We loved this hotel! It is beautiful. The decor is fabulous. I would definitely stay here again. The view of the waterfront from our room was amazing. We delighted in watching the boat traffic and seeing the mountains off in the distance. Thy do offer parking behind the hotel. The lounge was lovely. The staff was friendly and helpful. They do not include breakfast with the room but the cost did not seem unreasonable.

We mostly enjoyed this hotel but I have some mixed feelings about it. The rooms were dated and dark but comfortable. The surroundings were beautiful. The staff at the desk were competent and efficient. They were not rude. There were a couple of things that seemed more difficult and frustrating than they needed to be but nothing that wasn't manageable. For instance, the lock on our door was difficult to engage. It took us a minute to lock and unlock our door. It's not something I think about normally during hotel stays. Entering and exiting is normally effortless. This was a bit of a hassle and I still remember. Hotel parking was ample and convenient. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. It offered a wide variety of delicious food. One of the buffet staff from Romania talked with us comfortably. We liked her a lot. We did glimpse the Aurora Borealis here. There is a wonderful sauna and a huge hot tub which accommodates a lot of people. We met other tourists while taking a soak.

Stykkishólmur

Beautiful view of the harbor and the ferry that travels to the western fjords from our room. The clerk at the desk was the friendliest and most helpful clerk we encountered. The Hotel Fransiskus Stykkisholmi was one of our favorite hotels in Iceland. We loved the town, the restaurants, the waterfront, and the people. If I go back to Iceland I will definitely return to Stykkisholmi and the Hotel Fransiskus. Also, the breakfast buffet was so tastly. The hotel used to be a convent for Catholic Sisters. We were told the hotel preserved the original Chapel per the request of the town's residents as it held a special place in their hearts and in their history.

We went to 3 lagoons and the Sky Lagoon was our favorite. The showers and changing rooms were clean and included a swimsuit dryer and plastic bags to transport your damp suit to the car. It was soooo beautiful and magical. To enter the lagoon one walks down a ramp to enter the warm water and then swim between what looks like small fjords to enter the main pool. There were plenty of rock benches to sit on to lounge. The waterfall cascading into the pool added a special element. One long side of the lagoon overlooks the ocean. We had dramatic views of the clouds rolling in. We stayed here about 3 hours. It snowed giant, fluffy snowflakes, then it sleeted before snowing some more!!! It did not seem crowded. We ate a delicious lunch in their cafe.

Only comments we have just to assist future travelers:
1. The travel from the ferry to the hotel in Sifnos is very short and probably does not require a car.
2. It is recommended to tip 10% on all tours, but with everything being booked through KimKim we had no idea what 10% was. Maybe just include a note for recommended amount on each tour/excursion?

Our 5 day trip through Morocco was a whirlwind, expertly executed by our driver Karim. Having never booked a formal tour before, we were very pleased with the balance of structure and free time this itinerary gave us. Having a driver safely covering long distances from Fes to the desert and ending in Marrakech was far more relaxing than attempting to do this on our own. We learned from our city guides in Fes and Marrakech and so much more through conversation with Karim that went above and beyond anything from a guidebook. We especially loved Fes, but the highlight was our night in the desert. The journey to the camp by camel, delicious dinner, and traditional music around a campfire was spectacular. The 5 day option is an excellent introduction to a wonderful country but we highly recommend building in time on either end to extend the experience as we did. Or, book a longer tour!

Of the walking tours booked, I much preferred the guide and style of the one in Dublin. It felt more personalized as he reached out to each individual/traveler group to understand their interests and provide appropriate recommendations. The Cliffs of Moher tour was stunning, but only because we got very lucky with the weather. Unfortunately, we only got just under an hour at the Cliffs, which was not enough time.

Lodging was always in a safe and easily accessible location.

I hope to visit Ireland again and work with Adrian again!

I really appreciate the specific feedback as well. That’s super helpful for me. The note about the Dublin walking tour is great to hear, that more personal, tailored approach is exactly what I try to prioritise, so I’ll definitely keep leaning into that style of guide. And on the Cliffs of Moher, you’re absolutely right, the views can be incredible (and I’m glad you got lucky with the weather!), the time there can sometimes feel a bit tight on group tours, so that’s something I’ll be more mindful of going forward.

It was an absolute pleasure planning this with you, and I’d love to help you explore even more of Ireland next time, there’s plenty left to discover!

(You know who to say hi to for me!)

Morocco is a remarkable country, and we had an amazing adventure. The costs were reasonable, the communications before the trip easy and complete, the guides were fantastic. Specially, I greatly appreciate the guidance from our driver and trip manager, Ayoub. He was much more than a great driver. Ayoub was a fountain of information about Morocco and Moroccans. It was wonderful getting to know him and to spend many hours in the van with him. We were lucky to have him as our guide from beginning to end. The local guides were also all quite amazing. Hisham in Marrakesh, Omar in Imlil, and Rasheed in Fes were all superb guides. They were all so intimately connected to their communities, excellent at communicating with us, and deep sources of knowledge and understanding about the history, culture, contemporary society, and places to visit. I consider them teachers as well as guides.

When I travel, I want to learn about the country and the people. But, of course, one can learn only so much about a country in a little more than a week. Nevertheless, through their guidance, Nihad, Ayoub, and our local guides provided an experience that gave me a much better understanding of Morocco and Moroccans. I hope to return in the future.

Such friendly staff and nice accommodations! The location is fantastic- steps away from the Tower of London, close to the tube, and so many great pubs! Our room was very nice- we appreciated having two bathrooms, and the sleeping accommodations were great. It was so nice to have a kitchen and laundry as well! We did wish for a way to prop the doors open- at times, we felt very closed off from each other, so we used shoes and towels to prop open the doors within our suite.

What a lovely place. I wish we could have stayed here longer! The staff was so friendly, the breakfast was wonderful, and we met such great people in the fireside lounge. Being right across from the Sligichan river was such a cool experience- we loved starting our days by plunging face-first into the water! Seamus's Bar, which is attached to the hotel, has a fantastic vibe, great food, and such fun and friendly staff. We'd love to stay here again! Our room was top notch as well!

The hotel is very tired. Apparently, there are renovated rooms, but I didn’t have one. The breakfast buffet was good enough. The restaurant was very basic, though I did have a good green curry there. The Kamala area, where the hotel is located, is about an hour from the Old Town and it was difficult to get a Grab to pick me up. A taxi would have cost about 700 baht each way. The Rees Hotel

A beautiful hotel with a great view. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, but I was surprised at how small the dining room was, so that people had to wait. One morning we were directed to a dining room on another floor, which was fine. I was disappointed that the walking trail to the central city was closed and we had to walk the highway sidewalk. We used the shuttle service to and from central city a number of times and luckily, we learned to make reservations. It was very timely and worked well. We had been told it would go to different locations in the city if needed, but that was not correct. But we made it work without any issues.

Authenticity & Character
Beautiful lobby and rooms.
Location
It was a 40-minute walk to the central city. The shuttle service was valuable.
Staff
Very courteous and helpful.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Kingsgate Hotel Te Anau
Te Anau

Upon arriving at this Hotel, it felt more like a Motel 6! It had no character, seemed old and outdated; there was not a patio or any place we could sit to enjoy company with our travel mates. There seemed to be a bar, but it appeared closed and very small. Our room was particularly dreary with a dark brown carpet that invited the belief that it was dirty. I did not feel comfortable stepping with my bare feet on the carpet. The whole building seemed old and outdated. The only plus for the hotel was the breakfast buffet which was very good. The front desk staff were not helpful, and even somewhat rude. I asked about the availability of coffee and maybe some fruit for our very early travels, and they told me to make coffee in my room (which was terrible) and to go to the grocery store before it closed! Maybe it was the tone in which they said it, but it bordered on being rude. Not helpful.

Authenticity & Character
Seemed old and run down.
Location
Good location on the lakeside street, but no lakeview - as we thought there would be.
Staff
See my comments above.
Cleanliness & Comfort
While the room was large enough, the condition of the room seemed run down.
Lime Tree Lodge
Wanaka

Unfortunately, because of a mistake with our hotel booking, we only had one night here. We noticed immediately that the property was for Sale. Which is rather concerning. The grounds were not well kept. Our room was pretty small and felt crowded. I liked having the patio where we could sit. The dining area was very nice, and we noted that all of the guests were scheduled around each other to allow for private dining at the one table. It was also awkward to get coffee, since it had to be prepared by the staff - not easily available. The breakfast itself was wonderful - we all liked it. The staff was very courteous - we enjoyed many aspects of the property. I don't see the second night where we had to relocate to the Edgewater Hotel! We liked this hotel very much!

Authenticity & Character
The overall character was good - it just seemed to need a little more care.
Location
It was not easily accessible to the city of Wanaka. it took us some time to get back and forth.
Staff
Very attentive
Cleanliness & Comfort
The room was rather small and seemed crowded.
The Hermitage Hotel
Mount Cook Village

This hotel was fantastic, with all of its amenities and the views! It was crowded at times, and we were not able to take advantage of the coffee shop and its patio. It took a little time for us to get familiar with the restaurants and need to make reservations. The breakfast buffet was great, and we did have dinner at the hotel one night - which was likely the most extensive buffet I have seen for options. Our room had a fantastic view of Mt. Cook - we loved it. It would have been nice to have a balcony to be able to sit outside and enjoy the view with a glass of wine.

Authenticity & Character
A modern hotel, but great amenities.
Location
The hotel was located close to the village, so that we could walk to the nearby sports bar and dining. We also walked to the nearby Hooker Valley trail - to walk as far as we could with the trail closed.
Staff
All of the staff members were very helpful and courteous.

Lake Brunner Eco Lodge

The Lodge has a lot of character and different room styles. The dining room and outdoor patio are lovely, with a nice fireplace in the dining room. We had thought the Lodge would be closer to the lake than it was, but it was just a short walk. It was very peaceful.

Authenticity & Character
This property is older, and shows some wear in places, but older character is very endearing.
Location
We walked to see the glow worms, only a short distance away. Also, there is a waterfall nearby.
Staff
Brenda and her staff were sweet and very helpful in recommending options of things to do.
Cleanliness & Comfort
I loved our room. It was very spacious and had a bay window looking out at the lake.

Boutique Wine Tour - Half Day
Queenstown (NZ)

This activity turned out well, and we are grateful for the help of the travel agent the night before to be sure the wine tour did not prevent us from getting to our Hot Tub experience. The Wine tour driver was so courteous and was aware of our time crunch to get from the wine tour to the Hot Tub. He volunteered to drop us off directly at the Hot Tubs and make our schedule work. We are grateful for everyone working to make everything work together. The wine tour itself was interesting and a great way to see the communities near Queenstown and learn about the local wine industry. Our tour guide was excellent and told us a lot of facts about the community and the wine industry. The wineries were interesting and it was a nice way to spend the day.

Quality of Experience
The wineries we visited were beautiful
Food
The food was good, but not as tasty as I expected.

Full-Day Jet-Boat Adventure & Funyak River Safari
Queenstown (NZ)

We were not expecting an hour bus drive from Queenstown, but it was a comfortable bus. We liked jet boat experience; it was something we had not done before. The boat driver was obviously an expert! We also enjoyed the funyaks - it was an exciting challenge to steer the boats clear of rocks and other boats. The directions of our funyak guide were at times confusing, but we made it without getting wet! It was an active experience, and I loved the views of the river and the mountains, along with the stories about the filming of the Lord of Rings.

Quality of Experience
The scenery was great
Food
The lunch provided was great! Much better than I expected.

Half Day Milford Track Giant Gate Guided Walk+Milford Cruise
Te Anau

The Guided Walk was longer than I anticipated, but it was a lovely walk! The group was larger than I expected also! There were 13 guests and the hiking guide. The waterfall at the end of the hike was great, and the hiking guide was also very good. The walk did seem a little rushed, but I know we were on a schedule to be able to make the Cruise. The Cruise was the favorite part of the activity. It was beautiful to see all of the waterfalls and the steep sides of the sound. The Cruise went further out into the open ocean than I expected. We saw dolphins as we came back into the sound - a real treat!

Quality of Experience
We liked the day of activities. Beautiful scenery!

Glacier Boat Trip -
Glacier Boat Trip -
Aoraki / Mount Cook Village

This trip was a dud! There were no icebergs floating and the glacier was not very recognizable because of all of the dirt. There was no calving of the glacier. Our guide did the best he could and was very knowledgeable. But after the boring 20 minute walk with 40 other people, and then some time in a boat with little to see - it seemed like a waste of time.

We loved the helicopter experience. It was a first for all of us. We had an excellent pilot, and he was great at telling us interesting facts. Our scheduled flight was pushed back a half hour, and we were told to check in an hour before the trip. We waited around for 1 1/2 hours - which was not a great start to the experience.

Quality of Experience
We did land on a glacier, which is a great experience.

Our pilot was great!
