Our guide Joel in Lisbon was amazing . Professional and very knowledgeable . Hotels were great and everyone was friendly.

This was our first time working with a travel agency and we enjoyed the experience. We had a great time and we feel we saw a lot more with Adam’s itineraries than we would have if we planned the trip ourselves. The car and the hotels and apartments he picked for us were perfect and we felt really comfortable the whole trip, which says a lot since we had definite budget constraints. Highlights were Skaftafell Nature Preserve, Svinafellsjokull, Vik, the Westman Islands, and Olafsvik. We are grateful for everything and we will reach out again when we are ready to plan our next trip! Thanks!

Our Portugal trip was better than expected and we are looking forward to another visit to explore more. Margarida (spelling ?) was our walking tour guide in Lisbon and she was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. She helped provide a balanced welcome into Portugal's history, culture, and food that made us appreciate our surroundings and the country.

Duarte was a friendly and knowledgeable driver/guide for Sintra and to/from Lagos. His unique background being a race car driver living in the Unite States and personal history and experiences made our time in the car feel special. He was safe, friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and a positive experience.

Rodrigo drove us for a day in Lagos and Algarve and introduced us to some of the most beautiful beaches we've been to! He was friendly and easy to communicate with.

Marcos was our friendly driver to and from the Afronation concert and he made sure we got to and from safely.

It was a bit dark in the hallways of the hotel leading to our room and the hotel is due for some updates overall, particularly in the rooms.

Our driver Duarte was friendly and knowledgeable throughout the tour. He also recommended a great seafood restaurant and pastries which we enjoyed. Glad we passed through Cascais on the way back to Lisbon as it was beautiful and sunny.

Yuliana provided the perfect itinerary for our family - she listened to our concerns about having small kids and picked the best activities that they would enjoy.

We got a good mix of rainforest and adventure in La Fortuna and then beach and relaxing in Tamarindo. The hotels were beautiful and the excursions were on time, safe, and fun.

Everything on the trip went so smoothly and we never had to stress while in Costa Rica! Pura Vida!

It was a great tour. Everything went smoothly. We loved the hotel Hare Nua on Rapa Nui. The staff was really wonderful, rooms were comfortable and it was nice to be in the center of town. We (I'm 70; my daughter is 19) both really enjoyed the trip and we are still enjoying our time in Chile -- in Santiago now, then to the mountains and finally a beach town north of Valparaiso. Our family trip to Spain was wonderful. We took our family of 12, including 4 grandchildren, to Spain to celebrate my husband’s 75th birthday. We visited 5 cities in 2 weeks. The trip required lots of pre-planning. Bea helped us with transportation, guides, museum tickets, and hotel reservations.
Overall we were very pleased with our first KimKim trip, though initially somewhat frustrated with our attempts to compare hotels, and later on with delays in communication as we finalized tours and drivers .
The trip went off beautifully. Itinerary details were clear, everything ran on time with no glitches. It all ended up well and we are very happy we used KimKim!

Bea lined up professional guides and drivers for our unique itinerary, tailoring museum tours to the children’s level and giving us the ability to get off the beaten path to see the tiny towns of my husband’s ancestors.

Had a very accomplished driver who got us where we needed to go. The main attraction in Burgos is the beautiful Gothic cathedral which is preeminent in Spain and Europe. The bus had to drop us off a few blocks away from the cathedral. Definitely worth the visit but not necessary to spend more than a few hours in Burgos.

Day Trip to San Sebastián & Gipuzkoa Coast

Adur was an excellent and memorable tour guide. He was an interesting conversationalist, well-versed in the area, and fun to spend the day with. He helped us make the most of a rainy day in San Sebastián, making the area come alive with his anecdotes and enthusiasm. We ate tasty pintxos at 2 fun restaurants as we walked through San Sebastián and then enjoyed a leisurely drive along the beautiful coast back to Bilbao. On the way back we stopped for a visit to the charming town of Getaria.

The communication with KimKim was fantastic throughout our planning process. Once the trip started, a more local agent was assigned to us and checked in daily through WhatsApp to provide details for the next day. We had an incident where money and credit cards were stolen at one of the hotels and Rutopia/KimKim acted swiftly and professionally, dealing with the hotel management to ensure we were compensated. We were hesitant at first to pay for a travel agent vs. planning ourselves, but in the end, we were so glad we opted for using the agency because it was so nice having someone confirming all the logistics/details for our trip every day and having an advocate for the theft incident. Also, the excursions planned with the local Mayan community were fantastic. We were thrilled to be supporting local businesses in their eco-tourism ventures - it was exactly what we were looking for. They provided access we wouldn't otherwise have had and it was all very seamless. My only complaint is that it was very hard to get official/legal documentation of (e.g. contract language) before we made our final payment. We were unclear who we were actually paying (KimKim or Rutopia) - who was the legal entity and what recourse did we have if they didn't follow-through with services? We wanted to see that language in a document before making our final payment, which wasn't offered initially. It's difficult to pay a substantial amount of money (for us, a family of 6) without having a legal document to review first. Online reviews were very positive though and now that our trip is over, I would 100% recommend this company and would use them again without hesitation for future trips.

The Ancient Canal Experience in Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve (morning)

Experience included a couple hour boat-ride through several massive lagoons. Scenery was gorgeous, great for bird-watchers. Our favorite was the 30 minute float through the "lazy river" (canal). Our favorite activity of the whole trip! It was beautiful, peaceful, crystal clear water. The guides were informative about the reserve. I was hoping to see a little more wildlife but mid-day, the most you will likely see are birds. My family of 6 from the US (with 4 teens/young adults) absolutely loved it.

Anita was fantastic throughout the whole process. As we went through the trip, it became even more clear just how much thought and effort went into our itinerary.

Geza, Madrid-Very knowledgeable and caring. He did a great job of showing us the sights and explaining the importance behind each one. He was a little rushed, but seemed to be only because it was so hot. He gave us great recommendations.

Chavi, Toledo-One of my favorites. Chavi was so thoughtful the entire tour. He gave us what felt like a unique experience and made sure we got to know all we could about Toledo.

Heather, Tapas Málaga-Phenomenal! We got so much more than a tapas tour with Heather. She gave us so much information about the city and area, along with a history of the food we were trying.

Alfonso, Caminito del Rey-He was clearly experienced and knew what he was doing. He seemed over it with our group, but he still did a great job.

Eduardo, Top Buggy-Another one of our favs. He clearly knew what he was doing both with the side by sides and with providing a great experience. He was very knowledgeable and charismatic.

Gabriela, Alhambra-She was very kind and knowledgeable. She had a way of making sure we understood the history of the Alhambra through her words and added pictures for explanation. We could tell she really cared about the history of this place.

Katia, Tapas Granada-You could tell she used to own a restaurant. She was an expert in the food and wines we were tasting.

Lola, Sevilla-Lola was great! She took great care in making sure we got the most out of our experience.

Adriane, Cádiz-She was so energetic and excited to share about the history of Cádiz. She also sent us some great recommendations for the rest of the day.

All of our guides were phenomenal! We really lucked out with all that we got to do!

We had a short amount of time to plan our trip, and Alicia came through with great suggestions and wonderful accommodations. We particularly enjoyed the Puffins and Volcanos tour with Ebbi on the Westman Islands! Alicia was responsive and knowledgeable, and it's hard to pick a favorite part of our trip as everything was wonderful in very different ways! The only things that kept the experience from being a 5/5 review were finding out when we got to our hotel in the Westman Islands that we were on the 3rd floor of a hotel with no elevator (and a lot of heavy luggage), and not having clearer check in instructions attached to our reservation at the Glacier View Guesthouse. I also had to spend several hours plotting out drive times between each attraction and average time spent at each, in order to ensure we'd arrive at our timed destinations on time and not miss out on anything. Having this information available ahead of time would have saved me several hours of work, but I'm glad I took the time to do it as it made our trip much less stressful!

Walking tour with easy to navigate paths.

I was a little nervous using an online service that I had no previous knowledge of to book my "trip of a life time". I read reviews stating "they overcharge" for the cost of the rooms and tours --- maybe a little, but why shouldn't they? I would only expect that so that they can operate a business AND you are definitely paying for convenience. It is so well worth it! I did not have to think about much while on the trip other than enjoying our time. I would use their service again without hesitation.

We just returned from an amazing trip to France. We had 2 nights in Paris, 2 nights in Reims, and 2 nights Beaune with a final night in Paris before departing. Audrey was amazing to work with. She planned a trip with all of the things we requested. Our hotels were beautiful. The hotel the first 2 nights in Paris was a little small, but it was quaint, with very nice staff and in a great area. All of the hotels were in great locations and located within walking distance of many cafes, shopping and sites. The transfers from hotel to train stations/airport were absolutely seamless. We did not have to think about how were were getting anywhere -- it really made it so super easy to get around. We had 2 wonderful wine tours. The first in Reims/Champagne. Our guide Julie was superb. She was sweet, fun, and very knowledgeable. She made us feel like she knew us for years -- it was a very memorable day. Remy was our tour guide in Beaune -- his level of knowledge of wine and history was remarkable. He took us to many vineyards, thoroughly explained the region and the wine making process. Both tours provided tastings of fantastic wines. Highly Highly recommend.

We took a large family trip to Switzerland (9 adults, 9 children with ages from 6-76) starting in Zurich and ending in Milan. Our local guide, Ricardo, was amazing with his knowledge of the areas and helping us on our trip. But, the most important thing to our family, was how he put in effort to get to know our family members and was able to adapt the trip to our preferences during the trip. Our bus driver was also amazing: on time, professional, a skilled driver and caring for our family. The local Kim Kim specialist was able to work with me to plan the trip with activities that would be good for our family and then Ricardo was able to customize the activities further during our trip based on his knowledge and our interests. The hotels were located in wonderful areas to be able to explore the cities during our leisure time. We felt safe and well taken care of during our time in Switzerland.

Beautiful hotel lobby and staff tried to be helpful. The check in process for our large family group was long and difficult compared to other hotels. While the rooms were nice, they were hot and did not cool down at night. I talked with staff about the air not going below 24.5 C, and was informed that is the best they could do.

Then we were able to go up to one of the Castles and explore it. There was a museum with a movie that was very interesting, even to the youngest in our group (6 years old). We enjoyed our tour of Interlaken with our guide Nina. We went to the Woodpecker Woodshop and enjoyed the demonstration and shop there. It was lovely and cute. Then we went to a local dairy farm to see the happy cows and sampled the local cheese. It was a wonderful experience and the kids enjoyed it. We then went to the Funky Chocolate Club. We had a chocolate tasting and really enjoyed our time there. The chocolate and education received were top notch. I would also recommend this experience.

We used our private bus and driver to access areas that were a longer walk due to missing the public transport option. Our group moved slowly due to having one person using a rollator and having a lot of people.

Kayak tour on Lake Brienz

This was one of our favorite activities. The lake is beautiful and a lot of fun to explore in kayaks. The kayak guides, Ben, Ryan and Mika, were amazing with our family. They led us in games we played on the lake and were able to accommodate our different ability levels with ages from 6-76. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this activity to everyone!

Nice large room and bathroom. Good breakfast. The front desk woman was not friendly or helpful. No elevator and no one to assist getting luggage up a flight and a half of stairs. The breakfast was good and the waiter was very friendly. Note: there isn't any dinner options at the hotel. You need to go to the sister hotel, where they provide transportation (about a 10 min drive). The meal and service is excellent but it is a prefix menu and it's pricey (about 100 pounds per person with drinks).

The Bruntsfield

Nice hotel, good location. There were elevators but you still had to take stairs which defeated the purpose of having an elevator for luggage. Also, it wasn't obvious that there was a ramp to enter the hotel so we also took a flight of stairs with the luggage...and there wasn't anyone to help. Breakfast was good, with a made to order hot entree.

We aren't whisky drinkers but "when in Scotland" we really wanted to have a tour and not just a tasting. Our guide was excellent, the tour was really interesting, the facilities very nice and the tasting (which was the minor part of the excursion) was very nicely done. This is a boutique distillery and it was a curated experience, which we loved.

This is such a unique experience and it's really worth it. The man who owns the dogs was super nice and patient. He also had some "hairy coos" which was a bonus. We all really had fun.

It's a self guided excursion but well worth the visit. I've been to a lot of castles but nothing like Edinburgh. It's basically a city vs a single building.

Our trip was everything we hoped for and more thanks to our local specialist Anna-Maria. She was in touch every day and made sure everything was running smoothly. The transportation she arranged was seamless and made the trip much more relaxing for us! Our first driver/guide Primos was really knowledgeable and a great conversationalist. The lodging was wonderful, each with breakfast included and locations that were perfect. The hiking was spectacular in Slovenia (with Marc) and in Opatija (with Smilja) which had a surprise visit to a local bee keeper that was a truly lovely experience. Krista put together a fabulous itinerary for our family! We enjoyed the range of activities, locations we visited. We enjoyed the variety of transportation modes from train to ferry, to bus. The entire process was easy, our itinerary was clear, and we had backup suggestions at each location.
The Norway in a Nutshell tour was especially wonderful, because it included a leisurely pace from Voss to Gudvangen to Flam, and glorious views while on the fjord cruise.
I was thrilled that we could spend the night in Voss and Flam, so that we could experience all the activities in each town, while also enjoying a stroll around the water.

There was plenty of space to relax and enjoy the view. The gym on site was a plus. We also enjoyed our small balcony in our room. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable.

It is super hot in the pool area though, so it is better for the winter time. Dinner at the restaurant was authentic Norwegian food, but small portions and limited menu.

We rented the e-bikes and we were glad we did. We could go further than regular mountain bikes would have allowed. As a result, we saw breathtaking waterfalls, the historic Otteren farm, and enjoyed a relaxing lunch in town. The process was easy. The bike quality was superb.

The equipment provided was fantastic. Made the trip very comfortable. We enjoyed our guide, Erwin’s stories, and the places he took us. It was very relaxing. However, we saw no wildlife as we had hoped. Contrary to what is advertised, it is not a high adrenaline tour. No waves, we didn’t get wet (it was not windy that day). Just a nice cruise on the water.

Planning a trip to Barcelona for 10 family members (ages 15-86) seemed overwhelming until we found the KimKim site and reached out to Hector. From the first communication we were confident that we had found someone who would work very hard to make sure that we were going to be very satisfied. He gave us an itinerary that seemed very good and within our budget and was quick to tell us that it could be adapted to suit us better. Some changes were made and each question we had or requested modifications were handled quickly and smoothly. When I say the trip exceeded our expectations I am not exaggerating. The hotels were very comfortable and in an excellent location. The breakfast included was terrific . Our guides were all so personable and knowledgeable. We were impressed with their ability to share so much interesting information, answer questions and just be so welcoming. They never rushed us or seemed like they had a tight schedule. We enjoyed our time with each of them.
The snorkeling/kayaking trip was especially memorable for the girls and their parents. Two great guides provided a thrilling experience for them. I would definitely recommend KimKim as a place to start any family trip. I didn’t realize they plan trips to many locations. They give you a very specific experience tailored to your family and include so many different things that generally appealed to all ages. Thank you Hector and your team.

This small beautiful hotel has so much character and charm. It is located in the old town of Begur and we enjoyed the atmosphere and wandering through the small pedestrian streets. Lots of good food and affordable shopping. The walk to the fortress provided magnificent views of the coastal beaches. The children and grandchildren loved their time at the beaches and the beautiful Mediterranean water.

Across Portugal curated an absolutely perfect first trip to Portugal for our family of five, including three young kids, ages ten, eight, and four.

Joao and the team could not have done a better job finding us the perfect resorts in each of our three stays (Lisbon, the Algarve, Cascais) — exactly what we needed in terms of space and accommodations to make traveling with kids stress free and incredibly enjoyable.

The experiences booked for us in each place were perfect — magical, high quality experiences that were clearly the best of the best in each spot, allowing us to feel like we saw and experienced so much in the relatively short time we had. My expectations were exceeded in every way: our accommodations, our driver, our activities, and the level of professionalism and ease of communication throughout.

We are not easy people to please, and we were blown away. We hope to return to Portugal again soon to see even more of the country and will certainly use Across Portugal again.

For the first time, we went through a travel agency for our vacation, and the experience was extremely good. Highly recommended for a trip to Peru for sure. Kimkim and the local agent, Liz, were very good at understanding our style of vacation, and after very few iterations, the agent came up with a plan for 2 weeks that was above and beyond our expectations. We knew we wanted to go to the jungle, Machu Picchu, and Lake Titicaca, but the trip was filled with a lot of little things we would not have thought of if we were organizing it ourselves. For the main sightseeing places, we had either a private guide (Machu Picchu) or we were at most 2-3 families (ATV tour through the Sacred Valley or the Rainbow Mountain). Having the guide was really good since there is no signage explaining the various sites. The guides also took the time to take a picture of the whole family, and it is nearly the first time in our lives that we have beautiful photos with the four of us.
Aside from the must-see places like Machu Picchu, the travel agency proposed a few things we did not know. First was the excursion to the Rainbow Mountain. They booked for the new excursion (less touristy) where three mountains can be spotted, and it was fantastic. The walk to the "top" was wonderful, surrounded by alpacas and beautiful views. The second big surprise was the train from Cusco to Puno. A 10-hour ride through the Andes on a beautiful old-fashioned train, with an amazing 3-course meal, live music, and panoramic car. Last but not least, they booked us a meal at a farm in Ollantaytambo, and it was such an authentic experience with some of the best food I had ever had.
The agent organized a private pickup to the minute for every transportation and helped with the logistics for some excursions (such as a van brought our luggage while we were riding the ATV). Of the whole trip, the only thing we did not like was the visit to the Taquila island, since we were on a boat with 35 people and we were rushed on numerous occasions.
The hotels they chose for us were extremely good, always very central. Particularly good was the one in Cusco, in the middle of the historic center.
Throughout the trip, we had a contact person in Peru (Thank you, Lisbeth!), always ready to help us and answer questions.
The trip was unforgettable and organized nearly to perfection, I truly don't think I could do the same on my own. My only reservation about Kimkim is a bit about the price transparency. The money we paid seems a little high given the local prices, but in fairness, we got quotes from other travel agencies, and it was in the right ballpark.

What an amazing experience. Yes, what you see in the picture is going to be your room. Perfectly maintained little paradise in the middle of the jungle, only reachable by boat. A semi-private guide took care of us for 3 days, bringing us the excursions to Lake Sandoval, on the river at night to see caimans, and some walks in the nearby jungle to see trees, birds, and more. Meals were included and very good.

Amazing meal at the pachamanca farm. It was cooked in front of us in an inground oven filled with hot stone. Everything was so fresh and tasty. Ollantaytambo was very interesting, we did not have a guide but we ended up hiring a private guide on the spot. It was super interesting to hear about the inca and how it was built. The train to Machu Picchu was cool, with a panoramic view (glass roof).

Amazing view. We truly enjoyed the short walk on the Andes with an alpacas along the way. This is the new site (there is another rainbow mountain a lot more popular) and we were the first one to reach the top. The kayaking was good, but it was attached to the group (a very large group) to go to the Taquila island. We were rushed to he island with the Uros, and also, all the time, on the Taquila island, we were rushed. I strongly advise getting a private tour on the lake instead; this excursion did not work for us. A real pity since the kayak part was nice. Also we were expecting 1.5 hours of kayaking but we did only 1 h.
