Active and Adventurous Family of 5 to Iceland

Family of 5 visited Iceland in August 2017

“Hello! We are an active and adventurous family of 5 (husband, wife, 2 college-age sons, plus mother-in-law) who will be traveling to Iceland for the first time. We'd like to see the beauty of the country on a self driving tour and include some hikes of moderate difficulty along the way. We'd like to focus primarily on the West and South of the country, although we're open to exploring other areas as long as it doesn't mean spending the majority of the days driving long hours in the car.

We also would like to rent a 4WD vehicle and have comfort accommodations booked in advance for us (1 double, 1 triple). We'd prefer not to be around large crowds if possible.”

Chris McCarty, a local specialist from Iceland, helped this traveler put together a customized itinerary based on Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Southern Highlights, and Golden Circle: 7-9 day Itinerary.
