When you land in Slovenia, transfer directly to Lake Bohinj to begin your adventure there. Spend the next few days exploring the area, including hiking around the lake and visiting nearby Lake Bled. Other nearby options include swimming in the lake, taking a gondola up to Vogel Ski Center to enjoy the view, and canoeing, kayaking, or stand-up paddleboarding. 

Next, spend a day hiking in Triglav National Park. Trek up to Vršič Pass, and spend the night nearby before descending into the Soča River Valley, where you'll find Bovec, Slovenia's outdoor sports capital. From there, you can go rafting, canyoning, kayaking, or biking through the valley. You can also venture further into the Soča Valley to the Tolmin Gorges or the village of Kobarid

Next, drive up Slovenia's highest road, Mangart Pass, before setting out to Goriška Brda the following day. Known as "Slovenian Tuscany," this wine region is the perfect place to relax and visit gorgeous vineyards, or stay active with some hiking and biking through its rolling hills.

Start your road trip in Lake Bled, and spend your first few days in Slovenia exploring its beautiful surroundings. Some options include hiking through Vintgar Gorge, visiting nearby Radovljica, and canoeing, kayaking, or stand-up paddleboarding on Lake Bohinj, Bled's neighbor. 

Then, drive across Vršič Pass into the Julian Alps until you reach Bovec in the Soča Valley. Bovec is a great base for river rafting, hiking, biking, canyoning, kayaking, and more. Spend a day enjoying the area before continuing on to Goriška Brda, Slovenia's wine region. Visit the area's rolling hills and vineyards in the morning, before continuing to the small village of Knezak, near Postojna.

Next, stop at the Škocjan Caves before crossing the border into Croatia to visit Rovinj, a fishing port on the west coast of the Istrian Peninsula. Explore Istria and Rovinj's surroundings, then head to Plitvice Lakes National Park and catch the sunrise there.

Start your hiking and biking trip by exploring Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital, before heading into the Alps. Bovec is the country's adventure sports capital, and you can go canyoning, zip-lining, and rafting nearby. After a couple of adrenaline-filled days, head to the quiet hills of Goriška Brda for a change of pace.

Goriška Brda is Slovenia's wine region. Visit a few vineyards and spend the night in private rooms at a local winery, before continuing on to the Škocjan Caves the following morning. Then, cross the border into Croatia to visit Rovinj, a coastal fishing port. You'll have a couple of days to explore the area and sail on the Adriatic before continuing on to Piran, in Slovenian Istria.
