I have travelled solo to many countries, and this was my first time travelling with the help of a travel company. I am glad I chose Kimkim to organize my trip because it was my best decision ever. They are very professional from start to finish. The tour guides from Bogota (Oscar), Medellin (Diego) and Cartagena (Alvaro) were very professional and friendly. I should also mention all of the drivers (Alessandro and Giovanni). I do not remember the drivers' names in Cartagena, but they were also professional. Their driving was very smooth, and I felt comfortable the whole time.

Portugal: History, Wine, and Sun-Soaked Coasts
Portugal offered a fantastic mix of historical exploration, delicious food, and stunning scenery. Here's a breakdown of my trip:

Porto: A guided tour with Tania provided a solid introduction to Porto's rich history and architectural beauty. We explored the Ribeira district and learned about the city's connection to Port wine.

Douro Valley: Nelson, our knowledgeable guide, led us through the stunning Douro Valley. We visited a family-owned winery for a personalized experience, learning about traditional Port production and enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal paired with their wines.

Matosinhos: This coastal town lived up to the hype. We indulged in some of the freshest seafood I've ever had – a must for any seafood lover.

Via Comburia & Évora: A day trip took us to these contrasting destinations. Via Comburia offered a glimpse into cork production, a significant aspect of Portugal's economy. Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, impressed with its Roman Temple and the haunting Capela dos Ossos.

Algarve & Benagil Caves: A trip to the southern Algarve region wasn't complete without a visit to the incredible Benagil Caves. The boat tour provided stunning views of these natural wonders. The region's abundance of fresh fruit, especially oranges, was a delightful treat.

Évora & Paulo's Pastéis: A day trip with Paulo included exploring Évora's castles and learning about their historical significance. The highlight was visiting his family's bakery in the old town for some truly phenomenal pastries – a perfect way to end the day.

Lisbon: We finished the trip in Lisbon, allowing time to explore the city at our own pace.

Overall: Portugal exceeded expectations. The combination of informative tours, delicious food and wine experiences, and breathtaking scenery made it a memorable trip. The hospitality of the locals, especially Tania, Nelson, and Paulo, added a personal touch that truly enhanced the experience.

Because of the weather Nelson offered to take us to a Port winery vs doing the open River Cruise and we were glad we did. It was a lovely location and the port was excellent. The private tour of the family winery we went to was wonderful, really got to see and learned about how they produced their wines. Topped off with a private traditional lunch they made just for us. A lovely day

Guides were overall good.
Youssef for hiking was excellent. The mountain trek up and down was as expected and invitatione to his house for a dinner and breakfast was a great experience.
Hot air balloon was fun and as advertised.
Tours in Marrakesh with Ishmael were also solid. Kind of ran out of items towards the end as I wasn't particularly interested in making any purchases of the items at places we stopped at.
Really enjoyed the stop at Volubilis, it was a hurried tour but still met expectations.
Fez top and tour went well too, similar to Marrakesh.
Chefchaouen was a great stop and glad I did spend a day there even unguided. Would have probably preferred to do 2 days there and maybe just 1 in Fes.

Driver (Ahmed) performed his job ok, no major issues.

Overall the Riads were good but there were issues.
Had an issue with the 2nd one in Marrakesh (Des Trois Palais) as they did not have me on the list to check-in and had to wait about 2 hours for them to have my room ready. Also did not like the one in Fes. It was not the same Riad as in description (Dar Tresor), but was Dar Chrifa. Smallest room I had in entire trip was in at the top of building (4th floor) - smaller than the mountain gite. Was next to the terrace; 3 separate times in 2 days I had people pounding on my door to enter the terrace. It is not marked and is very dark there. Do not book a single at that location, the other rooms were massive compared to that.

The tour was ok, 2 out of the 4 hotels were excellent , the other 2 below average.
The driver was fantastic but the tours all felt a bit bland - like the guides had delivered the same tour for 20 years - nothing spectacular.
Kimkim removed all the hassle and risk of making any decisions ,was good to know we had support if anything in India went paired shaped.

We really enjoyed our 3 week trip to Spain & Portugal & the itinerary provided by Raquel. The hotel selection was perfect. Great locations especially our hotel in Ronda which had an amazing view!!
The tours Raquel arranged were well planned, each adding something different to our experience.
The gourmet food tour in Barcelona, flamenco show in a cave in Granada, hiking the Caminito del Rey & boat ride to Benagil caves in Portugal were favourites!

The trip is wonderful, the hotels are very local and unique.
Mar is very nice in helping out with all the questions, it made my trip planning a lot easier.

We had a good combination of driving, cruise, train, get to see many different areas of Norway.

We had an amazing experience with kimkim, mainly due to our incredible specialist, Sebastian. Sebastian was always quick to respond, was very thorough, and was flexible when we requested adjustments...and even when we decided to extend our trip by a day at the last minute! Particular highlights were our Roman Ruins (Jeremy was the guide) and Best of Provence (Emmanuel was the guide) tours, the Maisons du Monde hotel in Marseille and Cloitre du Saint Louis in Avignon. Additionally, our dinner on the Eiffel Tower was magical, every transfer was arranged perfectly, and when minor hiccups occurred (like our daughter left her passport in a hotel!), Sebastian was extremely helpful.

I highly recommend kimkim, and would plan a trip again with Sebastian without hesitation! Thank you for everything!

My group had an outstanding trip to Peru. From our pick up in Lima to our drop off on our final day, everything was taken care. All of our drivers and guides were incredible and made our trip feel fun and special. We did a food tour in Lima and then flew to the sacred valley, where we hiked and visited a number of Incan sites, including Macchu Picchu, and we ended our trip in Paracas, where we relaxed, took a boat trip to the ballestas, visited the nazca lines, and did sand boarding. The customized experience allowed us to get a perfect mix of experiences for our group in the most fun and comfortable way. I would definitely recommend Kim Kim to anyone looking to book an incredible vacation.

The room was lovely and clean, but the experience at this hotel was strange. They wouldn’t give my husband and I each a key card for the room because they ran out of keys, but we both wanted to come in and out of the room at different times. We had terrible service at the restaurant (for example they brought out the wrong order for me and didn’t bother to correct it after I mentioned that the order was wrong, and service was slow), and the food wasn’t very good. They also put the wrong charges on our room and it took a while to correct. I also found the vibe strange - it felt like a hunting lodge meets wellness retreat.

My wife and I spent a wonderful six days on tour across Sri Lanka with Dami (Daminda Bandara). I think we drove a little under 700 miles. Everything went very well: we saw lots of magical sites, ate delicious food, and engaged in exciting activities. The tour was very well planned.

Dami was a fantastic tour guide and driver. He is outgoing and friendly, and a very enjoyable travel companion. A proud Sri Lankan, Dami provided us a good history of his native country and of the various sites we visited including Sigiriya Rock, various temples, and a game drive. He is also an expert on native birds and could identify even the smallest birds from a distance. Impressive!

Throughout our tour Dami was an attentive guide and a good listener. On his advice we switched things up on the tour agenda so that we could climb Sigiriya in the cooler morning rather than the heat of the day. Dami learned we liked various foods, e.g., beetroot and chocolate, and he made sure we got to try some Sri Lankan beetroot curry and chocolate. Dami also pulled over on our drive to show us various sites and locals at work. For example, we stopped to see how coconut oil is made.

During our climb and descent of Sigiriya Rock Dami was very helpful to my wife who was leery of the uneven and gravel-covered steps.

Dami ensured we were well fed with high-quality food throughout the trip. All the lunch sites at which we stopped were delicious. One lunch might well be the best meal we will have had this year, at the Old Palm House in Galle.

Importantly, Dami is a careful driver and ensured that we were safe throughout the trip.

Overall, we give Dami the highest rating and would whole heartedly recommend him to others as a top-notch tour guide.

Argentina exceeded my expectations if not more than I ever thought it would. Such an incredible life changing trip. The culture, the food, the people, the atmosphere I can go on. Claudia was a tremendous help with booking everything. She truly can fulfill your bucket list. She tackled everything that was on mine! History, wine, adventure, downtime, etc. the hotels were exactly what I wanted if not more. The flights were easy to navigate as well as the transfers to hotels and airports. Our second trip with kimkim was terrific. We had great local guides and our coordinator, Kateryna, booked us into wonderful hotels. We saw an overview of Scotland, with a night in London to start and a night in Dublin right before we returned home.
Our activities included tours of Edinburgh Old Town (Robert, our guide, was great), Edinburgh Castle (a second great guide), castles and countryside under the umbrella of an “Outlander” tour (lovely and fun, great guide: Stephen of Edinburgh Black Car Tours), a seal watching boat tour (bad weather, unfortunately), a whisky distillery tour (fun), a tour of Rosslyn Castle (beautiful—both with Edinburgh Black Cars again), and the highlight, Isle of Skye on a 75-degree, sunny day (spectacular, and a great guide: Sandy Dear Tours).
We enjoyed several fine dinners. Notably, The Witchery in Edinburgh was reserved for us by our coordinator.
We feel we got a good first introduction to Scotland. Kimkim set us up with tour guides we never would have found on our own.
After booking two trips with them (Spain and Scotland), I feel that is their strength: finding guides that really know their areas and are personable and enthusiastic. We enjoyed our trip and, should we go back, have parts of the country we would like to visit in depth.
We will use kimkim for our next trip.

A self-check-in property. We did not receive the code before we arrived and had to contact our kimkim coordinator so waited a bit in the rain. The property is outside Fort William about a 20-minute taxi ride. Clean, a bit dated decor, not as convenient as we hoped given we did not have a car. Restaurant was closed, which we were not informed about prior to arriving, so we had to venture back and forth to the town to eat and to meet our boat tour. Overall, fine, but expensive and inconvenient.

From the beginning of planning with Mayrem to the find drop off at the airport with Omar - the trip met all expectations. Yes, there were a couple of hiccups but that is to be expected with any foreign travel.
Fes: Omar quickly introduced himself and was extremely pleasant and accommodating. He provided many resources to us for our stay in Fes. Said was OUTSTANDING as a guide. He not only told us about the history of the country but also oriented us to life in Morocco and how Morocco was accepting of all people. His tour through the Medina and Mellah was complete! The accommodation here was tops!
Sefrou: Unfortunately the guide was just ok - he didn't take us to the places listed on our itinerary and that was what we really wanted to see. He did take us into a cave house which was cool but not what we wanted. His commentary was just average.
Casablanca: The drive to Casablanca with the stop in Volubis (sp?) was fabulous. The guide provided a lot of detail but was difficult at times to understand if he was not looking directly at us. In Casablanca the drive tour provided us an overview of the city. We asked Omar if we could add the Jewish museum and he agreed. He even went with us and provided some details about how the Jews and Berber traditions overlap. It was informative for all.
Marakkesh: Our guide, Mohammed was almost as good as Said. He provided enormous details about the history, culture and government like Said. The tour the first day through the gardens and YSL and Berber museums were wonderful. The tour through the Medina was carefully planned by Mohammed!

The tour wouldn't not have been as wonderful with Omar - I cannot say enough about how he made us at ease in each of the cities knowing he was right there. My SIL had left her ring in Fes and he coordinated having it delivered back to her in Marrakesh. He made recommendations for dinners and was agreeable to anything we asked. His driving was superb!

This was a vacation of a lifetime and I know I will use and recommend kim kim as a travel agent to anyone who asks for a recommendation. Morocco Immersion is a top notch agency and would recommend them as well.

I contacted Kimkim to help organize a long awaited family trip to Peru with my husband and 2 adult sons. We chose a 2 week vacation including Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and the Amazon rainforest. We worked with Liz who helped us condense the 2 week trip into 10 days. We did everything we hoped to, including the one day hike on the Inca trail leading to Machu Picchu. Liz was great. She helped with every request and responded quickly each time.
The trip was so easy! We were met at the airport in Lima and taken to our hotel, picked up the next morning, taken to the airport for our flight to Cusco, and were picked up at the airport there and taken to our next adventure, and it continued that way through the whole trip. It was so nice not having to think about our transportation or accommodation. Many of our meals and tours were included. The local guides were great - David in the Sacred Valley, Angel on the Inca trail and Machu Picchu and Dennis in the rainforest. All were knowledgeable and well spoken and personable. They really made our trip special. I would not hesitate to recommend Kimkim to anyone.

We did three cities in Italy in just over a week with at least one structured guided tour in each stop. All of our tours were informative and interesting to us. I think our Venice tour surprised me the most. I enjoyed Venice but after walking around and sampling foods with our guide, I really appreciated how much of a low-key place Venice really is and our guide Gianni was accommodating and so easy to interact with.

As our specialist, Melanie, did a fantastic job keeping in touch as needed and also helping to make adjustments on the fly as plans can and will change. During our planning I hadn't thought too hard on what I call the spaces in between - getting to and from public transportation to our hotel and where to meet our guides. Melanie had all of that taken care of it made a world of difference in how relaxed I could be to enjoy the sites, sounds, and experiences without worrying about logistics and our next steps. We were able to BE in Italy and not just whirl winding from one thing to the next. I would absolutely do something like this again and if we make it to Italy again, hopefully Melanie can sort us out then too.

The staff were lovely. We felt so welcomed. We had a mini-suite which was awesome for keeping luggage out of our way and a space we could move without feeling too cramped in smaller rooms (which is understandable in such an old city with limited expansion options). I LOVED the exterior shutters as a great insulator against noise and light as we came to terms with jet lag. The hotel's location was great for us. It's on a quiet canal, just off some busier streets and areas so we didn't feel like we were in the thick of things, but everything was accessible.

Sonia, John and I want to Thank You for putting such an Amazing trip together for us! Your communication and responsiveness are Outstanding! We are totally exhausted but are both smiling from the inside out! Barbara, our boots on the ground concierge, was fabulous! Each hotel was perfectly located and each had something special to offer! The drivers were punctual and courteous. And the tours, and their guides were Amazing! Our guide in Radda in Chianti, Francesco, was awesome! He rolled with the punches and made our day! It was great that he was also our traveling companions driver for their wine tour the following day. Also, it was great having the same driver for almost all events in Sorrento! Luigi helped make our entire visit to the area very special! We want you to know that the day we spent at the lemon farm/pizza making place was so worth it! The family run business, the people and the cheese! Bellissimo!
And, although I really had no desire to visit Rome, John did, and so it was…. For this I am grateful! What a spectacular place! Our city guide, Marina, was lovely! She has a true passion for her city! And our colosseum guide, Dennis, was equally as passionate for the history he shared with us! He actually made the gruesomeness of the history kind of fun! If thats possible 🙃… We highly recommend them both!
