Location

Situated just outside the city center of La Fortuna, Hotel Arenal Montechiari is a quick and convenient 6-minute stroll to the downtown city center, where you can explore bars, shops, and various restaurants. Though the hotel doesn't offer a complimentary shuttle service, the concierge can easily order a taxi. In return, you get an off-the-beaten-path property with minimal noise and beautiful volcano views.

Rooms & Bathrooms

The hotel's bungalows are cozy and accommodating, and you can choose from three configurations: one queen bed, two queen beds, or three queen beds. Despite the compact size, the hotel staff is happy to add an extra bed to accommodate additional family members or kids. Rustic and a little dated, each room features a terrace with chairs, views of the Arenal Volcano, and simple bathrooms.

Wildlife

Guests can see birds and butterflies from the rooms. There's a bird-feeding display at breakfast, and sloths can often be spotted in the trees. Frogs may be heard at night.

Amenities

Hotel Arenal Montechiari has a medium-sized kidney-shaped outdoor pool surrounded by lush tropical plants; there's ample lounge space and great views of Arenal Volcano from the pool area. Some rooms are accessible to travelers with limited mobility, and all are in single-story buildings that wheelchairs or strollers can access.

Family-Friendliness

Kids are welcome at this hotel, and many rooms sleep up to four or six people. Extra beds are available. Children up to age nine are charged a reduced rate, while kids above nine are charged as adults. Kids will enjoy the outdoor pool and spotting birds and animals in the gardens.
