Hi, welcome to kimkim!

Thank you for contacting us to help you with your travel plans to Iceland this summer. You picked a great place to focus your time, as the south of the country will be quite crowded at this time of year, but the north will only see a fraction of the people.

I will look into prices for a few different accommodation styles for you, and send you some options in a more detailed itinerary that I'm putting together for your trip. I'll also include the cost of the one way domestic flight back to Reykjavik.

Hi, Chris. Thank you for your help. I just forget telling you that this is our 2nd visit to Iceland. Last time we visited Reikjavik, golden circle and Snaefellsnes peninsula. So rather going to Reikjavik on the day 1, we'd like to drive to Akureyri. Then, we can return Reikjavik one day earlier and stay two nights. I'm thinking bus tour via south coast to glaciers like Svartifoss. In Akureyri area, we'd like to visit Dalvik area, too. Is that possible including in current plan? Thank you

Chris McCarty
Ok, that's not a problem, I can just remove the first day and you can start with that drive the day you land. Did you visit Borgarnes or Glymur falls on your previous trip? If not, I can include some stops there to help break up the drive.

Dalvik is not far from Akureyri, here are 2 possibilities:
1) Drive to Akureyri on day 1, visit Dalvik on Day 2 and then continue to Husavik and/or lake myvatn (do you want to go whale watching in either Dalvik or Husavik?)
2) Drive north to Siglufjörður and spend the night there at the very north of the country (can include some other stops along the way), and then on day 2 go through Dalvik, Akureyri (or save it for the day you fly back if you have extra time), and then continue to Myvatn area.

Do you have a preference for either of these?

Since we are shifting the days a bit, the availability and hotel prices may change slightly, but the current options could be a good indication. Have you had a chance to look at those? If so, what options were most inline with your preferences so that I can focus the updated search to match that more closely.

I am able to make the other reservations if you like (hotels as well as car, domestic flight, and bus).

To move forward with these reservations as well as the detailed driving plan with info on all the sights along the way, detours, and recommended restaurants, we would ask that you pay the kimkim service fee at this time.

Best,
-Chris

Ok, I completed payment.

Thank you.

I included an idea for a small group tour for your last full day in the itinerary, please let me know if that looks good to you (I'll need to know your hotel to schedule the pick up).

Also, did you see the different domestic flight times from Akureyri?
