Kimkim Trip Reviews

It's been years since we used a travel agent. We are confident & regular international travellers, and well used to booking our own flights, hotels, restaurants and so on. But when we decided to visit Croatia, we realised we needed a bit of extra help. The country was unfamiliar, our plans slightly complicated, and we wanted to pack a lot into our two week trip. And having been denied a decent holiday for a couple of years, we wanted this one to be special.

So we chose Kim Kim. And boy was that a good decision! We were blown away by the personalised planning, the thought, the attention to detail. Right from the first tentative thoughts about where to go to the last airport cab, Kim Kim made sure everything was seamless.

The whole process feels really personal, right from the start. They work hard to tailor the trip to your individual needs, and take a lot of trouble going back and forth to get it right. And the web interface and the app that help you to keep track of your plans, not only before but during your trip, are very slick and user friendly. Little details like being able to download ferry tickets directly onto your phone make things very smooth.

But the thing that really made a difference was having one person looking after us throughout. Antonia, our local specialist, was AMAZING! To be honest, I was a bit sceptical at first about how much personal contact we would really get once the plans were finalised and the trip paid for. But Antonia was there by our side (virtually at least) every day of the trip, messaging us each morning to remind us of our plans, sorting out things like restaurants, trips and even laundry. As my wife said, it was like having a butler!

This probably wasn't the cheapest way to travel, but it was the best. We packed so much in, and had so much fun, with so little hassle. We will definitely be going back to Croatia, which may well be our new favourite destination, and we will definitely use Kim Kim again.

Slightly out from the old town, but cabs are plentiful (including Uber), so no problem. Part of a modern resort complex with several hotels, restaurants, bars and pools clustered together. That would not normally be our taste, but it is very tastefully done, and it means you have a range of places to eat, drink and so on. Great facilities. Shame we were only there for a short visit! Oh, and the most AMAZING sea views!

Elafiti Islands - Private Half Day Speedboat Tour

Great trip round the islands near Dubrovnik. Various chances to swim, including swimming into two sets of sea caves, which was awesome! Our skipper got us to the Blue Cave before the crowds, and I have to say swimming into it was an amazing experience. A little nervy, but definitely worth it!

Beautiful place. Having got the ferry to the Island, we walked to the Big Lake and got a little ferry to the Monastery Island (an island within an Island!) and back. Then rented bikes and cycled around. Finished with an early dinner by the harbour.

Our first experience of sea kayaking, and a great place to do it. Sea was utterly calm. Kayaking was just the right balance of challenging and do-able (we are a middle-aged couple with a teen, and not very sporty). Loved the little islands, including one recently visited by both Beyonce and Bill Gates, tasting the local snacks and wine, and seeing the deer on the Monastery Island.

Great tour of the lakes and waterfalls. It's a stunning location, very instagrammable. Our guide was great, and tailored the walk to the weather and our needs. It clearly gets very crowded there during normal times, but it wasn't too bad when we went, since Asian tourists have still not returned yet.

Communicating with Meree was quick, easy and professional.
Meree responded to all our needs and she was ready to make all possible changes that we suggested.
Activities great. The kayaking in Flam was really good. The person responsible excellent. (I think her name was Rea). The RIP boat person was also excellent.
The only thing is that the hotel booking in Oslo was not good. I know I have asked Meree for a hotel in Oslo in a reasonable price, but this was very different from all the hotels we stayed.
We went our for a brekfast since the breakfast hall was so poor and smelly.
But overall it was a wondeful week million thanks to Meree and Kim Kim.

This tour of Georgia exceeded my expectations. Lela went above and beyond the usual duties of a tour guide as she cheerfully and tirelessly introduced me to the history and culture of her country going from site-to-site. Her English was great! I have never seen anything like Uplistsikhe; it was fascinating to behold. I had some unexpected yet important life-lessons taught to me as I visited the Green Monastery and Vardzia. Our driver Nika seemed to be very familiar with the roads. His driving was efficient yet careful, and he exhibited great patience! The food was fabulous. As a solo lady traveler, I felt safe at all times. I will always remember my time here and highly recommend this tour!

I feel that Dean did not want to plan a trip that was not self guided. We stated our interests but received very little information about where trails for hiking were. We actually ended up researching our hikes ourselves. When I asked about where to rent bikes, I received no specific In formation on rental facilities or biking paths . The staff were responsive while we were there and encountered a flat tire. Maria was very nice .and followed up to make sure we were ok. I have had other trips with KimKim and received much more personalized service. I would use KimKim again, but would not recommend it in Ireland.

Alisha was really helpful in her recommendations and customizing the trip! She also provided timely responses which was appreciated.

The trip overall was great- Hasan was our driver guide and he was so friendly and gave us a great overview of Malaysia's history and areas we visited. He even showed up one day when we didn't expect to see him in order to make sure we got picked up by our other local tour guide. All the pick ups/drop offs went very smoothly. We really enjoyed our time in Teman Nagara, Cameron Highlands, and Penang.

Two minor hiccups-
1) When we checked in at Taman Negara, the resort had listed us as participating in different activities than what we expected on the itinerary: no biggie though, it was easily switched around without extra cost!
2) Our itinerary didn't list what time our dinner was in Penang, and we completely forgot to ask about it. A guide showed up to our hotel and waited for an hour to meet us (which we feel so badly about) but we were already in the town! We didn't make it to the dinner but I'm sure it would have been delicious!

I'd definitely book another trip with KimKim based on this experience!

I started planning this trip in 2019 and because of COVID, had to reschedule it a few times. It began with about 15 people in the group and we ended up with a group of seven senior women. Our guides on the mainland (Marco and Gorge) were outstanding, very patient and knowledgeable.

We spent two nights at the Napo Cultural Center which was the most memorable for me. The staff was very accommodating, food delicious and watching the macaws at the clay lick was amazing.

Robi was terrific.

He has incredible knowledge of Croatia and really tries to cater to you by creating an itinerary matched to your interests and then executing.

For us, he created a plan for our 10 day trip which matched exactly what we were looking for. It was a lot of fun and we did all the activities that we were interested in such as biking, walks, city tours, wine tasting, yachting on a rented catamaran with a captain, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, great recommended restaurants etc.

Everything was well planned and executed. You really appreciate the depth of his knowledge when he suggests the actual time of day to go and do certain activities and makes specific recommendations based on the time of the year and the expected crowds. We went in August and Robi had specific suggestions of places and times that would avoid the crowds and give us a unique tailored experience. His hotel recommendations were top notch and fitted within our budget too.

Robi is fun to be with and is a walking encyclopedia on Croatia and on activities. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him for your trip. You can't go wrong.

Our trip to Croatia was really amazing!! Robi (Robert, our local tour guide) was absolutely fantastic. He was constantly in touch with us throughout the trip guiding us, helping us, going out of his way to help us enjoy our vacation. He met us personally at Ston and showed us around the town and treated us with dinner. When I left my shoes in a Ston hotel room ( and went to Dubrovnik) he personally arranged to get those shoes delivered to me! Every step of the way Robi was there. All the local guides that Robi arranged for to give us city tours like Bruno in Zagreb, Pero in Split and Antea in Dubrovnik were fantastic too. The car that we drove was arranged by Robi to be Delivered in our hotel at Zagreb. That was very helpful! Also, at the conclusion of our road trip the car was picked up by the rental agency right in Dubrovnik without any hassle. Robi even drove the car from Ston to Dubrovnik to give us a break and helped haul the luggage through the streets of Old town to our hotel. The airport transfer was also arranged perfectly by Robi. All in all it was an extremely enjoyable vacation, made special by Robi's constant help and guidance.

Pradeep was great with planning our trip. He stayed in touch with us the entire time. Faheem was great, he was knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. Noor was also a great tour guide. If you get any of these guys your in for a treat. Also get the WhatsApp( they use it) Pradeep I hope your feeling better and thank you Faheem for being an awesome/amazing tour guide, and Noor thank you for being a great tour guide and thanks to all the classy Uber drivers. I will never forget my experience in Dubai and all the amazing people I met💕💕💕❤️

We had an amazing experience with Marina. She went the extra mile when we had to reschedule the trip due to COVID and again when there was an airport strike that forced us to shift the trip by a day. Our trip to the south of France would not have been nearly as memorable, exciting, and stress-free had it not been for our local specialist, Lucie. During the planning process, Lucie was attentive to our desires, patient with our questions, and worked diligently to create a trip that was perfect for us. When we were in France, she was very communicative and helpful. She saved the day for us twice - once when we were late for a tour and again when we had a snafu with a hotel. There were many things that she planned for us that we would not have discovered ourselves - via ferrata in Verdon Canyon, a bike trip to one of the region's oldest wineries, and more. We are so grateful to her for creating this experience for us and have already highly recommended her services to friends.

This hotel was nothing short of spectacular. We stayed in one of the premier suites overlooking the mountains and it was absolutely worth the extra expense. I could not get enough of the view! The bed was very comfortable and the staff was excellent. We did not get a chance to have dinner in the restaurant, but really enjoyed our breakfasts. The pool was such a treat after a long day hiking through Verdon. The hotel is a short walk from the town, where there were many lovely little restaurants. It was a beautiful stay!

This class is one of my favorite things that we did on our entire trip. Mathilde was so knowledgeable about the city's history and culinary culture. We loved learning about the local markets and tricks for knowing the best places to shop for ingredients. After tasting some delicious produce, cheese, and meat at the markets, we headed to her kitchen where we made the most delicious lunch! Our instruction was helpful and the dishes will be easy to recreate at home - we really appreciated the recipe print outs! This was an excellent experience.

An absolutely incredible experience! One of our favorite things from our trip. This experience was challenging in the most fun way - we climbed, hiked, and swung from ropes in one of the most awe-inspiring places in the world. Our guide, Julien, was very fun and made us feel comfortable and safe. We were also very grateful to the team for waiting for us when we were running late. The flexibility was deeply appreciated. If you're on the fence about doing it - GO FOR IT!!! We absolutely loved it.

This tour was just okay. I believe that our guide was knowledgeable, but it was difficult to hear her commentary in the van with others talking. Also, since we were visiting 3 towns in only 4.5 hours, we really only had 30 minutes to explore each area. The time management seemed to be an issue through the entire experience. Our guide did a nice job, but we would probably skip this tour next time.

This was our favorite experience of the whole trip! Our tour guide, Juan, was very welcoming and warm. We greatly enjoyed the ride up the hills and felt very safe with Juan's direction. The winery was absolutely lovely - we loved learning from the winemaker and experiencing the tasting with him! Finally, the picnic with our group was great fun. I only wish we had bought another bottle of wine. This was an incredible experience in Nice! Highly recommend.

We were looking forward to have the best family vacation ever. So we choose to travel to Iceland. I found Kim Kim agency at the web. Janet help me perfectly. The instructions and the logistics of the trip was amazing. She gave me a Google driving plan around the Island, with fabulous views. Our idea was to stay in Farms so we can have the full experience, and she made that possible, so it was perfect. The only thing I will change will be that the first day was a very long drive, and we were super tired of the flight from the United States. But everything else was amazing !

Our driver, Nouraddine was awesome and strongly recommend.
Also, the tour guides in Chefchouen (Yusef), Fez ( do not remember name), Volobilis ( do not remember name), and Marrakesh were anazing. Very knowledgeable of everything and very accommodating to our needs and special requests. Even the person giving us the camel ride was exemplary. Everyone very friendly.

Also, all of the Riads that we stayed were way beyond our expectations. Really impressive facilities and friendly staff. Staying in Riads rather than hotels really elevated our experience.

Our driver Yanni was among the best parts of the trip. He was professional, always pleasant and very helpful. He went well beyond the call of duty after I got hurt on the mountain bike. The active excursions were very enjoyable also especially the canyoning and waterfalls. Some of the ruin sites were fascinating especially Delphi and Olympia.
The beaches we swam in were delightful and refreshing. I would have liked more diversity in the locations after a while the archeological sites started to blur. I should have requested a trip to the monastery’s in Metiora be part of the itinerary or maybe included an island as a destination or tours of not just archeological sites. Chris was quite accommodating with my request to have my son join us and with putting together such an immersive trip over 18 days. He definitely delivered a trip that had active days as requested and many great memories.

My daughter and I spend 6 wonderful days crossing Morocco and could not have been more pleased with our driver Nouri and our local guides. From private cooking classes and sunrise balloon rides to market tours and our beautiful accommodations, we were given the red carpet treatment everywhere we went. They were even able to handle some last minute itinerary changes as well as minor medical issues in stride.

We will absolutely use KimKin in the future and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a first class concierge while traveling.

The best trip of our life! Emanuela was so amazing and spot on with what we needed. We have two children age 6 and 7 and she was able to plan aroubd their ages! We are so grateful for her expertise as we were able to seamlessly walk into an amazing vacation and see so many things that we could not have planned and organized ourselves. Iceland is by far my favorite country I have ever visited. From the people to the food to the beautiful landscape. All of our guides were amazing starting from Evie in the lava cave to my snorkeling guide at silfra, which I am forgetting his name, to Frieman with the Northern Lights. The hotels were perfect. Enterprise was so helpful as well. Truly amazing country with wonderful people. Thank you Emanuela for an amazing unforgettable trip!! If I could give it 10 stars I would! We will be back Iceland!

South Coast and Icelandic Lava Show

So amazing!!!! The south coast was so beautiful. The black sand beaches, lava cave formations, the waterfalls. Everything was amazing. Really breathtaking that cannot be appreciated as much on camera but really need to see it in person. It was such a great experience. The lava show surpassed my expectations! The presenter or guide was excellent! Very knowledgeable. Amazing to see lava that close. Felt very safe. Also got a piece of lava glass at the end which was really cool.

I LOVED this! It was like extreme snorkeling. The tectonic plates and nature was so beautiful. The staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Our guide I can’t remember his name but was really great! He took the time to ensure our wet suits were on properly and was with us the entire time. Truly a once in a lifetime experience.

The entire staff was so friendly! Evie was excellent. She had so much energy and knowledgeable. Great experience! The beautiful west iceland was wonderful to see. The geothermals we so cool and the medieval homes from 10th century reykholt was amazing. Definitely Viking and brave heart vibes!

Our trip to Iceland was amazing, our best family trip yet! Othman was very helpful with making a few changes to our itinerary in the planning stage and our whole trip turned out perfectly . The website was easy to navigate and use on our day to day travels. There were no issue with any of the hotel reservations or our excursions. We knew it would be an active vacation but it was just the right amount of travel time and activity planned for each day.

If I had to make one suggestion - I would have preferred zodiac boat tour at Fjallsarlon over Jokulsarlon which is extremely crowded with many tourists and a lot of boats in water. Fjallsarlon was just as beautiful, less crowds, and their tours go right up to glacier.

We loved all of your hotel recommendations, except Hotel Selfoss. We did not have a good experience there. It felt like a college dorm and cafeteria, our room was noisy and not clean with very outdated furniture.

From start to finish working with Olman was an absolute pleasure. His extensive knowledge of Costa Rica coupled with his lovely demeanor and exquisite attention to detail all aided in us having an incredible trip. Because of our short stay Olman suggested that we visit two different locales. And then he provided lovely accommodation options and day trip options. After we confirmed our choices he arranged everything and all we had to do was just show up. What a joy!! We fell in love with beautiful Costa Rica and miss it already!!!

Three tour guides were great. Drive through rural Italy was outstanding, Valle d'Italia. Matera very interesting as was Alberabello. Lecce was not as interesting. Old Town in Bari was very interesting as was Polignano aMere

Othman’s planned the perfect trip for us to Iceland. He listened to what we wanted for the trip and his 7 day journey was ON POINT!
He had the road trip perfectly mapped out as to not back track and it kept us busy but we also had plenty of time to “stop and smell the roses”
