A whirlwind five day trip to Turkey made possible by the organisational efforts of Berat and company. All activities and transfers went smoothly and the accomodation was of a high standard. The highlight was the Hot AirBalloons over Cappadocia, a magical experience and a definite bucket list tick. Shout out to our guides, Hatice in Cappadocia and Volkan in Istanbul, for the depth of their knowledge and patience in guiding us through the wonderful sights. We really wish we had more days to explore this beautiful country and are grateful for an introduction, hopefully we can see more in the future. Tesekkur 🙏

Novotel Phuket Kamala Beach

This hotel is right on the sand/ocean. Our room had unobstructed ocean/beach views with surrounding bay views. There is a rooftop deck with a bar, happy hour food, a pool table and some games. The restaurant breakfast was excellent with many choices of food with everything I tried being very tasty.

The hotel was built with quality materials and was kept up nicely. The pool is shoulder deep at its deepest and has a kid wading pool area and stone finishes.

Location

For the Kamala Beach area this hotel, in my opinion, is located as perfect as it gets. The hotel is located at the North end of the beach with no other hotels to one side. The hotel is located right on the sand with swimming in the waste to shoulder deep water directly out front. The sand is fine without larger rocks (further down the beach there were some larger more coarse sand areas. The hotel is walking distance to the Kamala Beach town or an easy taxi ride into town. Many of the rooms are not on the water and do not have ocean views and are built further back from the beach but within an easy walk.

Staff

Had a little problem when we first arrived with our second room (our adult kids shared a room) and hoped it would be closer to our room. The receptionist was not very helpful but as it turns out there were no other rooms near us available.

Cleanliness & Comfort

The room was always clean, and the bed made when we returned. Towels were always replaced by the time we returned from our travels.

Bodhi Serene Chiang Mai Hotel (SHA Extra Plus)

The hotel is hidden behind an unassuming large wall with a door at the entrance but once you enter there were wood finishes, a large, raised courtyard with water features on the ground level and ponds surround the platform. The pool was nice but shallow and the bar/restaurant were next to the pool. The staff was always very helpful.

Authenticity & Character

The rooms were oversized with a king bed and a very large couch, chair and table. The bathroom had an oversized tub and the shower was large enough for 3 people.

Location

The location is near the airport and was within walking distance to the Saturday Night Market and the Sunday Market which were both fun to shop and walk around. Temples were close and easily accessible but the Elephant sanctuaries were around an hour and a half away.

Staff

The staff was very helpful when asked for walking directions, restaurants or different food choices.

Cleanliness & Comfort

Our room was always clean, the beds were comfortable and when we returned at the end of the day the bed was made, and the towels were replaced.

Century Park Hotel

Nice hotel, good quality of finishes. The gym was a little small and the pool was mostly in the shade in December but the people were nice and helpful with anything we needed. The included breakfast had plenty of options and the food was excellent.

The hotel was finished with nice stone finishes and custom woodwork throughout.

Reasonably close to the temples we went to see which was helpful due to the Bangkok traffic.

The staff spoke fluent English and were always very helpful whenever we had a problem to solve.

The hotel was very clean and kept up, the beds and towels were always clean and replaced when we returned.

This was a little too touristy with the first stop at an island that you have to pay to use a chair and the bathroom. The snorkeling was only a small portion of the tour, should have been longer. Everywhere we went there were hundreds of tourists and boats, this was a very commercialized tour.

Hi! Unfortunately It was so disappointing in many ways.
Lack of communication!
The overall experience did not justify the high price we paid for the higher package that we paid more compared to the regular level.
Every day seemed to bring new surprises—none of them pleasant.

-Mistakes on name of a hotel in our finalized itinerary, we went there and we didn’t have hotel reservation. Then we found out we were booked at a very simple and small hotel that our rooms were full of flies and small cockroaches. This wasnt even normal! Luxury???
My son scared and didn’t sleep at his room.

-For transportation
We were provided with an old Toyota for transportation, despite booking a higher-priced package that promised more premium services. The car did not match the level of comfort or quality we expected.

-One of the biggest disappointments was the “African food cooking class” we had requested. Instead of a proper class, we were taken to an introduction to Islam, which consisted of a prerecorded video and a presentation about the life of a Muslim from birth to death. While educational, this was not what we had asked for.After this, we were taken to a dirty, cramped room with around 27-28 people. The sink was filthy, and the hygiene standards were unacceptable. The instructor announced we would be learning to cook chicken masala—an Indian dish—not an African one. Having taken many cooking classes during my travels, I expected to learn a traditional local dish from a knowledgeable local cook, in a clean and organized setting. We couldn’t bring ourselves to stay due to the poor conditions, and other groups left as well. This was a highly disappointing and unhygienic experience.

I request a refund from Kim Kim for:

• The cooking class, which was not what we were promised.
• The difference in cost between the standard package and the 2nd level package we paid for, as the trip did not meet luxury standards in any way.

I cannot recommend Kim Kim to friends or family based on this experience. I hope the company takes steps to address these issues and improve their services.

Our driver Abdel was incredible! Perfect English, and an incredibly safe driver, we enjoyed our time with him!

Highlights:
Casablanca Mosque - Hassan II
Rabat - Wish we had a full day here to explore
Chefchaouen- The blue city was gorgeous, wish we had more than 24 hours here to explore. We stayed at the Lina Ryad and Spa; the inside pool was incredible! Such a gorgeous place to stay. Be sure to call ahead if you are interested in receiving a spa treatment.
Fez - Riad Farouzi Fez was the most beautiful riad and telework I have ever seen! We especially loved Badar who works at the hotel! KimKim should hire him ASAP! Our tour guide Sayed was so knowledgeable and relatable, the tour would’ve been overwhelming without him.
Merida Sahara - AMAZING! We rode camels into the camp and took a 4x4 on the way out. Such a gorgeous Riad that looked like an anthroplogie catalog - Riad Madu Premium Camp is highly recommended! Again, wish we stayed another day.
Valley of the Roses (Boumalne Dades) - Relaxing and enjoyed time meeting with the locals. An authentic experience. Michelle and Hussein’s Kazbah Tiziri is so beautiful, I want to come back in the summer or spring to use the pool and eat and read in the garden. My family and I learned so much from Michelle, she is an incredible woman, host, and cook!
Marrakech- The most modern feel of all the cities. Our tour guide Amnay was amazing, and a local musician! He showed us exactly what we were interested in, and was so helpful and patient while we shopped. He is a great asset to kimkim! Riad Diamond of Marrakech was gorgeous. As beautiful tile work as Fes and Chefchaouen, and the perfect location to walk to the sites, restaurants, and bars of Marrakech.

My family and I loved our tailored trip to Morocco. We will pursue future trips utilizing this site!

There were a few hiccups (not KimKim's fault), and it was great that KimKim was so responsive and able to help us with rebooking/refunds where required

Our family of four recently embarked on an unforgettable 10-day winter vacation to Greece, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. As vegetarians, we were thrilled with the diverse and delicious food options throughout our trip.

Traveling During Winter:
Visiting Greece in the off-season was a fantastic choice. While the weather was chilly with occasional rain, the festive atmosphere of Christmas made up for it. The lack of tourist crowds allowed us to explore iconic sites and picturesque towns at a relaxed pace. Some shops were closed, but this added to the charm of discovering hidden local gems.

Hotel Highlights:

Bohemian Suites, Athens: This boutique hotel was brimming with historical charm. Its central location made it easy to access local sights and restaurants, and the personalized service was exceptional.

Daydream Suites, Santorini: The name says it all! Luxurious and boasting a view that will forever be etched in our minds, this was a true highlight of the trip.

Dom Boutique, Heraklion: A comfortable stay with great accessibility to the city square. It struck a perfect balance between convenience and charm.

Casa Delfino, Chania: A luxurious hotel steeped in history and located right in the heart of the old town. The ambiance was unmatched, and the service impeccable.

All hotels served delightful breakfasts, tailored to our vegetarian preferences, setting the tone for each day.

Tours and Activities:
The guided tours were well-organized and insightful.

In Athens, the mythology tour was interesting but didn’t include the museum visit, something we realized later. Private museum tours are a must for a richer experience.

The private tour of Delphi was a standout, and having a knowledgeable guide elevated the visit significantly.

Our journey from Heraklion to Chania with Joanna was extraordinary. She is a treasure trove of historical knowledge and made the drive enjoyable with fascinating stories and insights. Crete’s hospitality, especially from its locals, left a lasting impression on us.

Travel Planning:
Angela from Kimkim deserves special mention for her meticulous planning. Every detail of our itinerary was thoughtfully crafted, including historical and cultural tours, transit arrangements, restaurant reservations, and free time for leisure. Her precision ensured our trip ran seamlessly, earning her our highest recommendation.

Overall Experience:
Greece in winter exceeded our expectations. The combination of festive vibes, historical wonders, luxurious accommodations, exceptional local cuisine, and heartfelt hospitality made this trip one for the books. Our overall rating: 4.7/5.0. We had an amazing trip to Chile (Santiago , Atacama and Patagonia area) this December. Fransisco had organized our trip very well. He was very good in communicating with us right from the start and keeping us informed about our trip including a detailed packing list. Our local specialist Angel was super nice and very helpful. Same with Jose who was our local specialist at Puerto Natales.

The guide was not helpful at all. He told us he will pick us up 6:10am and he will wait 15 mins as per his company policy, that should be 6:25am. He arrived 10 mins early and left early. We came down 6:20am and he left with out us and refused to come back. He left at 6:18am!!

While weather did impact some of the planned activities and transportation, Rufo and the team were so helpful in contacting missed tours and hotels. They were all an absolute pleasure to work with. Highly recommend the dog sledding tour in Tromso, as it was the highlight of our trip. Mar had made the recommendation to take the cable car up to view fireworks for New Year’s Eve and it was magical with the added bonus of the northern lights.

Amazing trip to such a gorgeous country. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our entire trip was. We traveled with a 5 year old, 10 year old and 14 year old. Frpm the moment our flight arrived into Brazil, we were greated at the airport with friendly staff who made us feel safe and comfortable. We traveled to Rio de Janeiro, Foz, Manaus and the Amazon Rainforest. Sara was amazing at customizing an once in a lifetime vacation for my family that allowed us to see the most amazing sites of Brazil from Christ the Redeemer to the Iguazu Falls and topped off by a unique stay at a 5 star ecolodge lodge in the Amazon Rainforest. I greatly appreciate how Sara was able to customize our travel requests so that we were able to accomplish all the activites that our hearts desired. She worked hard to coordinate and customize our hotel requests and made sure our travel was as seamless as possible. Our tour guides spoke English and were very patient with our whole family . Jess was such a sweet, caring and flexible tour guide. My children greatly enjoyed her througout the tour and we loved listening to her own music. In the Amazon, Nelson was such an amazing guide, he made sure we all were able to see and experience the wonders of the beautiful Amazon rainforest from hiking and learning about the wonders of the forest to piranha fishing and to caimen spotting and petting. I cannot say enough amazing things about how much we appreiate your travel team. We had a large gap in the ages of our children and a ton of dietary restrictions (Celiac (gluten free), Tree Nut allergy, a vegetarian and two meat-eaters) and our trip from the start to the end was perfect. My daughter even found two fully Gluten Free restaurants in Brazil that are her new favorites.

It is hard to put this amazing trio into words ! It is always a bit worrying planning a trip to a new destination , not knowing different locations , “ things to do” and of course the logistics of making this all happen. KimKim planned a perfect trip for our family of 12 ranging in ages from 15-82! Our days were filled with adventures including hiking , kayaking , zip lining, hanging bridges , exploring nature and wildlife, enjoying sunsets and the warm ocean. Everything was planned so perfectly. Serendipity guides and drivers were FANTASTIC ! They were always prompt , waited patiently for us as we often took longer on our daily adventures , never rushed us , went above and beyond in retrieving an item left behind at a hotel and driving it to us 3 hours away !!!! Their guides were knowledgeable, humorous and patient. One driver spotted 4 different sloths along our drive and pulled over every time for us to take pictures ! Kim Kim and Serendipity was so responsive to any of our needs. Their drivers even drove us to the grocery store so we could buy an anniversary cake , then to a restaurant that was recommended and spoke with the staff to arrange to have the cake brought out at the end of the meal as a big surprise. We made so many memories on this trip and to have 12 people happy over 10 days and EVERYTHING run so smoothly was priceless !!! Thank you !!!

The bad news is I can never go zip lining anywhere else because I just experienced the BEST and MOST AMAZING ZIPLING ever !!! Anyone who is going to Cosya Rico has to zip line here ! There were 11 in our group and I loved how we were able to stay together and watch everyone in our group take off and land. The staff was incredible , they handled all the equipment, all you had to do was enjoy the ride !!!!!

Emma did an absolutely amazing job planning and organizing our trip to explore the magic of the holiday season in Cologne, Brussels, Ghent, and Bruges! She was extremely helpful and attentive, from our first messages trying to figure out what we wanted to do and where we wanted to go, right up until the days before our trip when she provided suggestions for helpful phone apps and other details, big and small. Emma answered every question we had promptly and thoroughly, and she patiently made numerous changes and "tweaks" so we could shape a trip together that met our particular needs and wishes. Upon arriving at our first hotel, we had a welcome packet waiting for us with our train tickets, city cards, and other helpful information, well-organized and labeled. When we had a question during the first day of the trip, we received a response immediately, and were very impressed. We would use kimkim again for our vacation planning in a heartbeat. Emma truly went above and beyond to create a magical Christmastime adventure for us, and we are so grateful for her! Anyone who works with Emma to plan their trip is in excellent hands.

Our overall experience with KimKim while in Medellin/Cartagena was fantastic as we were taken care of from the moment we landed until the moment we left. Our guides and drivers were all welcoming and knowledgeable, if given the opportunity to recommend an activity from our trip we highly recommend the flower farm and coffee farm tours.

We loved our trip to Norway! The highlight for us was seeing the Northern Lights on our minibus chase with Chasing Lights out of Tromso, with our guide Mickey and driver Ahmed. Despite the weather cancelling some of our activities, we still had a fantastic trip. Since our trip was over the Christmas holidays, we utilized the KimKim emergency whatsapp line several times for communication, which was very helpful! It was also great to have help processing refunds for tours and that were cancelled.

Northern Lights Hunt by Minibus with Photographer & Campfire Dinner

Seeing the Northern Lights on this tour was the main highlight of our trip. Our guide and driver were fantastic, and the provided suits kept us warm! However, keep in mind that since the point of this activity is to view the lights, if it's a good night anticipate not having a campfire or dinner until late (for us, ~10pm) because you will be enjoying the northern lights!

The provided dinner for this activity was a choice between two "expedition meals" aka dehydrated backpacking meals -- I chose the vegan red curry and it was delicious! However I would make sure future guests know to expect this and that the meal may be very late depending on the lights that night. But the warm currant juice and cookies around the fire it was a cozy end to the night.

Both Wanessa and Bruno were incredibly generous and friendly people. They cared if we were enjoying the tour and always checked to see if we needed more time at the different locations. They advised about places to eat and looked after our wellbeing at all times. Communicating in English was easy with them. Bruno went above and beyond to give us the best experience touring Rio de Janeiro - Brasil. He helped us with different issues a few times.
