Franscesca - Vatican and St Peter's Basilica: VERY enjoyable, and our guide was super knowledgable and passionate about her job. This made it a super fun experience. It was unfortunate that many of the areas in the Basilica were under reconstruction so we couldn't see them.

Sarah - Pompeii: One of my favorite parts of the trip. Sarah was funny, informative and extremely knowledgeable/passionate. Glad we added this at the last minute. Having a really small tour group, with just the 4 of us, made the experience extra special.

Rosanna - Naples Underground - She went way above and beyond, going to the hospital with 2 of our group, way past the time we were allotted to have her. Was so highly impressed at her professionalism, knowledge, and overall kindness.

Storywalking Team: I cannot say enough about how organized the team was, and proactive/timely in their communication. We all felt safe and in good hands the entire time!

Our coordinator, Andrea, was immediately and consistently available both before and during our visit (including the weekends!) and quickly helped to make last-minute adjustments as competing priorities dictated. Every service, including four expert tour guides (for museums, the Duomo, the Uffizi and Lake Como) were expert, polite, engaging and prompt. Every arranged driver for transitions and trips were punctual, polite and professional. And, the surprise highlight was the great "off the beaten path" experience of truffle hunting in the Tuscan countryside, and then transforming those truffles ourselves into homemade tagliatelle and ravioli pasta with locals hosts, who then served us in an outdoor balcony with a view of vineyards, farms and forests! Overall, Andrea, very well done and we were able to go at our own pace and still experience more than just the highlights, but also expert insights into our Florence, Lugano and Lake Como adventure.

Truffle Hunt and Cooking Class in Tuscany Countryside

The family and team here (3 generations!) are expert in the truffle trade, with a local farmstead with an excellent view of vineyards, farms and forests. Their well-trained and engaging truffle-hunting dogs were a hit and, within only a short walking distance, we were able to see multiple examples of the soils and trees that are best for production of truffles. We then transitioned with our guides into the "house" for our hands-on pasta making experience, including tagliatelle and ravioli including those same black truffles the dogs just found along our walk. The whole team is quite engaging and we even enjoyed getting to meet other fellow travelers experiencing the same while on their vacations. Highly recommend.

Incredible trip to Italy!! Valeria helped me plan the perfect vacation for six people. She thought of every detail and her team was outstanding! Beatrice was our faithful and delightful guide throughout the entire 10 day trip. Our drivers were prompt, professional and lovely. The tour guides we had for the historical sites were PHD level and so interesting and informative. Francesco’s tour of the Vatican even produced the Pope on our visit. Just a magical trip where I didn’t have to be the expert and waste my time figuring out the logistics. It was all done for me and as a result I really was able to enjoy. If you go with a group of couples it is best for each couple to get their own boat. The gondola guide was super grumpy and because of the balance of the boat my husband and my friends husband had to squeeze together and they were hot and uncomfortable and it just felt weird with the guide.

The views were great but my husband was miserable.

Our 10-day trip to Italy was a breeze to plan and book. We worked with Maria who was extremely helpful and was able to give us everything we wanted with constant changes being made; she was on top of things the entire time. All the tours and accommodations were top notch and just what we requested. Each adventure was better than the next. The tour guides were very enjoyable and knowledgeable and Rosanna, our tour guide in Naples went above and beyond walking us to a nearby hospital to check an infected bite. Without her there to help, I don't know what we would have done. The storywalking team was there at any given moment updating us and helping us along the way! Bravo!

Amalfi coast boat tour from Sorrento (Amalfi & Positano)

We saved our best excursion for last. This all day boat tour was absolutely incredible and our boat captain, The "Fonz" was super fun and made the trip memorable. Hand made sandwiches and snacks on the way around the coast to a stop at Amalfi where we had an hour to shop and experience the area. Then, on to Positano for an hour for more exploring. After that we anchored and had a leisurely 45 minutes swimming and relaxing in the Sea off the coast of Positano. Continuing back we stopped at blue grotto where we fed the fish. The very best part of our trip!

Our guide was very knowledgeable but sometimes hard to hear as there are lots of twists and turns during the tour and the earpiece couldn't pick up his microphone. We had stayed at this boutique hotel before (14 years ago) and liked it so much much that we requested to stay there on this trip. While the hotel was still visually interesting (the interior decor), the hotel had undergone renovations and our hotel room (the same room as 14 years ago) looked very different. It was no longer split-level and had a lot less space. Otherwise, the stay was okay. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

My trip to Italy was my first experience abroad, and I had a great time! Elisa at KimKim was exceptional in her organization and exhibited high service excellence. A couple of minor issues were quickly and uneventfully resolved, and Elisa showed empathy and interest in our experience. The itineraries were terrific, and I learned a lot each day. Elisa responded to questions in a timely manner and I felt well cared-for from her end.

I have never used a travel agent before, and this was a wonderful experience. I am already thinking about a return trip to Italy, and I will consult with Elisa again!

Our trip took us from Bologna, to Florence, to Rome over 10 days. The itinerary and accommodations provided by Lorenza went off with nothing more than two minor issues noted below, which I offer only as constructive advice. And "Thank You" to Andrea for his real-time support in Rome.
In Bologna, accommodations at Hotel Aemilia were excellent--our favorite place on the trip. The only minor issue in this leg of the trip -- not enough time to enjoy Museo Enzo between arriving by train at Modena Centrale, and catching the shuttle bus to Museo Ferrari (40 minutes total were allowed, including time to walk to/from the Museo and train station. Too short. I missed the shuttle bus and took a taxi from Modena to Maranello so I could enjoy the Enzo museum). We also had a day trip to tour and sample parmigiano/reggiano, prosciutto, and balsamic vinegar in Emilia-Romagna. A real treat to have a private tour guide (there, and in every city we visited)-- we HIGHLY recommend this format. All of our tour guides were super-knowledgeable, fun, patient, etc.
Florence was our favorite place--SO much history. One highlight was our tour of the Chianti region (the only group tour we had, and there were only 11 of us in total, so no issue). Drinking wine and eating great food makes for quick fun together! Would go back to Florence and the Tuscany region without any hesitation. Accommodations there were excellent at Hotel Garibaldi Blu--very quaint, right near the train station but very quiet inside.
Rome was a whirlwind. Accommodations at Hotel Navona Colors were comfortable but a notch down from the other places we stayed. Private tour guide was absolutely, positively worth it! The only concern on this leg was actually in Frankfurt, our one stop on the trip home. We had 1 hr 20 min between our scheduled arrival in Frankfurt, and departure from there to Raleigh/Durham. Rome flight was 20 min late arriving, and then the German border/passport control process was SLOW and CROWDED. We narrowly escaped missing our flight from Frankfurt to Raleigh/Durham, being the last two persons on board. For a transatlantic trip, we like to avoid cutting this so close!

I would recommend KimKim, and Lorenza, without hesitation. THANK YOU for making our first trip to Italy memorable, and we are certain to return there soon. Ciao!

Wow.. what an amazing trip to Italy all thanks to Luca!! He helped plan an action-packed trip with just the right amount of relaxation. From Florence to Sorrento to Rome, Luca helped curate the perfect itinerary that included tours, a cooking class, and a boat ride to Capri. The private transfers to and from the airports/ train stations eased our minds so much in knowing there was a ride waiting for us. Luca was a DREAM to work with and answered all our silly questions, helped when we were in a bind, and gave some amazing recommendations. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect, but can honestly say it exceeded my expectations and I will 100% use kimkim again.

Our trip was spectacular. It was incredibly well organized, custom to our preferences, and the entire team was attentive throughout our trip. I couldn't have asked for a better experience with them. Even during the trip when flights were canceled, this team was always available and made necessary transportation changes to keep our trip on track. All of our interactions and tours were an A+. Honestly, one of our favorite hotels that we have ever stayed in. This was an incredible mix of the well-appointed high-level hotel with the charmed mix of Bread and Breakfast. A very limited number of total rooms made it feel incredibly personal. Our room and view were unbeatable. We had an unobstructed view of the entire bay. Everyone working remembered you by name and was extremely courteous and happy to see you. Incredible homemade Italian-style breakfast and Happy Hour charcuterie tables were out every day. The pool was RIGHT on the ocean, with arguably the best view in all of Sorrento. We had private steps down to the marina, shops, restaurants, and beach clubs. The style and decor were incredible. It has been featured in numerous travel magazines etc. This is a can't-miss stay. It elevated our entire experience of our spectacular trip!

Fine. It checked every box for a city hotel. It didn't have anything great, but nothing terrible. Food was below average for this nice of a place. The bathroom was below average. The location to the Colosseum and Forum was exceptional. The room was average. If we were to stay in Rome again, we would stay elsewhere.

The entire trip was incredible, from Rome to Florence to the gorgeous golf resort, Castelfalfi! Beatrice met us at the airport and gave us so much assistance, navigating us through the busy terminal. First class service all the way. A special treat was our tour guide Gianluca, who was constantly telling us little tidbits about the city as we traveled on his golf cart tour. He captured great pictures of us around the city in various locations. Our day at Marco Simone Golf Course and Club was fabulous. The staff there attended to our every need. Beatrice led us to the train station and didn’t leave us until we were on our train. In Florence, we were met by Ms Lucia who led us to our new hotel in the heart of Florence. Our tour guide there, gave us a great three hour tour thru the city, visiting Michaelango’s David along the way. When it was time to leave Florence we were driven to the Castelfalfi resort. A little glitch with the transportation arose, but the hotel notified us there would be a fifteen minute delay, due to an emergency car repair. A new driver promptly arrived and led us thru the Chianti region as we went on a wine tasting tour and led to a fabulous lunch where we met a world famous butcher as he prepared each cut of meat we would taste! Lunch was superb and then we landed at the best resort ever. Castelfalfi not only had a great golf course, it was one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. The views from our room and from the patio and pools were breathtaking.
An amazing trip!! Kimkim delivered quality service. There were no unanswered questions and someone by our side as we traveled to our final destination- Amalfi. They even arranged our destination to coordinate with family members, so we would all arrive at the second week of our trip at the same time. I highly recommend kimkim to anyone traveling outside the country!!
