We'll be visiting Ecuador in early March. We have 4 days to do activities around Quito . We would like to see Mindo, ziplining, Otavalo, Quito, Cuicocha Lagoon, Peluguche Falls, etc. I do have hotels booked for Quito at Casa Joaquin. We are faily of 2 adults and 2 children (10&12 yrs old) so would like a dedicated driver that can bring us to all the locations.

Summary of the trip planning conversation

Below are some useful excerpts from the trip planning conversation
This is David Torres, from EcoAndes Travel, and it will be my pleasure to help you figure out the best possible vacation for you and your family. I understand your concerns for safety, comfort, and for fun activities, and I can assure you that we can find the best options for you! in General Ecuador is safe and has a great infrastructure for visitors to enjoy the country.

I can recommend the voyage starting with one full day exploring the city of Quito itself
Then I recommend one full day in Mindo, which is famous for it's biodiversity (I can assure you and your partner will have as much fun as the kids, since I find the place magical!)
Then you can go north to Otavalo, Cotacachi and Cuicocha, where I might recommend spending one night in the vicinity of San Pablo Lake. or in a nice hacienda in the area.

Aside from teh driver would you need guide or other form of travel assistance from us?
I hope to hear from you soon, and I can help you figure out everything for your trip!
Thanks fro the confidence in Kim Kim and on EcoAndes, I will do my best for your voyage to be unforgettable!
All the best, and happy Holidays
David
...
Hi David, thanks so much for getting back to me. I can't wait for this trip.  I've checked into some of the tours that are offered for groups, but that doesn't seem to fit for our family as we like to explore a little more, I don't always like to be on a tight time schedule and the Quito city tour for example has many hours of looking at churches, etc and I know my kids wouldn't like that many hours of churches. That's why I wanted to look into having a private guide that can take us to all the locations, but have it be more customized to how our family likes to explore. So, we would like to have transportation and guide services. If you could let me know the cost that would be great.
...
The following price options could be interesting for you, and offer full flexibility in terms of transport and Guide services so that once, or if you all decide to go to the next visit point or change the route every day, then it can certainly be possible!

Since there are 4 days, then I would recommend a plan like this:
Day 1: City Tour in Quito
Day 2: Visit to Mindo Valley, and cloud forest area
Day 3: Visit to northern indigenous markets, of Otavalo, Cuicocha lake.
Day 4: Visit to Southern highlands of Cotopaxi National Park & Haciendas (including a nice farm with many animals which could be a lot of fun for your kids!)

Traveler Review

David was responsive, friendly and helped with his expertise of travel and the country. I felt like he completely understood the needs of my family and what it took to make our trip the best ever. He answered every single question I had and helped to make our trip even more memorable with his suggestions of where to stay, eat, and what areas of Ecuador we should see. He helped to make sure every little detail was thought of and taken care of. I didn't have to worry about anything. I would plan every trip I had with David.. he was great!
