“Hi, my husband and I are traveling to Peru in May and wanted to include a trek to in our trip, but we are having a hard time finding a trek that fits in our dates. We don't need our whole trip planned we really just need the track option. If this is something you guys offer please let me know the options.
Evelyn Casallo, a local specialist from Peru, helped this traveler put together a customized itinerary.

5D/4N Salkantay trek
Summary of the trip planning conversation
Hi, My name is Evelyn and I am the travel specialist based in Cusco, Peru.
In May I can offer you our Salkantay trek, this trek is really beautiful, you will be in contact with nature, hike through the Andes and visit Machu Picchu on the last day.
Our groups depart every Sunday and we can take you on May 14th, you will be returning to Cusco city on the 18th at night. If you are interested in starting earlier, we have a group of 3 departing on May 7th.
The price of the trek includes transportation to the start of trek, all meals, camping equipment, an English speaking guide, pack animals who will carry the gear (8 kilos x person, we will provide duffle bag) and a first aid kit. It also includes entrance fee into the citadel on day 5, a guided tour, lunch that day and transportation from the train station to your hotel in Cusco.
It does not include: hotel in Machu Picchu Village on the 4th night and return train ticket. If you wish we can help you booking these services, just let me know your preference.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further question, I will be happy to help you.
Ok I would like to reserve or purchase two spots on the trek Please send information on how to pay. Also do you have a list of accommodations you recommend in the village outside of Machu Picchu? As well as, my husband and I have our own backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, and trekking poles is that something we should bring or do you prefer we use your equipment?
That is wonderful!
We provide tents, trekking poles, Thermarest sleeping pads. The only thing that we don't provide is the sleeping bag, I would recommend to bring your own.
In Machu Picchu village (a.k.a Aguas Calientes) I would recommend the following hotels:
Bed & breakfast:
- Rupa Wasi
- Hatun Inti
- Hatun Samay
- Casa Andina Classic
- Tierra Viva Machu Picchu
- El Mapi by Inkaterra
- Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo
