We just returned from 8 days in Iceland that blew us away with the beauty of the country. We did many activities - lava tunnel tour, ice cave tour, whale watching, boating among the glaciers, helicopter tour. Each one was so exciting and elevated our experience with the “fire and ice” that is Iceland.
Emanuela at Arctic Travel put the whole trip together for us and was endlessly patient as we tried to plan the perfect trip. It worked! We started the trip with a visit to the blue lagoon and ended with a visit to the sky lagoon. Both great and would do it the same way again. Perhaps one of the biggest thrills was seeing the northern lights which we hadn’t expected as it was only end of Aug. but Sept 1 the lights were out in full and it was just the icing on a delicious cake.
Emanuela stayed in touch with us the whole trip and quickly dealt with a couple small issues so so could keep the trip going with just positive vibes.
Thomas was our tour guide and driver and he went out of his way many times to make our experience the best it could be. I would definitely recommend Kim Kim , Emanuela and Thomas. Perfect combination.

This tour deserves 10 stars. Our guide Rafal did an awesome job to plan the whole experience. We loved it but must admit that it was a private tour which I think was the right choice. If you are going to splurge on a tour, this is the one I would do private.

Our trip to Iceland was absolutely wonderful. Our excursions which included snorkeling, the Zodiac boat trip, white water rafting and the geothermal baths were all absolutely incredible! All of the excursion instructors were amazing!! Our trip planner, Othman was wonderful in seeing to all of our needs and interests!! Kim Kim was very good!! I will definitely use Kim Kim’s service again! We were extremely pleased!

We were very pleased with the itinerary, which allowed us to experience adventure and local culture on a pace that worked for us. Gummi was extremely responsive to all questions and made us feel valued, not only as customers but as individuals. We loved this trip so much, that we would contemplate returning and we would use Gummi’s advice again when we do so.

This was a six-day mother-daughter Icelandic adventure with two days in Reykjavik and four days of hiking, kayaking, and engaging with lava fields, waterfalls and glaciers. (Our hoped-for tour inside a volcano was cancelled last minute for maintenance--next time!) Once our Iceland specialist, Gummi, understood we were not spa people (no thank you, Blue Lagoon), he set us up with tours to fit our interests. The Reykjavik folklore tour was very good, and the food walk was fantastic. On our own, we found the volcano show at the Harpa, which was spectacular, and the "How to Become Icelandic in 60 minutes", also at the Harpa, which was okay. The rest of the tour was around the Golden Circle. We were self driving, and Gummi had told us to be sure to get the car rental people to help us set up the navigation. However, they refused to do so, so we had to figure it out on our own, and we did. The navigation proved to be fussy, sometimes working, sometimes not. It did cause frustration, and we were sometimes confused, but we were never really lost. The car rental people also gave us a fob which they said would get us a discount on gas, but we never figured how to use it. Gummi had promised to be only a phone call away if we had problems, and he was true to his word. (We probably should have asked him about the fob.) Our self-guided hiking and our scheduled excursions were all wonderful. We especially liked and ice cave and the kayaking among what I called "iceberglettes." Three of our hotels were lovely, the fourth taught us that six weeks out is not necessarily enough lead time for booking during high season. All in all, it was another good Kimkim experience for us.

We were sorry that the restaurant we liked best had only a 7 course tasting menu if we wanted to go there for dinner (we didn't want to eat that much!) but we were glad we got to sample some of it!

Overall, we were very happy with the itinerary that Gummi put together for us. We appreciated being able to provide feedback with Gummi's proposals and tweak what we wanted until we came up with a plan that met both our desires and budget. The provided packing list was spot on. We especially enjoyed the Lava Cave and Glacier Cave adventures. There were only two of the suggested stops that we didn't make - we forgot one and decided to shorten our drive on a rainy day.

We had some challenges using the Google Maps and WiFi with Car Play. We probably wouldn't recommend the hotel in Reykjavik as our first room was very small and parking was a challenge (they say they provide parking but it was street parking not the hotel's). It would have been good for Gummi to make it clear that we needed to be diligent to pay for parking no matter how short a time we were there (we got charged after the fact). In the end the only thing we wish we could have added was a visit to a smaller hot spring, maybe replacing a waterfall.

We are glad that we decided on a short stay at the Hotel Keflavik upon arrival and before heading to the Blue Lagoon. Being able to take a 4 hour nap made the rest of the day much more enjoyable. Gummi should be familiar with the Nap and Go program which I just happened to come across online.

Impeccable Organization: Every aspect of our journey was meticulously arranged, from the seamless car rental process right at Keflavík International Airport to the thoughtfully curated hotel bookings and restaurant suggestions throughout the trip. There was not a single hiccup with any reservation — each confirmation matched perfectly, check-ins were smooth, and the accommodations exceeded expectations in comfort and service. Our idiosyncratic requests, like a bathtub for one of our guests, were accommodated and taken care of; it would have taken hours for us to arrange all this, and even then, it would be anxiety-provoking about what we were actually going to get. Adam took all the anxiety out of the trip.

Thoughtful and Comprehensive Itinerary: The itinerary crafted by Adam made it easy to immerse ourselves in all the stunning natural beauty Iceland offers. Each day was carefully balanced: iconic sights like the Blue Lagoon, Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon were complemented by local experiences, hidden gems, and handpicked restaurants. We never felt rushed, yet every day was full of discovery, whether hiking to Svartifoss, admiring black sand beaches in Vík, or exploring the dramatic Snæfellsnes Peninsula.

Flexibility and Local Insights: Adam truly shone in his understanding of Iceland’s unique rhythm. Extra insurance options and practical advice (like checking the wifi device and using the Parka app) showcased a level of care that put us at ease. The itinerary included enough flexibility for spontaneous stops and local flavor, but also made sure we didn’t miss out on must-see experiences like the Zodiac boat tour on the glacier lagoon and whale watching in Olafsvik or going cave exploring in Vidgelmir.

Seamless Logistics and Personal Touch: From the first moment to the last, Adam @ Kimkim made us feel supported and informed, resulting in a worry-free experience. Directions were crystal-clear, driving plans and distances were provided for each segment, and suggestions for sightseeing and dining were always spot-on. We had very few quibbles with our trip. Even the smallest details, like museum recommendations or convenient parking tips, contributed to a flawless journey.

Conclusion: Adam delivered a superb, immersive, and beautifully choreographed tour of Iceland, allowing us to truly engage with the country’s landscapes, culture, and cuisine. With every detail so thoughtfully covered, all we had to do was enjoy the breathtaking wonders around us — and we will be raving about this trip for years to come. This was our first time using a travel specialist and we were a bit worried about the cost. However, when we realized all the hotel room costs (and breakfasts) and different activities, we realized that this was a very good decision in hindsight. While this is our first experience with Kimkim, it certainly will not be our last. We hope all their advisors are as helpful as Adam was.

Everything went very well except when we called to find out if there was a restaurant in our hotel before driving there. The receptionist didn’t know and we couldn’t wait for the answer. We ate in the town of Hella which was very good. A very small hiccup in our trip.

To review my experience with KimKim is my pleasure! From the first moment working with KimKim to a few days after the trip, and everything in between, was a great experience.The specialist that we worked with, Hanna, was outstanding. She was a great listener, didn't mind the tweaks we suggested, and even contacted us during the trip to say that she heard that our whale watching trip had been cancelled (not KimKim's fault) and that she was already working on the refund. Iceland was not originally on our "bucket list" but should have been. It is a beautiful country - landscapes we have never seen before. The coastline was stark and waveless, while the volcanic grassland was sparsely dotted with colorful farmhouses and steam vents. So beautiful and so different! From the rental car Hanna helped arrange, to the hotels, to the daily schedule - all were spot on! Thank you KimKim and Hanna for a wonderful trip! I will make sure that anyone I know who has a travel need that KimKim can assist with, I will strongly recommend you. Here's to working with you again!

Noga and Nick were both really easy to work with and so helpful. The trip was great and exhausting on 4 old ladies but we had a great time and the weather couldn't have been better. After our terrific late afternoon zodiac tour looked for a restaurant and the closest one we went to was already booked and weren't taking any more reservations. We did not get into a town that had any restaurant and the only gas station had closed their restaurant at 8pm. We arrived just after that time. On the next day we were 20 km from our hotel and we had no idea if it had dinner service so we found a place in town to eat, which was really nice, as we didn't want to take the chance of not having service and driving back to town and possibly missing a nice meal again. As it turned out when we got to the hotel, it did have dinner service.

The only recommendation is to ensure travelers where restaurants are and their hours. The hotels were very nice, especially the Landhotel.

Gummi planned a wonderful trip for me and my partner to Iceland! The schedule hit the major sites around the Ring Road without feeling too crowded or busy. Gummi's daily insights guided us to the best spots in each location. He selected great hotels, and it was awesome to have detailed driving directions for every day (particularly when the names are difficult for non-Icelanders!). We also really appreciated having restaurant recommendations for each stop.

There is such great comfort with a service like KimKim. When there was a minor snafu and I sent Gummi a WhatsApp message after 10pm, he immediately called me and handled it with the hotel clerk (in rapid-fire Icelandic!).

Overall, if you're thinking of visiting Iceland, you want Gummi directing your travels!!

We had such a wonderful experience working with Alisha on our Iceland trip! Everything was so thoughtfully planned, and we especially appreciated the clear driving directions that made exploring on our own easy and stress-free. The premium puffin tour was absolutely incredible, and the kayak on the glacier lagoon was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We also loved the hiking spots she recommended—especially Mulagljúfur Canyon, with its breathtaking views of waterfalls. The hotels she selected were top-notch and perfectly located, which made each stop along the way even more enjoyable. Alisha made the whole process smooth and enjoyable, and we’re so grateful for her expertise in creating such a memorable adventure!

The trip was very well planned with all the important Iceland highlights captured. The hotels chosen for us were wonderful and well located. Our local specialist, Gummi, was so responsive at all hours and was always available when we needed him. When our whale watching trip was canceled due to weather, he replanned the day and scheduled another whale watching trip for us on another day. I would highly recommend Gummi for assistance with your Iceland adventures! And I would use Kim Kim again for locations where I wanted to explore thoroughly. Well done!

The trip that Guðmundur Óli put together for us in Iceland was absolutely epic. We had a variety of experiences based on our requests and boy did it pay off. We experienced waterfalls, black beaches, hot springs, gorges with amazing views; and saw the puffins on the cliff's edge! I'm a puffin fan now! Really enjoyed the snowmobiling, kayaking and hiking on the glacier to ice cave. What an incredible experience. Saw wildlife along the way which was an added bonus to the trip. We averaged approximately 18K-20K steps per day and climbed to the highest points to get better vantage points along the ring road and south coast. Gummi arranged the best hotels and even provided excellent restaurant recommendations as well as an organized google map daily so we could follow the instruction and get to our destination in plenty of time. Gummi was always available to answer questions and add on additional excursions when requested. The overall experience with kimkim was great. All we needed to do was pack our bag, show up and follow the app. Can't beat that for the best vacation ever! Thank you for a great experience.

Parking is off site but easy to find with the Parka app. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby to choose from. Breakfast was downstair and easily accessible. The lagoon we kayaked on was beautiful with floating icebergs. There are a lot of activities going on at the same time, so a little bit of a traffic jam on the water. Gummi built us an awesome trip that included lots of things any firs time visitor to Iceland should do, while mostly keeping us out of tourist hell. Gummi was available for questions and to give tips/advice during our 9 day stay in Iceland as well. We particularly enjoyed driving through the Highlands on the F Roads and the snorkeling in the Silfra Fissure. We're usually big self planners for trips, but being that we only decided to go away for our anniversary about 2.5 months before the trip there was no time to plan it ourselves, and Gummi took all that stress away. A trip anywhere is all about balance, and I definitely think Gummi built out a quality itinerary that balanced seeing as much as possible without overbooking the days to the point that we were just running from place to place and could take our time if we found something we really wanted to see.

Sky Lagoon Experience - Saman

I think we actually preferred the Sky Lagoon over the Blue Lagoon. It wasn't as busy and felt much more calming and serene. Sky Lagoon provided a much more intimate and relaxing experience compared to the more touristy Blue Lagoon.

Great experience. The ride to the cave is its own adventure, especially the roller coaster. It's fun to walk on the glacier, view the cave, eat ice from the glacier. Our driver was friendly and knowledgeable.

Víðgelmir Lava Cave Experience

Iceland

A fun experience into the a lava tube. The guide was fun and informative with plenty of little jokes, but also a wealth of historical information about the tube. The complete darkness experience at the end was surreal.

Gummi provided us with a very detailed and appropriate itinerary for a family of four adults that wanted to drive the ring road on their first ever trip to iceland. We got to see the highlights of the golden circle and see the beauty of the East Fjords and the Northern Coast. If you are looking to go off of the beaten path, I would recommend going along the Northern Coast and to the East Fjords. We went to Blue Lagoon, Forest Lagoon and Sky Lagoon. All places are lovely and packed full of tourists. The Ring Road was a wonderful, one land drive around the entire country and through some very unique mountain passes and tunnels. Seeing the different views of the Oceans and Mountains of Iceland was incredible. Iceland has unique geology and geographic features. We most enjoyed the puffins, the ice cave and Diamond Beach.

Most valuable was Gummi’s detailed daily itinerary. It made logistics a breeze by setting out each activity, giving step by step travel instructions, and telling us how much time to allocate for each activity. He kept us on time when we needed it. Gummi was always accessible to answer questions and make changes on the fly.

And now for something completely different: He’s a Monty Python fan. Perfect for us!

Would highly recommend KimKim, especially if this is your first time to Iceland, and that too in a busy tourist season. You’ll have to do a lot of research to make up for the benefit of having a tour guide making trip plans for you. Hanna was amazing, very proactive and communicative, and took care of every bit of detail. You will often take longer than planned at every site, so do not jam it in. Enjoy the sights and experiences and you’ll have a lovely time!

Adam did an amazing job helping us plan this epic 11-day Iceland trip for our family of five! He accommodated our suggestions and requests and added in other stops and excursions that we would never have known about otherwise, but thoroughly enjoyed. The google maps each day were perfectly planned out and we hit almost every one of them! Adam was very responsive when we had questions or comments, even in the middle of our trip. There were only two very slight drawbacks. One of the five hotels we stayed in (for four of the 10 nights) was a very basic guesthouse with tiny rooms that had condensation on the walls/ceiling and a lot of wear and tear. Definitely not the caliber of the other hotels. Also, we were only booked for one night instead of two at our last hotel in Reykjavik, however the team was able to very quickly book us at another hotel only a block away for the second night in deluxe rooms. Overall, we had a fantastic experience using kimkim and would use them again for another trip!
