Relaxed hotel near the beach with two outdoor pools, a restaurant, a spa, and a cycling center

Overview

Hoposa Uyal is just across the street from Pollensa's long, sandy beach. When not enjoying the sea, guests have access to numerous amenities, including two outdoor pools, a garden with sun loungers and sunbeds, two terraces, and a spa with a sauna, massage menu, gym, and cycling center. The restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating and a bar and lounge. Rooms are a bit dated, but many offer sea views and outdoor spaces.

Pros
  • The hotel's original building was once a grand mansion, so you'll notice elegant features like stone archways and balconies, marble floors, and beamed ceilings.
  • You can relax in the outdoor lounge areas, which feature wooden furniture with cushy seating, including sofas, sunloungers, sunbeds, and chairs.
  • There's a freshwater outdoor pool next to a colder plunge pool, plus a relaxing spot for adults with a smaller pool and comfy sunbeds.
  • You can also relax in warmer water in the spa, with a few other amenities, like a sauna, leisure room, massage menu, cycling center, and gym.
  • Enjoy dinner at the on-site restaurant, which has an elegant dining room, terrace, lounge, and bar.
Cons
  • Most common areas have a stylish or modern design, but the rooms fall short with simple, outdated furniture and bedding.
  • The spa is a nice amenity to have, but this one is very barebones and doesn't offer that relaxing environment one might expect.

Authenticity

You'll find Hoposa Uyal housed in a traditional Mallorcan mansion with lots of charming elements, like marble floors, arches, and vaults, a grand staircase, an elegant dining room with chandeliers, and wood-beamed ceilings in the lobby. It's a nice way to experience the island's history while also being near its biggest draw, the beach.

Location

Hoposa Hotel Uyal is a decent beachfront choice, as it's just across the street from the area's main stretch of fluffy sand. You'll find a few restaurants in the area, though the center of the Port of Pollença is about a 20-minute walk and filled with even more eateries and bars. A few hiking trails, including the one leading to the scenic Boquer valley and cove, are a quick 10-minute drive away. The main towns of Pollença and Alúdia are about 15 minutes away, and plan for a 50-minute drive to reach the airport in Palma.

Rooms & Bathrooms

Despite the grandiose building, the rooms feel pretty basic and simple, with outdated furnishings, bedding, and decor. All have air conditioning and modern bathrooms with showers and bathrobes. You can upgrade rooms for partial or complete sea views and balconies. But if you want extra space, a living room, and a large terrace with sun loungers, opt for a suite.

Other Highlights

Several outdoor spaces are perfect for relaxing, including the large freshwater outdoor pool, the smaller pool for adults in the garden, and two large terraces with wooden furniture, including sun loungers and sunbeds. You can also sit in the indoor lounge, enjoy the spa, exercise in the gym, and tune up your bike in the cycling center. In the evenings, the lounge is an excellent spot for a drink, and the on-site restaurant serves meals in the historic dining room with arched ceilings or on the terrace.
