Each and every bed & breakfast owner was extremely professional, welcoming, and helpful and we also found KimKim's partner company in NZ to be well-regarded. This trip was the perfect way to view the beautiful country of New Zealand and so much of what it has to offer. At one point, we had in our notes that breakfast was included, but it was not reflected in the B&B's notes. The B&B called the company and it was quickly resolved with the company absorbing the cost of the mistake. We thought this was fair and a very good business practice. Valentin even called us once during the trip to check in and make sure everything was going well and see if he could offer any recommendations or assistance. This was our second trip with KimKim and we found their services once again to be a great value. We enjoyed collaborating on the itinerary where we wanted, but letting Valentin fill in the details with his extensive knowledge and spot-on recommendations. Thank you!

When he was called away with a death in his family and we had a new guide/driver, we appreciated his driving even more. Dama made our trip most enjoyable by his interaction with us, showing us points of interest, accommodating our minor schedule changes and making sure everything we needed was taken care of. All of the hotels were fine and a few were really fine like Cinnamon Kandy, JetWing and Centauriawild. The Thaproban Waves Hotel was gorgeous but my wife scheduled a massage through the hotel and was inappropriately touched by the masseuse and it was absolutely intentional. The hotel management seemed to believe the masseuse's story rather than what my wife had to say. Of particular interest was the glamping (glamorous camping) at Mahoora Premium. They are very ecologically conscious and make every effort to leave a small or no carbon footprint. On our jeep safari at Mahoora were were fortunate to see two leopards and two sloth bears. We were very lucky indeed to see both of these animals. Sigiriya was most memorable as was Udawalawe National Park. All in all a great trip.

Anne made planning the trip an easy and interesting experience. We changed our format, timing and group numbers several times and she worked with us to ensure the trip went off without incident. She had excellent recommendations on where to go (we customized the format).

Tin, our River guide, was amazing. Comprehensive knowledge of Myanmar, the areas we traveled and of Buddhism; excellent English, friendly but non-intrusive, and flexible. He was always ready to work with us to make sure the group's varying needs were met. Far superior to any guide we have experienced so far.

The boat was exactly what we needed. Our cabin was roomy and bed was comfortable. The HVAC wasn't able to keep our cabin cool but others said they were very comfortable. Food was very good. Boat staff was excellent- pleasant, attentive and professional.

Trip up the Chindwin to Buddhist caves and monuments was most memorable. The "beach BBQ" the last night on the river was very special too. I had several comments from friends of "Trip of a Lifetime" and these people travel almost constantly.

I also appreciate the extra effort given by Anne and the Staff. For example, I left my phone on a Singapore Air Flight. Anne arranged for the phone to be picked up at Yangon airport and delivered to me during a stop on the Irrawaddy!

Kim-kim provided a great experience from design to conclusion.

Working with Brahim was very easy. It was clear from the start that he was very knowledgeable and motivated to ensure the trip was just as I wanted, but yet steering me in a direction that in his opinion would make a better trip.
We had a fantastic time in Morocco and were so happy we chose Kim Kim to help plan the trip. The driver provided, Racheed was extremely attentive, and very good with my two kids who accompanied me on the trip. He made sure we were taken care of and kept us safe throughout the entire trip. I had a birthday during the trip, and without my knowing, he arranged for a cake during one of our hotel stays and provided our party with a couple bottles of wine to help celebrate. Completely unexpected but very much appreciated.
We had our first flight to Casablanca cancel, and Brahim and his team were flexible enough to ensure that we didn't lose very much of our trip while we lost a day of our itinerary. They worked hard to ensure we were caught up as quickly as possible with our original itinerary.
There was a small misunderstanding on our desires during one of our days. Once the issue was brought to Racheed and Brahim's attention, they were apologetic and worked to make things right the following day, including buying our group of 8 lunch to make up for the mixup.
The Roads and hotels booked by Brahim and his team were top notch. Every night when we checked in to our accommodations, we couldn't believe our eyes on how nice, clean, and unique each property was. The desert camp near Merzouga was definitely a highlight.
When planning the trip, I was wary that Kim Kim would be price competitive. In fact, they rate offered was lower than I could have done on my own, with more features and the benefit of inside knowledge on the best places to stay throughout our trip.
Bravo to Racheed and Brahim and their team.

We spent 2 days in San Jose going on a wonderful coffee plantation tour and visiting Peace Waterfall Gardens. Our Hotel Martino was located on the outskirts of San Jose, just 15 minutes from the airport, so we didn’t have to deal with all the traffic in San Jose.
Next we were off to a crocodile and bird tour on Rio Tarcoles, then on to Manuel Antonio staying at the Costa Verde Hotel enjoying all of its amenities, good food, and unbelievably beautiful views. We reached our final location after an hour long boat ride down the Rio Sierpe where we arrived at Drake Bay Lodge near Corcovado National Park on the Osa Peninsula. A day in the jungle seeing a tapir, a mangrove hawk, parakeets, coatis, and macaws, among other animals, made for an amazing first day in the Osa. After a delicious picnic lunch we hiked to a waterfall for a refreshing swim in its cool waters.
On our last day a beautiful ocean boat ride took us to offshore Cano Island where we snorkeled with a plethora of fish in the clear waters followed by a delicious picnic on a gorgeous beach. Costa Rica offers everything an active vacationer could want in a tropical environment.

He was willing to work with my sort-of complicated schedule. I’m very impressed at how fast he would get back with me, something that I require when dealing with a travel agent.

My driver, Said, met us at the airport and drove us for six days. I was happy to have him around. Although his English wasn’t completely fluent he still understood my basic needs and was there to make us comfortable.

The riads Brahim chose for me (as I only requested 4-5 stars) were wonderful! My favorite was in Fes, the Riad Karawan. If I have to go back, I’d definitely go there again. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a hotel in Casablanca at the Sofitel. It was in a great location and the rooms were exquisite. There was just a minor misunderstanding, giving us only one bed (I traveled with my son), when Brahim assured we would get two beds. I explained this to the hotel reception and they kept insisting that it wasn’t pointed out by my travel agent, and that they were full so they can send me a cot. I said no, I’m not sleeping in a cot when I paid for two beds. They eventually gave in and got us a room with two beds.

My only complaints in my trip is that I think I paid a ton of money for only six days. Although we stayed in nice riads, I would suggest that with the price I paid, it should include the entrances for every point of interest we went to. It’s not much but it gets really annoying that I have to pay on top of it then give a tip to the guide. Also, in some places that didn’t require a guide such a volubilis, I had to pay 200 dirhams for one. But this is ok it’s not my biggest problem. My biggest problem is when I’m being brought to a coop and have to waste my time in things I wasn’t interested in. In Fes we went to a ceramic place and was duped into buying a tagine that cost me $260, an outrageous amount even here in the states. I honestly think I should have the freedom to choose to go (or not) to places (especially where they are forcing me into buying things I don’t really need and the problem with that is you’re thinking you’re in Morocco so why not get a tagine or whatever they are selling). This things shouldn’t be part of the tour since I’m not in a big bus with 50 other tourists.

One more thing, if you could tell the guides to ask beforehand where I would like to have lunch because there was definitely a restaurant in Fes I wanted to go to but instead was forced to go to a mediocre restaurant with full of tourists and food was seriously lacking in taste. I’m only in Morocco once and I want the best experience and eat the best foods. Anyway these are only suggestions and hopefully you can rethink of applying it in your future tours.

Speaking of guides, I was happy with Said in Fes. His English was so fluent it felt like home to me. Other than the restaurant he chose for us to go 😂, he was an excellent guide! The one guide in Marrakech (an old gentleman) was okay. His English was good enough to understand but he wasn’t very personable but that’s maybe because he was old. Lol!

Overall, I had the best time in Morocco. The people are friendly (even if I was getting duped by peddlers lol). I really enjoyed working with Brahim and will definitely choose Said again for my driver. You will have to give me a discount next time I go back since I’m a returning customer lol!

Salam Boots,

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback with me. I deeply appreciate the time you invest in writing and putting together this priceless feedback. Since the first contact we have, I felt we are going to arrive a wonderful experience for you and Joshua. You have been very reactive and I felt like we were sitting together in the same office :) So, please allow me to thank you for being always there for me which made it easy for me to react back on time as well.

This feeling I have at this moment is similar to what your driver Said would feel as well. Each driver is doing his best so the travelers that are with him are safe, happy and well educated about the best of Morocco. Therefore, please note that all your remarks have been shared with whom it concerns (local guides, the hotel in Casablanca ..etc) to keep our services on top. I am waiting for their feedback. We are always on the learning process and through these suggestions and remarks of yours and of my other travelers I arrived here to take the best care of each trip with a high level of quality. I wished you could let me know immediately any time you felt uncomfortable because that's the reason why I am at your disposal: to make sure you are comfortable!

Please note that my door is always open and that I'll be very happy to have soon visiting my country again. we are friends now, right :)

All the best,
Brahim

My favorite parts of Colombia were definitely hiking the cloud forest in Salento, the city bike tour & hiking Monserrate in Bogota, the walking tour of Medellin, and roaming the streets of Cartagena. Would definitely return. Thank you :)

Mery also booked a guided trek of Torres del Paine National Park, Chile, with Chile Nativo that was incredible. The park itself is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. But the treks were great in large part because of my guide Josefa aka Pepa. She was incredibly nice, helpful, and knowledgeable about the park and Patagonia in general. I am so greatful to have had her as my guide, she did an amazing job. Thank you Mery, Pepa, and kimkim for making my trip to Patagonia a success!

The trip we experienced had some wonderful highlights. However, the hiking on the second and third days, was not properly described. This created a dangerous situation in which my wife was hurt. She had to stop hiking. The only way she got out was on horseback. Luckily, she has experience riding and the farmer who owns Jordan finca was skilled at guiding the horse down 10k of extremely steep, rocky paths and then through 5k more of just wet, slippery paths to safety.
Specifically, the description of the second day: from Petosi to Jordan is very misleading. The description says: "you will arrive at Jordan farm by "mid-afternoon." The hike is 22K! The second half starts with slippery, muddy trails and quickly turns into steep rocky pathway for about 5 miles. It took us 11.5 hours to complete. A group of younger hikers did it in 10 hours. What's so crazy is that the third day continues with 6.2 more miles of steep, slippery rocky paths. So no way could Carol, who twisted her knee on the 22k leg complete the hike back to the road.I have hiked 100s of miles. Really (Wonderland Trail completely in 8 days, the Superior Hiking Trail, Pukasqua, etc.) If this trail had an accurate description I would not have taken my wife (who I clearly described as 73 years old and normal fitness) on this trail. I'm not asking for a refund, but days 3 and 4 were a frightening and extremely unpleasant experience for me and bad for Carol too, because the safety of my wife was at risk.
If you do not change the descriptions of these days, I will spend time and effort to expose the carelessness of your agency. Check with the guide Freddy if you think any of this is innacurate.
GOOD STUFF: Our guide Freddie Cardona (I will check on his last name) was excellent and was invaluable in getting Carol through this dangerous situation. The bike riding day was great fun. The Cocorra valey was beautiful. The packaging lists were accurately and helpful. Both hotels were nice, with Quo in Manizales having an excellent room and exceptionally helpful staff.
The score for Cami is based on the description of the hike, not on her being helpful.
I guess the bottom line is that what could have been a great trip was ruined by an innacurate description of the risks. Fortunately Carol got by with a very sore knee. Take the hike yourself, then write the description. Explain that this hike is appropriate for experienced hikers who can handle 22K of steep, rocky, muddy pathways that can be trecherously slick, at altitudes over 10000 feet.
Finca Jordan is lovely. Finca Petosi is a pit. Dirty, toilets withot seats that are barely clean. The owners of both fincas were friendly but Mary Luz at Jordan is an exceptional host, as was her husband Mario.

Thank you for your feedback Philip. I’m sorry to hear about your experience during the hike in Los Nevados. The safety of our customers is our first priority and we work with the information given by our customers to best match their level of fitness with what they want to do. It was never my intention to recommend a trip that was not appropriate for your fitness level or to mislead you into thinking that what was suggested was an easy hike when it is not. I think the root of the problem is that there was a misunderstanding between what you meant when you requested an intermediate level active itinerary and what I consider is an intermediate hike, and we never clarified what each of us meant.
I have done this hike myself and am familiar with the terrain. Many of the photos in the trip plan are ones I took. The two-day hike from Potosi to El Cedral that you describe is 22 kilometers total, with only 11 kilometers of hiking per day. Each day’s hike takes most trekkers 6 to 7 hours including rest stops. They arrive at each farmhouse in mid-afternoon, at around 3PM. Hiking times vary per group; some groups can stop more often to take pictures, do birdwatching, or can hike at a slower pace and take longer than estimated. But give or take, the time estimates are accurate for most people looking to do an intermediate hike.
We have done this hike with many groups of intermediate hikers of all ages. They were all very happy with the trek and thought it was right for their fitness level. I match our trips with our customers as best as I can, and thought that we understood each other in our conversations. I feel terrible this was not the case. I should have clarified our difficulty standards and discussed this in more detail with you.
Your feedback means a lot to me and will make sure to clarify with future guests more accurately the challenge level they have in mind. We have also added distances to the description of this trip to give future guests an even more accurate idea of the challenge level.
Thank you also for your comments about the farmhouses in Potosi and El Jordan. We have shared them with the farmhouses and talked to Potosi about improvements to the place.
Thank you for choosing to travel with us and I’m glad you had some wonderful highlights in your trip.
