Hi, thank you very much for contacting us. I am Linda, living in Norway and KimKim expert.

Norway is brilliant for families. We have, as you know, plenty of activities to offer.

One trip that we often suggest for families, is arrival Oslo. spend a day night or two, and then train to Geilo. Gelio is a mountain village / destination (famous for skiing wintertime) with plenty of options for families. Stay here for 3 - 4 nights and do day activities. Then take the train down to Flåm (including the steep Flåm Railway) and fjord cruise to Bergen for one last night. You fly out of Bergen.

This is a great start. We will review and get back to you. Can you suggest some attractions that may interest us along the way?

Hi, I'm glad to hear that you like the overall plan

Here are some suggestions for your day in Oslo:
1: take the public boat out to one of the islands for a walk and beach time with your kids. Bring your packed lunch with you to save cost on restaurants.

2: take the public tram up to Frognersetera for a walk down to Holmenkollen Ski Jump with great view over Oslo

3: make is a more learning experience and visit the Viking ship museum and Folk museum. Also accessible by public transport.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Linda, we are definitely interested and would like to book this soon. Can you provide the details on the hotel rooms and the travel itineraries which would be covered in the cost of the trip? We are concerned that hotels are not usually accommodating for 4 people and would require two rooms instead of one family room. If at all possible, it would be nice if the hotel had a swimming pool as well.

Thank you for your feedback.

In both Oslo and Bergen I have made sure that you will be booked in a Family room. Actually, it issuperior/juniorr suite rooms of about 30 sqm. All in one room. Hotel is in the city center, near train station in Oslo, and near where the boat is arriving in Bergen. Unfortunately not many hotels in Oslo and Bergen have swimming pools, so have not managed that.... But in Oslo, I can give you some good suggestions for where you can go to swim in the nature.. either by a lake or the sea...

In Geilo it is an apartment, located in the city center so you have all easy accessible. About 44 sqm, 2 bedroom, one with double bed and one with bunkbed. well-equipped Apartments, superbly located at the village centre of Geilo. Trains, bus station, shops, bars, restaurants and activities within walking distance. Hiking track and groomed cross country tracks runs by the Apartments. surrounded by beautiful mountain landscape and located just nearby great biking and tracking routes, fishing lakes and the idyllic Ustedalsfjorden.
