Our trip to Morocco was a long time in the making due to Covid related delays. So when we finally landed in Casablanca on the 2 September we were incredibly excited to be starting our trip.
From beginning to end we have had the most amazing experience in this diverse, gorgeous country. From the ancient imperial cities of Fez, Meknes and Marrakech to the relaxed towns of Skoura, Ait Benhaddou and Chefchaouen we encountered incredible artisans, making a range of beautiful things, rugs, pottery, clothes, jewellery. The awe-inspiring landscapes and architecture and most importantly wonderful, warm Moroccan hosts who truly invited us into each Riad as family.
We did encounter some weather related challenges with floods stopping our plans to get to the Sahara but our Kimkim rep Said was amazing at rerouting our trip, to ensure we still got a desert experience and ensured all our accomodation dates were reworked - no small thing to do in the high season. Kimkim also ensured our accomodation was of a very high standard, each Riad and hotel had something special to offer, very comfortable and had lovely interiors.
We were also very fortunate with our driver Faysel, who brought so much fun and energy to our experience and as two women traveling together always ensured we were well looked after and safe. Full of helpful local information, and an excellent skillful driver, Faysel became a friend on our journey as we all travelled together.
Kimkim also supplied us with great local guides - Mohamed in Fes, who knew the Medina inside out and gave us so much insight into local culture. In beautiful Essaouira our guide built on our knowledge of this fascinating city, showcasing the importance of the Islamic, Jewish and Christian influences throughout Morocco's history and its probably the Moroccan city that most signalled a connection with Africa. Finally our last guide Said in Marrakech, who took us on both city and food tours - was so much fun to hang out with. Knowledgeable, thoughtful and with a wonderful dry sense of humour he made both tours so memorable - I even ate snails and sheep's head under his encouragement 😀

Trip was amazing with the natural beauty of the national parks and salt flats and the amazing city of La Paz. Everything well organised and high quality tour guides like Dani and Juan Carlos who shared their excellent knowledge and information on the culture of Bolivia. This was the highlight of our 4 week trip, especially as more authentic and traditional people and way of life. We also did the death road ride which team of gravity was excellent with strong emphasis on safety and enjoying. 2 opportunities for improvement re 1 prewar day 1 of altitude as most of us on tour suffered altitude sickness and too late in taking medication and arriving earlier on day 1 could have allowed us to do the valley of the moon tour day 1 and hence allowed day 2 to visit other locations in Chile in San Pedro de Atacama. Thanks Camaros for a wonderful trip and beautiful memories of your country.

Our trip to Costa Rica this September, 2024 during Green Season was amazing. We traveled for a work conference in Papagayo, and decided to use a travel service to organize a trip extension to several other parts of the country. We found Kimkim, and were extremely impressed from start to finish. Kimkim contracted with a local tour company, Serendipity Adventures, which was excellent. We went to Arenal and Tortuguero. Both hotels selected by Serendipity — Moana in Arenal and Mawamba in Tortuguero — were excellent, as was our driver Alex, and our guide in Arenal Mauricio. The communication with Serendipity while in country was outstanding. I would highly recommend our hotels and booking through Kimkim and Serendipity!

The hotel selections were extremely well planned out, and positioned giving you access to a lot of the areas that you were visiting the itineraries as far as tours, exhibitions, museums was very well laid out. The entire trip was very interesting and met all my expectations and more.

Our trip to Greece was amazing thanks to Angela! She carefully organized and booked our hotels and activities based on our interests. She was always available before and during our trip to answer any questions. I was amazed how quickly she communicated! We had an issue with our driver coming to pick us up a day early but she handled it within a few minutes of messaging her about the problem. I would definitely use her again for planning a trip to Greece!

This was our favorite activity by far! The tour guide (Manos) was amazing! We loved the diversity of this tour - we got to see an olive oil press, a local farm and tavern, and go to a beautiful beach. Being on bike allowed us to go places a big van was unable to reach. The e bikes were very easy to use. We cannot recommend this activity enough!

The actual catamaran cruise itself was amazing! The staff was very friendly and attentive to us. The food was great and we had plenty of beautiful stops to swim! The transport to and from was disappointing. The transfer was very late picking us up and we had to call to make sure they were still coming. Then when the cruise was over we had to wait at least 45 minutes for the van to pick us up. It seemed like a lot of waiting around and very disorganized.

Such a cool and unique experience glamping. The "beds" (aka sleeping bags) are all lined up 5-6 on a raised wooden platform so it was a little 'weird' sleeping that close to strangers. It was very comfortable and warm though and you cannot beat the views!

We enjoyed the trip and thought it was a good itinerary to experience Sicily - the food, the history, the culture and the hospitality. Unfortunately the poor communication left a lot to be desired ...

Communication
• Total lack of responses within a reasonable period - from start to end
• Regardless of time differences, I think a simple acknowledgement or response within 24-48 hours is reasonable. In the case of Thanos, 2 weeks or more, with multiple follow ups, is the norm. If you find this hard to believe, just check the conversation.
• While we hesitated at the beginning, we figured it might have been an anomaly because of the agent's 5 star rating. Now we seriously questioned the validity of the rating system all together.

Administration
• Request for early payment - happened after multiple requests
• Request for final payment - happened after multiple requests and when it finally went online, the amounts were different for each of the 4 parties (when they should be the same)
• Final itinerary was not available until a few days before the start of the trip. What started as a couple of simple questions about the itinerary 4 weeks before the start of the trip, the total lack of response caused the entire group to doubt if the trip was going to take place a week before the trip. Such outcome is totally unacceptable!

Accommodation
• Hotels at Palermo and Catania are good - convenient location, clean and good services.
• The hotel in Agrigento is in the middle of nowhere. We could not understand why this hotel was picked. Fortunately the front desk was able to arrange a special meal for us at a local restaurant (instead of just drinks and sandwiches at a beach bar).

Transportation
• Drivers were good and courteous. But we could not understand why we got a minivan that would only fit 8 ... when the original party had 10 people. Sure, 2 people cancelled out at the last minute, but we do not consider the jump seat beside the driver approriate for 70+ seniors! In addition, occasionally the guide had to squeeze in with us, or simply sat in the cargo bay.

Guides
• All the guides are experienced and knowledgeable on the subject. Of the many different guides we had, we thought Lorenzo at the Valley of the Temples, Natalya at the Villa Romana del Casale, and finally Laura at Catania and Taormina provided exemplary services.
• We also enjoyed the cooking class at Cucina Garibaldi a lot. The activity was fun, the staff were friendly and helpful, and I would not hesitate to recommend the activity to fellow travelers.
• Mrs Maria, our local contact, has been very responsive and helpful throughout the trip.
• This might have been a misunderstanding on my part - that we would get the same driver / guide for each city - especially after all the troubles we went through to finalize the itinerary. Despite what was stated in the itinerary and two queries during our stay in Catania, we never met our assigned person Daniela. While we had the same driver for our stay in Catania, he could not tell us if he would be our driver the following day. While everything worked out in the end, I thought, at a minimum, the expectation could be managed better and not lead one into thinking this is a fly by night operation.

We have used and recommended Kim Kim to others many times. The attention to detail; the ability of the agents, such as Mar, to plan a trip, met our highest expectations. We gave Mar specifics such as, booking boutique hotels and setting us up with guides in the cities and booking specific activities such as a Zodiac boat ride on the Fjord waterways . Her choice of hotels was perfect. I think the most important advantage of Kim Kim is that you are given a local Norway agent who responded quickly to any questions we had while on this trip.

Our first trip to Croatia was an absolute success!! Thanks to our specialist Roberto, every detail was planned to our needs. Because it was our first Croatian experience we had no idea what to expect. Roberto made the unexpected amazing and easy flowing. From self drive, hiking, island hopping, history tour and driver guide, all well planned.
Easy transports, accessible and central accommodation according to our budget. The hosts of the accommodations Robi booked us with where all friendly, helpfull and very accomodating. Reliable drivers to and from the airport. Guided tours, excellent and knowledgeable.

Our trip to Iceland was the third trip we have used Kim Kim to plan. We have never been disappointed. Adam was so helpful in putting together a trip that reflected us. He made sure we were prepared for the weather, the driving, and anything else that might come up. We appreciated how he put together a trip that was geared for us and not just for anyone going to Iceland. He offered several options for us, and we did several of them and enjoyed every one of them. The hotel accomodations were perfect and the breakfasts were wonderful. I'm glad he included one rather unconventional type of lodging that let us experience a differnt style of overnight that included a very interesting film about a local soccer player. He did run it by us before making the reservation so we would know it was a tad different. Great way to end our evening. Our last night accomodations in Reykevik were in a perfect location - close enough to walk to some fun local spots, and a short drive to the airport. Adam also made sure we had the perfect rental car for driving on the roads in the northwestern area and in the mountains.

We absolutely enjoyed our trip to northern Norway! Mathia was great to work with and we even got to meet for coffee during our trip! He was very professional and proactive in arranging everything and also quick to respond to weather conditions affecting certain activities, making changes, etc. Best of all- we got to see the northern lights! Thanks Mathia!

My wife came across KimKim and Robi to help us put together our planned trip to Croatia.
Croatia is great and the people are awesome and is a story and Life experience for another chapter.
Out trip was organized through Robi. From the word go he established what we had in mind and what the budget was. (Being from South Africa our Exchange rate is not favorable towards the Euro.)
Everything was planned and executed perfectly by Robi and team to make our visit as comfortable as possible. He checked in with us every day, gave suggestions of things to do and places to go, with prices, pin drops and whatever we needed to find our way in an unknown country and cities.
We had the privilege to have Robi as our guide for one day through the Peninsula and areas on our way from Corčula to Dubrovnik and his knowledge about Croatia is amazing, and in combination with his positive energy makes the time spent with him one off the highlights of the trip.
In Dubrovnik he organized a city tour guide, Antea, who gave us a very interesting tour through the city of Dubrovnik.
The method of payment through the KikKim system was executed smoothly and we had no problems whatsoever at each of our destinations.

Our trip to Scotland was a great experience. With the assistance of Stephen, we were able to see all parts of the Scottish highlands , hiking many beautiful trails hiking over 113 miles, having wonderful meals, and first class accommodations each night. In particular I want to mention the Geographer restaurant in Ft William which was the best meal of the week, and Mahmoud in Liverpool at The Hard Day's Night Hotel for his exceptional service. The airport shuttles were excellent, the car rental was excellent, really everything went as planned and we had a wonderful trip. I will certainly be looking to use KimKim again if/when I plan my next trip to Scotland or other locations they service. Thanks Stephen for all you assistance in making this a trip to remember for a lifetime.

Margaux did a great job of listening to what we wanted to do/see and fitting that into our trip. All our accommodations and reservations were what we expected. She provided a detailed itinerary and met with us twice to answer questions. If I travel to Germany or the surrounding area again, I’d definitely work with Margaux to plan my trip.

The tour guides, hotel managers, and drivers were all so accommodating and welcoming. The trip went so smoothly, and everything we did was awesome. Thank you so much!

The sites we went to and the lake were great! I just wish I had been more prepared for the day and knew what to have in my carry on bag, especially for the lake. And I wish the driver had been more talkative and had explained where he was taking us.

The driver didn't seem interested in chatting with us and was difficult to coordinate with. He dropped us off somewhere and said call me when you're ready to be picked up. But didn't give us a way to contact him, and didn't explain to us where he was dropping us off or what we should bring with us from our luggage.

Daniela and Robi, our Croatia team, were amazing: knowledgable , flexible, put together a great package for us, geared to our preferences, in touch often with great suggestions and we felt supported and well cared for. All transfers, accommodations were organized and smooth. Helped when we needed modifications ( weather related).
