Madeinterranea Suites, Málaga

Standard
Relaxed hotel with rooms and apartments in a restored 18th-century mansion

Overview

Choose from standard double rooms or apartments with one or two bedrooms at Madeinterranea Suites. You'll find the two accommodation options in separate buildings about a six-minute walk from one another, though both are in the historic city center and walkable to all the sites. Rooms are simple yet comfortable in a landmark building with a breakfast buffet, and apartments offer a bit of character with private balconies or terraces in a modern building.

Pros
  • The hotel runs two locations, one for its standard rooms on the idyllic Calle Andrés Pérez nearly between two beautiful churches, Parroquia de los Santos Mártires Ciriaco y Paula and Iglesia de la Aurora y Divina Providencia, and the other for apartments in a modern building on Calle Liborio García.
  • With either location, you can walk to nearly every primary site in Málaga, including the Cathedral, Alcazaba, Teatro Romano, Mercado Central, Castillo de Gibralfaro, and all the goodies along the waterfront.
  • You can choose from standard rooms with a double bed (or two single beds) or opt for more space in one of the apartments, choosing from one or two bedrooms.
  • All the apartments feature balconies or terraces and have kitchens and living rooms.
  • The reception on Calle Andrés Pérez offers a breakfast buffet each morning, and you can enjoy other meals at the owner's Mediterranean restaurant on Plaza de Uncibay (but you'll also be close to numerous other eateries in the city's Old Town).
Cons
  • The hotel consists of three locations—the hotel reception and standard rooms in one, the apartments in another, and the restaurant in Plaza de Uncibay—about six minutes from one to the other.

Authenticity

If you stay in the hotel's main building and choose one of the standard rooms, you'll be sleeping among history in a restored 18th-century mansion. The rooms have historical details like wood-beamed ceilings and exposed brick walls, and you'll find the breakfast area in the house's inner courtyard with columns and archways.

Location

The standard rooms at Madeinterranea Suites are in the hotel's historic building on the quiet Calle Andrés Pérez. If you'd like to book an apartment, you'll be on Calle Liborio García, around the corner from the city's shopping street, Calle Marqués de Larios. Either way, you'll be right in the city's historic center and within walking distance of all the sites, including the Cathedral, Alcazaba, Teatro Romano, Mercado Central, Castillo de Gibralfaro, and the waterfront with its beaches and promenades.

Rooms & Bathrooms

The standard rooms are simple yet clean and bright with light wood, white furnishings, and occasional pops of colors. Bathrooms are squeaky clean with fun tiling. The apartments provide comfy furnishings with a bit more character, plus larger bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, and balconies or terraces. Some balconies face the inner courtyard, so choose a unit facing the street if you want better views.

Other Highlights

If staying in one of the rooms on Calle Andrés Pérez, you can enjoy a daily breakfast buffet in the historic building's charming courtyard, complete with columns and stone archways.
