He made sure we were comfortable and took care of all the necessary needs we had. At the ice cave he took care of us and helped me feel safe . He was with us at all times making sure we had an experience of a life time! He is extremely knowledgeable not only about Iceland but the world as well!

Iceland is an incredible country to visit! It has so many things to offer...and it is so varied...and how to see everything? Duncan, who organized our trip and KimKim who provided him the necessary backup did an absolutely amazing job! To see so many sights and to do so many activities in a short period of time and enjoy every step of the way is an impossible feat but Duncan and KimKim did it. Thank you. It will be a life time memory for my wife and me and the other couple who went with us.
To mention a few of the standout places would be Westman Island and the ferry trip across. (The Puffins were enroute but the island was so scenic.) Next, the Iceberg Lagoon would be a standout. The Zodiac took to see a glacier calving and we were able to see a seal resting on an iceberg. (Quiet amazing!) The Ice Cave is one of nature's rare sights but to be able to walk within an ice cave is a life time thrill. The guides were most safe and the photos unbelievable. Got my wife a new diamond for her ring on Black Diamond Beach (a sparkling clear miniature iceberg!) Strokkur Geyser is a wonderful " Old Faithful" going 100 feet into the air about every 5-10 minutes. Other sights to see and walk on would be glaciers, dormant volcanos, tectonic plates of North America and the Eurasian plate are feet within each other, and the list could go on and on.
The hotels were very nice and the typically associated restaurants were likewise very good and had a local flavor. The staffs were all pleasant and helpful. The "Star" system KimKim used was very much on target.
This was a very complicated trip but Duncan pulled it together. To illustrate, we were there 11 days and drove 1,533 miles. This included many activities and they were all on time and well priced. To us we felt the pricing of the entire trip to be very good for all that we did.
A few areas that would have improved our experience might be a map of the country all on one or two pages to give an overview. Our Wi-Fi did not work and we used Internet service each night to determine the exact routes to go the next day. (KimKim did get us reimbursed for the lack of the Wi-Fi system.)
Over all we were very pleased and highly recommend Duncan and KimKim to any world travelers who want to get the feel of an extraordinary country. The pricing was fair and Duncan followed up with us throughout the entire trip. A 10 out of 10! Can't beat it!

When looking at how to visit Iceland and all of the different options, it was overwhelming. Kimkim and Adam made everything simple and saved us so much time and stress. The detailed notes on each days' activities helped make everything run smoothly. The two optionals activities Adam helped us book, the ice caves and Zodiac boat tour were two of the highlights.

We loved our trip to Iceland and greatly valued the advice provided by our KimKim specialists. Navigating the coastline throughout the Westfjords was incredible, and something we probably would not have tackled without their help constructing a fabulous itinerary! In a country such as Iceland where the tourism infrastructure does not seem like it has caught up with the exploding consumer demand having assistance in planning your trip is important.

This was definitely one of our favorite tours we scheduled over our trip. This is a family business/farm and the passion for what they do is definitely felt. You will definitely see things from a different perspective from a horse than you will on foot at Lake Myvatn.

B59 hotel was adequate but not special. Clean, but run more like a youth hostel ( one of the floors) than a full service hotel. Many things in the room had mechanical or design problems - all small, but irritating.

What an amazing place ! Iceland is unlike anywhere else we have seen. Terry put together the most perfect itinerary for us by learning what we liked to do and see, and merging that with all the incredible possibilities on offer there. From enjoying the beauty of all the magnificent waterfalls (foss) to snorkeling in the glacial waters of the Silfra fissure. She thought of everything and presented it all in an easy to manage package. Thanks so much Terry… it was simply wonderful.

Veronika was amazing from start to finish with planning the trip and guiding us throughout the trip. Iceland was beautiful and it is heaven on earth would recommend to everyone.

Rinolda was a pleasure to work with! She was helpful during every step of the planning and trip process. She took time to understand our likes and dislikes, and in the end planned a trip perfectly curated to our dream vacation. Additionally, while in Iceland she checked in often, and even went out of her way to help us re-arrange an excursion since the weather was going to be bad the day we had originally booked. All of her food recommendations, trip plans, driving routes, and locations were amazing. This was truly a vacation we could not have planned without Rinolda's knowledge!

My one comment for improvement, would be to add more details in the accommodation information. A few of the guesthouses we stayed at had a certain times blocked off that we were supposed to check in (I.e. check in from 16:00-18:00), and we didn't realize this until the day of check in. So, one time we missed the check in time, which isn't ideal. Also, a few of the guesthouses had sent check in information (such as where to find the keys, or door codes) to the booking email. Since KimKim booked the stay, they had that info and not us. So, it would help if the booking confirmation with info from the hotel/guesthouse was added to the itinerary.

Overall, this was our first time using KimKim, and I did not know what to expect, but Rinolda exceeded all of our expectations. I would recommend her to anyone planning a trip to Iceland!

Scotty, Preeti and Michele were outstanding in their help planning our trip. They were very helpful and their recommendations were marvelous. We thoroughly enjoyed working with them and their knowledge of the Westfjords and Snaefellsnes led us to places we probably would not have seen without their guidance. As we travelled, they were available for questions as needed. They were an absolute delight to work with, and we hope to work with them again.

Great trip to Iceland thanks to Gummi and Kimkim. Gummi was great at putting a detailed itinerary together for an 11-day ring road trip around Iceland that worked for our interests and budget and he was there to assist throughout the trip whenever we needed a little help or simple things like a restaurant recommendation. The weather was a little cold, wet and windy but we made the best of it and Gummi even gave us a heads up to watch the road and weather advisories when the weather became unpredictable - nice touch and saved us a few bad roads that google maps would have sent us down. Great adventure, great service - highly recommend going to Iceland with Gummi and the Kimkim team.

It was a super-jeep. When you see it you'll understand why it's "super".

Terry came up with a plan for our trip after gathering information from me via text and phone call. She answered all of my questions promptly and was easy to reach. While in Iceland one of our tours was cancelled due to bad weather and the representative,Michele, located in Iceland corresponded efficiently with us to try to come up with alternatives. Every hotel we experienced was superb. We especially enjoyed the Fosshotel Hellnar where we had a larger room. The Arnarstapi/Hellnar trail hugged the water and we walked the trail from Hellnar to Arnarstapi and had dessert at a restaurant in Arnarstapi before heading back to Hellnar. The free breakfasts at all of the hotels were more than adequate and each hotel had a restaurant where we often ate dinner. At Fosshotel Lake Myvatn, we found Carlos to be especially helpful and very professional. At each hotel, our check-in was seamless and the staff was lovely. I highly recommend working with KimKim and especially with Terry.

I highly recommend this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. One front desk employee, Carlos, stood out as especially helpful, friendly and polite. He always greeted us with a smile and went above and beyond to answer our questions about the area. The hotel has a sauna that looks out over beautiful landscape. The breakfast that came with our reservation was delicious, plenty of items to choose from. We stayed here for 3 nights and felt very comfortable there.

We have had two great trips to Iceland thanks to Kimkim and our local expert, Rinolda! For this trip, I contacted Kimkim through the website and got timely call back from an agent. She listened to my requests and reconnected me with Rinolda.

Working with Rinolda again made our second trip to Iceland unique. She suggested two itineraries. We chose to travel the complete Rung Road. Rinolda took the time to ask if there were specific places we wanted to visit and things we wanted to do. She then put together a trip for us that took us to different places as well as locations we wanted to see in the summer.

Once we were in Iceland, Rinolda reached out to us each day. She answered our questions quickly . One day she found us a new restaurant to try. All the hotels and activities were booked for us. There is a Tip Summary that has all the information needed in one place. Each day included a Driving Plan that ran on Google maps.

I was considering planning my family's trip to Iceland myself, but got immediately overwhelmed when I sat down to do the research. I am so glad that I happened to come across the KimKim website, and that I got linked with Veronika as our local specialist! Our trip just ended and we are all still reeling with how much we got to see and do, how smoothly everything went, and how wonderful it was to have Veronika available to us 24/7 by WhatsApp message if we did have questions or need to move things around. I come from a family of historically late people, so there were a few times where we were running late for ticketed items or needed to move dinner reservations later. I messaged Veronika in these instances, and she was on it for me, contacting the places and letting me know if things could be moved around. I didn't expect Veronika to be as available as she was to me... I don't think I waited longer than 10 minutes for most of the responses from her throughout the trip. She really went above and beyond, and was responsive before the trip/able to make adjustments to the plan/hotel changes as needed beforehand via the chat in KimKim. I asked her to make the trip a blend of activity and relaxation since members of my family enjoy both, and she staggered hikes and relaxing hot springs perfectly so that the trip met everyone's needs. Best of all, we actually got to meet Veronika in person when we stopped in her city and we had dinner together. She was even more intelligent, funny, and adorable in person and we were so glad to have the opportunity to meet her. I would send any friend planning to go to Iceland to her to plan their trip. Hanna set up a great trip for us. Every hotel had our reservation and we were able to check in effortlessly. The details in the trip plan were thorough and we were able to see every sight we wanted to see. The organization of the trip plan was helpful so that we were able to know what was coming up and how long it would take to get there. We have never done a self-drive holiday before, but definitely will again. We don’t like being led around in a tour group, and the flexibility of self-drive gave us the convenience of a tour with the freedom of taking our own holiday.

Lizbet was great. She understood our preferences and tried to accommodate them.

The first accommodations were perfect. I challenged lizbet on the second accommodations and she said we were booking late and that was all she could get. I would not recommend the Stracta Apartments. There are no restaurants nearby, no host or anyone to talk to, not sure about the safety there, so I did not go out to run by myself, and, very frustrating, it is not on Google maps. Making it difficult to navigate.

Kayaking was cancelled due to wind.

Missed hot pools due to baggage delivery system breaking at the airport causing a 2 plus hour delay.

Ice cave tour was outstanding
Food recommendations were very helpful.
Maps and turn by turn guide got us to all out destinations.

I had a great time on the trip that Terry helped set up for me throughout Iceland. She was very responsive to my questions, had a lot of insider knowledge of the locations and activities, and made the process very easy. I'm generally an independent traveler, but having someone with local knowledge is invaluable. I got to see many sights that I would never had known about otherwise. The hotels selected by Terry and KimKim were very comfortable and, as much as possible, conveniently located. Here are a couple of tips from me for future travelers: If possible, spend more than one day in Akureyri. It's a great small city and a jumping off point for other activities in the area. Also, be prepared for any kind of weather at any time - pack accordingly. The whale watching tour was great and Husavik is beautiful town to visit. Definitely partake in the nature baths in any part of the country; they are very soothing after driving (and some days driving will be long and tiring). Overall, this was a great trip and kimkim made planning so much easier. I will use them in the future for other travels.

The Geothermal Vok Baths

This is a very nice facility and the staff was great. They have the main pools, plus 2 floating pools in the river. It is possible to jump into the freezing river and then climb back into the pools. It was a unique experience. A nice touch is also a corridor where you can walk right into the pool without having to brave the cold outside air. Of course, I learned that too late.

Husavik Whale Watching

I highly recommend this activity. But check the time of year vs whale populations in the harbor. I was there when the whales were in abundance and got to see many. But it may be different at other times of year. The boats can accommodate many people and even though there were lots of people, I never felt crowded. There was always room to move about the vessel. Also, they were nice enough to give everyone hot chocolate and a cinnamon roll on the way back to port.

Myvatn Nature Baths

This was a nice large natural bath. It was very soothing and had a swim up bar that was very convenient. It has great views overlooking the water like an infinity pool. Viewing the sunset from the water was very nice.

Bjórböðin Beer Baths

This was a cool experience. It was fun and the place is very nice. I didn't eat at the restaurant but the menu looked good. The room with the beer bath and tap is private, clean, and you should definitely try it out, since you came all this way anyway.

Elisa organised an epic ten day adventure for us through the West Fjords and south coast of Iceland. Liaising and payment in lead up to the trip was simple and Elisa was very helpful if we encountered any hiccups during the trip. We appreciated the support over Whatsapp when travelling. Elisa met up with us briefly and gifted us some Icelandic goodies which was a very sweet touch. The highlight of the trip was certainly the west fjords which was the slightly less traveled part of Iceland - beautiful sweeping scenery that we could take in over days of driving with 100 photo stops. We couldn't get enough. Recommend ordering fresh Cod when available on the menu - it was always delicious. Iceland was a very expensive country which we were anticipating. Certainly a once in a lifetime trip though! We would book through KimKim again.
