We had an incredible experience with our tour operator, Guðmundur Óli Pálmason, who curated a fast-paced, see-it-all Iceland adventure. Our itinerary covered the classic must-see sights along the South Coast as well as the stunning Snæfellsnes Peninsula in the west, a beautiful region that feels more off the beaten path and absolutely worth exploring.

The trip combined scenic self-drives, unforgettable natural attractions, and unique activities, with plenty of opportunities to soak in Iceland’s geothermal pools. Every day was thoughtfully planned to maximize experiences to see as much as we could in a week. Guðmundur’s deep local knowledge, organization, and personal attention made the journey seamless and memorable. We highly recommend him and will definitely use him again when planning our next trip to Iceland.

Our family had an amazing 10-day trip to Morocco over the New Year’s Eve holiday early this year. Morocco was a very good choice for our trip - so many friendly people, beautiful landscapes and fascinating history. The itinerary put together with Hamza really made the trip for us. We started in Rabat, which let us see the capital city first to get oriented, and then traveled around the country clockwise, ending in Marrakesh.

The highlights of the trip for us are too many to mention. Off the top of my head: seeing macaques in the snow in the Middle Atlas mountains, riding camels at sunset in the Erg Chebbi desert, learning how to properly prepare Moroccan tea in Imlil, seeing daily life in the backstreets of Marrakesh, eating dinner with a local family in Fes, and taking pictures all of the many, many cats.

We were fortunate to have Samir as our driver for the trip. Samir is an excellent and professional driver, very safe and knowledgeable. He was skilled at communicating the logistics of our tour, keeping us informed and checking in on us through WhatsApp. Meeting times and places were always clear and easy. Samir made sure we moved efficiently from place to place, found our other local guides, and helped us get the most out of everything along the way. Samir’s many kind touches along the way were a great part of our wonderful trip.

Samir suggested many stops based on our interests, and all of them were top-notch additions. We especially enjoyed the Atlas movie studio visit in Ouarzazate, the stop at a geology museum and rock shop, and many interesting food and cultural places along the way. His advice on local customs and his familiarity with towns and people and food along the way were a big help.

All of our local guides were also outstanding: Sharif in Fes, Hanan in Marrakesh, Ahmed at Tiziri Camp in the Sahara, and Mohammed in Imlil.

We had an absolutely wonderful trip to Peru for our 15th anniversary, and so much of that is due to the planning and execution from KimKim! Everything went flawlessly from airport pick ups to tours, recommendations, and communications throughout our journeys. Our time spent with Luis was a highlight - he was able to share a lot of the local flavor and history, while just being a great host to us over several days in the Sacred Valley. Our accommodations were top notch as well. We hope to return to Peru someday and will definitely recommend KimKim for any upcoming international travel!!!

The itinerary had early mornings and it presented some challenges particularly on hotel-change days, you’re up early, you arrive at the next destination, and then end up losing a lot of time just waiting around. Check out time is typicallt 10:00am and check in time is 3:00pm. Hotels allow for early bag drop off which is great but you're dropping off your bags, lined up with everyone in the same area as those checking out. By then you’re usually tired from the travel itself and could really use a shower or short rest, but instead you’re stuck filling the day — until check-in time. The result is you start the evening already exhausted, with little energy left for anything social.
As an example, I arrived in Osaka at 10:30 am, couldn’t check in until 3:00 pm, walked around for hours, had lunch, and by the time I finally got into my room, my feet were sore, I was overheated, and just wanted to shower and rest. I unpacked, repacked for the next day, and ended up too tired to go out my last night — which became a theme of this trip. I definitely packed too much into each day and would recommend doing less each and extending your time in each city.
That pacing would give more time to actually enjoy each city rather than rushing through it. Frequent hotel changes really take a toll!

Even though I didn't travel during peak season, the crowds were intense. Kyoto was especially overwhelming — Kiyomizu-dera Temple were shoulder-to-shoulder, and after 4 hours I still hadn’t reached the actual temple. In the Gion district, the narrow alley ways were intensely crowded to the point of being frustrating. I eventually gave up and found a tiny English pub — something I could easily do back home :(

One last note — tattoos are still a challenge in Japan. I was stared at or ignored in several places, including restaurants and at both tattoo friendly sento and onsen, which left me feeling self-conscious - with that said there were more moments of feeling welcomed. I often ended up eating lunch and dinner from convenience stores — the food there was great, varied and affordable but I missed out on restaurant experiences. It might be worth mentioning to other solo female travellers with visible tattoos that they could face that kind of reaction, just so they’re prepared.

My Australia trip was phenomenal! Vicky had every detail of the trip covered from getting us the best airplane seats to having our pickups arranged without any difficulties. Our excursions were more than I had imagined. I wanted as many animal encounters as possible.
Holding baby joeys, feeding kangaroos, watching flocks of cockatoos soaring over the mountains, experiencing the penguins waddle out of the water to find their nests. All amazing! Plus snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef!! So many beautiful things to see and do !

The Blue mountains are beautiful. And seeing the flocks of cockatoos was amazing. However this is a very physically demanding tour with lots of steps ( in 1 part there were 1000) and no safety rails. It was wet and slippery also. If I had known I would not have taken this tour.

We had a wonderful 10-day vacation in Portugal. Pedro did a great job setting up hotels, drivers, and guides. He really listened to what we wanted and adjusted the trip to suit our interests and uncertainties about how much walking some of our group could do. He communicated easily and regularly with us, including staying in touch via WhatsApp during the trip. We got upgrades in 2 of 4 hotels. The vans were super roomy for the 4 adults and accommodated all our luggage. Drivers were helpful and knowledgeable, and tour guides were great. We especially loved our walking tour of Lisbon's Alfama district, the Fado dinner, the day trip in the Douro Valley with private cruise and lunch and tour at a wonderful winery, and the Pousada at the former convent in Belmonte. The trip was a nice mix of city and country, private tours and time on our own. Everyone we met in Portugal was super nice and helpful, including people on the streets or in shops and restaurants. Thanks Pedro and the entire team.

Our guides Ae, Pukie, Dani and Milk were all wonderful. Kind, caring and informative. Working with Elena was easy. She was professional and so responsive to questions and concerns. She advised and guided us well on this adventure.

Even if you do your research, it is always daunting to be in Australia and book a tour via email with an unknown company in another country. However, in this case our eight day tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina with Green Visions was excellent and delivered on all aspects.

Firstly, our contact with Samer in the Bosnian office was prompt, positive, efficient and reassuring. He initially solicited information from me about our requirements and interests and proposed a draft itinerary. We sent this back and forth a couple of times until we had a plan that met our needs. Each time, Samer provided advice but also listened to us.

Secondly, the itinerary was as comprehensive as it could be in our timeframe but also varied and offered diverse experiences. The pace of the tour was relaxed. We discovered that the beauty of a private tour was the flexibility. Even with the itinerary we could vary the day by eliminating or adding places or spending less or more time at places, so long as we were at our accommodation that night. The hotels all met our needs and were centrally located. The minibus was basic but sufficed. The price of the tour was very reasonable we felt.

Our guide Lorenc was very knowledgeable and organised and communicated clearly. He was also flexible so we could change things spontaneously as we went along. In can be quite hard to be in a car with a stranger for several days but Lorenc was personable and easy to talk to about a range of topics. He was generous in spirit, shared his passion for his county and nature and provided a deeper understanding of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its people, history, and culture. We had quite a few laughs along the way too. In the end we appreciated his consideration and care of the two of us and he showed a genuine concern that we should have the best experience of his country. Lorenc is a very thoughtful and kind man. While Green Visions largely offers adventure and hiking tours, I would recommend them for cultural tours too.

Irene did an amazing job or organizing our trip. Travel was seamless, getting from airport to train station to scheduled tours.
I would have to say Florence was my favorite part of the trip. It was a bit more laid back and less crowded. We really enjoyed our cooking class!
Anna, our tour guide for Pompeii was wonderful. Very informative and easy to talk to.
Kathy, our guide for the Colosseum did a fantastic job. Showing us Palatine hill (which we were not even aware of) and showing us the history of the city and ending the tour with the colosseum.
Such a special and memorable trip.

It was absolutely a fantastic trip, and everything was really perfect.
Katsu was very responsive. We had a couple of calls with him where he explained things and offered different suggestions. Also, our original plan was slightly different, and he was really good when I decided to change it all.
The guides were excellent! The three guides that we had were Sachi in Kyoto/Osaka, Hanna in Tokyo, and Eriko in Hakone. All three of them were excellent and spoke excellent English.
I will definitely use kimkim for our next trip!

8 Days in Bolivia: Our trip to Bolivia was very well organized and went according to plan. Camila was able to accommodate our requests in the planning stages and answered all of our questions prior to departure. We appreciated having names and What’s App numbers for our guides and drivers. Our guide in Uyuni, Liroy, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He made sure we had all of the best photo opportunities in the salt flats, and our driver did a great job of organizing and setting up our lunches during the 3 day tour. The landscapes in the areas explored were incredible. Our last day was scheduled to be quite a long day, so we requested to scale back the number of sites planned. Our guide in La Paz and Lake Titicaca was David, who shared his expertise and love of his culture through the historic sites, traditional foods and music of Bolivia. He was generous with his time and ensured that we had a terrific experience throughout the 3 days spent together.

David did an amazing job of sharing the best of La Paz. We loved the gondola rides over the city, and the walk through the historic old town. David’s English is excellent. We enjoyed learning about the people of Bolivia and their traditions and beliefs. We even added a stop for some specialty coffee at HB Bronze in La Paz.

Bolivia

The excursion today was expected to take about 14 hours, given some of the slow and bumpy road conditions in the south. My husband was not feeling well, so we visited the flamingoes in the lagoons, and skipped the green and red lagoons and geysers. This still took about 7 hours. I think the days are not balanced in terms of drive time - day 2 seemed lighter and day 3 too long. I would suggest a different mix of hotels to allow drivers to reach the south in a more reasonable time.

We had a wonderful experience working with Coraima to plan our trip and experience some wonderful memories. Her enthusiasm for the region and her flexibility in working with four different adults (with opinions) helped to create a vacation that met all of our needs. For me, the best features had to do with drivers that made transitions between regions worry free, and guides that provided the cultural history and local details of the area. Thanks for everything.
From Flamingo dancers to homemade lunches on a 500 year old working pig farm, we got to see not only the tourist sites but some Kimkim gems. Wine tours with Eduardo and a market day with Inaki gave us great insights into the Basque Country.
When there were questions, we were always able to reach out to someone who provided help.

Kimkim and our local specialist, Yuqqa, were amazing! They developed a custom program for us that exceeded all expectations- a credit to all of Yuqqa's hard-work and expertise. The blend of adventure, wildlife, and culture was top-notch, from camping in the jungle to orangutans and traditional villages. Kimkim was also very flexible and creative in coming up with alternative options when erupting volcanos and flooded villages made us change course. They were very good at listening to our needs and checking in to ensure they were being met. All the local guides, accommodation, and daily events were fantastic - a credit to KimKim's excellence and local expertise. We would highly recommend them and look forward to our next adventure with the company.

Majo was excellent to work with! She helped us create our own private itinerary of Peru and Ecuador and was available all the time throughout the trip - she even helped us book an uber from her home one evening when my family were out for dinner without cell service. She stayed on the line with the driver until we got to our destination. That is just an example of her exceptional service and care she puts into her clients and their experience. Our guides each day were similarly helpful and knowledgeable.
We had an unforgettable trip to Peru and Ecuador thanks to the careful planning and continued support throughout from Majo!

Our tour didn’t actually end up following the itinerary. It was amazing nonetheless! We started snorkeling at Daphne island then went to Pinzon after lunch. There was no fishing experience. Other guests were able to request their meal for lunch but we were not invited to do so or it was not mentioned ahead of time to us. It was a bit of a problem for me but the staff improvised on the boat and got me a meal that was safe for me to eat due to a medical condition. That was appreciated!

We had a wonderful trip, and Michelle planned the trip well. As for payment options with Kimkim, you should have an electronic check option. Paying for the whole trip was difficult with only credit cards.

Someone at South Seas should have reiterated that they would take us to Sofitel. We spent several moments figuring out how to get there. The other transfers did work well. In an afterthought, we don’t think checking into the Raddison Blu a day early was not necessary.

We do wish kimkim could have booked our flights, we had some difficulties due to our experience level and our payment options for the whole trip. Overall thoughts:

Tokoriki was an awesome experience, it felt like family.
Raddison blu was a good hotel.
Sofitel was wonderful with good restaurants.
Michelle did great, we did wish for a little bit more to do schedule wise.
