One of the very special things they arranged was a Super Jeep Tour where we went where most cars could not go to see the absolute splendor of Iceland. Our guide, Isaac, was friendly and very knowledgeable. His driving skills through rivers and streams and along muddy roads was excellent. I found I learned so much about Iceland's culture, history, and geography that would have been difficult to learn on my own. In the six days we were in Iceland, we explored the Golden Circle and the south eastern part of the country. It was a wonderful experience.

Hótel Rangá
Hella

Hotel Ranga, just outside of Hella, is in a stretch of southern Iceland where there is little around it except for cows and the distant mountains. However, it could compete with any other hotel in Iceland as being one of Iceland's best. The hotel had a western feel with the wood paneled floors and ceilings. The rooms were comfortable with excellent beds and duvets. Our room had a couch as well as a desk and chair. The three outdoor hot tubs were heavenly, even in the light rain that was falling when we were there. The service is wonderful and everyone who works there from the owner, Frederick, who greets you as you enter the restaurant, to the cleaning staff were friendly and accommodating. This included a wake-up call, if you wanted, if the northern lights could be seen. And the restaurant! The food was incredible. It would compete with any high end restaurant.

Thórsmörk Super Jeep Experience
Iceland

This is an experience not to miss. Our 8-hour trip on dirt, often muddy, roads, through rivers, and to places a car would have a difficult time going, was amazing. We saw the absolute beauty of souther Iceland. Our guide, Isaac, was friendly and knowledgeable. He talked with us about the culture, history, and geography of Iceland. I learned much more about Iceland that I would otherwise know and I left the trip with a sense of natural beauty that makes Iceland a very special place.

Her attention to detail was remarkable - nothing slipped through the cracks - and the level of care she put into tailoring the trip for us really stood out. On top of that, Lisbet was lightning-fast in responding to our questions and updates through the Kimkim messaging system, which made the whole planning process feel effortless and made us feel pretty special, and made us really trust her in the planning process!

Thanks to her, what could have been a stressful experience became enjoyable and exciting right from the start.

We recently used KimKim for the first time to map out an anniversary trip to Iceland. Never used the service before (but friends had), but given we’re both busy professionals with zero downtime and knew little about the country … we took a shot on using the service. Fantastic experience! Guòmudur Óli was our local guide and mapped out a perfectly curated trip based on our interests of Art, Food, Hiking & Scenery. We did/saw about 90% of the suggested items and he provided terrific restaurant choices (both casual lunch spots as well as fine dining). Hardly had to lift a finger except for a couple of dinner reservations. We even ran into a small snag with one of our reservations and he was all over it to ensure things were fixed and went smooth; like your own personal concierge! We plan to use KimKim again for future travel and if you get a chance to partner with Guòmudur (aka Gummi) on a trip to Iceland … do it!

Hotel Holt—The Art Hotel
Reykjavík

The art. The bar. The staff. All of it was superb! Top notch! Favorite stop on our journey in Iceland. Now … it is a bit older. But the beds were comfy and there was a bit of nostalgia in the place. Sitting in the bar with a handcrafted cocktail near the fireplace admiring the art made for a wonderful romantic moment. Highly recommend!

Authenticity & Character
This place oozes with character. Oozes! Loved it all.
Location
I liked that it was just a few blocks away from the hustle and bustle of downtown … but one can be right back in the middle of shopping in 3-4 blocks. Located in a bit quieter area which is nice.
Staff
Top notch, super friendly. Went above and beyond to ensure we had all of our needs taken care of.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Looks it’s a bit older place … but we were comfortable. Everything was clean. If you’re looking for pristine and modern, this isn’t the place to be. This is warm and cozy and filled to the brim with wonderful art and charm.

Glacier Ice Cave Experience
Glacier Ice Cave Experience
Iceland

Ok … first things first. Our guide (Martin) was terrific. Absolutely brilliant! Provided good education on the glacier and geography. He just nailed it and made the experience worth it. I’ve never walked on a glacier before so it was a nice experience to get up close and personal with one; scenery is pretty. Now, what you need to know is it’s about a 30-40 min drive to glacier (30-40 minute return as well). The hike is moderate, not difficult … saw all ages out there. However, you do need to be able to climb the equivalent of a few flights of stairs. The cave itself was a bit of a disappointment … more like a large ice cubby. It was interesting in the sense that you get to walk into a block of ice and see all the layers … but the hike in/out experience takes just about 60 minutes or so. I was expecting more of a spelunking experience … this is not that! And that may be exactly what you’re looking for … and, if so, you’ll be delighted.

Ciekawe miejsce, farma z miejscem noclegowym , pokoje nowiutkie czyściutkie i duże. Jedyny minus to ubogie śniadania (poza skyrem własnej roboty - był pyszny!), ale można by było postarać się o więcej warzyw czy innych śniadaniowych pozycji. We changed the size of our rental car just days before our trip and Noga and Nick were both very responsive within minutes of our request. Kimkim really felt like a concierge travel service because of their immediate response time with any questions that we had. The Kimkim app was extremely easy to use while planning the trip and also in Iceland. Our trip was fantastic! Our itinerary took us to so many extraordinary places while keeping in mind our stamina for each activity. For example, after a long overlong flight, our first activity was to a beautiful geothermal spa. Most days had much driving around the Ring Road, but there were stops along the way that left us awestruck. Our hotels were all very comfortable with 1001 Nott and the Glacier Lagoon hotels both being standout properties. Our tours were led by guides who were both extremely knowledgeable and also friendly and kind. Our Katla Cave and Glacier Walk tours were amazing. The tours physically challenged me but each of our guides took the time to personally help me. I would 1,000 percent recommend Kimkim to help navigate an amazing trip. It was a vacation that we will never forget!

Emanuela at Arctic Travel put the whole trip together for us and was endlessly patient as we tried to plan the perfect trip. It worked! We started the trip with a visit to the blue lagoon and ended with a visit to the sky lagoon. Both great and would do it the same way again. Perhaps one of the biggest thrills was seeing the northern lights which we hadn’t expected as it was only end of Aug. but Sept 1 the lights were out in full and it was just the icing on a delicious cake.
Emanuela stayed in touch with us the whole trip and quickly dealt with a couple small issues so so could keep the trip going with just positive vibes.
Thomas was our tour guide and driver and he went out of his way many times to make our experience the best it could be. I would definitely recommend Kim Kim , Emanuela and Thomas. Perfect combination.

This was a six-day mother-daughter Icelandic adventure with two days in Reykjavik and four days of hiking, kayaking, and engaging with lava fields, waterfalls and glaciers. (Our hoped-for tour inside a volcano was cancelled last minute for maintenance--next time!) Once our Iceland specialist, Gummi, understood we were not spa people (no thank you, Blue Lagoon), he set us up with tours to fit our interests. The Reykjavik folklore tour was very good, and the food walk was fantastic. On our own, we found the volcano show at the Harpa, which was spectacular, and the "How to Become Icelandic in 60 minutes", also at the Harpa, which was okay. The rest of the tour was around the Golden Circle. We were self driving, and Gummi had told us to be sure to get the car rental people to help us set up the navigation. However, they refused to do so, so we had to figure it out on our own, and we did. The navigation proved to be fussy, sometimes working, sometimes not. It did cause frustration, and we were sometimes confused, but we were never really lost. The car rental people also gave us a fob which they said would get us a discount on gas, but we never figured how to use it. Gummi had promised to be only a phone call away if we had problems, and he was true to his word. (We probably should have asked him about the fob.) Our self-guided hiking and our scheduled excursions were all wonderful. We especially liked and ice cave and the kayaking among what I called "iceberglettes." Three of our hotels were lovely, the fourth taught us that six weeks out is not necessarily enough lead time for booking during high season. All in all, it was another good Kimkim experience for us.

Don't worry, you were not charged for the Lava Tunnel Tour. Remember, we added it in the trip plan spontaneously on the same day because the Inside the Volcano tour was unfortunately cancelled at such short notice. However, when you decided to skip it, it was cancelled immediately.

I think there is a misunderstanding about the navigational system. What I mentioned several times was to have the car rental help you connect your phone to the mobile WiFi they provided you with, so you can access my driving maps on your phones.
Unfortunately, we don't have any control over the rental cars' navigational systems. The rental has thousands of cars, and it would be an impossibility for us, a 3rd party, to know any specifics of any car. The rental allocates cars at pickup, and as long as they are in the same category (or better) we have no say in what car you get. This is the same procedure as anywhere else in the world.
This is why I underline the importance of using the driving maps that I have made for you, and absolutely not to use the car's navigational system by inserting destinations manually. Another good reason not to do that is that there are places in Iceland that have the same names, and if you insert the destination yourself, you might end up in the wrong place. That is why I am very adamant that travelers use my driving maps and my driving maps only.
Likewise, the fob for the gas is something we have no knowledge of or control over, and neither do we include that service in our price.

But anyway, I am happy to read that overall the trip was a great success, despite a few hickups :)

All the best

Overall, we were very happy with the itinerary that Gummi put together for us. We appreciated being able to provide feedback with Gummi's proposals and tweak what we wanted until we came up with a plan that met both our desires and budget. The provided packing list was spot on. We especially enjoyed the Lava Cave and Glacier Cave adventures. There were only two of the suggested stops that we didn't make - we forgot one and decided to shorten our drive on a rainy day.

We had some challenges using the Google Maps and WiFi with Car Play. We probably wouldn't recommend the hotel in Reykjavik as our first room was very small and parking was a challenge (they say they provide parking but it was street parking not the hotel's). It would have been good for Gummi to make it clear that we needed to be diligent to pay for parking no matter how short a time we were there (we got charged after the fact). In the end the only thing we wish we could have added was a visit to a smaller hot spring, maybe replacing a waterfall.

We are glad that we decided on a short stay at the Hotel Keflavik upon arrival and before heading to the Blue Lagoon. Being able to take a 4 hour nap made the rest of the day much more enjoyable. Gummi should be familiar with the Nap and Go program which I just happened to come across online.

Adam's planning of our Iceland adventure was truly exceptional, exceeding expectations at every turn and demonstrating an unparalleled attention to detail.

Impeccable Organization: Every aspect of our journey was meticulously arranged, from the seamless car rental process right at Keflavík International Airport to the thoughtfully curated hotel bookings and restaurant suggestions throughout the trip. There was not a single hiccup with any reservation — each confirmation matched perfectly, check-ins were smooth, and the accommodations exceeded expectations in comfort and service. Our idiosyncratic requests, like a bathtub for one of our guests, were accommodated and taken care of; it would have taken hours for us to arrange all this, and even then, it would be anxiety-provoking about what we were actually going to get. Adam took all the anxiety out of the trip.

Thoughtful and Comprehensive Itinerary: The itinerary crafted by Adam made it easy to immerse ourselves in all the stunning natural beauty Iceland offers. Each day was carefully balanced: iconic sights like the Blue Lagoon, Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon were complemented by local experiences, hidden gems, and handpicked restaurants. We never felt rushed, yet every day was full of discovery, whether hiking to Svartifoss, admiring black sand beaches in Vík, or exploring the dramatic Snæfellsnes Peninsula.

Flexibility and Local Insights: Adam truly shone in his understanding of Iceland’s unique rhythm. Extra insurance options and practical advice (like checking the wifi device and using the Parka app) showcased a level of care that put us at ease. The itinerary included enough flexibility for spontaneous stops and local flavor, but also made sure we didn’t miss out on must-see experiences like the Zodiac boat tour on the glacier lagoon and whale watching in Olafsvik or going cave exploring in Vidgelmir.

Seamless Logistics and Personal Touch: From the first moment to the last, Adam @ Kimkim made us feel supported and informed, resulting in a worry-free experience. Directions were crystal-clear, driving plans and distances were provided for each segment, and suggestions for sightseeing and dining were always spot-on. We had very few quibbles with our trip. Even the smallest details, like museum recommendations or convenient parking tips, contributed to a flawless journey.

Conclusion: Adam delivered a superb, immersive, and beautifully choreographed tour of Iceland, allowing us to truly engage with the country’s landscapes, culture, and cuisine. With every detail so thoughtfully covered, all we had to do was enjoy the breathtaking wonders around us — and we will be raving about this trip for years to come. This was our first time using a travel specialist and we were a bit worried about the cost. However, when we realized all the hotel room costs (and breakfasts) and different activities, we realized that this was a very good decision in hindsight. While this is our first experience with Kimkim, it certainly will not be our last. We hope all their advisors are as helpful as Adam was.

She was a great listener, didn't mind the tweaks we suggested, and even contacted us during the trip to say that she heard that our whale watching trip had been cancelled (not KimKim's fault) and that she was already working on the refund. Iceland was not originally on our "bucket list" but should have been. It is a beautiful country - landscapes we have never seen before. The coastline was stark and waveless, while the volcanic grassland was sparsely dotted with colorful farmhouses and steam vents. So beautiful and so different! From the rental car Hanna helped arrange, to the hotels, to the daily schedule - all were spot on! Thank you KimKim and Hanna for a wonderful trip! I will make sure that anyone I know who has a travel need that KimKim can assist with, I will strongly recommend you. Here's to working with you again!

After our terrific late afternoon zodiac tour looked for a restaurant and the closest one we went to was already booked and weren't taking any more reservations. We did not get into a town that had any restaurant and the only gas station had closed their restaurant at 8pm. We arrived just after that time. On the next day we were 20 km from our hotel and we had no idea if it had dinner service so we found a place in town to eat, which was really nice, as we didn't want to take the chance of not having service and driving back to town and possibly missing a nice meal again. As it turned out when we got to the hotel, it did have dinner service.

The only recommendation is to ensure travelers where restaurants are and their hours. The hotels were very nice, especially the Landhotel.
