James and the team at KimKim were absolutely spectacular in putting together a family vacation for us to Spain and Portugal. James listened to our goals for the trip and planned out an exceptional itinerary that fit every need from transportation every step of the way, to fantastic hotel selections, both in quality and location, to perfect excursions each day. He found a perfect balance of finding the right experiences for us at every stop while not trying to cram so much in that we felt rushed. In Barcelona, we had a fantastic bike tour with Olga, walking tour with Eli and amazing private cooking class with Rosa. Each representative was exceptional. Victor gave us a wonderful hiking tour around Palamos on the Costa Brava and Margeurida and Peter were awesome in showing us the beauty and history of Lisbon. This hotel location was amazing, right on the water and cliffs of Fornells just outside the town of Begur. The views were incredible as was the service of the staff. The rooms and everything about the hotel were spot on. We would stay there again every time. My only very minor nitpick is the need for some type of casual dining. We had dinner there one evening and it was great, like a high end restaurant. But on other days after a busy day exploring the area, unless you have a car or take a taxi into Begur, you need to have a fine dining experience on site. Again, very minor and overall this hotel is awesome.

Lisbon Riverside Bike Tour

If you want a great history lesson of Portugal while taking in the sites of the riverfront area of Lisbon, take a bike tour with Peter. He's exceptional, gave us a great tour, is very outgoing and knows EVERYTHING about Portugal. All from someone who was born in England from Portugese parents and has returned to his family's homeland to teach others about the country. It was a fantastic day and great experience.

Marguerida led us on a half day walking, eating tour of Lisbon and it was a lot of fun. It was our first experience in Lisbon so it was fun to begin to get a little immersion into the area. She did a great job of showing us around despite being rushed by our need to squeeze in Covid tests to be able to return to the U.S. Marguerida is studying tourism in college and will do great in the field. Very personable and knowledgeable.

After 2 days of seeing Barcelona, it was a ton of fun to relax for a few hours in a private cooking class with Rosa. She was tremendous, highly engaging, obviously incredibly knowledgeable about cooking, and it would be hard to not think she was an American, her English is flawless which made communication excellent. She found the right balance of getting everyone involved to their level of experience and interest and was a treat to be with for 4 hours. A big hit on our trip.

Eli (Elisabeth) was great to be with, giving us an in-depth tour into 2 of Barcelona's most famous landmarks, the Park Guell and Sagrada Familia. Both were amazing and Eli is an encyclopedia of knowledge of the sites. Even in times of stress when we couldn't find taxis to the sites (due to a Formula One race being in town), Eli ran all over to get transportation and make our trip a memorable one.

Our hotels were perfecto, thank you Andrea...all in City centers, all with easy to access transportation. Hotel staff in all three hotels, Naples, Positano and Rome were very nice.

From the beginning, Olman listened to our wishes for the trip and worked hard to make our experience a memorable one. There were a few minor issues that were quickly resolved. While we were in Costa Rica, Olman was very responsive to questions we had. The excursions he arranged were great. We especially liked the ziplines in Monteverde. The hot springs of All the accomodations were first rate and contributed to our overall experience of Costa Rica. Would definitely use KimKim again.

Our recent family trip to Madrid and Northern Spain was my husband and daughter's first visit to the country, although I had been several times before. Despite this difficult-to-please audience—veteran Spanish traveller mixed with newbies, not to mention the short attention span of a 9 year old—James planned a wonderful trip to Madrid, Oviedo, Santander and Bilbao, complete with personalized walking and museum tours, a car for flexibility, and comfortable hotels. He was very receptive to my feedback along the way and organized just the right balance of free time to planned activities, and each of the walking tours planned was engaging. Highlights included a tour of Madrid's markets and tapas with Melinda (she was accommodating of our slower speed due to jet lag and connected well with our daughter); a private walking tour of the city and the Prado with Cristina (who tailored the activity to exclude sites we'd already visited and opened our eyes even to secrets of familiar Prado masterpieces); and an architecture- and art-focused walking tour of Bilbao with Esther (who was patient enough to allow for playground and snack stops).

The only activity that I would offer feedback on would be the tuk tuk tour in Madrid, which could have been more impactful (and less grueling than a walking tour!) if it was scheduled as an initiation to the city, the day we arrived/after an overnight flight.

We also appreciated having the help of Rocio while in Spain as our in-country concierge whenever we had questions during the trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Spain trip, have recommended Kimkim to our family and friends, and we're already thinking about the next trip they can help us plan!

Mathias understood right away our needs and wants and developed a great trip that left out nothing. Since we have family in Ecuador, he was able to weave in our requirement to do some things with family.
Sebastian, our guide, was equal to the task of integrating everything we were to do. Tip: go over the next day's schedule with him the night before so that he knows your expectations. He is great at anticipating needs and wants and fulfilling them before you can even ask.
All in all, a fantastic trip of a lifetime. This is the way to travel.

Tamer created us a brilliant trip to the Galápagos Islands which turned out to be the most wonderful experience. Tamer was extremely helpful with all our requests and very quick at responding and assisted us beyond what was required! What we loved were the personal touches including greeting us as Quito airport and checking in with us whilst we were out there, not to mention my generous bday gift! All tours and pickups were smooth with no issues. We had lovely hotels with excellent views, friendly staff and were all clean. Acacia hotel was our personal favourite. All three islands were beautiful. We would highly recommend the Pinzon snorkelling tour, Kicker rock, the volcano Hike aswell as the trip to Espagnola! Memorable guides include Vivienne from Santa Cruz who took us on the highlands tours to see the amazing giant tortoises and Sol in San Cristobal. We will be forever grateful to Tamer for organising this trip for us who even went out of his way to help my husband plan something nice for my birthday. We would highly recommend!

Cannot give enough thanks to Lorena, she was continuously available both during the trip and for months before. There was no day where she did not get back to us when we had questions or concerns, which made our first trip to South America much more smooth. She has many contacts to connect you with in the area and knows what she is doing. Trust her and her group entirely to plan your trip.

All tours and activities were authentic and had locals and experts guiding them. Each of these local contacts and guides were also easily reachable and went out of their way to make sure they met our needs when possible.

Amazing experience, and something we'd never be able to coordinate ourselves without the Kim Kim team's local knowledge and detailed planning.

Our driver, Tarik, was brilliant. He adjusted the itinerary on the fly, helped us find the best coffee (critical!) every morning, even played with our kids and kept them entertained when they needed a break from tours and experiences.

Morocco isn't an easy place to travel around yourself (especially with three kids under 10) so Kim Kim was perfect to take the research and detailed planning out of it, and let us just relax and know we were doing exactly what we should be doing.

We have nothing but praise for the team at Himalayan Trails and kimkim! This was our first fully guided trip, and our first trip with kimkim. I can definitely say that it won't be our last.

Our trip coordinators, Kripa and Erin, listened to our input and designed a perfect trip, combining cultural sights, light trekking and wonderful views of the Himalayas. They were very helpful before the trip with advice on preparation, packing, logistics, immigration, etc. During the trip, they checked in with us numerous times to make sure everything was going well. Everything was flawlessly coordinated. We always had someone picking us up at the airport or at our accommodation, and a driver was always waiting to take us to our next destination. This is quite a feat to pull off in post-Covid Nepal, which is just getting back into tourism after two long years of pandemic. The team is clearly well connected and has great relationships with the tourism industry in Nepal.

We had two guides during the trip - Pratikshya for the cultural sights, and Tendu for the trekking portion. Pratikshya was very attentive and knowledgeable about Nepali culture, history and tradition. Apart from the beautiful Durbar squares of Patan and Bhaktapur (a must visit when coming to Kathmandu), one of the highlights of the tour was seeing the awe-inspiring chariot in Patan. The chariot is constructed in May for a big religious celebration, and Pratikshya went out of her way to make sure that we saw it.

Tendu was a wonderful trekking guide! He is a Himalayan mountain tour expert and a very positive and friendly person. Our trek was very light for Nepal standards (our choice), but he kept it very fun and interesting. He pointed out all of the different mountains in the horizon (he knows them all very well), told us about other treks that we could experience in the future, and pointed out the local flora and fauna in the region. He also took us around some of the farms in the hills near Pokhara, where we interacted with local farmers. The tea houses were much nicer than we expected, and Tendu always made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The highlight of the trek was breakfast at the Basanta lodge in Dhampus, where the sky cleared up and we could see the Annapurna mountain range. We also want to give a special thank you to our wonderful porter, Lakpa, who is a legend in his own right, having summited Mt. Everest six times!

Overall, I can't recommend the team at Himalayan Trails enough! Thank you so much for all of your hard work and hospitality! Nepal is an incredible country with so much to see and experience, and we highly recommend Himalayan Trails for anyone wishing to experience Nepal!

We had 4 separate local tours arranged by KimKim for our week long stay in Milan, each one on a different day and with a different local guide. We did the Navigli tour, a day trip to Como, guided Last Supper tour and tour of Brera district. Only one tour was done with a small group of 3 couples, the rest were just us and a dedicated guide. All 4 guides spoke English and only one spoke less fluently. And he was the least 'able' of the 4 guides we had. We just felt that he lacked experience in stewarding a tour group. The other 3 guides were great - they were attentive and pointed out interesting stuff to us. We really like Gianluca who guided us for the Last Supper tour, and for our metro ride to get around Milan; he helped us to be watchful of pickpockets. Also tour of the Pinocoteca with Lorenza was very good. And when the trip ended, she made sure that we got to the taxi rank to get our taxi back to our destination which was very nice of her. While Nicoletta (at KimKim) was our planner before we arrived at Milan, Jessica was our local contact (via WhatsApp) at KimKim and she was ALWAYS online to answer our concerns - like when we couldn't locate our guide at the meeting point for the day etc. So overall, we had a very good experience with KimKim and with the local tours.
However, the tours in total cost quite a bit and we didn't check if we could have gotten a better price had we planned the 4 individual tours ourselves without getting an intermediary like Kimkim to organise for us. The trip to Milan was planned in a rush which was why we decided to use KimKim instead of planning it ourselves. We were very keen to see the LAST SUPPER and that seemed to be the most challenging tour (with a guide) to organise on our own. And we were glad to have Gianluca for that tour. Perhaps that makes it all worthwhile.

We travelled about guided by our guide - so we chose the metro. We would not have opted for public transport without a guide due to pickpocketing concerns.

Our Italy trip was amazing! We had exceptional service from every person we encountered.
It was our first time in Italy and we wanted to visit Venice, Florence, Positano, and Rome. Fabio designed a perfect travel plan and chose top notch hotels and tours. He was happy to make changes and work within the budget we gave him. Alessia, our lead concierge, was attentive to every detail and went above and beyond to help locate and retrieve some lost luggage. She was so kind and communicated with us daily to make sure our vacation was going well and to review our itinerary for the following day. Our transfers from city to city were easy and stress free. Every concierge was pleasant and eager to help. I knew from the moment we arrived that we were in good hands and that I wouldn't have to worry about anything. I highly recommend the kimkim team and will definitely use them again!

Our first trip to Colombia was nothing short of amazing! Andrea and our team of local guides (Juan Carlos and Jasmine, to name a couple) made sure everything ran seamlessly and added so many special touches to our planned experiences. We especially loved our stay at El Nido del Condor Ecolodge; it was beautiful and offered a quiet respite from the busier days touring Medellin and Cartagena. We couldn’t have thought of a better trip and would absolutely use KimKim again in the future!

We thoroughly enjoyed all the places we visited We loved walking the streets of Lisbon, exploring the countryside out by Evora (and the Casa Do Governador was a fabulous recommendation!). Even with the difficulties we encountered along the way, the addressing of which Tiago provided invaluable support, we were charmed by the southern coast and had great fun surfing -- even in the wind and cold! Also, your restaurant recommendations were excellent. I was initially pursuing those that I had researched myself, but once I tried one of yours, I realized that that was the way to go. Thank you for everything, Tiago, and we hope to visit Portugal again soon.

Valentine planned the perfect trip to France for us. The hotels were modern and clean, the activities were a lot of fun and catered to our instrest. She was also very quick to respond when we thought there was a mixup with a reservation and clarified things immediately. My best friend and I treated ourselves with this trip as a birthday and graduation present and we will definitely be booking with KimKim again 💙🤍❤

Working with James over the past two years (thanks to Covid!) was wonderful! He worked with us to plan a trip for our 8th wedding anniversary to Begur and Barcelona in May 2020, which we ended up postponing for two years, and turned into a 10th wedding anniversary trip! The accommodations he recommended and activities planned were perfect for what we like to do when we travel. We particularly enjoyed our time with Olga in Barcelona - she spoke perfect English, was entertaining and knowledgeable, and was very personable. Thank you, James, for a wonderful trip!

Our culinary and wine tour of Portugal was excellent! Our specialist was always available for communications and everything went very smoothly. This was our second trip with Kimkim and they go above and beyond. It won't be our last!

The location was nice, but it was 100km from our hotel. The food was minimal and we didn't eat with the local family. Dialogue with them was also minimal. This is one I would have skipped.

Hakim is a professional tour planner. He is very knowledgeable and took care of the smallest details. He was always checking on us during the trip making sure all is going well.
Our driver, Mohammad is the nicest, most respectable, knowledgeable person. He drove us through very difficult terrains giving us some history about the areas we were crossing and the peoples customs and cultures. He made our trip very enjoyable and we felt safe with him. He is a true gentleman. Our guides, Yousef, Hafid and Yassine were excellent and very knowledgeable. They made us understand a lot about Morocco, urs history and the way of life. Thank you KimKim for assigning such great professionals. It made our trip extremely enjoyable.
