Take your time exploring Greece by bike, horse, kayak, and much more on this 23-day adventure. You'll pedal along the shores of the Athenian Riviera and learn traditional fishing techniques on the Saronic Gulf before heading for the Cyclades. There, you'll learn to surf on Tinos and go scuba diving on Naxos before making your way to Crete for some hiking, cooking, and beach time. Finally, travel back to the mainland for a visit to some fascinating historical sites at Sounion, Mycenae, and Nafplio.
Depending on your preferences, here are a few choices:
- Kolimbithra Beach. This is a favorite amongst locals for windsurfing. It's set in a picturesque cove with fluffy golden sand. If you like a lot of sun and wave taming, head here!
Apigania Beach. Enjoy golden sands and turquoise waters on this calm, east-facing beach. With less wind and fewer waves, it's an excellent choice for snorkeling. To get to this beach, you'll need to walk along a short path, which keeps it quieter and much less crowded than its neighbors.
Agios Romanos Beach. Just next to Apigania, this beach is also located on the calmer eastern coast, so you'll enjoy protection from the winds. However, it attracts a larger crowd, thanks to its amenities. You'll find a few cafes and hotels here.
Agia Thalassa Beach. This is a beautiful beach that's quiet and secluded. If you're looking for peace and lots of space for yourself, this is a great option. The beach is a bit more pebbly, but you'll find pockets of shade to relax and listen to the waves.
- Kionia Beach. Kionia offers the best of both worlds: long stretches of fluffy sand and important Greek history. Right next to the beach is the Sanctuary of Poseidon, where you'll find an archeological site featuring the remains of a temple, ancient baths, an altar, and a fountain.
- Agios Sostis, Laouti Bay, and Agios Ioannis Porto. These are the kid-friendliest beaches. You will find family-friendly taverns, sunbeds, and umbrellas, calm weather, and sand.
