Updated interiors and new top-floor rooms add some modern style to this older chain hotel that's been welcoming guests to Corfu for over 50 years. The elevated position south of Corfu Town offers scenic views over the Chalikiopoulos Lagoon, with the UNESCO-listed center reachable in 10 minutes by taxi. Rooms are spacious and well-equipped, with private balconies and marble bathrooms, and other amenities include an on-site restaurant, two bars, a fitness room, and a large outdoor pool.

Pros
  • The newly refreshed rooms are spacious and comfortable, with private balconies and marble bathrooms.
  • You'll have panoramic views of the Chalikiopoulos Lagoon from the central pool area, which includes inviting lounge areas and a poolside bar.
  • Dining options include an American-style buffet breakfast, Ionian cuisine at the Amvrosia Restaurant, and two bars for cocktails and light bites.
  • Buses stop right outside the hotel and connect you with Corfu's Old Town in 25 minutes.
Cons
  • The proximity to the airport means you may hear planes overhead from time to time.
  • You'll need to travel by car or bus to reach the UNESCO-listed Old Town.
  • Some rooms face the grassy garden area; the pool and lagoon-facing rooms offer better views.
  • WiFi can be patchy throughout some rooms and areas of the hotel.

Authenticity

This Corfu institution is part of the family-owned Greek Divani hotel group, and you'll spy its 1970s origins in the mid-century block-style architecture. A recent 2024 renovation refreshed much of the property's more dated and tired aspects, including redesigning the central pool area and adding a new top floor. Most rooms still have the neutral, somewhat bland decor of a chain hotel, but the upper Executive units, common areas, and restaurants now have more contemporary flair, with inviting outdoor spaces and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Location

The hotel lies south of Corfu Town on Kannoni, a green hillside just past the former royal estate of Mon Repos. It's a 10-minute drive or taxi to the UNESCO-listed Old Town, or 25 minutes by local bus (there's a stop right outside the hotel). The elevated setting affords great views over the inland Chalikiopoulos Lagoon, home to the tiny Pontikonisi (Mouse Island) and the Vlacherna Monastery, and it's generally a quiet area (though the proximity to the airport means you may hear planes). If you're traveling with a rental car, you'll find plenty of on-site parking and multiple EV chargers.

Rooms & Bathrooms

All of the hotel's 163 air-conditioned rooms were renovated and refreshed in 2024. The Essential and Superior options are bright and spacious, albeit somewhat characterless, while the new upper-story Essential units feel more sleek and contemporary. All rooms include private balconies and marble bathrooms with Greek toiletries; suites add separate living areas with sofa beds. Rooms overlook either the garden or the pool and lagoon—upgrade to the latter to make the most of the location.

Amenities

The large, newly renovated pool area is the star of the show here, with plentiful seating, lagoon views, and a poolside bar for drinks and light meals. Other dining options include the Amvrosia Restaurant (which starts the day with an American-style buffet breakfast and switches to more authentic Ionian cuisine for lunch and dinner) and the Rafaello Bar, where you can order cocktails and small plates on the terrace with sunset views. There's also a well-equipped fitness room on-site, and spa treatments like massages and facials can be booked in the outdoor garden gazebos.

Family-Friendliness

This is a popular hotel with families, and children of all ages are welcome. Family rooms sleep four comfortably with a large double and two single beds, and adjoining units are available for larger groups. Beyond the large pool, there's a fenced children's play area with swings and slides, and the kitchen offers packed kids' lunchboxes for outings. Cribs and babysitting services are also available upon request.
