Enjoy an easy hike to the scenic Nymph's Spring with a local guide.

Overview

Enjoy an easy hike to the scenic Nymph's Spring with a local guide. After getting to know your group, you'll warm up your body with a few easy exercises or yoga moves. Then, you'll follow a slight incline along a stream near the village of Salakos. During the entire trek, enjoy the soothing sound of rushing water flowing from the mountains.

You'll soon reach the Valley of the Butterflies, home to some rare species that congregate on tree trunks and the sides of the river gorge. Then, pass the ruins of an old hydroelectric plant as you make your way toward the Profitis Ilias Monastery, dedicated to the Prophet Elijah. You can visit both the monastery and the ruins of an old villa built by a close friend and associate of Mussolini. As you walk around, enjoy unbroken views of Rhodes Island and the glittering Aegean Sea.

As you start to descend from Profitis Ilias, stop to visit the chapel devoted to Archangel Michael. Then, follow a winding path to Nymph’s Spring, dedicated to the forest nymphs. Stop here to eat lunch, rest, and enjoy the views of Kamiros Beach. Before returning to Rhodes Town, you'll transfer by mini-bus to explore the ancient city of Kamiros ruins.
