I gave this Five Stars. It could have been 10 Stars. First, I had a great experience with lining up a trip that suited MY needs. The service was patient with me, always adapting to what I wanted to do and never pushing me.

Second, once I arrived in Colombia, David (tour coordinator) kept in constant contact with me. this was most appreciated.

And finally, I had a real Passport problem that necessitated a major change in my itinerary. this could have been a real issue. But David got right on it and things were worked out and I went right on with my tour.

I would highly recommend KimKim to anyone. Very professional.

My daughter and I decided to visit Brazil in January. I heard about Kimkim from my neighbor and decided to use them. Being two women traveling by ourselves it seemed like an ideal choice. After answering some questions on a very user friendly website we were put in touch with Daria our trip designer. I cannot say enough good things about her. She gave great recommendations to visit 3 places in Brazil and use our 7 days/6 nights wisely. Every detail including pick ups and drops off to airports were planned and we felt very safe and all transfers went very smoothly. We visited Rio de Janeiro first where over 2 days we saw all the important sights leisurely in private tours where only my daughter and I were with the tour guide. The tour guides picked us up at the hotel, took us through leisurely to visit the right amount of sites for half a day leaving us half a day to explore on our own. Rio was beautiful, the liveliness of Copacabana, the majestic views of Christ the Redeemer, the Birds Eye views from Sugar loaf, the artistic Selaron steps and quaint district of St Theresa were all awesome. From there we boarded a flight to Iguazu to see the majestic Iguazu Falls. The falls go as far as the eye can see. We took a boat tour recommended by Daria which takes you right under the Falls. It was exhilarating! We had time to see the Falls from the Brazilian and Argentinian sides. After that we flew to Rio and directly had a taxi take us to Paraty, a village settled by Portuguese in 1600s and it has the original cobblestone streets. This was a recommendation by Daria because I wanted to see a colonial town. It is situated beautifully with the bay on one side and the forest on the other. We enjoyed the walking tour of the serene village in the morning and the bustling streets in the evening. We took a boat out to the bay and the captain stopped at various islands for us to snorkel, sunbathe, lunch! It was a big highlight of our entire trip. I’m so glad Daria suggested this village as it’s not on a traditional itinerary. The food and drinks and the people were also wonderful! Daria and kimkim get 5 stars and more if we could do that!

I found it confusing before the trip commenced because you had my name mixed up with Earl our trip organizer. I did not get all of the emails and had trouble paying the balance of my trip.

I did look me the organization of the actual trip. The hotels, transportation , food and guides were first rate. Was surprised, however, when the bicycling was suddenly dropped and switched out for a cave and a palace without explanation.
I am not certain who decided to suggest a week containing a three day weekend national holiday . The first day at the butterfly refuge (Sunday) was totally overrun. Luckily we had added a second day at another refuge which was MUCH less crowded and saved the experience.

The whole experience was wonder and perfectly planned. Not a single issue for the entry week of multiple excursions, shuttles, and hotel. Great recommendations on hotel and excursions. We looked it. Thanks Yuliana

Deb provided one of the most amazing and well planned itineraries we have ever experienced. She took care of everything down to the minor details. She truly made Southern Africa a trip of a lifetime. We will be back again traveling with Deb!

Emi was wonderful. We changed our itinerary so many times. We had to cancel one year and rebook the next. We started out with a completely different itinerary than we ended up with. I was initially set up with a specialist who wasn't listening to my preferences and became increasingly more difficult to communicate with. Once I voiced my concerns though, I was matched with Sabina who was such a pleasure to work with! She was always quick to respond, worked with me on a good balance between budget and activities, and made my trip such an incredible experience. I'd love to work with her in the future when I go back to visit New Zealand and Australia!

Everything was so amazing. The tours and the hotel just perfect. Everything was easy and well taken care of. Anytime I had a question it was responded to.

We have only amazing things to say about our experience with Alisha and the trip she planned for us. We first started planning our honeymoon by ourselves and quickly got overwhelmed by planning a 3 week trip to the south or southeast pacific having no experience in the region. We reached out to KimKim and Alisha had an incredible 3 week itinerary across Java, Bali, and the Komodo Islands to us in a week or less. She was super responsive to our requests for changes or alternatives and came up with so many wonderful options. To put the icing on Alisha and KimKim's cake, they were able to rebook our entire trip for two weeks later after me and my new wife contracted COVID after our wedding.

We ended up with the most magical trip including exploring millennia-old temples, climbing a volcano, snorkeling some of the most incredible reefs we've ever seen, surfing a few outstanding breaks, exploring some amazing waterfalls, racing buggies through the jungle, cooking authentic Indonesian food, and cruising an island archipelago to see Komodo dragons. They hit some of the popular highlights but also found some fantastic lesser-known and less crowded places for us to really soak in the local scenery, food, and culture. At every place they had us staying at the most incredible hotels and it all cost less than expected, even with KimKim's service charges. They even arranged for drivers for us throughout the trip across three different islands and English-speaking guides where it counted.

Especially for a honeymoon, KimKim was worth the money and so much more. If you're questioning whether or not KimKim is worth it, don't. IT IS!

The end result from kimkim was outstanding. Only glip was all the email confusion for payment etc, as we had 3 couples and 3 individuals, which was confusing on every end. But in the end...we received everything as promised and more. Thank you for being flexible with the number of rooms needed, etc. The Hotels in Mexico City were exceptional. Our driver, Guillermo, was extremely exceptional. We paid for his room, so he could stay with of nearby the monarchs, as he was our translator and expert in all things local. Worth every peso. Our guide, Jesus, was wonderful with exceptional English. Visiting the Monarch Sanctuary in the early morning was the perfect decision. We beat the crowds, making it a wonderful, quiet experience. I will recommend Leslie and Ximena.

The best. The best because we arrived at park opening, and nearly the first ones up the mountain, via horse. It was a quiet, almost5 spiritual experience. I am sure it was not later in the day as more holiday tourists arrived. I highly recommend Jesus the guide.

We had a really excellent experience! Some activities that we planned ended up being closed due to the off-season, but the rest of our itinerary was really easy to plan and then the activities were extremely enjoyable. Great recommendations on hotels. The only complaint is that some changes were tricky to process once we got there. We would recommend for others, especially on your first trip to a new city. Yuriy was excellent to work with and very knowledgeable.

Jess organised our 9 days in Bolivia and Atacama which included a 4 day excursion to the Uyuni Salt Flats. Nothing was too much trouble and she kept in touch throughout. Very professional and I will definitely use her services again next time I need help tailoring an individual trip in South America

We had wonderful guides and experiences on the Greek mainland, Santorini, and Crete. It was wonderful to not have to drive or worry about transportation and each of our guides was knowledgeable about their areas and took us to places we would have never found on our own. Highlights for us were Crete and Meteora. Had some marvelous food and wine all over Greece. Babbis(mainland) Lazurus (Santorini), and Yiannis (Crete) were all just fantastic guides and hosts. We loved everything we saw, but do wish we had a little more downtime at the end of our trip. That was our fault, not the guides. Our first hotel in Athens, The Foundry and Hotel Azade were especially standouts with amazing views and comfortable spaces.

Hotel was off the beaten track and quite a walk to the town for meals etc, especially when it was dark as there was no sidewalk and the road was pretty windy. Not a good combo for pedestrians. We were lucky to have a guide willing to come get us. Since it was off-season, there was no transportation, no restaurant service, and no laundry services provided. It would have been good to know these things prior to checking in. The room was adorable and the fireplace was fun to have.

We just came back from a 10 day trip to Morocco. We had an amazing time travelling through Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, Sahara, the High Atlas, and Marrakech.. The entire travel itinerary was superbly organized by our specialist Megan. We had a private driver take us through all those wonderful locations. Mohammed our private driver was simply awesome. Mohammed was incredibly polite, fluent in English, and well informed. He briefed us well on the history of Morocco and of every single place we visited. Always on time and ready to answer any questions we may have. Should we visit Morocco again, Mohammed will be our fist choice. All the hotels were outstanding and located close to key sight seeing locations.

It was a seamless experience from start to finish even though I was very sceptical about going though and online platform that I knew nothing about. I was initially attracted to the itineraries online when I was searching for places to visit in Spain and then I was impressed by how much information was available to me through their website. We have always organised our own travel arrangements, however I will happily re-use Kim Kim again and have already recommended to our friends. Two groups are now using them for their next holidays in other parts of the world. We really enjoyed the private guides and having drivers at each stop along the way to greet us and get us straight to our accommodation and the flow of information and constant communication from Alfonso was brilliant! My 14 day Best of Costa Rica trip was amazing. Bryan, Nancy, and Charlotte did a wonderful job of tailoring a mixture of the excursions I wanted with enough relaxing time so as not to be exhausting. Each destination had it's own unique quality and beauty to it. This was my first time doing anything like this, and I was very overly nervous about how it would all come together. The team answered my repeated questions, rapidly, effectively, in person, and kindly. The excursions, transportation, and lodging all came through on time and with no problems. KimKim and the team have earned my trust, and I am planning my next adventure with them.

The location of our room was across the street from the oceanfront, which although not on the beach, was still convenient. I liked the grass beachfront, as it was breezy/windy and there was sand blowing. With the grass you didn't get sandblown. I did prefer the more sandy beach at the near Playa Langosta, however as I said, the grass here was a plus. And Playa Langosta was not too far to walk if you wanted to enjoy that Our room was in a multi level/unit building near the auto entrance and at the beginning of the passage. We got a lot of noise with people passing by, especially on Saturday when they are drunk and really loud. And at night, when the auto arm was raised, you got beep beep beep up, then the same down. We did not get good sleep here. The room had a nice patio oriented toward the pool, which although not the beach, was still nice. The breakfast buffet was really good. There are plenty of stores and eateries close. I would actually rate this hotel a 3 1/2 due to the noise and close proximity to neighbors.

I loved that the owner had a bird feeder in front which attracted so many kinds of exotic birds, and some squirrels too. It was great viewing and photo ops. The room had gorgeous floor to ceiling windows, but you didn't get much of a view because of the height of the vegetation. It did make it private. You had to go to the restaurant deck to get the view of the volcano. It was very nice relaxing on this deck. The canvas chairs that went with with the small table by the windows were too low for the table, and uncomfortable. There was a sofa which was good, but no good reading lighting to read in it. The water never was very warm. The grounds were very pretty, and it was quiet. It is a bit remote, so we made a stop at a market for some things before stopping. There is a walking trail to an observation deck over a pond, which was dense with foliage where we saw howler monkeys and birds.

This property was gorgeous and we had a stunning view of the volcano. You had your own cabana, so it was very private and seemed like there wasn't other guests. The breakfast buffet had everything and overlooked a small pond with lots of wildlife. There were also sloths in the trees. We did take advantage of both pools and the termales. The bed wasn't as comfy as Hotel Heliconia was probably the only critique.

This hotel had the best bed and room setup. The bed was so comfy and fluffy comforter made it so cozy. It was better than other more expensive property beds. There were upholstered chairs by the windows for reading or whatever which other properties didn't have either. We found a trail in back, and saw lots of birds and animals.

The view is gorgeous and the best part of the hotel. It is on a steep hill, if someone is not able to walk well, but you can request a shuttle ride. All the furnishings were uncomfortable. The bed was hard, there was a cheap sofa facing a wall that only served to put luggage on, no inside chairs, and patio chairs also uncomfortable. Pool lounges uncomfortable too.

It was relaxing going down the river and spotting the wildlife, but adventurous enough not to be boring. You are in a raft and do have to paddle in parts, so you got some exercise too. You do spot animals, but you are traveling down a river, so you don't get as great watch as if you were still. I didn't know about the chocolate presentation after, and thought it would be boring, but it wasn't. And the chocolate was delicious.

I had such a fun time with this. The lesson was actually at Langosta Beach, not Tamarindo, which is a short ways away. This worked out fine as the beach is sandier and better for beginners. It turned out I was the only one in the group, so it was really a private lesson. I was able to get up my first try, and I am 68 years old. What a kick. The instructor guides you out on the board, then pushes you onto a wave, so it is not too difficult. Staying up is the harder part. The water was warm and shallow, and it was aslo a great respite from the heat.

The jungle is so lush and beautiful Spent so much time just looking at everything. The bridges were a lot of fun swaying with the wind, as well as providing a view from higher up. The sloth sanctuary exhibit at the end provided up close viewing of these animals which was fascinating, and the guide was knowledgeable. There was also a butterfly exhibit and a reptile after, both enjoyable and less crowded than the sloths.

Eternal Rainforest Night Walk

Monteverde

This walk was fun in that you are on trails in the night with your flashlight, provided by them, seeking out creatures of the night. It reminded me of being a kid. We mostly located species of birds roosting for the night, and it gave you the opportunity to see them pretty close up as they didn't fly off. It was interactive for the group (small) to participate in locating items of interest too. The tour begins with a beautiful sunset of the area that the children helped save before setting off on your adventure.

I was really impressed with our guide for pointing out not only the obvious sloths, monkeys, but the flora and minuscule creatures that one would overlook. The guide was so adept at not only finding the wildlife, but getting the perfect photo and video for you. We did see many sloths, white faced monkeys, howler monkeys, and an endangered squirrel monkeys which was a rare treat. The tour ends on a beautiful beach where you can swim or relax away from the public beaches.

We had one small glitch. We were told the tour office was right outside the park. That's not exactly correctly. It's on a small side street on the left. Once there our names weren't in the computer and our guide wasn't there. However, shortly he showed up, and he was amazing, the best of them all

Catamaran Adventure from Manuel Antonio

Costa Rica

I got to be like Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous for an afternoon. The catamaran was amazing, the largest of any other tour company out there. Got to see the coastline, and lots of dolphins, and nesting habitats on the small isles. We didn't end up snorkeling, as there was a red sea so visibility was reduced. We also didn't jump from the boat to the water, due to our age. The young people really enjoyed that. The dinner provided was very good and ample. There was also fruit prior. And you got 4 drinks per person, which we didn't even use all of. The beautiful sunset was a perfect ending. What I didn't like was that the music was deafening. You could hardly speak with the person you came with. The music selection was good, but just too loud. I also didn't like that the transportation bus made many stops to pick up other guests, understandable, but then we all had to disembark at the Boat Headquarters in town to receive our bracelets for the tour. This was inconvenient and time consuming when we were all amped to start our experience. The driver had all our names, so why wasn't it possible for him to go in and collect our bracelets and give them to us, and we're on our way. That is my suggestion for your team for the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Costa Rica and are grateful for the planning by KimKim. We had a 3 hour tour of Hanging Bridges and it was fantastic! Loved it! We learned so much and would've missed so much had we walked through by ourselves. Then they recommended the Arenal Whitewater rafting and that was amazing! My husband said it was his favorite thing in Costa Rica. Thank you for your help and especially for Hanging Bridges tour!!
