Hien did an amazing job coordinating our first trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. She was very patient and accommodating initially as we worked through 6 different itinerary options before finally locking one down. Our 11 day itinerary included Hanoi, Halong Bay, Ho Chi Min city and then Siem Reap and Angkor Wat.
Hien organised everything and having drivers organised made everything easy.

We worked with Michael through Kim Kim to plan a 15 day trip to Colombia with our family and we had a wonderful time! As we were travelling with three young kids (all 6 and under) we found Michael to be very receptive and attentive to modifying our itinerary as needed to make our travels as smooth as possible. He planned an excellent trip allowing us to hit many highlights including Solento and the Corcora Valley, Medellin and Guatape, Tayrona, Minca, Cartagena, and Isla Murcura! We appreciated his honest advice for locations to arrange booked tours (as this is not something we usually do). The guides we had were fabulous and very helpful to have as we found English was often quite limited. Jose, Andreas, Rosa and Fabiola were wonderful to meet and very warm and welcoming. We had very smooth transportation and Michael went above and beyond to arrange to carseats for the kids which are very hard to find in Colombia. Our accommodations were comfortable and often very spacious for a family of 5! Another highlight for the very end of our trip was a communal meal in Bogota with 321 Colombia where we had a delicious dining experience to try an array of local dishes. Throughout our trip Michael was always available and helpful and able to answer questions which came up! This was our second experience travelling with Kim Kim and we were very impressed again!

We recently came back from an amazing 10 days tour of the beautiful country Morocco from Sep 16 – 25, 2023. This was a get-together of 44 classmates who came from various countries including, USA, UK, Pakistan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Canada.
All the arrangements made by the tour company, Original Travels, were simply outstanding. Their services were prompt and professional and courteous. The tour guides provided by the company were highly knowledgeable about the geography, history and culture of Morocco. They were polite and extremely helpful.
The tour company’s operations Manager Said and tour guides Noureddin and Ayoub who accompanied us during the entire tour always catered to our demands and looked after every legitimate request. They truly went the extra mile with a smile.
I would highly recommend Original Travels and Kimkim to all of my friends and family in Canada who might be interested in visiting Morocco in future.

Eric gave us the perfect adventure! He understood our needs and budget and was able to accommodate everything. He selected memorable excursions - we were able to see whales, dolphins, and seals in the wild; hike among gorgeous waterfalls and dramatic scenery; and we saw the Northern Lights. Our accommodations (at Hotel Odinsve in Reykjavik and Fosshotel Nupar in Kirkjubaejarklauster) were cute and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast offering at Hotel Odinsve and the view from our giant window at Fosshotel. We cannot thank Eric and KimKim enough for the fantastic trip. We will certainly look to KimKim in the future for help with more trips and will recommend both Eric and KimKim to all our family and friends.

The walk to the harbor was not difficult, and the boat itself was pretty great! It had a little indoor saloon with various sorts of beverages and snacks.

We had a great experience with the team at Columbus Guatemala Travel. It was our first time in Guatemala and Catherina helped draw up an excellent itinerary for us. This included Chichicastenango, Lake Atitlan, Antigua, and Acatenango volcano. They were very flexible to our interests and we got to learn about the culture and traditions, see and experience the sights, have some outdoor adventures, and relax and enjoy the hospitality.

Esteban did an amazing job as our guide and really made the trip even more outstanding. He was patient, enthusiastic, hospitable, knowledgeable, and flexible.

Logistically everything went according to plan and we didn’t have any missteps or hiccups. Yet we also had a fair amount of free time, flexibility, and optional activities that we made the best of. The team were all super-friendly and hospitable, and the WhatsApp chat group kept us all in touch at all times if we needed something.

Overall, we had an excellent trip and were very impressed by this beautiful country. Our eyes were opened to a new culture. The sights, the sounds, the food, and most importantly the compañeros along the way made this experience very memorable for us. I highly recommend you consider them if you are looking at Guatemala as a travel destination. Buen chilero :)

This was a really nice place to stay. It is pretty spartan, but was clean, safe, food was excellent, hosts were very friendly, and walking distance to the center of Chichicastenango. Had some issues with dogs barking at night, but room otherwise comfortable. Consider this if you are looking for an authentic Mayan highland experience near the bi-weekly market that takes place here.

Ok - this is a punishing climb unless you are exceptionally fit. It’s not technically difficult (no special gear needed other than shoes and a hiking pole perhaps), but is an almost continuous climb for five miles starting at 8,000 feet elevation. If you are young(ish) and healthy, you will eventually get to the base camp. But if you aren’t, seriously consider training for this unless you are already reasonably fit. And read all the reviews and tips (like about how to dress in layers, be prepared for rain, etc - it’s all true). That said, the views at the top are phenomenal. Fuego is erupting almost every 5-10 minutes and puts on quite a show. We stayed at a cabin that was enclosed but allowed great views from inside. Probably a once in a lifetime experience for most of us.

Dalia organized a memorable itinerary through northern Spain for us (USA) and our friends (Sweden). Throughout the entire process of considering, revising, and eventually confirming our trip, Dalia was always responsive and knowledgeable. She listened carefully to our interests and expectations and offered advice concerning the details. Her work for us included scheduling domestic (Spanish) airlines, auto rental, transfers, hotels, guides, and admission tickets when appropriate. During our journey, Dalia continuously updated our itinerary using WhatsApp and Unmapped as starting times, guides, and and other changes occurred. On the rare occasions that we needed her, Dalia was always available by phone and text.

Ours was a self-drive exploration of northern Spain over 2 1/2 weeks from Santiago de Compostelo to Barcelona. We stayed three nights in Santiago de Compostelo, Oviedo, Bilbao, San Sebastian and five nights in Barcelona. The Spanish 3 star hotels Dalia arranged for us were all excellent; three of them were spectacular (Hotel Altair in Santiago de Compostelo, Hotel Mira in Bilbao, and Hotel Niza in San Sebastian). Our hotels in Oviedo (Fruela) and Barcelona (Europark) were also quite good as well as very convenient. In each, the staff exceeded our expectations including front desk, housekeeping, breadfast services.

For each city we visited, Dalia arranged guides to allow us to better see and understand the major attractions. All were excellent. Specifically, each guide spoke English very well and were both enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. Particularly, we wish to recognize Cristina in Santiago de Compostelo (city tour), Isabel (Rias Baixas tour), Alexendra (Oviedo city tour), Sergio (Bilbao city and Guggenheim tour), Jose (Bilbao pintxos tour), Angel (Riojas tour), Edurne (San Sebastian city and pintxos tour), Dolors (Barcelona Gaudi tour), Jordi (Barcelona Penedes and Montserrat, Barcelona (Old city and Picasso museum), and Connie (Dali highlights in Figueres, Cadaques, and Port Lligat).

If one were to try to get to know each of the cities we visited, one could easily spend a week or two in each. Regrettably, that type of trip is not possible for us. The alternative is to stay 3-5 nights in each city and focus on both the sights and experiences most meaningful to us. Having professional guides adds tremendous value to our enjoyment and understanding and in addition, greatly expedites the process. Guides organize drivers and taxis, procure tickets, facilitate entrance to venues, and share their vast knowledge of history, culture, architecture, art, language, food, customs, and traditions. Our guides during our trip were also engaging, personable, responsive, and exceedingly well versed in their particular area of expertise.

The four of us greatly enjoyed our time together and the journey through northern Spain. Our entire trip was seamless, all due to Dalia's excellent planning. We will definitely recommend and call upon her for future travel in Spain.

Drive along the Spanish Basque Coast: {{start_location}} to {{end_location}} - No guide

The northern coast of Spain from Bilbao to San Sebastian is spectacular with a modern highway twisting around mountains, through tunnels, and over viaducts with great vistas of the Bay of Biscay at every turn. We were particularly interested in going to Guernica and San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Guernica, now famous because of Picasso's poignant painting, is the Basque town that the fascists bombed during the Spanish Civil War. This war crime perpetrated by Franco with the help of Nazi Germany purposely targeted a market day full of civilians in an unfortified town. The Peace Museum is a solemn plea for peace among all the people of the world. A large outdoor mosaic of Picasso's painting is a must see in the old town. The traditional Basque Restaurante Bolina El Viejo is a must, full of local families, with wonderful local wines and a menu specializing in sea food.

La Rioja Alavesa private wine tour

Riojas is one of the world's great wine producing areas, home to the famous tintos of Spain. This dry rocky region south of the mountains that separate this southern Basque country from the cities of Bilbao and San Sebastian has a terroir perfect for the traditional tempranillo, macabeo, and graciono grapes. Our guide, Angel, really knows his away around the region and the wineries. Our favorite wines were from Luis Canas in Araba where we tasted several blends of differing vintage, all excellent. The tour included the spectacular medieval town, Laguardia, residing on the top of a high hill overlooking a sea of grapes in cultivation. Angel also took us to see Richard Gehry's (Guggenheim architect) architecturally splendid Marques de Riscal winery.

Pintxo tasting paired with Spanish wines in Bilbao

We met our guide, Jose, at 7, rather early for Bilbao, but for us, the perfect time to begin our pintxos tour of the old town. Most of the Pintxos Bars we visited were in Plaza Nueva, a grand square surrounded by picturesque apartments and the home of some of the city's great food. Each of the establishments take pride in a particular style and ingredients of this seemingly infinite kaleidoscope of savory and sweet small plates. Typically, you take what you want from the beautifully curated displays and pay by the number of toothpicks left on your plate. Start with Basque country Txokoli, a slightly sparkling regional white wine and move up to fruity dry tintos from the Riojas wine region. Favorite tintxos include pulpo (octopus), anchovies, shrimp, and vegetables such as aubergine, tomatoes, peppers and olives.

Bilbao private city tour with Guiggenheim

Bilbao is more than the Guggenheim, but the Guggenheim is more spectacular that can be imagined. This spectacular building of soaring curvelinear architecture is a world class piece of art itself. The collection including Richard Serra's "Matter of Time" and the monumental sculptures "Maman" by Louis Bourgeios and "Puppy" by Jeff Koons, to name a few, are pieces that one can only see in Bilbao. The beauty and tranquility of the carefully curated riverfront blends seamlessly into the old town that has medieval roots and lovely 19th century art nouveau buildings. The Plaza Nueva is the hot spot of traditional pintxos and a gathering place for families of all ages.

Oviedo is the historic center of Asturia, home to the Cathedral that marks the beginning of the original Camino de Santiago. The 8th century old town, though extensively damaged during the Spanish Civil War, has been completely renovated to provide the markets, shops, homes, and public buildings that are the hallmark of a vibrant old town. Our guide, Alejandra, is passionate about her home and a fountain of knowledge concerning the history, customs, traditions, and culture of this beautiful ancient town surrounded by a modern urban community. A particularly fun tradition is enjoying "sidrar" a refreshing mildly alcoholic apple cider served ceremoniously by holding the bottle overhead and pouring the liquid into a glass held below the servers waist, all without looking at the process.

Apparently, few Americans who visit northern Spain take time to explore the Rias Baixas region. Actually, this is one of Spain's many hidden treasurers with forested terrain, picturesque estuaries off the Atlantic ocean, quaint small towns, and, of course, great Albarino wines. We visited Palacio de Finfena, a small historic winery, where we tasted wines from 150 year old vines in Cambados. Further along are the exquisite islands of Arousa and Toja including the surreal Ermida de Toxa church covered in huge clam shells. We enjoyed a traditional Galican lunch in a waterfront local restaurant, Asodor de Chiringuito.

Our guide, Cristina, is incredibly knowledgeable of the history, religious significance, architecture, literature, and art of Santiago de Compostelo. Particularly meaningful to us is her passion for the Camino de Santiago and for all those who undertake this pilgrimage both as an act of faith and of personal commitment. Cristina offered advice about further exploration of this historic town that we could undertake on our own and traditional restaurants that we could enjoy. There is much to see and feel in Santiago de Compostelo. Having a guide such as Cristina allowed us see and learn more than if we were to walk around with a guide book.

Jesse was amazing and super responsive (both during the planning process and the trip itself). The trip was planned very well, I got to visit every place I wanted and it all went off without any issues.

We had an incredible trip to Jordan. Samir was great with organising and being available throughout the trip. We experienced a couple of minor hiccups with one or two of the hotels which was no fault of the agency but the hotel themself which Samir and our driver Nader dealt with really well and sorted us out.
Our driver/ tour guide, Nader was very knowledgeable and treated us very well, like family. Overall wonderful trip and would highly recommend.

You made the planning process stress free. It would have been a nightmare booking all the individual accommodations myself. I will use you again for future vacations.

I can not gush enough about what a wonderful trip you had planned for us. Slovenia was a sheer delight. All the transfers were perfect. Our drivers Milan and Lukas were wonderful. Maya's team including guide Alenka in Lake Bled and Llubjiana was like touring with an old friend. The hot air balloon ride with Grigor was magical and the highlight of the trip. There was the right balance of activities (Gorge, Caves, Alps) and leisure time in the destinations. Milan even added in a stop at the National Ski Jump area in the Alp region which was a special treat to see folks practicing without any snow! Not only will I be singing the praises of Slovenia, but I will be sure to use KimKim for other trips in the future. Nikola made it all happen and kept in touch regularly to make sure all was well. He was terrific.

The tour your organised was very good and enjoyable. Accommodation was very good in all places we stayed. The food provided at riads you selected was also memorable. The only exception was the Riad in El Jadida where food was average or below and very, very expensive.
The guides were good, the first place goes to our guide in Rabat :).
Our driver Abdu is definitly en exceptional person, the star of this wonderful trip. Thanks to Abdu everything seemed easy, smooth and efortless. A great companion, not only the driver!

Had an amazing well organised trip, Heidi did a great job of suggesting hotels and excursion ideas, overall preparation and ongoing support was very strong. China is a beautiful country, people were lovely and friendly. Also appreciated all my local guides Alice (Beijing), Tracy (Xian), Kevin (Chengdu), Eric Fan (Guilin) and Run Liu (Shanghai). Would recommend.

Once again Kimkim did a fantastic job of ensuring a custom fit journey. My daughter and I absolutely loved Portugal and will be back. We would love to explore Porto and spend more time in the Azores. Joao was so informative and supportive up until even after we returned home. He accommodated us and guided us through the planning. Thank you so much. The people, the food and the culture in Portugal was delightful and made us feel welcomed.

Excellent service! The room was beautiful and the breakfast was amazing. The only thing I did not like was having to leave key at the front desk and that I had to go to front desk to get lock for the safe in the room. Other that than, it is in an excellent location in Lisbon and wonderful boutiquey hotel.

If you like riding on a boat for hours this fun but I didn't feel it was worth that trip. The dolphins were absolutely amazing but we drove another hour or more and saw a whale in distance and then drove over 2 hours back. I think swimming with the dolphins would be on my next itinerary!

This is a must do in order to get the lay of the land in downtown Lisbon. Such a great way to see a city in a short amount of time . Our guide Alicia was fabulous. She was so informative with the history of the country and helpful with tip and restaurant suggestions.

All of the guides did an amazing job. We loved Silvia, her attention to detail and knowledge of the history was beyond what we could have asked for and she has a very special personality, which gives her a unique ability to connect with her clients.

Justine was great to work with. After several changes during the initial planning it was finally time for the trip. There were a few minor hiccups that occurred during the trip however we rolled with it and KimKim did not hesitate in reimbursing us for the inconveniences. Even if slightly disappointed during those speed bumps, the trip will truly be unforgettable. Justine and her team were available immediately and even made some final additions to assure our trip was an amazingly memorable experience. I am not a paid sponsor and so the 5 stars I gave are legitimate to my personal experience. I would highly recommend Justine and KimKim. They can cater a memorable experience to whatever your budget may be. T.

I have previously used Kimkim to organise a tour and I was very pleased with the success of our current private tour of Morocco. Hakim was very responsive to our requests and always provided positive assistance and useful recommendations. Hakim was able to organise activities to meet our special requests for the extra days on our tour.

Our tour took place just after the 2023 earthquake and our itinerary needed to be changed at short notice. Hakim quickly responded to this situation and provided us with suitable alternatives.

Our driver Abdou was with us for the whole trip. Our modern mini-bus comfortably accommodated the 8 of us in our party and was always clean. Abdou is a very good driver and we never had any doubts about his driving skills and wayfinding through the wide range of road conditions on our tour. Abdou was very friendly and willing to help us along our way - stopping at appropriate shops for refreshments as well as banks and supermarkets, etc. when required. There were also the occasional stops along the way when we saw something of interest to our group. He made sure we met the various guides used on our tour on time and met us at the end of our tours if we needed to be driven anywhere. Abdou spoke good English.

The accommodation Hakim organised for us was always clean and in beautiful riads, well-located for the activities we were undertaking. The guides Hakim organised to give us tours along the way were all very professional and some were outstanding.

We loved our drivers, tour guides and most everyone in between. I may not remember all the names and will miss spell a few but ….
Heracles, Georgia, Antonia, Sylvia, Chris, Sebastiani, and the cooking experience (I can’t recall his name), Alex, Agatha, the drivers and baggage handlers on Santorini were unbelievable, the catamaran sailing crew….and especially the driver who backed down the completely jammed up road to the catamaran were all just great. The hotel staff at all of our overnight stays were friendly and helpful. I can’t say enough for all of them and have nothing negative to say. It was a really nice experience.
