Hi, welcome to kimkim!

Thank you for contacting us to help with you trip plans for Iceland later this year. Do you already have the arrangements for your camper van figured out, or is that something that we could help with as well? Or are you primarily looking for a driving itinerary and more information for how to spend your time?

we have the camper van booked from 9/14-9/20 and we have tickets booked for the Blue Lagoon on 9/19 so I'm looking primarily for a driving/places to sleep in the van itinerary and more information for how to spend our time.

Chris McCarty
Ok, got it. We normally focus on helping with the full trip plans more than just the itinerary portion. That said, we can put together a custom itinerary for your 8 days, along with info on places you are able to camp and some restaurant recommendations as well.

We can also help to make reservations for other activities such as snowmobiling and dogsledding, and there are opportunities to go whale watching in the north, or take a boat tour of the Jokulsarlon Glacier lagoon in the south as well.

I think that would work. Let me check with the group and get back to you.

Chris McCarty
Ok, let me know once you have had a chance to talk it over and what you decide.

I would like to proceed with you helping us create a custom itinerary for our 8 days, along with info on places we are able to camp and some restaurant recommendations as well. i will provide you with a list of attractions we would like to visit tomorrow. What do I have to do to get started?

Chris McCarty
Hi, I have added a payment link to the chat and can get started on it soon when you send the list of attractions to incorporate in the drive as well.

Hi Chris,

I will be paying shortly but I wanted to provide you with the list of attractions we'd like to see along the way if possible:
-Vik or black sand beaches
-waterfalls of some sort
-a hike across the barren landscape :)
-day in Rejkivik - we currently have reservations for the blue lagoon on 9/19 at 15:00 so I'm thinking it makes sense to schedule this to coincide
- northern lights permitting
- Ice caves

Chris McCarty
Hi, with the ring road drive you can visit all these areas. The Ice caves will most likely not open for another couple of months, as it won't quite be cold enough, but there is another option called "into the glacier" where you can walk through a manmade tunnel into the side of a glacier into an ice cave or sorts (but not naturally made).

That sounds perfect, thank you!

Traveler Review

I am SO glad we used Kimkim to organize our trip. I can't believe how quickly the time passed between booking our flights and when it was actually time to fly out. All of that planning I thought I'd have time to do disappeared in 6 months. It was so convenient to have an idea of the distances to travel, what to see and where, things to skip when we were short on time, and the highlights of each location. It brought a lot of peace of mind and much-needed structure to our road trip.

Chris provided exactly what we asked for, and went above and beyond when we needed last minute help and changes. His timeline gave us plenty to do on each day, and while we couldn't quite fit in every single thing, it was nice to know we already had our next destination planned and there was no time spent wondering where to go next.
