My husband and I had a phenomenal trip in Morocco organised by Yassine and the Team from MOBT, and I would be delighted to recommend them to anyone looking to travel to Morocco for the first time.

Booking Experience:
One of the great benefits of working with a locally based travel specialist is that you receive reliable guidance and recommendations for a country you may not be familiar with. In planning the trip Yassine thoughtfully made me aware of several logistical considerations, for example regarding realistic travel times, and also recommended some less well-known regions and destinations to visit. He helped us tailor an itinerary that catered for our interests and maximised our short 7 days in the country.

Yassine was highly professional, always responsive, and knowledgeable. The information provided before the trip was detailed and gave us some great preparation tips.

For anyone traveling from Australia, I can also confirm that coordinating information with Yassine was significantly easier and faster than with a local agent. In addition, he was happy provide us with all the required info for Smart Traveller.

In Country Experience:
We couldn’t be happier and more grateful for the warm welcome and support we received from the MOBT team.

The highlight of any trip is the people you meet along the way, and we truly cherished the opportunity to get to know our driver Ismail. Apart from being a very thoughtful, kind, and warm person – he’s also one heck of a competent driver. It was so sad to say goodbye and we wished we got to have more conversations with Ismail. He was so patient with our questions and taught us both a lot about Morocco.

All the guides we encountered were professional and knowledgeable. Of particular value was their savvy planning of our days in Marrakesh and Fes, since they were able to predict which places would be crowded, so we were always at the right place at the right time, avoiding all the cues.

We were also grateful that Hassan joined us on one of the days, it was a pleasure to meet him, and we really appreciated that MOBT team members checked in with us regularly during the trip.

Finally, the accommodation selected by MOBT could not have been better. Every hotel/riad was comfortable, beautiful, had incredible service, and was easy to find in the medina.

Travelling to Morocco:
If you’ve not been to Morocco before, do not hesitate to plan your visit. I would recommend researching and preparing well, understanding a little about the culture beforehand, and you will have a brilliant trip.

Whatever your interest, you will find something that you will enjoy and find beauty in. For me, as an avid reader and history buff, Morocco was a treasure trove of incredible sights and meaningful discoveries. It was really a transformative experience, and we now understand a little more about the world than we did before – something that you should take away from every new place. It’s hard to name a highlight - the whole experience was fantastic from start to finish - but I think getting up early in the morning to listen to the call to prayer and watch the sunrise for the first time in Marrakesh was one of the most moving memories I have.

Thank you to Yassine, Hassan, of course Ismail, and everyone at MOBT for helping us have an amazing adventure. We will be returning to Morocco, there is so much more to explore!

Overall our trip to Morocco was an exciting trip. I believe that the one area that needs to be improved is the following. 1) agency staff should have one staff member who has visited the primary cities and understands how the city functions - e.g. the square in Marrakech does not have any food stall experience before night fall ... when i would speak to Brahim about places - the response ‘i’ve never been there” required me to research even more... 2) guides should have both prior... I have booked private guide services in many cities and countries and the main guides provided by the agency were not professional.. they were not interested in their work or interested in showing us their city/country, this was not the case with the guides that i booked .... interesting to note that guide services that i booked directly for myself in Casablanca, Essaouria and Marrakech and the one i picked up last minute in Ait Ben Haddou and the one provided by our driver in Meknes were exceptional - the only guide service provided through the agency that provided exceptional guiding were Hafid in Fes and the camel guide and the sunset guide provided by Yasmina Palace in Merzouga
provided good guiding services. all things being relevant
a trip is made exceptional by two components - the driver and the guide services and both were lacking.
better accommodation for the same fee is available in Marakkech,
the Marakkech guide was the worst. he had knowledge but was neither interested in his city or in providing the guide services

most memorable place was FES and the desert experience and Chefchaouen - driver for Chefchaoun was very good

Hello Patricia,

Firstly, please allow me to thank you very much for taking the time to write and share your feedback and experience with me and my travelers. I have read it carefully and would like to share my comments with you and clarify some of the points you mentioned above:

1. Should I have deeper knowledge about each city and town of my country: YES, no one would deny that I should and that is my dream to achieve. But, as I have mentioned during our phone calls, I could not yet make it work and travel to every city because I have other obligations such as studies and family which prevent me from traveling all over Morocco yet. I am always honest with my travelers when they ask me about something I do not know, and I promise them to go and check it for them. The same I did for you. I know you did not like the location of the accommodation in Skoura, but, as you may recall, I never worked with this hotel you selected on your own via Booking.com and I did notify you of it clearly and you asked me to book it for you which left us with checking online feedbacks only and they were all good as you also read.

2. The Square in Marrakech: if you allow me to invite you to get back to the program and check the description; I have mentioned the following "In the evening the square transforms into a huge open-air restaurant with smoke rising from the many food stalls". This means that we only expect the square to have the stalls by the late evening. I never had any complaint from any of my travelers because it's an open space where people may decide to put their stalls starting from the evening time.

3. The local guide being registered: please allow me to confirm that all guides we work and supply to our travelers are registered and have been qualified by the local tourism office. Not sure on which basis you say that they are not registered? Of course, if any guide is not at his expected level of knowledge and professionalism, I would love to be informed because only through your feedbacks and my travelers' I am sure they are on top of their job. Also, I always recommend my travelers inform us through our 24h/7 emergency phone of an unpleasant experience they have during their travel the same as you also did regarding the guide services in Skoura which I immediately approved and refunded to your credit card because after checking and investigating I figured out that indeed the services of your guide were not as expected.

Last but not least, please allow me to say that I am surprised to hear from you that also your driver and all the guide services were not good. The only complained you sent me during your travel was about the guide in Skoura and only for 1 day which you asked me to refund. On my side with my local provider, we decided to refund you 3 days of the guide services as a gesture of good well and because we care about your trip services. Of course, I respect your feedback, but, I personally deserve to be informed while you are in the destination to have the right to intervene and check what's wrong. If I am not informed, I always assume everything is good order, especially that we were in contact via phone and WhatsApp the entire trip which is weird that you did not let me know.

I hope I have clarified some of the points above for you and also for my trusted travelers.

All the best,
Brahim

Everyone involved, from our driver to the local tour guides knew exactly where to be and when to be there. Our driver, Yahya, was the most important part of our trip. He was available 24/7 and attentive to our needs. He was friendly, knowledgeable, punctual, and always made sure that we were safe. He also served as a translator from Arabic-to-English and French-to-English. Having a good driver in Morocco is invaluable!

Thanks again to Brahim, Yahya, and the KimKim team for making this the best vacation we've had so far!

A few things though for travellers to Marrakech. Be prepared people there are looking to take money from you. For us it started with the Global Currency Exchange in the airport. They insisted we need a prepaid credit card despite my many protests they would not relent as they said they had already done the transaction. The woman kept telling me over and over that I needed one and it was better than cash. Rip off. They charged me $30 Us to issue a $100 Us equivalent card and then most vendors there refused to accept it. Do not go to that currency exchange. It is the second one you see coming out of arrivals. In the Riad a random person showed up as we were off loading our bags from the baggage cart guy. He lifted two bags out of the cart. He then insisted I had to pay him $10 US for his services. In Tangier it was even worse as people followed you everywhere and were very aggressive.

Last thing do not go into a @Berner Home” for a visit unless you are planning to buy a carpet. This was one part of our trip I found very annoying. We were told we were going to see how the Barbers live. Instead it was a carpet warehouse and they pressure you like crazy to buy. And they are relentless and then get mad at you if you do not buy. I auggest in any excursions know exactly what you are getting into. Again we had the same experience in the so called “Spice Market” and Rose Water stop which which are both just high pressured tourist traps. Same thing again in Tangier’s.

All in all the country is beautiful and the people friendly and I get it that people are trying to live by selling but your operators need to be more honest. They get kick backs on all of this stuff and I feel I wasted a lot of my vacation time being pressured to buy stuff I had not interest in.

Having a driver really helped us to visit the maximum number of places, with the minimum amount of stress. We also had a good balance of leisure time to educational time. If you are considering a trip to Morocco, don't miss out on camping with the Bedouins, and the camel ride into camp. The scenery is amazing. Your friends will all be jealous. I have only 1 suggestion: it seems that all of the riads that we stayed in put us on the 3rd floor. I'm not sure why. The problem is that I have knee issues. They are not TOO bad, but the steps in Morocco seem to be higher than the steps elsewhere. The first riad in Fez, I had to climb the steps on my hands and knees. (not too dignified) Luckily, they moved us for the second night. So I suggest asking your clients about knee issues, and booking rooms accordingly. BTW, every riad we stayed at was photograph worthy. The Roman ruins in Volubilis were a must see for me, the mosaics and setting are amazing. Ait Benhaddou and Fez were culturally a must do and I loved having an organised guide in Fez with a personality. The changing landscape in Morocco is amazing and made the car travel not an issue. Our family has done extensive traveling and we always felt safe in Morocco while excercising a normal level of caution that you do anywhere in the world. We all travel a lot and had high expectations for this experience and they were fulfilled. We travelled for 7 days from Casablanca, to Chefchaouen, to Fes and ended in Marrakesh. Our driver was with us the entire time. Tarik was an excellent driver and made fantastic suggestions for local meals and sites to see. He was available 24/7 and helped us with every question. The accommodation Brahim booked was fantastic, and just what we wanted. We had two tours, one in Chefchaouen and the other in Fes; both our guides where friendly, knowledgable and gave us an appropriate amount of information. The car Tarik drove was comfortable, spacious and great for 4 people with luggage.
Overall I am very impressed with Kimkim and the service they provided. I recommend them highly.

It felt more like a Hostel than it did a Hotel. They never even came to clean our room. We also had a misunderstanding with a tour guide at that hotel which caused a bit of chaos on our first morning which wasn't pleasant. But other than that everything was excellent. The most memorable part of the trip was the camel ride out to the Sahara! What an extraordinary experience. I also loved Rabat - very nice city. Marrakesh is a bit crazy but fun. One highlight of our trip was the outstanding customer service. We received treatment as if we were staying at the Ritz everywhere. Moroccan's are deeply invested in tourism. Our driver, Hicham was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He kept us safe and on schedule as well as provided great company. He tied the whole trip together and we could not have imagined a better trip leader.

I am recommending kimkim to all of my friends and family. We plan to use their service again in the near future.

Thanks to kimkim and Yassine, who organized a wonderful trip for us to Morocco's imperial cities of Marrakesh, Rabat, Meknes, and Fez, along with visits to the coastal city of Essaouira and the commercial hub of Casablanca. Planning our trip was a breeze. Once I told Yassine we were particularly interested in food, history and culture, he recommended places to visit. I did some research and we settled on an itinerary. Although we spent a bit of time driving between destinations, that was an interesting experience in itself, seeing the rich farmlands and remote villages. Yassine selected several beautiful riads, bed & breakfasts which are elegantly refurbished homes located in the middle of the old city Medinas. The riads, with their central courtyards and lovely detailed tile work and wood carvings, were a quiet oasis and gave us a genuine feeling for Moroccan history and culture.

We began our journey with a few hiccups, arriving late to our connecting flight from Casablanca to Marrakesh. Our driver, Muhammed, coordinated to have us driven instead of waiting 4 and 1/2 hours for the next flight. When we weren't able to retrieve our luggage, we waited two days before it caught up to us. In the meantime, Muhammed was terrific. He was warm, friendly, flexible, and completely reliable. He patiently took us back to the Marrakesh Airport several times until the luggage finally arrived.

Although we enjoyed our entire trip, we particularly loved walking through the Kasbah of Rabat, the bustling Medina of Fez, and visiting the beautiful beaches of Essaouira. Our guides in Marrakesh, Rabat and Fez all gave us wonderful historical background on each of the cities and a sense of present day Morocco.

Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to explore this beautiful country. We will definitely use kimkim and Yassine to plan our next visit!

Everything else was perfect. Our driver, Mohammad stayed with us the whole trip was phenomenal. Great car with wifi. I highly recommend getting a driver for the week. We had an excellent guide in Fes. Our guide in Marrakech was fine but seemed obliged to tell us things and lacked passion about the city. Radia paid for a final dinner at one of the finest restaurants, The Maison Arabe, in Marrakech based on some disappointment in our final accommodation. The accommodation was actually fine but not what we were expecting. Radia checked in on us through our whole trip. The company, Morocco Experience was excellent. I would highly recommend using them.

We spent seven days in Morocco, starting and ending in Marrakech, with a four day trip out to the dessert and back in the middle. He selected excellent accommodations for our family of four, and suggested two activities in Marrakech that we would recommend - a walking tour in the Medina (our guide Mohammed was very knowledgeable although soft spoken and sometimes hard to understand) and an excellent Moroccan cooking class through the Riad dar Attamjil. Yassim and Zachariah at Dar El Masa in Marrakech were very helpful and welcoming. They kept us on schedule by communicating with our tour providers and giving us advice and directions on how to experience the medina, souks, and parts beyond. Breakfasts were lovely, rooms were comfortable and quiet. Our guide/driver Mohammed was exceptional. His English was very good and he struck a great balance between educating us about Morocco and allowing for downtime. He really made this part of our trip the best it could be. Comfortable, clean van with wifi and plenty of water. Our teenaged children loved the camel rides to/from the desert, it was a highlight for them. La Perle du Dades was a beautiful kasbah near Boumalne Dades, very family friendly with games, a lovely pool and courtyard and fantastic dining. Kasbah Titrit near Ait Benhaddou was also top notch with spectacular rooms, excellent food and service. In every place we met with friendly people, full of pride in their country and incredibly warm and welcoming.
We would recommend KimKim's services to anyone traveling to Morocco - we would never have been able to relax and enjoy our trip this much had we tried to plan it on our own.

Our overall experience planning and booking our Moroccan tour with kimkim was very positive, especially because of the efficiency, professionalism and very timely responses from our local specialist, Brahim. While planning the trip, Brahim was very attentive to my special requests and responded to my questions often within minutes. While on the trip, I emailed him twice and on both occasions he responded back promptly with the information I had requested. On our last night, he even called the Dar where we were staying and spoke to me to check if everything was OK.
Regarding our experiences during the tour, our English-speaking driver Mohammed was very professional and friendly. The car was clean and comfortable and he provided fresh bottled water. He pointed out interesting landmarks on the way and shared historical information. Our assigned guide in Fes was substituted by Said, who was very knowledgeable and informative.
A couple of tips/suggestions for improvement:
1. The rest rooms in the rest areas where we stopped were not equipped with adequate facilities and the only time I had no option but to use one, it was “horrific”. I suggest the driver chooses only those test stops that have proper facilities or that people are warned in advance so they know what to expect.
2. As a Muslim, I was really hoping to pray in some of the famous mosques but unfortunately the mosques are open only during the short time of the congregational prayers and shut at other times. This was personally disappointing and I would not have had raised expectations if I knew this in advance. Similarly, one of my priorities was to visit the library in Fes university, the oldest university in the world, and look at ancient manuscripts of the Holy Koran. Sadly, we were informed that visitors are not allowed inside and could only stand by the closed gates. I know this is outside the scope of tour organizers but prior information would be helpful in managing one’s expectations.

We had a fantastic time in Morocco and were so happy we chose Kim Kim to help plan the trip. The driver provided, Racheed was extremely attentive, and very good with my two kids who accompanied me on the trip. He made sure we were taken care of and kept us safe throughout the entire trip. I had a birthday during the trip, and without my knowing, he arranged for a cake during one of our hotel stays and provided our party with a couple bottles of wine to help celebrate. Completely unexpected but very much appreciated.
We had our first flight to Casablanca cancel, and Brahim and his team were flexible enough to ensure that we didn't lose very much of our trip while we lost a day of our itinerary. They worked hard to ensure we were caught up as quickly as possible with our original itinerary.
There was a small misunderstanding on our desires during one of our days. Once the issue was brought to Racheed and Brahim's attention, they were apologetic and worked to make things right the following day, including buying our group of 8 lunch to make up for the mixup.
The Roads and hotels booked by Brahim and his team were top notch. Every night when we checked in to our accommodations, we couldn't believe our eyes on how nice, clean, and unique each property was. The desert camp near Merzouga was definitely a highlight.
When planning the trip, I was wary that Kim Kim would be price competitive. In fact, they rate offered was lower than I could have done on my own, with more features and the benefit of inside knowledge on the best places to stay throughout our trip.
Bravo to Racheed and Brahim and their team.
