we wanted to make changes during the trip or add more time to explore certain areas, Fabio was always available and quickly helped make those adjustments happen. His flexibility allowed us to see even more and enjoy our time without stress.
This was a once-in-a-lifetime anniversary trip, and KimKim helped make it truly unforgettable. We are so grateful to Fabio, our guides, and our drivers for creating such a memorable and personal Italian adventure. I had an outstanding experience with Kim Kim Travel consultant Melanie. From the very beginning she was professional knowledgeable and attentive to every detail of our trip she took the time to understand my preferences and created a travel plan that exceeded my expectations.

Her recommendations for accommodations transportation and activities were excellent and she was always available to answer questions provided assistance. Example we were 10 minutes late to our boat in Capri I called her she said wait a minute then she called the captain and they came back and got us. Second example we were at the Vatican we had a private tour with a gentleman named Rich and he asked how good we were with stairs, my husband said fine I said I don’t know. Without saying a word he tested us out and knew I wasn’t good at stairs without saying a word he took the no. stairs route Rich called Melanie and told her that I was not good at stairs. Anita did a fantastic job at planning and arranging our trip to Italy! It has been a lifelong dream for my Mom and I to visit where my grandfather was born in Italy. Everything went amazingly from the private drivers to the incredible guides throughout Naples, Sorrento, and Rossano. Our day on a private boat on the Amalfi coast was one of the highlights with the gorgeous views of the cliffs and swimming in beautiful blue waters. Spending the day with our private guide, Enza, in Scala Coeli was so special. We were able to see original documents of my grandfather's birth certificate and my great grandparents' marriage certificate. We also had a local person show us around the village including where my grandfather was born. The places we stayed were perfect with beautiful views in Sorrento and Rossano. We had a private large balcony on Sorrento with views of the mountains all around. This was such a meaningful experience for me and my Mom that we will carry with us for a lifetime. This was also the second time I have used Kim Kim to create a great trip from me, and I could not more highly recommend them!

While our guide changed several times, there seemed to be a smooth transition to the next person. When we had questions or needed assistance the guides were quick to reply, and helpful. Setting up our rental car and accommodations was excellent. We didn't use the service for too many excursions other than a guided bike and hike which were both excellent. We stayed in three different places over just over two weeks. Accommodations were all excellent. We didn't really care for our first town, Lake Garda but enjoyed Lake Iseo, and loved the Dolomites.

If you're a travel advisor collaborating with a multi-generational family on a stay in Tuscany and/or the Amalfi Coast, you owe it to yourself to reach out to Italy Charme (Melanie is my go-to there) to have as your in-country partner. They go above and beyond to make sure clients experience Italy like a local! No question I (or any of my clients' 1000s ;)) had was too difficult (or dumb) for them to assist me -- making me look like the expert in the US with my expert partners in-country in Italy. We had worked on this itinerary for over 6 months, and Melanie (and the rest of the team at Italy Charme) allowed me to breathe a sigh of relief, even while my clients (family of 10, ages 3 to 85) were going from one villa to the next . . . and all the little towns worth seeing in between. I wouldn't hesitate to collaborate with Melanie and her team at Italy Charme with future client requests in Italy!

This was my second client trip in Italy, where I was able to collaborate with Melanie and her team at Italy Charme. Her (and their) assistance in helping me understand the intricacies of the two destinations that I wasn't that familiar with (Palermo/Sicily, and Puglia) was how it started, and their care for my clients during their entire time in Southern Italy-- even changing tours at the last minute-- was the icing on the cake for how they made us look like Rock Stars to our shared clients. They even assisted me with snags that neither of us could have planned for (caused by the clients) without creating more chaos or issues. All of the guides were so nice and knowledgeable. We especially enjoyed our time with Marco during our visit to lake Cuomo. Even though it was super crowded Marco was able to get us on and off the boat in a very efficient manner he also modified our train trip for us because of an unanticipated delay which was a very clever way to help us enjoy the most for our time there. Marco went above and beyond, he even found us an exclusive restaurant with beautiful views. This was an amazing tour and we will always remember the hospitality that Marco gave us and a real flavor for the local culture!

We especially enjoyed our Milan experience where the driver for my daughter came back to the hotel to deliver her her passport that she left in the car! Grazie mile!!!! The hotel the Square Milano Duomowas also extremely comfortable and welcoming they even let my daughter check in before me without her passport.

When we arrived we entered the hallway and someone came and closed the large doors behind us. The experience was in the upper most floor of a building that had to be accessed by ringing the doorbell. Everything with KimKim from start to finish was fantastic! From the first time I posed my ideas to the actual execution of the trip, I felt heard and supported. They planned the perfect out-of-the-way three day excursion to Cefalu and Cerda (my grandfather's birthplace) before we transferred to Taormina. Not too many people choose Cerda as a destination, so KimKim arranged for a hotel in Cefalu and tours in the city/surrounding area. We took a sunset boat cruise with Sealand Tours which was fantastic because of the captain and his wife; they were so welcoming and fun! We went to meet a manna producer on the top of a mountain which we all loved WAY more than we expected! We had no idea what manna was or why it was a notable stop, but all of that changed once we met Mario. Madonie Explorers did a great job joining with Sealand and Mario. Storywalkingtours was our in-country contact and they answered every question and request in a timely manner and gave us an overview of each day the night before, which was so helpful.

I can't say enough positive things about our experience because of everyone involved in planning it. I 100% recommend everyone I just mentioned for top-notch planning and communication.

This hotel is not only at a perfect location right down the street from all of the restaurants and bars, but it was a little oasis on its own. The rooms are a bit smaller than we are used to in America; however it was very comfortable, clean, and well-appointed. Everyone on the staff was pleasant and eager to help us. They were also very patient with our broken Italian! There are multiple outdoor areas for lounging, there is a rooftop bar with an infinity-edge pool overlooking downtown Cefalu, and live piano music in the lobby a few nights a week. The beach is literally across the street, it's in a quiet location, and is a five-minute walk to the start of the bars and restaurants.

Mario is on of 18 manna producers left in the world and learning about the process on the top of a mountain was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Once we got to the top, we saw his "office" which is a collection of ash trees (manna sap) olive trees, and almond trees. We learned about his ability to graph various trees and his deep knowledge of manna harvesting. Even though the manna was not being harvested when we visited, we got to try some from the season before!

This was one of our favorite activities of the trip! Captain Alex and his wife Melinda (ex-pat from Indiana) were so friendly, welcoming, and fun! As we went along the coast of Cefalu, Melinda gave us some of the history, pointed out landmarks, and gave us some of the inside scoop on the real estate and hotels. As we anchored for the sunset, they brought out food and drinks for aperitivo with a perfectly-paired playlist. We waved goodbye to the sun as it set on the horizon and got to see Cefalu in a whole new light on the way back.

We had a very flexible itinerary with one pre-arranged event and it worked out really well for us as we could adjust as we needed to to fit our schedule and energy level (after having just come off an organized tour). Rita did a great job putting it all together. We didn't get to stay in one hotel location but the team was proactive in quickly getting us another accommodation before our arrival. We were especially appreciative of having contacts while we traveled to address things or answer questions if needed. We were also very appreciative of parking suggestions and mapped locations for the towns we visited.
