Authenticity

You'll enter the hotel through a brick archway and wooden door, set on a cobbled pedestrian street in the historic Albaicín neighborhood. The hotel is a renovated 16th-century palace with many historical elements, including Tuscan and Roman columns with Corinth (Greek) adornments, Arabic chromium-plated beams, and Renaissance-era wooden ceilings.

Location

The hotel is just off Carrera del Darro, the Albaicín's made street along the river. Though the hotel doesn't have views of the Alhambra, this street does, so you only need to take a few steps to enjoy the city's historic ambiance. You can easily walk to all the sites in the Albaicín, plus the Catedral de Granada.

Rooms & Bathrooms

Rooms are simple but maintain a few historic elements, like wood-beamed ceilings, tiled floors, and iron bed frames. Most have windows overlooking the inner courtyard, so opt for a superior room for more space and natural light, and families can book rooms with three or four twin beds. Bathrooms are just as simple as the room, yet clean and functional.

Amenities

When it comes to amenities, Casa del Capitel Nazari is rather basic. You’ll find the necessities, like free WiFi and elevators to the upper floors.

Family-Friendliness

Casa del Capitel Nazari Hotel is great for families, as children of any age are welcome, and children under seven get to stay for free. Family suites are available, and babysitting services are available for hire.

Other Highlights

The location and building history are the hotel's biggest appeal, but you can enjoy a decent breakfast buffet and relax in the inner courtyard. The hotel staff are wonderful and will go out of their way to make travelers welcome.

16th century building—such a treasure. At any moment, I would not have been surprised to see the three Musketeers come through a door. Please know that is located a short walk off the plaza—just about two minutes, and look for the sign pointing where you turn off the Main Street. My taxi driver and I were both a bit confused. Get the address directly from KimKim, because the hotel website gave me a different address, quite far away.

16th century building—fascinating.
Location
Historic area, lots of food options, and a minute from the plaza where you could choose to sit outside for your meal. Two minutes walk from the plaza and a very short walk to the cathedral area, which was stunning.

Tiny bathroom, but everything I needed was provided. I loved being able to open the shutters to an indoor courtyard and cool, fresh air.
