We had a truly memorable time in Cambodia and Vietnam. As I am travel writer and travel blogger, I carefully evaluated every aspect of our trip.

We had amazing service from Dat throughout the planning stages. He was cognizant of our needs and met all our requests. He was also in contact with us during the trip and responded to two text messages we left him despite the time difference. We were really impressed with his expertise, knowledge and suggestions.We were delighted and very surprised that Dat was even able to add a couple of excursions that we requested him to handle when we were actually on the trip. We will certainly recommend Dat to all future travelers. He was just terrific.

We were only disappointed about one thing: when we requested Dat to make the airline check-in baggage payment on our behalf with the promise that we would reimburse him (as we were unable to do it online for technical reasons), he never responded to us at all. A simple No on his part would have sufficed and we would not have been kept hanging. Fortunately, we were able, eventually, to handle the matter on our own, but we do wish he had conveyed his thoughts to us on this issue (even if it would have involved a refusal because Kimkim does not handle international airline bookings).

We loved the hotels, the lavish breakfasts, the polite and efficient services of the pick-up staff and drivers everywhere. However, I do need to say that we had a very hard time understanding what the guides were saying. Either their English was too poor or their accents were too heavy. I do to know if you are able to vet and approve of the guides or not; but we lost out on a whole lot of commentary because the majority of our guides were sub-standard. Yes, they were helpful and obliging, but their verbal communication was very disappointing. We were happy that we had carried a lot of photocopied material with us from our own guide books and this information supplemented the meagre commentary we received from our guides.

All said, our trip was memorable and most enjoyable. For all these reasons, we will continue to use Kimkim for all our travel needs in the future and will also recommend your company warmly to everyone who wishes to travel. Many thanks for all your assistance. You made our travels in Cambodia and Vietnam a real pleasure and completely trouble-free.

Did not appeal too much. Not really much to see, other than the boat ride on the Tonle Sap River.

We traveled in April from North to South. I was trying to miss crowds, have fewest rain days, and coordinate with our Indonesia trip in May. We had a heat snap when we reached Hue that lasted three days. It was 102; the average in April is typically 85. I enjoyed our entire trip. 30 days allowed us to have many experiences and not be rushed.

We booked our trip prior to Covid and had to reschedule a number of times. This contributed to the problems we had booking this trip and getting confirmation. It was frustrating to not have final information until days before we departed.

We loved all our guides: Quynh, My, Viet, Quy, and Hoang. Each of them was outstanding in contacting the next guide and passing on information about the kinds of activities we enjoyed. They were great at tailoring our travel experience. We would have loved to have spent one more day in Hanoi with Quynh, he was a wealth of knowledge. We loved the home visit with Dao. Viet kept us busy with great experiences in art, food, and local culture. Quy provided us with great directions and information so we could navigate Nha Trang and Da Lat on our own. And Hoang was amazingly knowledgeable about the Nam Cat Tien National Park, which we really appreciated.

Notes I made that I would suggest my friends change if they book a trip, (I've already given the information to 6 people): In the future, I would not buy any pre-arranged lunch or dinner. Every hotel offers breakfast. You can always ask your guide for local favorites or recommendations at lunch stops. I prefer ordering off the menu or having the guide order for me with some guidelines like, I don’t need a 7 course meal for lunch.

I would be move forceful in getting all the information earlier. We didn't have time to research our hotels as the information provided by the travel company, Sens Asia, was so late in getting to us.

I would not take another night train the rest of my life. Almost 8 hours to train from Hanoi to Sa Pa, 5.5 hrs to drive. Train, one toilet for about 40 people in a train car and no one seems to be able to pee in the toilet. Noisy, a number of stops, uncomfortable, plastic, non-breathing bed. Totally not doing this ever again.

Loved the boardwalk and town. The hotel location was great. The hotel itself was the 2nd poorest accommodations on the trip and the staff was uninspiring. A shame to go from Rosa Alba to Ibis. Ibis is a hotel you stay at when you are 20 and can’t afford anything else. I wouldn't stay at this hotel.

I didn’t expect worse accommodations but this was it. The hotel is very noisy, that is an understatement. It is conveniently located but you won’t get any sleep. The breakfast was awful. We switched to the Du Parc, a wonderful hotel. Absolutely quiet. Good staff. We should have stayed here two nights and not at Da Lat Ttc.

Loved this experience. I recommend this if you don’t mind the tent accommodations, being in the forest, and having a few less options for food. Hoang did a great job showing us around the park.

Ho Chi Minh Silverland Yen Hotel
Okay, I wouldn’t stay here again. Breakfast was okay, not great. Accommodations were just okay. The location is good, close to a large market, close to the lake, close to the ocean. Loved the city and the sightseeing we did. The old post office, Temple of Enlightenment, Landmark 81 (the tower), boardwalk. The hotel, find something better.

Thanks to everyone who helped make our trip memorable. I would change a few things, mostly hotel accommodations, but the sightseeing, activities, experiences were fantastic.

Our guides, Dan, Quyen and Johnny, were all fantastic. We loved how much time we were able to spend interacting with local people. From staying at home stays to eating at homes to cooking lessons to learning to make fishing nets, we were exposed to so much local culture. This was a trip of a life time and our 4 teenagers were thoroughly engaged for our 15 days in Vietnam.
Kimkim and our guides did a tremendous job keeping our son with food allergies safe. We could not have done this on our own.

Dat was incredibly responsive as we were planning the trip, as we went through 4 iterations before settling on a final itinerary. And during the trip when there was a hiccup, he was quick to be responsive and made mid trip adjustments. He was clear about all that was included and set us up with fantastic hotels and guides. We learned so much about Vietnam and the wonderful people who live there.

Hien facilitated an excellent trip, exactly what I was after! Nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was lovely, and the arranged day trips/tours hit all the highlights I had wanted to see. Everything was arranged, which just made it so easy and enjoyable, especially for a relatively short trip in which I wanted to see a lot. Huge shout out to Cuong, who was my guide for several days. Had a fantastic time, and would definitely recommend.

From being picked up from my Hanoi hotel to start my northern adventure .My driver Tu and guide Hoang treated me as a new friend.The trip to Sapa ,Bac ha,Mu Canchai,Nghialo,Mai Chau ,Pu Luong,Ninh Binh,Haiphong finishing with a night on a La Casta Regal cruise on lan ha bay went smoothly.Hoangs ability to answer all my questions and to inspire me to trek on a daily basis.At the end of each trek our ever reliable driver Tu would be waiting for us.

Our 8 day trip to Vietnam was an action packed adventure. We got to do a tour of Hanoi, an overnight cruise in Ha Long Bay, a trip to Hoi An and to spend a few nights in Ho Chin Mhin. We found our quides Cuong, Ly and Tony to be very personable and friendly and very informative. The Pandora cruise ship had a very high standard of accommodation. My advice to anyone with children who may be fussy eaters to bring some food staples like bread etc as there isn’t much alternative choices to the Vietnamese food on board the cruise. I thought the Vietnamese food provided was of high standard and loved the cookery demonstration on board. The accommodations chosen in Hanoi ( Somerset Grand Hanoi) , Hoi An ( Riverside resort and Spa) and Ho Chin Mhin were very suitable for a family of 5 and we were happy with them overall. The breakfast facility in the Somerset Chancellor Court in Ho Chin Mhin was not great although the 3 bedroom apartment itself was spacious and very comfortable. I found the whole trip very good, the highlights for me were the visit to the Ethnology museum in Hanoi, the Hoi A memories show, the Cu chi tunnels and the war museum in Ho Chin Mhin. Dat worked with us and provided us with the tailor made itinerary. He provided short notice assistance when we needed it which was a great reassurance to us. The transfers and pick ups were always on time and of very high standard. Overall we were very happy with our KimKim experience and we would use them again.

Thanks to our guide HA on the hike to Fanispan mountain. I would recommend him to every hiker. Extremely helpful and patient. The whole organization by Kimkim was excellent!!!

Trang was our travel agent and went above and beyond. She took care of our Visas when we couldn't get them to go through the system. She also helped us when Air France screwed up our luggage on the way home.
Our local guide was Huy and our driver Chong. Huy was very knowledgeable and spoke fluent English. We requested a different/specific hotel in cat ba and it ended up being the only negative experience we had. Trang and Huy knew better. We should have listened to their recommendations. Having Chong and Huy with us the whole 9 days made for such an easy adventure. They did a great job! I would highly recommend them.

The tourguide Garvin was a very hardworking, warm and detailed person who offered great hospitality and introduction to Ha Noi and Vietnam.
It was amazing to visit local market, interact with local family and learn to make rick cake. 😍

We had an amazing time in Vietnam, thanks to kimkim.
The reservation services and the options offered at the beginning matched and exceeded our expectations.
Everything went smoothly, transportation, internal flights, private transfers, the bus and the boat.
The experiences such as kayak, cruise, cycling into the towns, and boats were breathtaking. The nature and the cities are vibrant and rich in culture, history and wild landscapes.
A special thanks goes to our first and favorite guide Mr Binh, Mr Binh was outstanding and super passionate about what he does, you can see and feel his love for the country. He teached us a lot of what he knew, made us feel safe and welcome. The adventures with him are something we will always bring with us. We want to give the highest rating possible to him, he really made a big difference in our trip. The transfer guy (we don't remember the name sorry!) who was with us and Mr Binh during our trip was also very polite and gentle, we enjoyed his driving skills and company. The second guide Mr Huan was also very pleasant and prepared on Hue's history. We enjoyed his tales, stories and anecdotes. The driver together with Mr Huan was also very nice, we enjoyed the music he was playing and he was very courteous. Hue's history is full of wonders and we were glad to get a bite. So far the experience was amazing. Minh was always present for us, thanks to Minh we never felt alone and if something was happening he was on top of it. He was sending us messages to let us know flights/details or anything really. Top evaluation for him, not sure how much is the maximum but he deserves it!
The third guide, unfortunately, was not at the same level as the first two... we don't want to ruin his reputation or bad mouth him, however, we did not really enjoy the time with him for different reasons. On the other hand, the places where we went and the activities kept being amazing. So overall the experience with kim kim is a 4,9 stars out of 5!

Over all the experince surpassed our expectations. It was a great trip.

All the local guides and drivers were excellent. A special thanks to Long who put the itinerary together and checked in with me each day to see how the day went and to prepare me for the next day. Long was on top of everything. He's also so courteous. I would recommend Long and Kim Kim to anyone looking to travel to Vietnam.

I was very nervous about booking through an online company, as I have travelled before with well known companies. From the moment Dat contacted me, and asked what we wanted to do, his suggestions were all fantastic, and we nervously booked through him, on Version 6 of his planning. We were relieved when we landed in Vietnam, and there was someone with my name on a board waiting….then this happened every flight, or even day tour guides etc…they were all there waiting for us, usually about 10 minutes early on each day. I could highly recommend Dat to anyone wanting to travel to Vietnam…he didn’t miss a thing…I just hope he gets paid well, because we did spend a lot on tipping all his guides and drivers that he had booked, so hoping he does get rewarded for his wonderful work.

Once again a great experience, if I have to be honest, we didn’t love the local singers performing in their home, as it was all in Vietnamese and we couldn’t understand what they were singing etc.. The bike ride itself was good…very interesting life on the island…even funnier for us was seeing the ferry how we got over to island. Then we had a great cooking demonstration back at the lodge.

We found the Vietnamese people so lovely, even though we struggled with some accents!

All transport was a wonderful minivan for the four of us.

First off, our main point of contact, Long Pham, representing Realistic Asia and Kimkim did an amazing job planning our trip to Vietnam and Thailand. He was in contact with us everyday during our trip checking in on us and he made sure that all of our needs were met and made himself available at any hour to assist us. This was top-notch service that we were not expecting, but greatly appreciated as we always felt secure on next steps and where/who we were meeting throughout the trip. He really did care and it showed.

All of our local guides were amazing as well. 95% of our tours were private and each guide went out of their way to show us the "local" take and they really wanted us to enjoy our time and get the most out of our trip. Being from the United States, we were not used to such high level of service for such a reasonable cost pf the trip. I've never met so many people that legitimately cared about our experience and frequently went above and beyond to make our trip special. We will be using kimkim again for future trips.

We had a wonderful trip to Vietnam and Cambodia - all thanks to Dat and his team. We started planning the trip late and did not have enough time to research and manage everything by ourselves and that's why we started looking for Kimkim's service. And they have delivered!
Each moving part from the itinerary - from the cab pickup to the local tour guide to the accommodations and different recommendations were all to the point and as per expectations and we were able to relax and enjoy the trip. Not once were we stranded anywhere waiting for our ride or contact. We had excellent stays at all the hotels too.
When we had specific plans for a day, they helped us manage that as well.
Special mention to our guide in Da Nang, Mr. Tuan, who went above and beyond and came late evening to take my husband to the local hospital when he fell sick. Thank you, Tuan!

We had a spectacular trip in Vietnam. Dat, our planning specialist, meticulously planned every detail based on our desired itinerary...even down to anticipating an extended hotel stay due to our late flight plans. His responsiveness extended to being available for calls while we were in Vietnam.
