Seeking a relaxing exploration of Colombia

A couple visited Colombia in September 2017

“My wife and I would like to take a trip to Colombia that combines some exploring with plenty of relaxing time. So, we'd rather experience a few locations in some depth, rather than trying to hit all the highlights Colombia has to offer. I think 9 or 10 days would be great. We'd originally thought of doing this trip next Fall. However, it seems like that may not be the best time based on weather. (Not sure if it is just typical tropical afternoon storms, or more rainy than that - that's where some consulting would be good).

I'm intrigued in particular by what I've seen of Medellin, so would like to check that out. It would also be great to spend some time in Cartagena and along the coast. Other than that, we'd be open to what the experts can come up with in between. (In general, we'd be interested in hearing how we should spend our limited time there).

Our particular way of enjoying traveling is through photography, particularly nature, though I'd like to photograph colonial buildings as well.”
