Introducing Italy

With unparalleled culture, art, architecture, food, and wine, Italy offers the quintessential European vacation. For travelers who haven't yet made it to Italy, it's time to see what la dolce vita is all about. And for those that have, it's time to say ancora!

When is the best time to visit?
Italy is incredible year-round, but since it's an internationally iconic place to visit, expect crowds at the premier tourist destinations from spring through fall, and during holidays when people are more likely to travel. If you have the flexibility, try and visit during the less crowded winter and early shoulder seasons. Learn more

Where should I go in Italy?
Rome, Florence, and Venice belong on every traveler's bucket list. Visitors with a little more time should also see the Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, Naples, Milan, the Cinque Terre, and Sicily—the list of places to visit in Italy has no end. Learn more

How many days do I need?
A week is barely enough to hit the main attractions in Italy, but it is doable. Stay for up to a month or more to truly savor the whole experience as well as the food and wine. And no matter how long you stay, you'll surely want to return for your next visit. Learn more

Getting around Italy
Trains are a great option for trips between Italy's cities, such as Florence to Rome and Milan to Venice. Driving isn't always straightforward, but it's still a great choice if you feel comfortable taking the wheel along Italy's Autostrada and curvy roads. Other options include domestic flights and ferries. Learn more

Our family just returned from an unforgettable 12-day trip to Italy, and I honestly can’t recommend KimKim enough—especially our travel specialist, Valeria.

From the very beginning, Valeria took the time to truly understand what we were looking for and created an itinerary that perfectly balanced the iconic highlights with time to slow down, relax, and experience Italy at our own pace. Traveling as a family of five with kids ranging from teenagers to an adult isn’t always easy, but every detail was thoughtfully planned and tailored to our family.

Throughout the entire trip, everything ran incredibly smoothly. Every private driver was punctual and professional, every guide was knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about sharing the history and culture of their city, and every transfer and tour was seamless. We never had to worry about logistics, which allowed us to simply enjoy being together and fully immerse ourselves in the experience.

A special thank you to Anna, who was always quick to respond and incredibly helpful behind the scenes, and to our on-the-ground concierge, Marina. Knowing Marina was just a message away gave us so much peace of mind. Whether we had a question or needed assistance, we always felt completely supported and genuinely cared for.

Some of our favorite memories included biking through the Tuscan countryside, exploring Florence, experiencing the Vatican and the Colosseum with exceptional private guides, wandering the charming streets of Trastevere, visiting Pompeii, and ending our trip along the breathtaking Amalfi Coast. Every guide brought history to life in a way that made each destination so much more meaningful than if we had explored on our own.

What impressed me most was how effortless the entire trip felt. Even after an unexpected travel delay getting to Italy, everything continued to run smoothly. The communication, organization, and attention to detail never missed a beat. We always felt like someone was looking out for us, and that level of service is invaluable when traveling abroad.

If you’re considering using KimKim, don’t hesitate. And if you have the opportunity to work with Valeria, consider yourself lucky. She is thoughtful, organized, responsive, and genuinely passionate about creating unforgettable travel experiences.

This was truly one of the best family vacations we’ve ever taken, and so much of that is thanks to Valeria and the incredible team she assembled. Anna, Marina, our outstanding guides, professional drivers, and everyone involved worked together to make this trip feel effortless from start to finish. We came home with memories we’ll cherish forever, and we will absolutely use KimKim again and recommend them wholeheartedly to our family and friends.

The best meal we ate in all of Italy was the cooking class meal we had here! Such a fun experience as well as delicious. Unfortunately, I’m not sure what to say about the restaurant though as our first night’s dinner was so salty neither of us could finish our meals. It made me want to cancel the second night’s meal , but I’m glad we didn’t as the second night’s dinner was delicious. Comfortable rooms and a lovely swimming pool was very relaxing. Gravel walkways to some of the rooms, so if you have trouble walking, select a room carefully

It was nice to have a private boat tour, but we were in one of the taxi boats which are partially enclosed. It’s tricky for those with physical problems to get to the opened back or it’s a little crowded to stay up front with driver. But we did get a very knowledgeable tour guide who went out of the way to make sure we went by something that is special to me.

Moxy Milan Malpensa Airport
Somma lombardo VA

It got the job done and we needed the location. It was fine for a night. It was trying to be very minimalist, but unfortunately it tipped over the line of actually being lacking. Usually hotels have some information in the room about how to change the temp, how to reach the front desk by phone (there was no phone), and available food and services. This had nothing. Not a QR code, no paper info, nothing. The gentleman who checked us in was abrupt and was being overtly rude to his co-worker. The food at the restaurant was OK, but certainly overpriced for what it was and the cafeteria style of service.

Hotel Villa Adriana
Monterosso al Mare

Wonderful space with a perfect location. My only issue was that we were on the very top floor, I think because we needed a larger room, and the windows in this space are tiny and high up. For such a stunning location, I really would have preferred to be able to see the view from this hotel as it was raised up over the street level. Unfortunately we could barely see glimpses of the faraway hillsides and it felt dark.

Beautiful and clean. A/C was so good! The pool is gorgeous and they are very friendly. I loved their breakfast. The only negative is that the restaurant was a bit disappointing. For the cost, I expected better. The food was either bland or over-salted. The breakfast was great, but the disappointing aspect was lunch and dinner. We sought those meals elsewhere.
