Review of Road Trip In France
What a great service! Marianna, our local specialist, was wonderful to work with. She was very responsive and had some good insights. Now for some specifics:
Picking up the rental car was seamless. With everything prepared and paid for it took just a few minutes to do the paperwork and drive away. As with every other driving excursion, a quick click on the embedded link brought up a saved Google map with a detailed route right to the exact next location.
Deauville was a good stop for us. It was a short drive after leaving our cruise ship to this wonderful seaside resort that had obviously been visited by many film stars and other well-known people. The Hotel Barriere Le Normandy deserved the 5-star rating – great facilities, great service, wonderful charm.
Another click on an embedded link, and we were off for the drive to Mont-Saint-Michel. This was one of the highlights of the trip. What an inspiring feat to build such a grand abbey on an isolated small island so many centuries ago.
Next stop was Amboise in the Loire valley region. The Hotel Le Clos d’Amboise was a charming converted chateau with a courtyard and inground swimming pool. The reception staff was extremely gracious and helpful. The breakfast included was okay. However, we would not recommend the restaurant for dinner. The servings were small, the service was slow, and the price was way too expensive for what was received.
A major highlight of the trip was the visit to the Clos Luc Castle, the final home of Leonardo da Vinci. It was fascinating to see his drawings and the replicas of machines based on his ideas. What a visionary individual he was!
Now came the only hiccup in the entire experience. Before we took the 30-minute trip to turn in the rental car we called the transfer company that was to give us a ride back to our hotel. The company had the return transfer scheduled for the following day and could not get us a driver for the current day. The hotel staff lined us up with a different transfer. We paid for the transfer, but Kimkim graciously refunded us the charge. Specific instructions on how to return the car to the underground parking garage would have been very helpful as the Avis representative was not in his office and did not speak very good English as he tried to transmit instructions as we circled the train station a few times.
All in all, working with Kimkim exceeded our expectations. We have already recommended them to others and will not hesitate to do so in the future.

Did 8 day London to Paris trip with family of 4. Agency had arranged pick up from airport to hotel, which was nice that I did not have to worry about taxis scams. Hotels chosen were the Cumberland in London and Paris art hotel in Paris. Both were in the busy parts of town, which was what we asked for. Our activities were tailored to what we wanted. We did Tea bus tour, London eye, Tower London, Webmeister Abby and Madame Tussauds wax museum. It was nice to not to worry about getting ticket, making sure they are not sold out, how to buy, etc, as this was all taken care of for us.
Eurostar train to Paris was great and highly recommend, easier than plane.
In Paris we did Disneyland, Eiffel Tower, Cruise on Seine river, Louvre, and Notre dame. Had Sebastian as a tour guide for family friendly guided tour of Louvre was great, highly recommended if bringing young children. Again, didn't stress over tickets or times as Caroline, our travel agent, took care of this for us.

This is smaller hotel, more private and intimate. In a wonderful location in Latin Quarter, easy to find food and shopping. Staff was wonderful and friendly, but also helpful with anything we needed. Had a hair drier that failed and immediately replaced. Room cleaned in timely fashion. Did not have rooms that connected and had only 1 bed rooms but they accommodated us well.

The main river cruise that is next to Eiffel Tower. Ride when you want, runs every hour to half hour. It is 1 hour long but goes quick, nice view of city from the cruise.

Have been to all the Disneyland parks in America, so wanted to try this out. It is Magic Kingdom parks but Paris style. So much fun as always with Disney. Food was amazing, having French food. Rides are similar but unique in their own ways. Lines are similar to any Disney park. Stayed for fireworks show at night and had a blast

We had a wonderful weeklong trip to Annecy and Chamonix thanks to Amandine. After spending two weeks in Paris I wanted to go to a beautiful place away from the city and the crowds where my family (myself, husband, and two kids ages 12 and 10) could go hiking and do other outdoor activites, but I was overwhelmed thinking about planning this trip myself. After staying in airbnbs and doing all the research myself for many years I took a leap of faith and put my trust in Amandine and she did not disappoint. She was friendly, professional, responsive, and efficient with making revisions. She selected ideal destinations, arranged TGV tickets (including a surprise upgrade to first-class), found mid-range hotels with clean, comfortable rooms that had beds for each kid and nice breakfasts, arranged transparent kayak rentals, bike rentals, and gondola tickets, scheduled a hiking guide (Quentin was amazing) and two drivers, and recommended restaurants. I felt a genuine connection with her and the extra money was well-spent. I wouldn't hesitate to ask her for help planning another trip to France.

Caroline was fantastic in working with us and providing a once in a lifetime experience. I proposed to my girlfriend on the trip and Caroline and the team were wonderful in helping make sure the whole experience went smoothly. We saw and experienced things I would have never thought of, I highly recommend them.

Personally recommended by Liz and we get the hype! It's quaint, the host is personable, it's the perfect place to get an authentic taste of Provencal life. Dinners were lovely, the pool was a welcome break after our morning activities, and the team is so kind. A couple of things to note-we felt that our stay was uncomfortable due to the heat and mosquitoes. Our room on the top floor stayed warm throughout our stay and we were hesitant to open our window for better ventilation as there are lots of mosquitoes outside. We did mention this to the host, but nothing was done to address it, so we just adjusted for our 3-night stay. At other times of the year we can see how this would be the perfect stay, but during the summer it's a little tough. We also felt some of the pricing wasn't the most transparent. Although there is a sign by the front desk outlining cost of dinners, snacks, wine, etc., we noticed that when we requested a glass of wine during meals, we were poured very large pours that ultimately cost us the entire bottle (even if we weren't interested in this much). Just small things that gave us pause.

This was our favorite hotel. Amazing service (everyone was so kind and helpful with anything we could possibly need); they even upgraded us to a suite on their top floor when we returned on our last night. The location is fantastic, beds are very comfy, lovely bathrooms, great breakfast, GREAT A/C. Cannot say enough good things. This is where we will stay when we return to Paris.

This was our favorite activity of the trip. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, kind enough to alter our plan for the day to work around the rough afternoon heat without us prompting him, and he noticed we enjoyed shopping at the small villages and took us to another for our last stop! He even offered to drop us off directly at our accommodation at the end of the day, rather than at the Tourism office. We really appreciated his thoughtfulness.

Our trip to Spain and France began with planning approximately nine months in advance. The initial KimKim representative was responsive, conducted a video call, and worked through several changes with us. Natalia was also helpful, though we did experience occasional language misunderstandings. Later, we were switched to another representative, Valentine, whose slower response times created challenges and left us at a disadvantage during the planning process.

One of the most concerning aspects was the lack of transparency around excursion costs and activity details. We were repeatedly told that this information would not be provided, which made planning difficult and raised concerns.

Regarding accommodations, most hotels were very good. However, Hotel Eden in Paris did not meet the expected four‑star standard. We experienced issues with basic amenities, including a nonfunctional refrigerator and unreliable Wi‑Fi, and the location was not ideal. In contrast, the Grand Hotel in Aix was excellent and perfectly situated.

Our tour of Versailles was a highlight — Alexandria was an outstanding guide, especially with four children in our group. Unfortunately, our Louvre “family treasure hunt” tour was not communicated correctly from KimKim to the guide, who arrived unprepared. As a result, the tour was cut short to only 90 minutes. This error was reflected in the final itinerary, which we received just two days before departure instead of the promised 14 days.

We also encountered multiple transportation issues. While traveling with ten people can be complex, one incident was significant enough that we had to hire a taxi FOR 8 hours to ensure part of our group could continue with planned activities in Girona. KimKim has stated they will reimburse this cost.

I also believed we would have a dedicated guide accompanying us throughout the trip to assist with troubleshooting and logistics. Either I misunderstood or this expectation was not clearly addressed, but we ultimately had no on‑the‑ground support and had to manage all issues ourselves. We sent multiple hours planning once in France due to activities which did not play out as itinerary stated. I requested compensation for our time but got an apology. KIMKIM did reimburse for some of the activities that they failed to complete. I expect a refund any day on event that did not get completed as itinerary indicated.

Regretfully, based on our experience and feedback from others we encountered on our trip, I cannot recommend KimKim at this time.

All of local guides were great in both Paris and Florence. Fashionista guide and food guide were wonderful Francesco on conquering trrra and San Gianni was great with knowledge and flrxinilitu given the heater had a great time in spite of done challenges both hotels not prepared for I room double bed and 2 rooms twin beds even though I was clear with agent. There were mix up’s with cars to add imports seems we were told 2 cars and then we would have a van with one driver which makes sense but did I pay for 2 cars each time. It took time to learn metro and we used it but going st night for stone river cruise directions said one hour needed and we left 9 minutes before and missed the boat by 46 minutes we do not know the traffic in Paris and I fett at l we should have been told more what to expect do we missed it yo the great disappointment got my oldest granddaughter and we were all dressed up I need an invoice with expenses for thst yo see if I can claim on my travel insurance and walking around looking for a place to eat. Is this new way of customers going to the guide which was an added stressor is that the way kimkim is moving to? Do I believe my family made the best of it and we had a great time but I believe the agent does not fo detail well. Even directions or referrals got restaurants web sites were not how reservations were made those are things we would not know. I would think twice about working either kimkim agdin

We wanted a very specific type of trip. Kayaking some calm rivers in France, going from town to town and staying in luxury accomodations and having everyting taken care of for us. All we wanted to do was get placed in a kayak and paddle and enjoy the peace and beauty of a river, and for others to take care of the rest.
I called a lot of places- and the ONLY one who could do anyting was Amadine.
She took care of everything, a remarkable two week adventure. 5 days on the rivers, and the rest visiting the sites of a beautiful part of the world.
They kayaking was just as we wanted, the accomodations best available, drivers spot on and timely.
I could not have asked for better.
I would suggest Kimkim for very specific bespoke touring.

The Hotel Alchimy in Albi was nice, and the restaurant there was excellent with very good service. However, the air conditioning in our room was not effective during the heat wave, and we had to request a fan to stay comfortable. Despite this, the staff were very accommodating and tried their best to help.

Kayaking from Monceau to Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne

The kayaking experience with Saporito was excellent. The company was very accommodating, and the app they provided was fantastic, allowing us to know exactly where we were on the river at all times. The whole kayaking trip from town to town was very well organized with car and driver transfers, which made it very enjoyable and stress-free.

The trip to the Riviera was absolutely amazing. Starting from the airport pick up to our airport departure. All went
smoothly and comfortable.
Our hotel Suisse room was cozy and comfortable, the breakfast and service was very nice.
Pierire our driver to Antibes, Fred our driver to Saint Tropez and Oceanana our driver to Villa Ephrussi de
Rothschild and Monaco were all very sociable , knowledgeable about the cities and friendly personable people.
They helpded make the days travel fun and pleasurable.
The walk through Antibes, the coast line and lively market was an insight to life along the Sea.
Saint Tropez by land. We prefered the drive to Saint Tropez and enjoyed exploring the charm of the city.
The drive to Monaco was beautiful and we enjoyed the many scenic views where we took many photos.
The gardens at the Rothschild Villa was magnificient.
Liz was extremely helpful in putting together our tour which was comfortable and customized to exploring the
Riviera's beauty in the time we spent there.

KimKim planned an incredible 12-day trip for our family, spanning ages 4 to 75, and they nailed it. Lucie spent over a year helping us perfect the itinerary, and when she went on maternity leave, Audrey stepped in seamlessly - rebooking trains after a weather cancellation, getting us onto a new boat in Marseille within the hour after a hiccup with our original cruise, and even helping us troubleshoot a power outage at our Paris apartment on a Saturday night. We always felt taken care of.

Our villa in Orgon was stunning: gorgeous grounds with a spectacular pool, which was a major perk given the heatwave during our stay. Our Montmartre apartment was equally lovely and perfectly located for exploring with kids. Activity highlights were everywhere: a day trip to visit Les Baux de Provence and the Carrières de Lumière was magical (and a cool escape from the summer heat), the Jardin d'Acclimatation was a huge hit with the kids, and the Ducasse sur Seine dinner cruise was a lovely evening adventure for me and my husband with great food and sunset views. The guides for our walking tours were exceptional across the board: Séverine brought Marseille to life, Sonali turned the Louvre into an engaging treasure hunt for the kids, and Sophie gave us a totally fresh, local take on Montmartre.

High-end accommodations, thoughtful planning, and a team that was always just a message away - we'd book with KimKim again in a heartbeat!

This villa was stunning — immaculate landscaping, a spacious and well-kept interior, and hands-down the nicest private pool I've ever seen. We spent hours in it every day, which was a lifesaver during the heatwave. The location was ideal, close to charming villages, all the essentials (supermarket, boulangeries, pharmacies), and our planned activities. Karine, the villa manager, was excellent — responsive, warm, and easy to work with.

We had planned a semi-private Calanques Cruise in Marseille, but unfortunately, due to a miscommunication about the departure time, we missed the boat after driving an hour to get there. It was disappointing, but Audrey from KimKim was amazing and quickly rebooked us on a larger tour cruise within the hour, so we still got to enjoy the experience that morning. Despite the hiccup, the solution was handled very well.

Our family just returned from an unforgettable 11-day trip through Provence, the French Riviera, and Paris, and I can't say enough good things about working with Liz and her team.

From the moment we landed until the day we flew home, every detail was thoughtfully planned. We traveled from Aix-en-Provence to Nice and then on to Paris, with a perfect mix of guided experiences, free time, and seamless transportation. Every day brought a new adventure, from exploring the stunning Calanques by boat, wandering through charming villages, and seeing the breathtaking lavender fields in Provence, to snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters off the Lérins Islands, visiting Monaco and Èze, touring the Louvre, and ending with an evening cruise on the Seine.

The lavender fields were every bit as beautiful as I had imagined, but if I had to choose a favorite destination, it would absolutely be **Nice**. The colorful Old Town, the Mediterranean coastline, the beach clubs, and the relaxed Riviera atmosphere was amazing!

One of the things I appreciated most was having the **Team France** support while we were traveling. Their app made communication incredibly easy, and it was so reassuring to know that if we had a question or needed assistance, someone was just a message away. They responded quickly and handled every little detail, allowing us to simply enjoy our vacation.

Planning a trip for five adults with trains, private transfers, hotels, and multiple tours could have been overwhelming, but Liz made it feel effortless. Everything flowed beautifully, and we were able to focus on making memories instead of worrying about logistics.

If you're considering a trip to France, I highly recommend working with Liz. She created a vacation that was full of unforgettable experiences, beautiful scenery, and just the right balance of adventure and relaxation. It truly was a trip we'll remember for a lifetime.

I liked the way that the guides were able to tell us about the French cities we were visiting. They knew the facts of the cities and pointed out some of the highlights of the city. The guides were on time to take us to the locations we were to visit. They were easy pick up and easy drop off.

All-in -all, it was a memorable experience.

Alexia was responsive in handling the logistics of our trip. However, I substantially designed the itinerary myself, so my feedback relates to the execution rather than the planning.

My primary disappointment was the selection and oversight of the local guide. For a premium private travel experience, I expected much stronger vetting and quality control. When concerns arose, I did not feel that my interests as the client were the primary focus. Instead, I often felt that the priority was accommodating the local vendors.

I also would have appreciated more proactive advocacy on our behalf once it became clear that the guide was not meeting expectations. Ultimately, the execution fell well short of the premium experience we were expecting.

The peaceful atmosphere allowed us to fully appreciate the beauty, history, and significance of this remarkable cathedral without the crowds. What truly made the experience exceptional, however, was our guide. She was engaging, exceptionally knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and wonderfully prepared. Every moment was filled with fascinating history, architectural details, and stories that brought Notre-Dame to life. She had an incredible ability to answer questions, adapt the conversation to our interests, and make the experience feel personal rather than scripted. If you have any interest in history, architecture, or French culture, this experience is absolutely worth adding to your itinerary. It was the finest guided experience of our trip and one we will remember for years to come.

This was, unfortunately, the most disappointing experience of our trip. We booked a private experience expecting a highly personalized, engaging, and seamless day. Instead, the tour felt unprepared, disjointed, and largely unengaging. There were extended periods of silence with very little historical context, conversation, or storytelling, and much of the day felt like simply walking from one location to another without the added value that a private guide should provide. The guide's attention frequently seemed divided by coordinating other tours and promoting her own book, leaving us with the impression that our experience was not her primary focus. There were also unnecessary delays and awkward lulls caused by transportation and logistical coordination that should have been anticipated in advance. Additionally, portions of our itinerary were changed without consulting us, and I found the guide's communication style to be abrupt at times. I was also uncomfortable with the repeated insistence on handling my personal phone after I had declined. In contrast, our private guide at Notre Dame was exceptionally engaging, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and well prepared. That experience demonstrated exactly what we expect from a premium private guide and made the shortcomings of this experience even more apparent. My advice to future travelers is to confirm who your guide will be in advance and ensure your expectations for the style of the experience are clearly communicated. A great guide can make a private tour unforgettable; unfortunately, this guide made what should have been a highlight of our trip the most disappointing part of it.

There were unnecessary delays and idle periods while transportation was being arranged, which interrupted the flow of the day and contributed to long stretches where nothing was happening. A private guide should anticipate these logistics in advance so transitions feel seamless and guests remain engaged rather than waiting while arrangements are made.

We had a truly incredible trip to France! It was my children's first trip abroad (7yrs and 4 yrs) and my first time taking them on such a big adventure as a parent. Lucie made sure the trip was a perfectly tailored balance of things the kids would enjoy, parents would enjoy, and inclusive of enough downtime to make sure we all weren't overtired. We made several hotel changes and location changes and always had fantastic, kind, drivers to bring us from place to place with all of our luggage. Our hotels were wonderful spaces for us to enjoy as a family, and the neighborhoods she found for us to stay in were walkable and right on the Metro lines. We loved Paris - we had a wonderful, kid friendly tour of the Louvre. We saw the Eiffel Tower (my 7 year old's big dream for the trip), explored Montmartre, took the Metro all over. We travelled my train to the charming town of Nantes and saw the old town and the Machines de l'Ile, rented a car to go to Puy du Fou, and then spent 3 perfect lazy days in Ile de Re. It was a magical trip - Lucie handled EVERYTHING. When our flights got severely delayed (to the next day) she rearranged our cars, informed the hotel, and moved around our Louvre tour to accommodate our new schedule. The next time my family goes to France we will absolutely reach out to Lucie.
