Overall, we found the experience to be very good. While the itinerary was somewhat fast-paced, it was ultimately very satisfying and offered a nice balance between cultural activities and experiences specifically enjoyable for the girls. We truly appreciated the effort and care that went into designing the program.

That said, we would like to share a few recommendations that we believe could help strengthen future trips:

First, in some cities we arrived in the late afternoon and were directed to places that were already closed or about to close. This happened in Kanazawa, where despite rushing, we were unable to access the gardens, which closed at 5:00 pm. It might be helpful to adjust recommendations or arrival times in these cases.

Second, several of the guides did not speak English well. While we fully understand that the general population is not expected to speak English, we were told that we would have support from guides with at least an intermediate level of English. Unfortunately, this was not always the case. We prefer not to mention names, as we feel that would be inappropriate, but we believe this is an important point to take into account.

Third, the last day in Osaka felt too short. It may have been more beneficial to spend less time in another city in order to make time for Osaka or possibly skip Osaka altogether.

Finally, we suggest taking into account the situation we shared regarding the museum in Hiroshima, in order to be especially careful with schedules during public holidays.

We share these comments with appreciation and in a constructive spirit, as we truly value the experience and the work behind it.

From the planning process to the trip itself our holiday on Peru was exceptional. Martina was patient and helpful with all my questions, and the interaction on the ground was amazing - every aspect of the trip itself was amazing and more than we expected (the tours, accomodation etc) but what really stood out was the communication - every day we received a WhatsApp message outlining what to expect and how to plan for the following day. This made our two weeks so stress free and allowed us to just immerse ourselves in the experience. For this one month holiday we booked through three different KimKim agents, but Martina and her team on the ground were by far the best. An person visit and parting gift on our final stop was the icing on the cake :)

We had an amazing experience on the Rainbow Mountain Palcoyo & Canyon of Ananiso small group tour. The scenery was absolutely unreal, and our guide Henry was fantastic. We were lucky to have him for multiple days, and he was knowledgeable, friendly, and made everything run smoothly.

Both Alex and Marc, our driver / personal guides respectively for the Loire Valley and Brittany legs of out trip were very knowledgeable and helpful. Without Audrey, our travel specialist, Alex and Marc, the trip would have not been a success!

We had planned our family vacation a year in advance with great anticipation, but our experience with your tour company was profoundly disappointing. The itinerary provided bore little resemblance to what we had requested. The tour operator was rigid, unhelpful, and seemed more intent on promoting her own agenda than curating the personalized experience we had paid for. We felt deprived of the sights and experiences we had carefully chosen and expected.

It is difficult not to question whether we paid for a custom trip only to be directed toward what suited the company’s convenience and cost savings. Key arrangements, such as purchasing tickets in advance, were neglected—causing unnecessary delays. In one instance, tickets for my niece, a member of our group from the start, were simply forgotten. The tour operator, Aya from Sun Pyramids, created an unrealistic itinerary for the Giza tour day, expecting us to cross the city through heavy traffic to visit multiple sites—an impossible task. The overall planning and organization reflected a lack of attention and care.

Our final day was especially distressing. The guide refused to take us to certain sites, explaining that the company would not cover the ticket costs. This led to significant anxiety and emotional distress, as well as a complete waste of our limited time. It seemed evident that the company prioritized saving money over delivering the experience promised, while shifting the blame to us for what was, in truth, their failure of execution.

Aya demonstrated neither competence nor professionalism. Once the contract was signed, she became largely unresponsive, and her communication—when it occurred—was vague and unhelpful. Despite our considerable upfront payment, we were constantly asked for additional charges. One of the guides, Omar, behaved unprofessionally, frequently smoking and speaking on his phone while disengaged from the group. He appeared unprepared and frustrated, undermining the quality of our experience.

Despite these challenges, our family did its best to remain positive and make the most of our time together. We would like to acknowledge Ahmed on the Nile cruise, whose professionalism, kindness, and attentive coordination were a welcome contrast to the rest of the experience.

Overall, we feel profoundly misled and disappointed. We chose Kimkim because of the excellent experiences we’ve had with them in past vacations, but this trip fell far short of their usual standards. We sincerely hope Kimkim will reassess their partnership with Sun Pyramids to ensure future travelers do not endure a similarly distressing experience.

Yuliana provided an itinerary with an irreconcilable time conflict on one of the days—back-to-back activities with two different providers scheduled on the same day. I have a very disappointed teen who was excited about the waterfall visit, only to find out that we were unable to reschedule. There was no communication from Yuliana or anyone on the team for 48 hours, and no help with rescheduling or a refund, all following kimkim’s error in putting together a flawed itinerary.

We were disappointed about having to forgo the waterfall visit, and kimkim’s response further added to the disappointment. We contacted Yuliana multiple times; all we received were empty words that our “concerns are being taken very seriously,” but that “there’s nothing we can do.” Kimkim could have helped us with rescheduling or provided a refund, but instead we received “sorry, not sorry” responses.

The bottom line: Yuliana is great at booking four-star accommodations (which I can do myself as well), but not helpful at all when issues arise—especially issues caused by her faulty scheduling.

Kimkim/Original Travels did an excellent job planning our trip. Saïd was wonderful to work with and communicated with us frequently both before and during the trip. All the hotels and riads were very well chosen, with the exception of Dar MD, which felt a bit small for our taste, and Riad Bayti, which we would not recommend.

We had an amazing driver throughout our journey across Morocco. Tayebb was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made it feel like we had a guide with us for the entire trip. He shared so much about Moroccan history and recommended great places to visit and excellent restaurants along the way.

Thanks to Kimkim/Original Travels, we had a truly amazing experience. We will definitely recommend them to our friends back home and would love to plan another trip to Morocco with them in the future.

We just returned from our two week trip to Korea and had an amazing time! We traveled as a group of seven, including three teenagers and my 81 yr old mom. All the hotels we stayed in were comfortable and well located and all our drivers were experienced and knowledgeable and kind. Jessica was great to work with from day one when we started planning the trip and was always quick to respond to any changes to our itinerary or issues that arise during our trip. Our trip was tricky because we had to make everyone happy, and she listened to my concerns and accommodated everyone's requests. We would highly recommend kimkim and our travel agent Jessica for anyone traveling to South Korea!

Our trip to northern Queensland was excellent. Kimkim helped us plan a fantastic itinerary for our large group (7 adults, 4 kids) that fit our budget and preferences, with quick, helpful responses throughout. The local tour operators were outstanding—especially Salty Dog Kayaks, Back Country Bliss Adventures, and Sailaway Port Douglas—with the Mackay Reef snorkelling trip a standout highlight.

Our only regret was staying in Airlie Beach rather than on Hamilton Island. While Airlie and our accommodation were lovely, we underestimated how far it is from the most scenic parts of the Whitsundays. With limited time, we wish we’d paid extra to stay on one of the islands. We’d recommend future travellers stay directly on a Whitsundays island if possible.

Mathilde and Amandine created an amazing trip for my daughter and me! We enjoyed Christmas markets in 3 cities in Germany and spent the holiday in Paris. We are very appreciative for their local insights and suggestions, as well as their willingness to speak with us to discuss details.

Our trip was amazingl. Kim Kim paired us with the local travel provider “Original Travels”. To begin with, we were supported by Abdellah who helped guide us to our booking. Once booked, we were handed over to Saïd who ably supported us, quickly and patiently answered all our questions. Once we arrived into Casablanca, we found two of our checked in luggage had not arrived. We filed a complaint with the Royal Maroc Desk, exited the airport and met Ayoub, our driver for the entire trip. He immediately took us to several stores to help us buy immediate necessities like tooth brush, a few clothes etc. With that, we started our trip with a promise from Air Maroc that they would send our suitcases to Fes once they arrived in Casablanca. The two suitcases arrived at Casablanca on Dec 23. But Dec 24 and 25 came and went and they did not arrive at Fes. So, on Dec 26 we told Saïd that we needed to go to Casablanca to try and get our suitcases instead of continuing to the desert camp in Merzouga as per original plan and requested him to make needed changes. Ayoub drove us to Casablanca airport and patiently waited for several hours while we tried to wade through terrible bureaucracy and rude staff at the airport baggage claim. Luckily with the help of a gentleman named Karim who took personal interest to find and get us our luggage, we were miraculously united with the two suitcases. In the meantime, Saïd silently and efficiently worked out needed changes which included booking us into a Riad for the night at Fes, delaying our arrival at the Desert Camp in Merzouga by a day and adjusting our stay in Boumalne Dades by a day. Everything was seamless! In addition to driving, Ayoub was a repository of knowledge and helped us learn about culture, music, geography and history of Morocco. He also guided us to good shops along the way and helped us buy high quality rugs, ceramics etc. in addition, for tours of Fes Medina Mohammed, the guide was very good. Idriss, the guide for the tour of Marrakech Medina was very good as well. Overall, a very memorable trip of a beautiful country and friendly people and tasty food!

I need to talk about Amazigh music. Our driver Ayoub played this form of music throughout the trip and we have gotten hooked. We don’t understand the language but the tunes have a meditative chant-like quality. It was fun drawing parallels with certain forms of folk music from across the world and playing some samples as we drove past gorgeous countryside!

The place was very quaint and beautifully decorated. However there was one small problem. The single restroom had a small window which let in outside air which was cold. So at night we shut the window. Next morning we realised that a smell had accumulated in the restroom, the kind of smell that happens when sewage does not flow smoothly. We reopened the window and that took care of the issue. That apart, it was a pretty property with great views from the terrace and a very good breakfast.

There is a rendezvous point where a 4-wheel drive Toyota Outlander came and picked us up from our large Kia SUV and drove us over dunes to our desert camp.

Mohammad, our tour guide, picked us up from our Riad and we drove to one main gate of the Royal palace and walked from that point. He was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of history as we walked through the medina. The medina itself is amazing and a veritable feast for our senses! Not to be missed! Fes is an ancient town and holy to Islam. It also has the oldest Royal palace and the current King Mohammed VI spends most of his time here. We were told the climate helps his asthma. The alley close to one of the main palace gates has lines of homes with balconies. We were told these homes were owned by Jews. For protection they chose to live close to the palace. Inside the medina there is Al Qarawyn, an ancient mosque established in 985 AD and an ancient madrassa with beautiful ornate calligraphy established in 1400s. Also right there is a large tannery where all kinds of leather is processed and there is a large shop for leather goods where one can buy high quality leather goods. Apart from above spice shops, sweet shops, little shops with all kinds of things and milling crowds make a fascinating mix. Beware of the labyrinthine alleys. One can easily get lost!

It was pouring rain the evening when we arrived in Chefchaouen. Walking the hilly streets in the rain was fun and next morning we took a self guided walking tour of the main sites and also went down pretty alleys and at times got lost. Volubilis Roman ruins with frescos like ones in Pompeii were interesting. Our guide, forget his name, looked and sounded very like Joe Pesci! We drove through Moulay Idriss to get a sense of the little town. From Volubilis it sparkled on the hillside in the afternoon sun like a jewel. It is a holy site for Islam and non-Muslims are not allowed into any of the mosques or holy sites. So, not much to do. In Meknes there is a mausoleum. We did not go in. Not sure if non Muslims are allowed to. We checked out the nearby shops and then had a very good lunch at a traditional restaurant just close by….

First, Veronica was absolutely terrific. Top notch customer service; incredibly prompt and knowledgeable. She never hesitated to go the extra mile for us, particularly with restaurant reservations. We didn’t have the time to research these, and she was so helpful in this department. Thank you so much! I would also compliment the team with whom I spoke on the phone, who asked a number of targeted and insightful questions that helped with the initial itinerary. They also were great when i edited/modified the itinerary. No push back at all.

As for experiences, these were the top:

1) Lucha Libre - an absolute must. Our guide was fantastic - mezcal tasting, walking tour and the match itself. Just fantastically fun.

2) Teotihuacan - a must do as well. Luis was incredible. Walked the whole thing with so much fun, insight and attention to detail. The photos don’t do it justice at all. Preserve your leg strength for lots of walking and steep steps!

3) the cooking class with Pame in Roma Norte. She is an excellent teacher and we loved the other attendees.

4) the cartoon museum in El Centro. Visit the caricature artist.

5) the kayak tour of the canals (Xochimilco) and the axolotl place. We had a great time but do know that the canals are dirty. Our guide was very nice; just know he had limited English. He even gave us a bonus bike ride through the village, which was super fun, and delicious coffee at his excellent coffee shop.

Criticisms :

1) The tour guide for El Centro was sub-par. He really didn’t know his way around and stalled for times at points.

2) we did not like Porfirio’s or Mestiza Polanco (both restaurants in Polanco). They were too corporate. In all fairness to KimKim, they were very nice and safe, etc, but just more corporate than we normally eat in.

Two other things:

1) check out Museo Jumex - it’s great and free. Also loved the cafe.

2) I did not find many people who spoke English. This is (or course!) fine, but for those who don’t speak Spanish, you should just be aware before you go. Mexican hospitality is amazing, so everyone was so nice and patient with my rudimentary Spanish (plus Google Translate helps).

Great trip loved everything. we really enjoyed ourselves, The guides were friendly, personable and very informative. Everything in country was excellent and very fun!

My only complaint, is that at the time of planning the trip, I feel it was not made clear at all, that I was responsible to try to book and pay for all the domestic flights (AFTER paying for the total trip in FULL)- meaning that some of the already paid for tours would be missed due unavailability of flights. One of the most significant reasons I utilized your company to begin with, was to avoid doing all that myself. However, to be fair, even though I felt misled then abandoned (after payment in full) by the initial in country planning agent, after vociferous complaints to your Colorado headquarters the situation was resolved. My concerns were not at all about cost (money was never an issue). I just felt it wasn't clear. If I had understood, I would have just said please do the domestic flight booking and just include it in the total price.
But it all worked out in the end!

Jimena from KimKim was truly wonderful to work with. She met with us over zoom several times to go over our goals and ideas for the trip, and she helped us work out all logistics. When we were in Chile everything worked perfectly and we felt very taken care-of. Even when one of our excursions was cancelled, KimKim had already rebooked us on a new one before we even knew there was an issue. We will definitely use them again for future travel abroad plans!!

This was more than I expected! The entire trip was well conducted and communicated the entire time using “KimKim”! We were blessed with clear weather which allowed the crew to truly appreciate our time. Alexandra was a blessing! Her knowledge and enthusiasm gave us a tremendous boost of comfort. We would travel anywhere with her again!

Our trip to Morocco was truly incredible, and we cannot thank the team enough for such a fully immersive experience. Every recommendation Nihad made perfectly matched our interests. From the accommodations to the tours and unique experiences, everything was unforgettable and allowed us to experience Moroccan culture in a meaningful way.
We shared lunch with the Berbers, hiked the Atlas Mountains, explored the Agafay Desert by camel and quad bike, wandered through the souks of Marrakech, relaxed in a hammam, and enjoyed the most delicious tagine meal prepared in the home of a Moroccan chef.
Our guided tour of Marrakech with Hicham was incredibly informative, and we learned so much about the history of North Africa. Omar, our tour manager, treated us like family. We had an amazing time with him and gained an even deeper appreciation for Moroccan culture. Throughout the trip, we felt safe, well cared for, and truly welcomed—we already miss him.
I cannot recommend this group enough, and we will definitely be using their services again in the future.

From the beginning the tour operator, Columbus Guatamala Travel, were incredible. From making a WhatsApp Group and giving us information before we even got there, to meeting them all at the office. All the guides were beyond expectation and spoke very good english. A special mention to JJ who spent 3 days with us travelling to Lake Atitlan, who was such a pleasure to have with us and nothing was too much trouble and he was very flexible and helpful.
Following on to El Salvador and Nicaragua, Katherine (Columbus Travel) was in the know about everything and kept an eye on everything we did, making sure everything ran smoothly.
Alfredo, who we had for day in San Salvador, was very informative and really good at showing us around.
Gerald, our guide in Nicaragua, was extremely knowledgeable and we learnt a lot and also was very flexible.

Christine went above and beyond in helping us plan an amazing trip to Korea. She balanced guided tours and free time to visit relatives. We started with a day long tour of Seoul highlights, and she included a beautiful tea ceremony with a local tea expert. We also did a DMZ tour, took a train to Busan, where we did another fantastic city highlights tour, and a day trip from there to Gyeongju to see the Bulguksa Temple and explore the history of the Shilla dynasty. Our guides in Seoul and Busan/Gyeongju were incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and led us to amazing food! All our train rides and transportation were perfectly on time and smooth. Christine, our agent, even surprised us by sending a birthday gift to my child at the hotel. She was the best travel agent and it was the best trip!

Our apartment-style suite was stylish, spacious, clean, and had an amazing view and our own laundry. But it lacked a front desk, a dedicated hotel restaurant, and daily housekeeping services. The self check-in was a little bit confusing because there were multiple entrances to the two towers. Any questions/issues during our stay were very quickly answered via WhatsApp, but if you prefer a place with standard hotel service and a breakfast buffet, this may not be the best choice.

Full Day Gyeongju Tour with National Museum and Bulguksa Temple

I’m so glad we took this day trip from Busan. Gyeongju was such a different experience from the big cities of Seoul and Busan. It had more of a village feel with traditional architecture. The Bulguksa Temple was incredible. We enjoyed the museum on Shilla history. And our very knowledgeable guide and driver, Mimi, led us to an incredible local soon tofu restaurant.

Our trip to Morocco booked with kimkim was amazing. The details, communication, and customization met our expectations. We understood and were willing to pay the extra cost associated with booking through a travel company, however, the cost breakdown was hidden, so you didn't really know what you were paying for.

Communication with the local specialists, Hamza and Said (with Original Travels) was great. They understood what was important to us and made sure we were kept in the loop with any changes. While everything was taken care of as far as hotels and guides, we had to proactively ask for confirmation #s, so we could feel comfortable and secure prior to arriving in Morocco. They provided all the details we asked for and we received everything we needed prior to arriving in Morocco.

What made our trip the absolute greatest was our local driver, Soufiane. He was the one that really made the magic and experience come to life for us. He struck the perfect balance of professional and personal - always making sure we were taken care of and comfortable. Our precocious 6 year old son was thrilled to be in his presence and befriended him almost immediately. By the 2nd day, Soufiane went from just being our driver to a friend to travel with. He was punctual, kind, and genuinely gracious. Without him our trip would have felt mediocre. If you travel to Morocco and book with kimkim, be sure to ask for Soufiane - you won't regret it.
