Colombia tour with NYE in Cartagena

Group of 3 friends looking to visit Colombia in December 2017

“Visiting Colombia in December for about 10 days. We are looking to do as much as we can, and experience diverse things as Colombia has so much variety! (ocean, mountain, city, coffee, museums, history, nature). We would like strictly private tours as we are a group of people who love to photograph and stop on the way at our ease to take our time shooting short films (drones and what not). We suggest to spend NYE in Cartagena, it is a place we do not want to miss. The group would rather stay in higher end hotels yet still have an authentic experience.”

Hello Karine,

Thank you for your request and your interest in traveling in Colombia!

My name is Nathalie, I moved in Colombia almost 2 years ago, after I fell in love with the country. I will be happy to help you discover the wonders of Colombia!

In 12 days you will have the chance to see quite a bit of the diversity of Colombia! NYE in Cartagena is really nice, also it is getting really full already so we'll have to make sure to book on time. Do you have already an idea of how many more persons might join the trip as well?

All the guided visits and transport I will suggest will be private. The guides and drivers will be there for you and you will be able to makes stops and go at your rythm to take pictures and videos!
I'll send you a program based on the one you've selected and including the most diversity of Colombia you could see in 12 days!
I'll be back to you by tomorrow.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions by then, I'll be happy to help with anything!
Have a nice day,

Kind regards,
Nathalie

Sounds Amazing Nathalie! many thanks for your quick reply.
UI do not know how many we might be, you know how it is with groups, but possibly two additional pairs. But at least as 3 are confirmed...I also liked the Colombian Andes to Caribbean itinerary on your website, but i guess it is also similar to the 9 day mixed adventure...
Also- what do you think of Villa de Leyva and Guatape?
Are there volcanoes and hot springs we could visit?

Many thanks :)

Karine
sorry one more thing!
would you recommend an amazon excursion? what kind of experience is that?
Nathalie Clavel

Hello Karine,

No worries, it is just to have a general idea of how big the group can be.
We will have to make a bit of choices for these 12 days.
You can go for "the colonial road" for instance, visit the two cute colonial villages Villa de Leyva and Barichara.
Guatapé is a really nice place, the excursion starts from Medellín. I was thinking not to include Medellín though, as it is a big city and there is much more diversity to discover in Colombia. But it all depends on what you want to do!
Hotsprings can be reached from the Coffee Region. There are volcanoes but it involves several days treks or going really south of the country. Which is doable, though it takes several days.

The Amazon is reachable by planes so it takes 3-4 days to visit, so you have time to enjoy. It represents a real natural experience in the deep forest (you'll see a lot of animals there).

I was thinking of suggesting you a program including Bogotá, Villa de Leyva, Barichara (near the Chicamocha Canyon, an amzing place!), the Coffee Region and Cartagena with an excursion on the islands.
We could also leave Barichara out and add the Tayrona Park for instance, a huge national park in the Caribbean Coast, where you will enjoy the forest, different ecosystems, be able to see a few animals and enjoy beaches.

Let me know your thoughts!
Best regards,

Nathalie
