From being picked up from my Hanoi hotel to start my northern adventure .My driver Tu and guide Hoang treated me as a new friend.The trip to Sapa ,Bac ha,Mu Canchai,Nghialo,Mai Chau ,Pu Luong,Ninh Binh,Haiphong finishing with a night on a La Casta Regal cruise on lan ha bay went smoothly.Hoangs ability to answer all my questions and to inspire me to trek on a daily basis.At the end of each trek... I particularly loved the homestays.The welcome from the whole family and sharing our evening meal together was a wonderful experience. So many highlights Bac Ha horse races and market,Mu Can Chai birthday celebrations and walking in Ninh Binh to name a few.
Trang also contacted me while on the trip to make sure I was enjoying myself

Our 8 day trip to Vietnam was an action packed adventure. We got to do a tour of Hanoi, an overnight cruise in Ha Long Bay, a trip to Hoi An and to spend a few nights in Ho Chin Mhin. We found our quides Cuong, Ly and Tony to be very personable and friendly and very informative. The Pandora cruise ship had a very high standard of accommodation. Our 8 day trip to Vietnam was an action packed adventure. We got to do a tour of Hanoi, an overnight cruise in Ha Long Bay, a trip to Hoi An and to spend a few nights in Ho Chin Mhin. We found our quides Cuong, Ly and Tony to be very personable and friendly and very informative. The Pandora cruise ship had a very high standard of accommodation. My advice to anyone with children who may be fussy eaters to bring some food staples like bread etc as there isn’t much alternative choices to the Vietnamese food on board the cruise. I thought the Vietnamese food provided was of high standard and loved the cookery demonstration on board. The accommodations chosen in Hanoi ( Somerset Grand Hanoi) , Hoi An ( Riverside resort and Spa) and Ho Chin Mhin were very suitable for a family of 5 and we were happy with them overall. The breakfast facility in the Somerset Chancellor Court in Ho Chin Mhin was not great although the 3 bedroom apartment itself was spacious and very comfortable. I found the whole trip very good, the highlights for me were the visit to the Ethnology museum in Hanoi, the Hoi A memories show, the Cu chi tunnels and the war museum in Ho Chin Mhin. Dat worked with us and provided us with the tailor made itinerary. He provided short notice assistance when we needed it which was a great reassurance to us. The transfers and pick ups were always on time and of very high standard. Overall we were very happy with our KimKim experience and we would use them again.

3 bedroom Apartment was spacious and very comfortable. Shop on ground floor. We didn’t get a chance to try out swimming pool and gym. Breakfast provided by adjacent diner on ground floor was not to the same high standard as the apartment.

Trang was our travel agent and went above and beyond. She took care of our Visas when we couldn't get them to go through the system. She also helped us when Air France screwed up our luggage on the way home.
Our local guide was Huy and our driver Chong. Huy was very knowledgeable and spoke fluent English. We requested a different/specific hotel in cat ba and it ended up being the only negative experience we had. Trang and Huy knew better. We should have listened to their... Read more

Peridot is a beautiful hotel. The staff treated us very well and the front desk spoke very good English. They wouldn't let us check in early to shower after our 36 hours of travel but they did let us go to the spa to shower and get ready for our day. Silk path was very beautiful and clean but the view is the city of Sapa, not really the mountains. It is within walking distance to town, which is great. There's nothing to do at the resort at night. The room is here is so fun. You feel like you're in a cabin in the middle of the jungle . There was a small private pool right outside our room as well as a bigger one where the restaurant is. This place is gorgeous. We were not impressed with the service here though. We waited a very long time at the restaurant, despite being only a few tables. The staff seems uninterested in being there and mostly socialized amongst themselves. The food was not very good.

5 star resort that made me bring my own luggage up, safe was broken and waited in room for an hour for some one to come swap out. Out of towels at the pool, no place to get food after check in (3pm-5pm), AC in room struggles to keep up, hardest mattress I've ever slept on, big round bright light turns on randomly all night long, rain shower head not positioned over the flat part of the tub, no wash clothes, very long waits for food and food regularly wrong or not good, appeared to be short staffed despite not very busy, wild unsupervised kids even at the pool bar, nothing to do in the evening, no live music, no shows, karaoke only private rooms, sky bar filled with children and closes at 1030pm Positives- most beautiful resort I've ever stayed in. Clean and so beautiful. This hotel was put on our agenda by my request and should not be held against Trang. She had us at a different place. This hotel has SO much potential. It is incredible... if only the services and mattress were better.

A special thanks goes to our first and favorite guide Mr Binh, Mr Binh was outstanding and super passionate about what he does, you can see and feel his love for the country. He teached us a lot of what he knew, made us feel safe and welcome. The adventures with him are something we will always bring with us. We want to give the highest rating possible to him, he really made a big difference in our trip. The transfer guy (we don't remember the name sorry!) who was with us and Mr Binh during our trip was also very polite and gentle, we enjoyed his driving skills and company. The second guide Mr Huan was also very pleasant and prepared on Hue's history. We enjoyed his tales, stories and anecdotes. The driver together with Mr Huan was also very nice, we enjoyed the music he was playing and he was very courteous. Hue's history is full of wonders and we were glad to get a bite. So far the experience was amazing. Minh was always present for us, thanks to Minh we never felt alone and if something was happening he was on top of it. He was sending us messages to let us know flights/details or anything really. Top evaluation for him, not sure how much is the maximum but he deserves it!
The third guide, unfortunately, was not at the same level as the first two... we don't want to ruin his reputation or bad mouth him, however, we did not really enjoy the time with him for different reasons. On the other hand, the places where we went and the activities kept being amazing. So overall the experience with kim kim is a 4,9 stars out of 5!

Once again a great experience, if I have to be honest, we didn’t love the local singers performing in their home, as it was all in Vietnamese and we couldn’t understand what they were singing etc.. The bike ride itself was good…very interesting life on the island…even funnier for us was seeing the ferry how we got over to island. Then we had a great cooking demonstration back at the lodge.

All of our local guides were amazing as well. 95% of our tours were private and each guide went out of their way to show us the "local" take and they really wanted us to enjoy our time and get the most out of our trip. Being from the United States, we were not used to such high level of service for such a reasonable cost pf the trip. I've never met so many people that legitimately cared about our experience and frequently went above and beyond to make our trip special. We will be using kimkim again for future trips.

This hotel was top-notch and we really enjoyed our stay. They found out ot was my birthday and surprised me with a very nice setup in our room and even a cake! The staff even wished me a happy birthday as we were leaving out room and it felt very special. They also knew all the best local spots for food and drinks and we will be coming back again next time we are visiting Vietnam and Hoi An.

Each moving part from the itinerary - from the cab pickup to the local tour guide to the accommodations and different recommendations were all to the point and as per expectations and we were able to relax and enjoy the trip. Not once were we stranded anywhere waiting for our ride or contact. We had excellent stays at all the hotels too.
When we had specific plans for a day, they helped us manage that as well.
Special mention to our guide in Da Nang, Mr. Tuan, who went above and beyond and came late evening to take my husband to the local hospital when he fell sick. Thank you, Tuan!
Dat, please accept our hearty thanks for helping us manage this trip in a short timeframe without much hitches. We will be using Kimkim's services again.

We had a spectacular trip in Vietnam. Dat, our planning specialist, meticulously planned every detail based on our desired itinerary...even down to anticipating an extended hotel stay due to our late flight plans. His responsiveness extended to being available for calls while we were in Vietnam. Homestay is a comfortable walking distance from the centre of Sapa. Through rice fields and a couple of local villages where you get a close up look at life in the Sapa Valley

This was a family homestay where we were made to feel very welcome.

The outdoor undercover area and dining room were clean and comfortable, as was the bedroom and bathroom.

I want to thank all of my guides who made this trip so wonderful, starting with the fabulous Ms Hay who showed me secret places in Hanoi and surroundings, followed by the mountaineer Mrs Lala in Sapa and Victor the cruise guy in Ha Long bay.
Mr Minh who took me on a food tour in the magical town of Hoi An and Mr Hays Vietnamese cooking class, a must for every visitor. Another highlight, the Cu Chi Tunnels & Ho Chi Minh City Tour with Ms Han and the day trip to the Mekong Delta with Ms Linh. You should not miss the Saigon Vespa tour after dark... super exciting, and I was so lucky to have Ms Linh at my side, we always had a pool position at the traffic lights ;-). Last but not least, Mrs Marada in Siem Reap, Cambodia, who had an answer to any question you asked her about the magical place of Angkor Wat and its surrounding temples.
I also have to mention all of our drivers who always drove carefully, and all of the cars were in perfect condition.
And of course, not to forget kimkim.com... I love the concept and will always come back to book further trips with you!
