This place is right in the heart of a million restaurants, shops, street performers, etc. This was perfect for us, but also meant the rooms were a bit smaller, and there was sometimes a bit of noise outside. It didn't keep us up, but others may be bothered by it. Front desk was very helpful, and they greeted us with wine and pastries! Breakfast was only okay. Totally fine for a quick bite before tours, but we sometimes opted to venture off for a coffee at a cafe somewhere else.

Location was perfect - we could walk to lots of great restaurants and the marina. Hotel even decorated our bed with rose petals for our honeymoon. The front desk was very helpful - they called taxis for us, made recommendations, and lent us towels for all of our day trips. We also had the best meal of our lives at Otaka, not to be missed!!! The pizza place right next door was also great. The hotel breakfast here was only okay, but it was nice to have somewhere to grab a quick bite before leaving for the day.

Private Day Excursion: Sintra, Cascais & Estoril

We had lots of fun, and this was our last day of vacation! Be warned that the guide will not come into Pena Palace with you, so if you want to learn more about the rooms while you're walking through, you need to make sure you either have a guide inside or download an audio app for a self-guided tour. This didn't end up taking away from our experience, but we didn't realize that other groups would have tour guides leading them, so we were a little taken aback at first. As we kept walking though, we didn't feel like we really needed it. The town of Sintra was also very cute. We wish we had just been able to get lunch there rather than the designated spot which was tasty, but was essentially a food truck in a parking lot. Cascais was also gorgeous, and we probably could have spent a full day there lounging at the beach instead of just a few hours!

We loved walking the city with a private guide. Meant we got to break for a while and sit at a cafe while hearing about life in Porto. He also adapted the tour so we could end at the book shop we wanted to see! Walking tour was especially great in Porto because we really felt like we saw all of the city highlights. We ended up taking the guide's recommendation and taking an uber/spending the rest of the day along the beach starting at Praia da Luz and walking toward Matosinhos. So many fun beachfront restaurants for drinks and food!

We had a most amazing trip for approximately 30 days in France. We started our trip in Marseilles and ended in Fontainebleau just south of Paris. We travelled via train so we could watch the beautiful, changing countryside out the train windows.

We worked with Amandine and she organized an amazing itinerary for us. At the start, I had an idea of what cities / villages we wanted to visit but I needed assistance on where to stay and more importantly, how to get from Point A to Point B. Amandine made additional city / village suggestions and helped improve the routing. But more importantly, she helped to find and suggest things to do, places to see, day trips to take, and ensured we knew what was not to miss.

Amandine set us up with private walking tours to introduce us to new cities. Specifically, Valarie in Marseilles, Lucy in Arles, Marine in Toulouse, Agathe in Lyon and another woman in Angers. She also set us up on a small group tour from Marseille with a company A La Francaise where 5 of us plus our guide Nicholas went to several small villages in Provence and experienced lavender fields, ochre buildings, a large natural spring and a Sunday market. Not to mention our private tours to multiple villages from multiple other cities we visited - thank you Thomas, Rachel, Sebastian, Alex, Demitri, and Raphael.

On our own, there is no way we'd have found such small group tours with such knowledgeable guides full of history and fun facts. Nor would we have had such centrally located hotels, museum tickets, train tickets, etc. We were clearly well taken care of and in good hands with Amandine.

The tour was great, and Mihiret  was perfect. I am always looking for partnerships that allow me to send my travelers to countries where I don't have to be present to engage with them the entire time, and she took care of that. She made everyone feel welcome, she treated us like family, and, OMG I could go on and on. I've traveled all over Africa, this was by far one of my greatest experiences. We all felt like we were among family. Our drivers took care of us and met all of our needs. Everybody was so welcoming to us upon arrival. Great experience all around!

We were picked up by the very kind Hicham, who thought us a lot about the country. We spent 8 days driving from city to city and by the end felt as if we gained a new friend in addition to discovering the captivating Morocco. Chefchaouen's blue gem, Fes' historic medina, the mesmerizing Merzouga desert, Ait Benhaddou's living history, and Marrakech's vibrant souks. We were immersed in rich culture, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality. An enchanting journey that left an indelible mark on the soul. This is all thanks to the team that made it possible. From the booking agent, to the guides in every city and especially thankful to Hisham.

We had a great trip to Egypt and Jordan and truly enjoyed ourselves. We enjoyed the Pyramids and Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, and a Nile river cruise down to Aswan and then a trip to Abu Simbel. Afterward, we flew to Jordan for a few days enjoying Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea. Mohamed provided excellent help while booking the trip and answered questions, provided us with opportunities, and was responsive to our needs. We had a variety of tour guides while on the trip and enjoyed our guide in Cairo/Alexandria Mohamed, and had a fantastic time with Eslam on our cruise. In Jordan, our driver was a standout and made the time. The company picked us up promptly every day and had such great drivers and tour guides that it took the guesswork out of this trip and put us at ease.

Were I to book this trip a 2nd time I'd get a better sense of the pace - we were exhausted by the time we departed Egypt but this is because of how much we tried to cram into the trip. Many days started at 4 am and it would have been great to realize this ahead of time. I am very thankful that we booked this trip through an agent like Sun Pyramids as we don't think we would have successfully navigated Egypt on our own. My only suggestion would be if the companies could provide some guidance on tipping. We found advice across the internet to vary wildly and felt varying degrees of differing pressure. We have no idea if we under or over-tipped. We made lifelong memories with our family and were thankful for the experience - my son who has a particular fascination with Egyptology is hoping to return once the new museum in Cairo is open. A great experience!

We had the most amazing trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands - a once-in-a-lifetime experience. From the initial interaction with KimKim and Alvaro all the way through to our last day - everything was flawlessly planned and executed. Alvaro put together the perfect itinerary for us, and was always available during the course of the trip, and managed to change our plans at the last minute during our trip.

All of our guides, drivers, tour operators, etc. were excellent - special mentions to Chris and Alejandro!

Ecuador is a spectacular place to visit. I would highly recommend a trip - from the volcanos, cloud rainforest, jungle, Galapagos Islands, and the wonderful people.

Loved the trip overall. Excellent job by Valentine and her team. They were extremely flexible with all the changes we wanted to make. Even during our trip they assisted with all sorts of questions and even some changes. Overall the guides were good. The best guide was Jim in Fussen who showed us the castles, with a wealth of historical and current day knowledge. Overall we felt the trip was quite expensive, but most of it was the cost of hotels/restaurants in Switzerland and some of it was to do with our choices of guides, excursions and specific activities like driving around Nurburgring. Our family had an awesome time and we could not have done it without KimKim!

A beautiful trip well balanced between planned activities and free exploring. Reykjavic food tour and sites along the drive to Vik including many memorable waterfalls were a highlight. The hiking with Fjallabak trekking was amazing with a great opportunity to check out the backcountry huts in the highlands. Great time of year to visit with all the wildflowers in bloom. Fire and Frost Hotel was a great base for the Golden Circle as it is in a nice small town with hotsprings, but not too far from Reykjavic.

Liz and Lisbeth went all out to plan an amazing trip for our family - Mom, Dad and two teenage sons. The planning was very last minute, and we changed our plans significantly the Friday before our Sunday flight to Peru. Liz took it all in strides, and seemed to know exactly what right for our family - a wonderful mix of experiencing the unique food and drink of the region (food tour in Arequipa), the local family culture (staying with a family in Colca Canyon), the wonders of nature (Condors in Colca Canyon), the wonders of Quecha culture (the ruins in Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu) , and activities to keep the boys engaged (bike trip, white water rafting, zip lining, hiking parts of the Inka trail). All the guides were wonderful, all the transfers on time - this brought our family together like nothing else after 3 years of no travel due to COVID. Thank you, Liz and Lisbeth!

Angel did a great job in helping to plan a 2-week itinerary for my mother and I to Japan. Extremely thorough in making sure every day's details were taken care of (transportation, meeting times, hotels), and very responsive to any change requests. The itinerary was tailored well to the interests we provided, and she took extra care to stay within our desired budget. I would highly recommend Angel to anyone looking to plan a trip to Japan!

Don't worry! PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a lawyer and writer from the U.S. who has five kids. I had never used KimKim before and was super scared that Chris wasn't real, even after doing my homework. But thank goodness I decided to go for it. We had the MOST AMAZING experience. All we had to do was chat with Chris on the phone and explain our overarching goals and preferences, namely history and activity, no wineries, no sitting around. He took it from there and our trip was seamless. Every hotel was clean, cool, modern, and in the perfect location to walk to the things we wanted to see. (Chris picked ones that could easily accommodate our large family with every kid getting their own bed.) Every transfer showed up on time and offered relentlessly polite and helpful service. Our guides were knowledgeable, kind, quick-witted, and funny in a second language - which is super difficult! The agency was completely responsive, both before the trip and during it, texting me back within minutes. And they offered us "suggestions" for times when we didn't have an activity planned that were totally aligned with our travel style and desires: any restaurant they suggested was fantastic, any attraction worth experiencing. We won't hesitate to use Chris's group in the future. To have seven people co-exist for nine days with no drama in 100 degree heat because everything was just THAT well planned ... worth every penny.

The planning experience with Serendipity Adventures through KimKim was excellent and everything went very smoothly. We only had one issue before the travel regarding an accommodations booking mistake, but they worked hard to find a solution and I was satisfied by their resolution. The in-country support was also good - we had communications many days to answer questions and make adjustments, and Charlotte was responsive even throughout the weekend. Our tourguides through Exploradores (Andrés and Alex) and Maquique Adventures (William and Kenneth) made the experiences so special and personal, and I especially enjoyed talking with our Serendipity transport driver Alex as he drove us across the country. Would absolutely use these companies again and recommend!

We found the whole kimkim experience very good - very easy to find expert help on our chosen location and Cami provided expert advice and prompt assistance with all our queries while helping us to organise the perfect itinerary.

On our first day, the snorkelling trip to Anilao, our drivers, John and Ana were the best - so organised for all eventualities, kind and helpful. From an anticipated two hour round trip, they gamely took on an overnight 10-hour drive after we changed our mind about taking an overnight bus. We felt safe and looked after throughout, even after experiencing some unexpected road diversions which prolonged our drive considerably. They were incredible throughout, so calm and very kind, returning my daughter's sunglasses to the hotel several days after the drive when they found she had left them in the car. Thank you so much John and Ana!

The Anilao trip was a great introduction to diving off a boat into the sea. We had an expert guide in Alan who helped me -with my nervousness of the open sea - to try snorkelling - which introduced a whole sea world to me.

Jodie, our expert guide on the Banaue leg was wonderfully knowledgeable about the area, the rice terraces and the local community, of which he is a member. He helped us up and down some tricky (for us oldies) paths through the rice terraces and got us back in one piece. He took us to some amazing sites. After a hiccup with the airline (last minute cancelled flight), he made sure we were driven back to Manila in good time to make the rearranged flight. Jodie was all-round amazing!

The next leg, at El Nido was wonderful for different reasons. we had a lovely hotel, great staff, very kind and helpful again when we experienced another cancelled flight. Joel (and the team) at the Funny Lion was particularly helpful, making sure we had a laptop to help us find alternative flights at short notice (less than 14 hours from the original scheduled flight).

The trips themselves at El Nido were brilliant, we went island hopping on local boats with a great team led by Capt Mike and his expert photographer, Dodoy! We loved every aspect - the swimming, cave exploring, swimming in the (not so) secret lagoon and kayaking. Each day, we experienced the most delicious lunch on board the ship. Really wonderful experience. Thanks so much to Capt Mike and his team, and great fishing skills!

Bohol was great too - very different with excursions to see the Tarsiers and the Chocolate Hills and the lunch on board the Boat raft. Our guide, Gigi, was very knowledgeable and had brought a raft of interesting local items to illustrate and explain the island. The trip to see the dolphins the following day was wonderful - never to be forgotten sight of the dolphins and turtles and followed by another lavish lunch on board.

The Amorita resort was very relaxing - just what we wanted at the end of the trip with a wonderful spa which my daughter and I made the most of - perfect.

All in all, a trip of a lifetime - plus we managed to set aside the final day for a quick tour of Manila and Intramuros and the largest mall in Asia - MOA - one very happy daughter!

The car was very comfortable with lots of space to stretch on long overnight journey and the drivers were the best - John and Ana - see earlier review for details.

I booked an 11 day trip to Norway with KimKim with my 18 year old daughter for her graduation gift. I didn’t want to do a group tour, yet I needed help with planning, and the KimKim approach was perfect. We went back and forth a couple of times to land on the right itinerary. I felt that my local contacts, Maria and Femme really listened to what I wanted to do and adjusted accordingly. Ultimately, Maria and Femme planned a great itinerary that balanced the activities we wanted to do with travel time and also some downtime. Some days, we had scheduled activities, and other days, we had a list of recommendations to do at our leisure. Our trip consisted of 5 different hotel stays and an overnight hike/camp outing. Our activities included hiking, kayaking, biking, a sauna boat (awesome!) and a local cider tasting. They also recommended local restaurants. As to be expected for such a long trip, not everything went according to plan. However, Maria was always reachable and immediately addressed my questions. The best example of this was a rock slide that closed a tunnel and the only route to one of our overnight accommodations. Maria quickly found an alternative accommodation and dealt with the original hotel separately. It was seamless for my daughter and I. I highly recommend KimKim and will book with them again in the future!

We had a fantastic trip to Spain stopping in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and Marbella. Dalia did a great job securing hotels, a few private tours and rail tickets - all of which were top notch. She was also immensely helpful when I had questions or requests along the way. I would highly recommend Dalia and team and would work with them again.

We had a very smooth trip to Colombia thanks to Margarita and the local guides we worked with in Cartagena and Medellin. Would definitely recommend this service and use it again!

In general, the trip was very pleasant and navigating to each location was fairly easy. I do think the day to day activities in Bordeaux could have been better, and I don't think I'd go to Sarlat again without a car. The hotel in Sarlat was pretty basic...I wish we would have stayed somewhere nicer and in town (but we were trying to budget). Bordeaux hotel experience was exceptional.

Our guide, Isabelle, was terrible. She spent no effort educating us on the wine/experience. She biked meters ahead of everyone, no effort to interact with the others. We also only spent 45 minutes in Saint-Emillion...I would have preferred to spend a whole day there, with a lunch at a restaurant. And then at the end of the trip the guide had the audacity to mention giving a good tip (FOR NOTHING!). I was infuriated. Oh, and the lunch we were given at a tiny chateaux was sandwich meat with a small salad and bread. Not what I was expecting given the location where we were...should have been more chic and we should have been able to have more wine to drink! We were only given scant pours for 'tasting'. I've been to better experiences in Burgundy.
