From our first inquiry to KImkim about a private tour in Morocco, to when we said Good Bye to our incredible driver, Samir, at the airport in Casablanca, our experience couldn’t have been better.
Mohammed worked on the planning with us to make sure our itinerary was exactly as we wanted it. He was very responsive to all of our questions and concerns, answering emails day and night. Thank You Mohammed!
We were greeted at the airport in Casablanca by Samir, who we would be spending the next 16 days with. From our first handshake to our last hug we became family.
Aside from being our driver Samir was a fountain of information about all things Morocco, including information on every site we passed on a daily basis. He got to know our interests quickly and went out of his way to find things we were looking for. I unfortunately got sick on the 2nd to last day and was hotel bound for 2 days. Samir stepped up and brought us food and medication to ease my symptoms-
Thank You Samir!! Couldn’t have done it without you!
And lastly a shout out to Said who was the “ local contact” who helped us with a minor glitch at one of our hotels and got the problem fixed- Thank You Said.
I wouldn’t hesitate to travel with Kimkim again and would encourage anyone to give them a try.

How to begin this review—there are so many things to say, but probably should start with what every traveler wants to know—How safe is it? Without a doubt Samir Gummaoui is the safest driver I have ever ridden with anywhere, anytime in my life.
Whether on the mountain roads or in the crazy, frenetic chaotic Medinas’ one lane streets barely wide enough for one car let alone pull carts, pedestrians galore, bikes and motorcycles all vying for the same space—he was calm, pleasant, patient and managed it all with only centimeters of space to spare much of the time.
And another aspect of safety was his subtle, unobtrusive, backstage way of keeping an eye on us to make sure we managed the culture and environment safely and got to see all the wonderful things Morocco has to offer.

After safety, as a traveler, it’s the people you meet. And the first Moroccan we met was Samir who greeted us at the airport with a smile and genuine genial demeanor that never changed in three weeks. His opening comment was that he and his car were ‘ours’ and we were now ‘family’. And it seemed that we truly were.
Although there are apparently restrictions on what he can or can’t do as a ‘driver’ (he’s not a ‘guide’) in terms of where he could accompany us, we wished that he could have and would have loved to share dinners with him from time to time to just continue our discussions about so many things relating to Morocco and the world in general.
He is quite knowledgeable and a great conversationalist and along the way pointed out so many things that we would not have been aware of. He was wealth of knowledge about everything Moroccan—people, culture, customs and history. He made a ten hour trip from Fez to Merzouga seem like nothing. And importantly, he knew when to stop for breaks to walk around to enjoy the scenery and move our legs.

Samir went out of his way many times to make sure that we were cared for. When my wife became ill the last two days of our trip, he brought her meals and some medications I’d asked for to our room as she was not able to go to a restaurant. Again, to him, we were ‘family’ and he was looking out for us in every aspect.

I also want to give a lot of credit to Said who worked very hard behind the scene to correct some last minute hotel issues not of KimKim’s making. It being high season, there were very few hotel/Riad options, but they made it work for us in a very suitable way.

KimKim has been, from the start, a very easy company to work with. We planned a ‘non-standard’, longer than usual itinerary and Mohammed patiently worked with us to make it all happen to our liking. Also, would compliment their staff on being very quick to respond to any message we sent to them any time in the planning process.

I would highly recommend KimKim and all their staff and – to be sure, and if there is any way you can arrange for Samir to be your driver (and new family member) do not miss the opportunity!!

What an incredible trip! Our group of 6 family and friends had the best time in Morocco. First, when we starting booking this trip we were connected with Ali. He did a fantastic job creating the itinerary and answering all of our questions. Then Said was our emergency contact and while we didn’t need to interact much, it was always pleasant and professional. We were LUCKY enough to have two driver guides in Saadane and trainee Hamza. Saadane was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions during the trip and took our safety very seriously. Thank you brother! Hamza was always helping during the trip translating and buying roadside fruit and taking photos (have him take your photos!!!). We all agreed he will make a great guide! Chefchaouen was stunning and Saadane showed us some wonderful spots there. Then on to Fes. Our Riad was A+ and we spent a day with our local guide Mo Mo. He showed us all the historical spots and gave all the details. Then also brought us to all the best spots to shop! On to the desert! The Sahara is breathtakingly beautiful and the guide and experiences we had there I will never forget. Ride the camels and visit the Nomads. You won’t be disappointed. Ait Ben Haddou is a great pit stop on the way to Marrakesh. The Red City is another highlight and the energy in the Medina in undeniable. We got to experience both a walking and food tour with Hanan and it was such a treat to get to know her. She was so fun and I’m so grateful that we got to have deeper conversations on the second tour. She showed us all the great food stalls! Don’t leave Morocco without heading to the Hammam for a scrub! After 10 glorious days we had a tearful goodbye (maybe that was just me). Sending lots of love to our brothers Saadane and Hamza from MN and WI.

One of the most fun experiences of my life. Driving the 4x4s out to the camp is super fun and the drivers have some fun with it on the dunes. Staff are very welcoming and accomodating. The food it great! Tents only have AC at night but that was fine as we were out partaking in all the fun activities. Music and fire at night is really special.

This was every bit the amazing trip I thought it would be. From the careful attention of my driver, Ibrahim, who could not have been nicer or more helpful, to the great dars and riads I stayed it with their lovely staff to the wide range of tours and sights and experiences - this trip had it all. Megan was incredibly responsive in the planning stages and really helped me craft a once-in-a-lifetime trip. I've never known a travel agency so keen to help you create the trip of your dreams. It really was incredible. Thanks to Megan, Winnie, Ibrahim, Ahmed, Mr. Ibrahim and everyone else who made it such a memorable trip!

Our driver, Samir, from Original Travels, was friendly, knowledgeable, and skillful. He made sure that we felt at home throughout our journey and made sure that we were safe, while also providing flexibility to meet our needs and wishes during our drive.

Kimkim provided ex rllent and clear communication, while putting together an excellent tour for us of Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, Meknes, Volubilis, and Chefchaouen.

Overall the tour was well organized . All our request were met easily . Hotels were good . Tour and trip started on time . Van was not comfortable for longer trips . Tour guide needs to be better . I would rate Kim Kim 9/10

There was a lot of road travel and all was safe..kudos to the driver. The vehicle fell short of high standard though
Hotels were superb.
The guide stayed with us and was satisfactory.
I found Morocco, a country great, clean and safe but one could see a glimpse of developing countries, like no regard for zebra crossings and beggars.
I'd do it again but spending more time in one place rather than little time in lot of places.

We had 10 days in Morocco with two drivers. The hotels selected by KimKim were just right for our price range, beautiful views of the countryside, clean, well appointed rooms and mostly quiet at night. The hotels in Fes and Marrakech in the bustling Medinas were oases of peace in the heart of the city.
Of particular note was Dar Rihana, in Dades, with exquisite dinners.
We had two drivers, Hamada & Ayoub, due to a death in the family, with the handoff being handled seamlessly. Both drivers were eloquent and able to describe the culture and background of Morocco.

Our trip to Morocco was fantastic. We had Lahcen as a driver, he was such a nice guy and made it easy for us to have an enjoyable experience. Travelling is a small group (we were a party of 4) gives you access to experiences you would never get on a big tour bus. For example: Upon arrival in Merzouga in late afternoon, our 4 camels were waiting for us and we were led across the dunes to see the sunset then continued into darkness (1.5 hr camel ride with a guide) to arrive at the Tiziri desert eco camp. The camp staff had our 2 luxury tents ready for us, provided a scrumptious dinner, then played traditional Berber music for us around a campfire under the Saharan moonlight. It was a magical experience that I never would have had without the expertise of Kimkim tour (Said in particular) setting it up for us. Many thanks.

I wish I could give this trip more than 5 stars! From the first interaction with Abdellah and Said trip planning was easy and pleasant . The response time was extremely fast before and during our trip. We had a group of four people with different interests and tastes, Abdellah and Said were great at answering all of our questions, we really appreciated their suggestions of tours, restaurants and hotels in our itinerary. We all loved every single one of our guides.
Faissal, our driver was amazing, always on time and a great communicator , he went above and beyond expectations to ensure we got to see and do what was planned for that day and got us in and out safely, certainly, by the end of the trip we all considered him a friend!
Said (different person than above) gave us a tour of the Medina in Marrakech, very knowledgeable and was able to convey information in an interesting way, the day went by way too fast!
Youssef Azdour: Youssef was our guide to summit Mt. Toubkal, he did a great job keeping us safe, ensuring we had amazing food at the "refuge" (lodging just below the summit). We are thankful for our cook and porter too! Interestingly, he also leads ski tours (skinning up, ski down) in the winter, it was nice to hike with a local that knows the mountain and the community.
Abraham: Camel guide Sahara Desert. We all truly enjoyed our camel ride at sunset in the Sahara, a one in a million experience!
Youssef: Driver/guide in the Sahara at Tiziri Desert Camp, Youssef showed us around the Berber communities and homesteads, and enlightened us of the cultural importance of music, and geology in the area. We all enjoyed spending time with him!
Mohammad: ATV guide Sahara Desert; He did a great job in showing us the area, brought sand boards which was a ton of fun and was great at taking amazing pictures!
What I really appreciated was the high quality and authenticity of all of our guides, we would have never have found them if we would have booked this trip our selves!

Another highlight of the trip! Loved the Tiziri ECO Desert Camp! Youssef did an amazing job in showing us the Berber Nomad lifestyle, music and geology of Merzouga and Erg Chebbi area. We enjoyed the visit to the Argan oil cooperative, we were able to "help" make the oil with the local women and see the process in which it is made, Truly an enjoyable experience! We also enjoyed the l Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, Morocco's most famous kasbah and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it was great to get out and stretch our legs! We were a little skeptical about visiting the movie sites, but it turned out to be a lot of fun! our guide made a short video of us in the studio, once again the guide did a great job of making it a unique experience!

We visited a women's cooperative rose distillery shop where we learned how roses are turned into different products, we also purchased a rug in a small village, much different experience than Marrakech, in the small village rug shop we received photos of the women that crafted our rugs and a little history of the different tribes, an experience we will never forget! We enjoyed the visit to the fossil shop, it made us appreciate the geology in that area also we were able to visit the Khettaras traditional water system in the drylands.

We were impressed that all of our stuff got to where it needed to be, our large luggage bags were carried to our hotel in Imlil by mule as well as our small bags we needed for the night at the refuge were all carried by a mule, along with all our food!

Working with Majid to plan our perfect trip was simply amazing! He would answer our questions immediately, he would redo our itinerary every time we wanted to do something different, he was so easy to work with, very knowledgeable and helpful with everything! Moha, our driver was simply the best! He made our trip personal, and accommodated to all our needs. He was so kind, knowledgeable, he made our trip so memorable. We would not have done or seen everything we did without him! I would highly recommend him! All our other guides were amazing. Very knowledgeable, so kind, attentive, and really wanted us to enjoy our experience.

The local guide was at times short-tempered and had little knowledge of some places.
The van provided for transport was old and was not fit for purpose. with no air-conditioning, wifi , music, or TV. Seats did not reclined and the leg room was inadequate .
All the hotels were below the 4 * level .
Overall, the holiday was Overpriced and did not meet the standard of holiday which was promised.

My husband and I had an amazing time in Morocco! The upfront planning was easy with Louis Shannon, his communication was clear and timely, and he has a great personality. I am a planner so I had done research before contacting kimkim which I found helpful, but you could easily leave it to them to plan. Our driver and guide, Younes Bouaid, was fantastic from start to finish! Younes was professional, fun, and became a friend during our travels. He had great tips and advice for each area we visited, the car was always clean, very comfortable, had great Wi-Fi, and he was a very safe driver. We tried to do 2-3 nights in each location so we could experience areas and not rush, we visited Marrakesh, Ouarzazate, Boumalne Dades, Merzouga (Sahara Desert), Fes, and Rabat. We enjoyed all the places we stayed, and the breakfast included was always delicious.

In Marrakesh we stayed at 72 Riad Living, loved it! Amazing Riad in the old town with a beautiful rooftop area and pool, the courtyard was really nice and very relaxing, the breakfast was always good and the dinner we had there was possibly our best meal of the trip, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The tours we did in Marrakesh were fun and very educational from a historic and cultural perspective. We did a 2-hour food tour with Moulay Rachid and an all-day tour with another wonderful guide. Definitely do a cooking class, we did ours at Cafe Clock and had a wonderful time. 4 nights.

In Ouarzazate we stayed at Kasbah Isfoula. Smaller boutique hotel with lovely rooms, nice bar and restaurant, fun artwork, and a pretty rooftop excellent for relaxing and enjoying view. I would not recommend the movie studio tour, the sets were not great, it is not like Universal Studios or other experience we have done. Also, the staff was very disinterested and bored. 1 night.

In Boumalne Dades we stayed at Auberge Chez Pierre. Beautiful area to visit, I wish we had more time there. The hotel is lovely and has a beautiful pool. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The dinner and breakfast we had at the restaurant was delicious. 1 night

In Merzouga (Sahara Desert) we stayed at the Luxury Camp Chebbi. The camel ride in was fun, tents were really nice, and the food was good. The staff was friendly, and we enjoyed the music by the fire. By doing the 2 nights we were able to do an interesting tour to see how the Amazigh live, look for fossils, explore the geography, and visit the Gwana and hear a maalem group perform. One tip, if you would like wine at the camp I would recommend buying at the hotel and taking it in with you, half the price, or checking what the price is before going to the camp so you are not overcharged like we were (we did get a refund).

In Fes we stayed at Palais Amani, beautiful Riad on the outskirts of the old city. The courtyard was stunning, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved the breakfast and enjoyed our dinner there. The room was spacious, and the rooftop area was very relaxing and has great views of the city and mountains. We also did the Hamam and a massage at the hotel and loved it! There is a cooking school that looked really nice as well. The tour we did with Fatima Zahra Hanafi was excellent and a real treat to have a female guide which is rare. We also had a delicious dinner at Riad Fes which also looked nice to stay at. The only thing we did not like on the tour was the tannery because of the smells. 3 nights.

In Rabat we stayed at Riad Kalaa, smaller Riad with a nice courtyard and rooftop with a small pool. The food was nice, and the room was spacious and comfortable. I also really liked the artwork and ambiance of the shared spaces. The sunset in Rabat was beautiful and enjoyed our brief time there. 2 nights.

In Marrakesh we stayed at 72 Riad Living, loved it! Amazing Riad in the old town with a beautiful rooftop area and pool, the courtyard was really nice and very relaxing, the breakfast was always good and the dinner we had there was possibly our best meal of the trip, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed here for one night in a back courtyard room and the other 3 nights on the 2nd floor. Both rooms were very spacious, super comfortable beds, very quiet, and nice bathrooms. Conveniently located to explore the old town and markets. Would highly recommend staying here.

In Fes we stayed at Palais Amani, beautiful Riad on the outskirts of the old city. The courtyard was stunning, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved the breakfast and enjoyed our dinner there. They were kind enough to upgrade us to a super spacious room with its own private rooftop area. The room was really nice and the little extra attentions to detail were very nice. The overall rooftop was very relaxing and had great views of the city and mountains. We also did the Hammam and a massage at the hotel and loved it! There is a cooking school that looked really nice as well. Would highly recommend staying here.

In Rabat we stayed at Riad Kalaa, smaller boutique Riad with a nice courtyard and rooftop with a small pool. We had a dinner and breakfast at the Riad and thought both were nice. The room was spacious and comfortable and I really liked how it was decorated. I also really liked the artwork and ambiance of the shared spaces. Located in the old town and was very easy to walk everywhere, especially to the Andalusian Gardens, Kasbah des Oudayas, and the ocean.

Luxury Camp Chebbi

In Merzouga (Sahara Desert) we stayed at the Luxury Camp Chebbi. The camel ride in was fun, tents were really nice, and the food was good. The staff was friendly, and we enjoyed the music by the fire. The one full day we were there they did not communicate they were doing some work on the tents and that we would need to go to the hotel for a few hours after our tour. This caused some confusion with our tour guide who in the end took us back to the camp so we could get a our swimmers for the pool at the hotel. Also, we were overcharged for wine the first night and only found out because we went to the hotel. We did receive a refund after we requested it. I am giving 3 stars because of the lack of communication, the overcharge and how the manager handled it, and the awkwardness both situations caused . Tip, if you would like wine at the camp I would recommend buying at the hotel and taking it in with you, half the price and no hassle.

We had a great time learning to cook traditional Moroccan dishes with Chef Chaouen including Zalouk, Harira, Tagine djaj m’kalli, Tagine b l’hout, and Blighat b t’mer. We were welcomed with coffee and tea and then went shopping in the local market. We all purchased spices and got to see the smaller, local shops. We then went back and learned to cook all dishes and then got to enjoy them. The food was excellent. Definitely do a cooking class while you are in Morocco and Cafe Clock is a great place place too do it!

We did a 2-hour food tour with Moulay Rachid and had a great time. We got acquainted with the markets and the main square and tried some yummy food. We visited a small street eatery run by a woman that served the harira soup and tried it dates and a sweet pastry, it was really good. We stopped at a fresh juice bar and at the olive market, both yummy, and then went to dinner and tried our first tagine in Morocco. Moulay was great fun and shared interesting insights with us.

We stayed two nights and enjoyed the atmosphere of the desert at night. We arrived by camel the first night and really enjoyed stopping and watching the sunset over the dunes before continuing on to camp. We were the only ones at camp that night and had a great meal and then enjoyed local music by the campfire, it was a really beautiful night. The second night there were more people which made it a bit more lively. The tents were really nice and while we were there they were upgraded the tents so I am sure they have only gotten nicer. I would definitely recommend doing at least one night in the desert.

He took us to have tea at a Amazigh camp, we then went to explore the diverse geography of the desert which included visiting an old mine and looking for fossils, and the highlight was visiting Khamleya and the Gwana to listen to a maâlem group perform music and dance. I highly recommend this tour so you can see what is like to live in the desert and experience the Gwana maalem music and dance.

A day of exploring Fes with our fabulous guide Fatima Zahra Hanafi. Fatima is 1 of 10 female tour guides in Fes which made our tour even more special. Fatima was very informative, had a great personality, and we felt like we had seen the old part Fes by the end of our tour. We visited Al Attarine Madrasa a 14th century school for Islamic studies, Aben Danan Synagogue, walked the Mellah district, visited Art de Poterie ACH where they make the beautiful mosaic tiles and pottery, walked the Medina with its narrow streets and different artisan areas including a rug shop that supports local woman artisans and a tannery, and saw the Royal Palace of Fes and Al Attarine Madrasa Mosque and University Kairaouine. I would highly recommend this tour and Fatima as a guide.

We had a nice time tasting wines at Château Roslane Boutique Hotel & Spa. The parts of the hotel we saw, including the beautiful pool which boarders the vineyards, were beautiful and the bar area where we tasted was very comfy. It was raining so we couldn't walk in the vineyards. After we tasted at the hotel we were taken on a tour of the winery and bought a few wines, much cheaper then buying in the hotel, from the little wine store in the winery. They had a really nice red but unfortunately it was sold out so only got to taste it. It would be a great place to stop and relax for a day or two.

This is the first time we booked a vacation via KimKim and we mainly did it, for peace of mind when traveling with small kids. It was also our first trip to Morocco and we were all very excited about the fact that we were planning to visit more than one city, knowing everything was taken care of.

We had the same guide/driver, Hisham, throughout the trip and he made sure we were comfortable throughout the entire journey, as we went to Fes, Rabat, Casablanca and Marrakech.

There were many highlights, however I would very much like to name a few..
1. I loved the Riads in Fes and Marrakech... especially Riad Farouzi with its wonderful staff
2. The local guides in Fes and Casablanca... both very knowledgeable and interesting
3. The old Roman city in Volubilis, so very much different to rest of the Morocco we saw
4. But most of all I would like to highlight the fact that we were traveling during the last few days of the holy month Ramandan and the Eid al-Fitr and still we got the best tourguides that we could have asked for

Compared to Fes, we found Marrakech a bit overcrowded and touristic. However it was Eid and happy days.

The KimKim team put together a great custom itinerary for us. They adapted to our time table and the things we wanted to see and put together a good balance given we had limited time.

Our last day wrapped up with Oussama taking us to the airport and explaining many of the sites and history along the way.

Mohamed was patient as I was full of questions regarding Ramadan and the changes during that time. He had excellent recommendations, put my mind at ease about safety and transportation. I had an idea of many sites I wanted to see and he incorporated it in his recommended itinerary with ease. Great hotels and tours, I will definitely use Kim Kim again. If ever in Morocco, Mohamed will be the first person I contact.

Everything was wonderful!! From start to finish, the trip was well planned. Our driver Moha, was AMAZING! His knowledge, and kind nature made our trip one of a kind. The Riads chosen were beautiful and a nice variety. The excursions were awesome. Riding camel’s throughout the desert to our campsite was a favorite! The food everywhere was spectacular.
