Climbed Ben Lomond near Queenstown. 1010m elevation gain, Total huke 11km.
Good choice of small friendly places for accommodation .Good breakfasts.

Our trip was wonderful and I would promote nearly all of those experiences to future travels. As someone with a moderate travel history(3 prior trips aborad), I did feel the service of KimKim was overpriced and didn't really create something special. All of the experiences were textbook. My biggest gripe is the company lacked transparency with expenses - I had to communciate multiple times that the proposed costs were too high for our budget and still feel we overpaid. Numerous times throughout the trip, I lamented to my partner "I don't see the value in what we paid for," It was only the convenience, certainly did not have any special, off the chart, or "bumped up" experiences. I wouldn't use it again and would go back to solo-planning, since every single thing I could have booked online or literally day of, likely for a cheaper price overall. Additionally, the amount of back-and-forth with the planning agents equated to the work I'd put it in researching and booking things myself. Nonetheless, the local specialists and platform were easy to use and provided good customer service. The biggest benefit was having a simple document to print with the itinerary for everything.

The experience ranks highly. But I would put the "value" as quite low, though that wasn't the rubric for the questions.

This was sold to us as "spa" like experience by a travel agent, which was inaccurate. I'd describe it more as geothermal landscape with a short immersive experience. We liked the mud bath for the memes and hilarity, but it is essnetially timed and monitored. The baths were fun, but not something to spend 40-minutes doing, which is how it was sold to us.

Waitomo Glow Worm Cave Tour

Loved that it was owned/operated by Maori. We had an excellent tour guide through the cave. The actual "experience" observing the glow worms was actually much shroter than anticipated (5-10 minutes in the boat). The majority of the time is walking through, explaining the formations, etc. The greatest value cost wise was knowing its in good hands of its caretakers.

Wonderful trip to Vietnam! Hein was amazing and very communicative. She helped us plan the perfect trip for our family of 7 (including 5 children ages 9-17) that was well within our budget. Everything was smooth and our tour guide KC was spectacular. He was kind, accommodating and knowledgeable. We loved all of the accommodations and activities. Our kids had lots of fun and we felt immersed in the local culture. I would absolutely recommend KimKim, Hein and Vietnam. We had a lovely trip.

We had an unforgettable experience on our recent Brazilian adventure. Our itinerary was brilliantly put together by Bruno who understood our wish to experience Brazil's rich biodiversity and spend time in gorgeous landscapes alongside a trip to Rio for a wedding celebration. From Iguacu Falls to the Pantanal, to Paraty and Ilha Grande via Rio, all our hotels and lodges were well-located and our activities and transfers perfectly chosen and well-timed. A special shout out to all our amazing guides - Joao Luiz, Eluza and Luiz - and their incredible knowledge, who made this such a memorable trip. The staff at The Jungle Lodge in Pantanal helped us enjoy our stay with them showing an amazing ability to spot even the smallest of animals and providing us plenty of food to keep us going.

Sangita was amazing! The trip was perfectly planned and anytime we needed to reach out she responded promptly. I couldn’t recommend more highly! The trip of a lifetime :)

Noureddine - was the driver extraordinaire! We told him as well but he is a young man his parents should be very proud of. He was a safe driver in addition to thoughtful and funny. We were particularly grateful for his driving skills going to and from the Agafay Desert (those were questionable "roads") and while in Casablanca. We were genuinely sad to part company with him.

Marrakech
Hanan - was a terrific guide both for our walking tour of Marrakech as well as the food tour. She was knowledgeable, kind and showed us some very special places. She also introduced us to our new favorite cookie - the chebakia. She set the bar very high for the rest of the guides in Morocco.

La Maison Arabe Hotel was lovely. They graciously fed us when we arrived later than planned (thanks to flight delays). The room was perfect and breakfast was very filling. We enjoyed eating by the pool and hearing the birds.

Agafay Desert
Inara Desert Camp - never did I think our one night in the desert would involve a significant rain storm and thick clouds which meant no glorious sunset or stars. The one bright spot was our sunset camel ride was rescheduled to a sunrise ride the next morning. Our dinner was DELICIOUS! We were honestly floored by how yummy it was. The Inara staff were fun and charming.

Essaouira
Hassan - was a knowledgeable and considerate guide. He made the history come alive and told wonderful stories.

Heure Bleue Palais - was stunning. Our room was well appointed and we loved that the room looked out on the grand courtyard. It was pretty magical hearing from our room the little trio play into the evening. They sang Beseme Mucho which is one of our favorite songs.

Casablanca
Noureddin - handled driving us around very well and ensured we got to the Hassan II Mosque in time for our tour (which was tricky due to road closures) as well as a walk around the Medina.

Le Casablanca Hotel - a lovely hotel. Dinner and breakfast were very good and reading by the pool was a surprisingly quiet considering the city was just outside the walls.

Rabat
Noureddin - once again handled the driving with care for our day trip to Rabat. We are still talking about our visit to Chellah. It was fascinating and not what we expected.

We definitely felt that our requests were heard and expectations met. Thank you to all - both who we interacted with but also who managed "behind the scenes" - for a truly awe-inspiring trip.

We ended up having to take this tour our second evening and after our walking tour because of flight delays. It was all delicious. Our guide, Hanan, took us to a variety of places which was fun. We particularly liked chebekia and sought them out during the rest of our stay in Morocco as well as in Barcelona.

Hakim our travel agent in Morocco did an amazing job setting up our trip.

We can not say enough about our driver for 11 days named Said. He was our guardian angel. We felt well taken care of from the moment we stepped off the plane in Tangier, until we left Casablanca 11 days later. He anticipated our needs every step of the way. Always making sure where we needed to be. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He was a great tour guide.

Our lodging was fabulous. We chose COMFORT level which was great. We stayed in riads for the most part which were beautiful and colorful and always served a substantial breakfast and more.

Our city guides in Chefhouan/ Abdul and Fes were topnotch historians. Every city guide would take us around to visit the local artisans to learn about ceramics, leather, bakeries, rug making, woodworking and etc and learn about Moroccan customs.

We enjoyed learning about wine making in Morocco when we were in the Meknes area and experienced a tasting at Domaine de la Zounia. Very enjoyable.

We loved seeing the beautiful Sahara for the first time and riding a camel. Great adventure. On our way to Marrakech we saw so much beautiful land and met lovely people. Saw where date production occurs, desert oasis, gorges, the middle and the high Atlas and more. We learned so much.

Osam in Ait Ben Haddou was a very knowledgeable guide.

Hayden in Marrakech was our FoodTour guide and city guide. He was flexible and knowledgeable. Had good connections with locals.

Our guide in Casablanca was very knowledgeable of the Hassan II Mosque describing the intricacies of the mosque and the open hearted and kind king.

We were impressed with the interesting backgrounds and all of the guides multiple language skills.

Could have used a couple of respite days but that is my fault for not planning it in.

There are so many more good things that happened on our trip which would exhaust me to share. Fabulous trip! Morocco is a beautiful country.

Our trip to the Cote d'Azur, just like our trip to Paris last year, was better than anticipated. So many beautiful views, so many art masterpieces, so much history.
In addition, the hotels were clean, comfortable and conveniently located.
Everyone involved in our trip was tremendously cordial and knowledgeable. From the hotels’ staff, to the tour guides, to the drivers. Plus, we had some wonderful food, especially delicious seafood.

We saw so many beautiful sights, too many to list here. The churches are like museums, of course. Along with several look-out points all along the coast, the castles and citadels offered wonderful views, but be ready to climb lots of steps.

We were expecting to see beautiful views, masterpieces and history, as these are all listed in tour brochures and tour books; but a couple of things still managed to surprise us. One was the Cosquer cave attraction in Marseille. For someone like me, who loves history and prehistory, that ride was both fun, educational and a wonderful surprise.
We were also wonderfully surprised when we went to visit Port Grimaud, dubbed "Little Venice" by the locals. It is not Venice, by any means, but those beautiful canals and romantic bridges definitely reminded us of “La Serenissima”.

The staff at KimKim was extraordinary. Quite knowledgeable and able to accommodate even our last minute trip changes.

I would definitely highly recommend a similar trip to anyone.

We were a group of 5 Muslims ladies coming to Morocco for the first time, and hence opted for a travel guide during the entire trip. We were greeted by Samir, who remained our loyal driver for the 6-day journey. While in Marrakesh, we had an amazing stay at the Riad Le Pelerin - Beautiful interiors, comfortable beds, and great laundry service. Kareem, Rasyid, Ismail were very accommodating! Hanan took us on a tour around the city including the hustling and bustling of Jamaa elfna, where we observed many Moroccan artisans who showcased specialties of fabric, metal and wood works. She also took us for lunch at Hadj Mustafa where we witnessed the classic Lamb oven, and tasted the roasted lamb and the Moroccan tanjia. Food was superb! Would love to come back for a taste at Hadj Mustafa again. Hanan demonstrated very good details and history of Marrakesh - a bonus of having her as our female tour guide too. Samir then drove us to Agafay Desert where we stayed for 1 night for a desert experience with a view of the Atlas Mountains - an opportunity to meet and learn about the Amazighs. Great fireshow post-dinner too! We also rode the camels (My camel name was Hazza) then learnt to wear the Arabic turban - thanks to Yahya and Ridhwan who were patient with our shenanigans. We then went to Casablanca, Ribaat then finally to Fes, where we stayed at Riad As Salam who served us amazing Moroccan breakfast with best hospitality (Shoutout to Hisham and Muith for attending to us), and also got to experience body massaging. Our stay there was great, and it definitely was a true Moroccan interior designed setting. Sharif was our tour guide around Fes - where we got to see and learn, again, the rich Moroccan culture, tradition, art and craftworks that are in Fes. Sharif showed us the spiritual/scholarly side of Fes at the Islamic Qawariun University, the diversity of culture including Jewish cultures, and the hard work of people at the Tannery. Grateful to have met a lot of lovely people along the way!

Kadri and Fenne helped plan and booked all of the excursions for a trip to Norway. Both of them were the best to work with. I had never been to Norway and they were able to book experiences and activities so that we could see the country and have experiences that I would have never known how to schedule. Both Kadri and Fenne responded to all of my questions before the trip and gave detailed information to questions that I had. We were able to take boat rides through the Fjords, take trains and busses through the country, experience dog sledding, and feeding reindeer. I would highly recommend working with both of them if you are looking to book a trip to Norway.

Starting with Mohamed, he was very attentive with helping us to make plans for a memorable weekend in Marrakesh. With suggestions and changes, we landed on a great plan. Siad also reached out to us prior to travel to ensure we had all we needed. Contact details and emergency contact details were sent in advance. The helpful tips provided for this area were great as well.

We met with our driver/guide, Karim, and from the first moment we sat in the car, we felt safe, respected, and got excited about the next few days. Karim spoke and understood English very well. French too! We even started out the drive with windows down, sun shining, and a famous singer from our home Country playing on the radio. We knew it was going to be epic!

Karim was very careful to ensure that he was available for any advice, changes to plans, connections, basically he was at our disposal for the weekend. We took a drive to the Atlas Mountains and met with another guide for a short hike around Imlil and lunch at the house of a berber family. Karim made appropriate stops along the way for coffee, water, washrooms, and scenic points for pictures. We also stopped at an Argan oil cooperative where they make organic products such as cosmetics, oils, spices, etc. With the usual cup of tea to start, we had a lovely experience with a young lady to learn of their traditional processing rituals and products. After the long day and after he heard about what we had seen the week prior in Marrakesh, Karim suggested we consider changing our Day 2 plans which was SUPER. We opted for a long ride, but new scenery, and thus, we made our way to the beaches at Essaouria. We really enjoyed our time in Marrakesh and certainly having Karim with us made the trip memorable. We enjoyed the discussions, learning about new things, and much respect. Karim was a perfect match for our travel group. He is kind, patient and his vehicle is impeccable! Until next time!

Alert - we skipped this excursion and replaced it with a drive to the beaches in Essaouria. We had already been to the medina with a guide earlier with a group tour. Essaouria was great to see. Again, another glimpse in all that Morocco has to offer. We were surprised by the significant increase in winds as we got closer to the coast. Coming from an Island in Canada, we know winds very well. When we arrived, we learned why this is called the Windy City as there were nearly a 100 kite surfers playing in the ocean. It was a great day!

Day Trip to Imlil Valley: High Atlas Mountains Adventure & Lunch with a Berber Family

This showed us that we really touched the tips of this area. We loved it in the mountains and to see snow was fantastic. We come from Canada and ski in the mountains so this was a treat and likely just a glimpse of what we can do next time. Our guide for the hike was very nice, in shape and shared information when we asked questions about the area. It's obvious that he loves this place and shared pictures of mountain hikes and skiing. The hike we did was more like a walk for us. There were more tourists than we expected but we were able to by-pass many. Ibrahim, our guide, changed our lunch location to a different spot, which was less congested. Thanks! Our tagline lunch was super tasty! We enjoyed the drive along the way with Karim which also included a stop at an Argan cooperative. Both Karim and Ibrahim spoke very good english and showed utmost respect to us.

At first, we were looking at booking through GTours or Intrepid. But we didn’t like how we couldn’t choose the cities we went to or the dates. Then I found kimkim. I was hesitant at first because I hadn’t heard of them. But our experience was wonderful and I wholeheartedly recommend kimkim.

They connected us with Lucy at Realistic Asia for our trip to Vietnam. Lucy was wonderful and super responsive. She spent a long time with us crafting the perfect trip for us. During our trip, she was super responsive with contacting hotels to store our luggage, contacting tour guides to make adjustments, and helping us with overweight/excess baggage on our domestic flights.

We used Hanoi as our home base. We decide to stay at different hotels each time and I’m glad we did that to experience different hotels and different locations in the old quarter. I guess it would have been easier to stay at one hotel the whole time and just leave our bags there instead of having to pick up our suitcases from other hotels. But it was all so close that it wasn’t a problem.

We landed in Hanoi and stayed there a few days. Then we went to Ninh Binh and Pu Luong nature reserve. From there, we drove back to Hanoi and then flew to Da Lat. Then we flew to Da Nang and stayed in Hoi An, and Hue. We flew from Hue to Hanoi and that was the end of our trip. We arrived on Nov 11 and departed for home on Nov 29. We loved the places we went to.

Our tour guides were wonderful and helpful as were our drivers. We are so glad we worked with Lucy at Realistic Asia!

This is one of the best adventure holidays I've ever been on, we were celebrating 50th, 40th and 25th milestones. We left all the itinerary planning to kim kim, Sara was very informative kept us updated she understood our budget and all the things we'd like to do. Once we handed in Brazil everything went exactly as the itinerary said completely seamless we had Rio de janeiro, Foz Do Iguazu and the Amazon Rainforest on the plan. So had 7 internal flights. All airport transfers were on time and the vehicles provided was enough for the luggage we had. We had 3 tour guides Alberto in Rio, Marcelo in Foz and Fortunato in the Amazon Rainforest. I would give all three 5 star rating as they were very friendly and were very informative.

It was every bit the paradise Vicky described it to be - from the amazing views to the superlative Beach Club accommodations and the laid-back atmosphere at the vacation island. We finished with 1.5 days in Brisbane where Vicky had great recommendations and a fun river cruise planned for us.
