What a fantastic holiday. Croatia is an amazing country to visit and this holiday allowed us to explore the best it has to offer including city tours, quaint coastal villages and spectacular national parks such as Plitvice and Krka.

The people we met and stayed with on the way through were so friendly and helped make our holiday that much more enjoyable.

Bruno and the team were fantastic, the planning and organisation were excellent and everything went as expected.

Thanks so much for a fantastic holiday, we’d recommend Kimkim and especially Bruno to our friends and family if they wanted to visit Croatia, not that they’d need much convincing once they see the photos.

We were fortunate to have Deborah as our trip planner to northern Italy. She was beyond amazing in every way. She was always prompt when answering my (numerous!) questions and had great recommendations on tours, etc. She constantly stayed in contact with me during the trip to be sure that things were going smoothly. Our local tour guide, Enrico, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He was informative and so helpful at every step, making sure all of our drivers were on time and that we were happy with everything. He was really incredible and I can't say enough good words about him. I knew that if I had a question or concern, I would get an immediate answer from him or Deborah-- they were that on top of things-- even on a weekend night!
I would highly recommend anyone who is thinking of traveling to use Deborah. This is my 2nd time using Kimkim and I will definitely use them again in the future. They are top notch all the way around. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

Both of the cantina's were lovely. The 1st stop was at Fasol Menin and they provided an incredible spread to have along with our Prosecco tasting. The lunch that Deborah set up for us was at Trattoria Alla Cima and was a beautiful and scenic restaurant and the lunch was delicious.

The trip was well organised, the coach was always on time at the hotel, the driver was excellent, out guide Nooruddin was excellent. Said who was the back bone was extremely helpful and he went an extra length to make it sure that the trip ran smoothly, Said organised the services at the hotel well in advance, he always had a smile on his face even in difficult situation. The other helper on the coach like Hasan and Mohammed were also great. The other guide Ayub needs more practice and would be polished in the days to come.

I would recommend their services to any one who is planning to take a trip to Morocco. It was value for money.

The only improvement I would suggest is that the locally hired guides had vested interest in the local shops and they took us to various shops on the walking trip which was not ideal. They should be impartial and should show us the places that were of significant and walking around the shops in which they had made contract to bring tourists.
Overall the whole trip was excellent right from the start of booking till the end when we were drop at the airport on our flights to go home.

Our trip to Italy through Kim Kim was terrific. Kim Kim put together a great array of activities for us. We loved them all. Columba drove us along the Amalfi Coast and she was a great driver and fun companion for the day. Adriana was our knowledgeable guide at Pompeii and made the ancient volcanic city come alive for us. We had so much fun with Antonio, who guided us on our boat trip to Capri. We also enjoyed the hotel in Sorrento - it was beautiful and the service was great. And Melissa showed us the amazing delicacies of vibrant Naples on our food tour. Through it all, Alessandro was our incredibly responsive trip coordinator. We’re so grateful that he was there every step of the way. Highly recommend him and his team! Working with Kim Kim made our trip a dream come true!

Quick background - very experienced travelers, over 80+ countries at all sort of trip type/expense levels. Due to a variety of reasons we decided to rely almost exclusively on Martina /KimKim expertise and experience and take a fairly passive role in the specific trip planning. After relaying a detailed explanation of our desires/needs we let Martina set it up. She was earnest and attentive and overall did a respectable job but relied on some vendors whose performance was lacking which accounts for her rating. She apologized for the poor performance and attempted to take corrective action but damage already was done. Too many to relate but driver who spoke zero English, was late, etc; a hotel, the Dionoso Boutique Hotel in Syracusa that was among the worst I have stayed in in quite a while, from both an accommodations and performance standpoint, dining reservation made far in advance that was "cancelled". The major issue was the number of issues and the fact that they were basic performance issues, things that should go smoothly. Her reply to us "that has never happened before" was of no help.

We just got back from our 2 week Croatia/Slovenia trip planned by local tour guide/planner/extraordinaire Robi. The accommodations were perfect locations for getting around in all towns - Dubrovnik, Korcula, Split, Plitvice, Porec, Ljubljana, Zagreb. For group of eight, we had mix of home/apartments, guesthouse and hotels that allowed us to be together. All the hosts were friendly and helpful too. We totally appreciated the great level of service Robi provided, from arranging city tours, drivers, ferry rides, restaurant recommendations and reservations, suggestions for stops along the way to next location. He truly shared his love of Croatia with us! We enjoyed the small family run restaurants in Kolocep & Ston- top notch fresh seafood, and homemade rakija and breakfast spread in Plitvice. It was an amazing trip with mix of educational, cultural, natural and fun! Highly recommend!!

My trip to Indonesia was absolutely amazing. Incredibly well organized and extremely versatile. Every day drivers and guides were punctual. Everything was smooth, and I was also able to change or revise plans in real time by interacting with my local guide based on the weather or my personal interests. Guides were knowledgeable and very professional. Everyone made this trip a memorable experience. 100% recommended!!

Our local specialist was Vesna Luzar and she was incredible! From tracking our luggage which made a 3-day side trip to Vienna and dispatching our driver to the airport to retrieve it in time for our departure to the next destination, to assisting in locating my cell phone left behind on the speedboat excursion, Vesna was a shining star! Our only regret is that we did not get to meet her and personally thank her for her excellent service! She handled each of our challenges with great efficiency and aplomb and we feel pretty certain that she breathed a sigh of relief when it was all over!

Each of our guides was very well-informed and personable and in very short order made us feel like friends. Every excursion exceeded our expectations and left us wishing there were more hours in the day!

Difficult to approach from the marina. A lot of steps uphill while carrying luggage. No one to assist.

Unwelcoming and not very caring registration staff. Dining room and bar staff was not very friendly or accommodating either. Waited at bar to get a drink and it took so long that we finally left. We could not figure out what the problem was.

Clean but not very comfortable in terms of lighting and mirror placements. Could not find a hair dryer when my own dryer failed. Asked a staff member in the hallway and found it in a drawer in the bedroom under the minibar. Would have never thought to look there! The lady responsible for our room was the only person who seemed to care when I asked about a hairdryer.

Lovely little boutique hotel tucked at the end of a narrow street. Initially was a bit difficult to find as we had to be dropped off at the bottom of a somewhat steep street with our luggage since cars cannot go past a certain point on the narrow street. Warm and welcoming staff. Although this is a new construction only a few years old, it fits right in with the surrounding area's character. Had requested two beds but only had one in the room so we used the sofa as an extra bed. However, the staff was very accommodating in providing extra linens. Easily accessible to the center of town.

Our mom/daughter trip to Morocco turned out better than I could have imagined. The KimKim team was great to work with. They were so friendly and professional, and as we were traveling when the earthquake happened, they were quick to make sure we were safe and fine. Our driver, Ilyace was amazing. He remained very much engaged with us, even after the earthquake happened, which was so appreciated, especially with having family and friends in Marrekech. We made such great memories and learned so much about this beautiful country, it’s history, culture and friendly people.

Amandine was amazing! Working with her was so easy and she was very receptive to my requests. She ended up putting together a fabulous trip for us. We were especially impressed by her quick response when our train was delayed causing us to run late to a dinner cruise. The tours and classes she found and booked for us were definitely the highlights of our time in France. Our whole trip was stress free because of her hard work. Would definitely recommend!

Everything went so smoothly! There were a few bumps in the road ( it comes with travel), but Fanny quickly got things right. KimKim’s choice of a biking company was spot-on. We highly recommend KimKim & Fanny.

The train system in Italy was very punctual and efficient. Lake Como, the Belvedere Hotel, and boat ride on Lake Como were amazing. The food tour in Florence with Aldo was mediocre, as was the Frame Hotel in Florence. Fabio, our travel agent, was extremely helpful and responded quickly to any issues we had.

I wasn't really sure how to approach a trip for Japan so I was grateful to the suggested itinerary by Fei that helped me eliminate things I didn't want to do and focus more on the ones that I did. Having hotels, transportation and guides all sorted out made the planning a lot easier and allowed me to only have to focus on a few things. Our guide in Tokyo, Yumi was excellent. She had great energy, sense of humor, and really thought about our wellbeing during the day. I can't recommend this guide enough, she went beyond what I've seen other do. Satimo who guided us through Kyoto and Osaka spoke excellent English and really shared with us her story of life in Kyoto as we trekked all over the city to very interesting sites. She demonstrated patience and understanding on one of the hottest days of our trip. Both guides provided great history to the sites we visited and were able to answer all questions about Japan and life there. The activities booked without guides were excellent too. The tea ceremony in Kyoto and visit to the Samurai museum are must-dos for any visit there.

Premium Twin Room, beds were pushed together which we immediately had to seperate but had limited space to do so. The majority of one side of the room was taken over by an oversized daybed. This could be half the size in the room and still be very useful and make more space for the table and chair by the window to not make the space feel overcrowded. The closet is not enclosed here. This was my favorite bathroom set up of all places I stayed. The sink area had plenty of counter space for storage of personal items. The shower was huge and easy to operate to the right temperature. The breakfast buffet had the most fruit selection of all places I stayed at because they had bananas. The tricky part of this hotel is that you go up to level 16, then take another set of elevators down to the rooms. There wasn't a constant presence of taxis in front of the building but the front desk was happy to call for one and let us know when the car was downstairs.

Kyoto Tokyu Hotel

Premium Twin Room was very large and spacious. A lot of seating options. AC was controlled by the hotel but was a comfortable level. There was an in room air purifier/humidifier. I don't know if it helped as I developed a scratchy throat during my stay here. I also woke up with a puffy face, having an allergic reaction to something in the sheets/pillow. There are not enough bedside outlets. There was only the one in the middle for 2 people to split. So instead one of us had to leave our phone on the other side of the room charging and could not have it bedside. The breakfast buffet was very good and had a great variety of foods to choose from. The shuttle to and from Kyoto station saves this hotel. It is too far to walk with luggage to and from on any day, let alone a hot day in September. I with the shuttle was larger and more frequent. The location of the hotel is out of the way of most things. Thankfully there seemed to always be a taxi available. Food options in the area are difficult to come by but it did lend itself to the most authentic food place we ate at on our trip (we were the only foreigners in the restaurant).

The standard twin room was very small. Couldn't really find a place to have my luggage opened all the way, had to pull everything out (thank god for cubes) and then leave the suitcase under the bench the rest of the time. There is NO STORAGE in this room. The bathroom has NO COUNTER SPACE. Everything had to be brought into the bathroom if you were going to use it. The biggest plus about this hotel is the location. Right by Shibuya station, Miyashita Park and the famous scramble. So much to shop and eat in the area!

Full Day Tokyo City Tour with Senso-ji Temple

Yumi was our favorite guide of the trip. She was so knowledgeable, thoughtful and fun to spend the day with. She gave a great history lesson of the country and related stories about what we were seeing. She brought us handheld fans to deal with the weather of the day, bottled water and even hydration tablets which then became our obsession of the trip. She had great energy and humor that matched ours.

It was pure bliss and joy seeing you all after 43 years, experiencing waves of emotions, recalling our golden years, and creating new pleasant memories. Being with you all was fun—but was it a fun and relaxing vacation overall? Not sure about that. A 10- to 12-hour bus ride and packing and unpacking was challenging.

Sightseeing is excellent, but I would recommend adding some fun and relaxation time by including a few optional activities so people can experience the local exotic culture, as well. For example, our APPNA Chicago group trip to Morocco had a bull and horse show followed by a musical dinner show. In Buenos Aires, we arranged to attend an opera at one of the most prominent opera houses in the world. Tango originated in the slums of the city; after seeing the ruins where it started, we went to experience the tango show with dinner.
Nuruddin, our guide in Morocco, is a hiking guide—I wish there were an option to go hiking one day because we have a limited amount of time to enjoy that kind of activity before we get too old for them. 

There are so many exotic golf courses in unfamiliar places—there should also be an option to play golf. There should be an option to take a small plane to travel from one city to another, instead of riding on a bus for long hours, which wastes time. There should be an option to pick hotels, and there should also be a few organized group dinners so everyone can enjoy everyone’s company. On winter resort vacations, a skiing option should be available.

Merzouga was my favorite place. We could ride camels, enjoy the enchanting music and dance, and get a feel for the local culture. 

All the tour companies offer various options and suggestions for different things to do in the evening before dinner. This is how we travel with friends, and I would like to do those things if I decide to join our next trip. Naturally, though, everyone's choices and preferences are different, and I respect that.

We loved it at the camp. The rooms were excellent, the people and the guides were terrific, and the Camel rides were fun. I enjoyed Ayub’s musical skills. I can't say enough about Saeed; he is excellent, hard-working, and accommodating. We enjoyed dancing with them - an amiable and pleasant group of talented young people. I was very impressed.

They were always available—a fantastic group of talented young men. I can’t say enough about Saeed; he is perfect, intelligent, organized, friendly, hard-working, and I could go on and on. He is such a great asset to your company.

Transport

I didn't like the long bus rides so much; sitting is not suitable for our health at this age.

I would have better enjoyed it if we had visited fewer places. It turned out to be hectic as we had to pack and leave almost daily. Two days spent in Fes was too much as there was less to see. We would have preferred a tour of Marrakech to see the monuments even if some were closed because of the earthquake. In Fes and Marrakech, our local guides took us to their recommended stores instead of let us decide where to shop. Just walking through the market felt weary and wasted lot of time. Hotel in Fes was terrible whereas one in Ozarzaite was excellent. Our tour guides on the coach with us were fantastic and provided with us lot of information. Overall, the trip was enjoyable.

I had a blast working with Maria to design this trip, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. We absolutely loved the bed and breakfast we stayed at (Cima Rosa). This is why you engage with local experts!

Barbara from Storywalking provided excellent service throughout our trip -- she knew when our plans had changed before we did and was amazingly quick to solve issues. We leaned heavily upon her help several times -- and were very happy to have the team to rely upon when our flights changed, our cruise changed, etc. Her frequent communication and problem-solving skills inspired confidence.

We learned so much from Romy in our walking tour of the City on our first night -- she really set us up for success over the next few days.

Nicoletta was extremely knowledgeable. We feel lucky to have had a day with her to explore so much of the city and surrounds.

Authentic, historic, tastefully decorated bed-and-breakfast, with truly gracious staff. Staying here gave us a sense of Venice's history and present.

Authenticity & Character

Fully restored (on the inside) 15th century palazzo, with beautifully decorated, comfortable public spaces (indoor and outdoor), and well-appointed rooms. Air conditioning in each room.

Location

Its location on the Grand Canal within a quiet neighborhood was the perfect mix -- easily accessible to all of the major sites and wonderful restaurants, without the craziness of the tourist areas.

Staff

They were so helpful in arranging reservations for dinner, coordinating with our guides, and offering suggestions of locations to visit to add to the trip. They made you feel comfortable from the minute you got there.

Cleanliness & Comfort

The rooms were spotless, as were the public spaces.

This group tour took us through the Rialto area to try foods and experiences we wouldn't have otherwise tried. Our guide was delightful, and it was fun to experience this with a group of interesting (and interested) people.

Murano Island Excursion

We got to see a master of the glass-making art develop a centerpiece while we were there, which was truly amazing. Wish we could have afforded to buy it. ;)

Explore St. Mark's Basilica and The Doge's Palace

We were only able to see the Doge's Palace (and the exterior of St Marks) as our schedule changed. But it is totally worth having a private guide through this remarkable building.

Private Evening Gondola Ride Venice & City Stroll

Seeing Venice from the water at night is incredibly special. Our gondolier was very friendly and an expert at navigating the canals.
