Our guide showed up and the first thing he told us was that he wasn’t feeling well. The second day he told us he needed to visit a pharmacy. Half of my family caught whatever he had and ended up sick for the 2nd half of the trip. He mostly drive us from point A to B over several days. At the end I asked Serendipity what an appropriate tip was for our guide (and other than infecting us he was very nice so we wanted to tip him). He was with us for four days. They suggested a range of 20-40-% of the entire seven day trip cost. I would avoid using this service.

We really enjoyed our adventure in Morocco! Hakim, who coordinated our 2-week tour, was a joy to work with! He was so patient, kind, and professional! We also loved our driver Mohammed, which really made our 2-week travels with him a highlight in and of itself! He really looked out for us and listened to our needs. Our group is pretty active and driving from one place to another for hours (3- to 6- hours, depending on our destinations from one point to the next--we covered A LOT of ground) was hard for us to sit in the van all that time. Mohammed accommodated for our needs to break up the trip with some stops for walking, multiple bathroom breaks, etc.) Also, when we got a tad tired of heavy lunches en route to our destinations, he happily complied with our request for us to pick up picnic food and items at local supermarkets, so that we can have lunch picnic stops! We LOVED that!

On the whole we we pleased with the majority of the local tour guides in the cities, villages we visited. The tour guide we had in Fez, our group found, was our least favorite as he wasn't good at listening to our needs and schedule as the others.
Our highlights were:
-Chefchaouen, the Blue City, as it's very scenic and easy to get around. Our lodging at Dar Jasmine there was lovely! (Note: the location is not for the cumbered walker because to get to the lobby entrance and rooms, you have to climb 165 steps!)
- Our local souk to learn about the ingredients for making Tagine and our cooking class in Fez hosted was a huge highlight for us all!
- Miknes, as Rashid was a very knowledgeable guide there. A spacious city/town that was a welcome respite from the hubbub of Fez
- The Sahara Desert...loved the sunset camel ride and the luxury tent accommodations and food were wonderful
- In Marrakech, sampling food and winding streets, stalls & historic buildings in the Medina with our food tour guide Hanyn was fantastic!

Of all the tour guides we had for our 2-week Moroccan tour, our group found the local guide in Fes to be disappointing. He informed us that he's been giving Fes tours for over 20 years, and that was apparent, as he seemed to be on auto-pilot, and wasn't sensitive to our group's schedule and interests. We felt like we were rushing through areas that were of particular interest to us, but not so much to him. His jokes/humor rubbed the female members of the group the wrong way,

- Hotel in Palenque: bad experience. Bad food poisoning from hotel restaurant, noone in pace speaks any englis, beds uncomfortable, ...
- R Barrios waterfalls: skip. Waterfals are ok but can do in 1 hour, but tour drops you there for 3 hours with only 1 small bar to sit after that even wants to charge you for wifi
- Ek Balam Cenote: cenote is very good, but the included lunch is terrible. Better book without the lunch

Our trip to Jordan and Egypt, organized by kimkim, was excellent. All accommodations were great, with special mentions for Harir Palace Amman Hotel and Kempinski Nile Hotel in Cairo. Our driver in Jordan, Rashid, was punctual and safe, and the guides in Jerash and Cairo were knowledgeable and friendly. The desert tour in Wadi Rum was a unique experience, and our guide there made it even more enjoyable.

Visiting the pyramids and museums in Cairo was a highlight, particularly the Egyptian Civilization Museum. Our guide, Khaled, made the visits even more enjoyable. The sightseeing in Aswan was also amazing, with a visit to the Nubian village by boat being a standout experience. Our guide, Abraham, added a lot of value to our experiences in Aswan.

The Movenpick Sunray Nile Cruise was luxurious and the food was fabulous, with the staff going out of their way to accommodate my vegetarian diet!

Tamer Obeid (from Responsible Travel) was so helpful in organising a wonderful tailored Galapagos experience, and he ensured the trip went smoothly along the way, including assisting with last minute requests like getting us a scuba dive at Kicker Rock (which was a major highlight). The local guides and drivers organised by Tamer were all professional, knowledgeable and great company, and the hotels were very comfortable and well-located. We didn't really have to think about anything as it was all perfectly organised and and we could just focus on enjoying the amazing wildlife, spectacular landscapes, and unique culture of these amazing islands. I recently finished The Trip of A Lifetime. It could not have gone any better!
It began with an Orientation Call from Jonathan . He explained how traveling and planning with KIMKIM works, asked questions regarding things I did and didn’t want to do, other personalization goals and budget.
I soon heard from my personal agent, Jane. We had great text conversations. Jane was patient with my endless questions and concerns; I was traveling alone for the first time, my first time international, and my first plane ride in nearly 20 years.
I proudly labeled myself as the anti-tourist, lol. I didn’t want to go near any trite locations that many tourists flock to just because everyone else does.
I wanted Ancient History, I wanted Ancient Religions, I wanted Archeology. Don’t send me to churches, don’t send me to rote performances. I wanted my own desires, not be a stereotype American Tourist.

Jane went to work straight away.

I had one location and specific dates that were mandatory: The British National Dressage Championship, September 14-17. I didn’t care when I went to nor left the UK. Everything built around that event.

Jane would send me ideas, questions, clarifications and I would send her ideas, questions, locations that looked to hold/meet my desires.
Jane was quick to learn me and my tastes, I’m an “odd bird”, lol, and very much an anti-tourist with different goals and expectations.
We clicked very well and spent six months planning my trip.

This was a TRUE bucket list trip.
I have an incurable blood cancer. It is dormant, yet it can become active at any time. This was my one and only time to physically navigate such a trip. I had been tested and scanned and was given the ok by my doctor to make this trip.

I had given Jane a rundown of my medical conditions and the limitations they impose on my strength, stamina, functions, etc..
She seamlessly worked assistance and help into every movement, hotel, travel and train.

The end result was a magnificent trip! Eleven cities in 30 days. Plus two days, one each way, of long distance travel.
I was supported, pampered and celebrated everywhere I went.
Jane, and her co-worker Flore were with me daily while I was actively traveling. We texted at least twice a day and I reported in daily to keep Jane and Flore apprised of my health(cancer).
They were on top of everything behind the scenes as well - there was a particular chain of hotels that my body found uncomfortable. Jane found an alternative option and we made the change. Flore discovered there was going to be a Train Strike that was going to impact my plans, so they found out more, made plan changes, asked me if I wanted to go with the pivot and we pivoted. Seamlessly. The whole trip was that simple; they handled every little detail and it put NO stress on me.
Jane, and Flore, also went above and beyond!
In one city I got digestively sick. I let Jane know I was cancelling an outing bc I was just too sick to leave the hotel. She checked in with me a number of times. There was once when I didn’t reply back in my normally swift manner, so Jane called the Reception/front desk and ask them to come to my room and check on me. Awww.
I wanted Ancient History - I got Roman, Celt, Pict, and more. I wanted Ancient Religion - Jane found a very Ancient Druid Worship site that dated back to 4,000 bc.
Yes. You read that correctly. That site was approximately 6,023 years only when I experienced it. It doesn’t get much older than that!
More Ancient History: I got to spend one night in a Castle, turned boutique hotel, built in 1380 ad.
Ancient archeology - one location had an active archeological dig site going on!
I even got to experience an archeological find I had seen discovered on The tv show called Time Team. All I knew of the day was I would be having a Private Guided Tour of an Ancient Roman city.
It was in the car ride over that the guides and I realized the destination was That One. I was fan-girling the entire drive over and the hours we were there. Other than a group of school children, I had the whole location to myself. BLISS. One of the guides even carried my phone and took candids as I walked along with the other guide. It turned out, as we said our goodbyes at my hotel, that they really enjoyed the day as well. They loved that I was so engaged, knew so many (few, really ) things, and wanted to learn so very much more.
And just how did it come about that I had such a glorious day? Jane. Jane found it - based on her knowledge of the UK and her knowledge about me.
I saw so many exciting things and places in 30 days, this day still shines brighter than the rest.
So
If you are of a mind to travel, KIMKIM is the only way to go.
Jane, and Flore, took my ideas and wants and needs, plugged in my sizable budget (see True Bucket List) and aligned them together for a breathtakingly beautiful and fantasmagorical experience.

If I get to travel again, no matter the destination, I will always and only plan via KIMKIM.

Cruise across the Loch Ness including a Visit to Urquhart Castle

Well, when this close to Loch Ness, you really must go for your trip to be complete, eh? It was a nice, though cold, ride over calm waters and properly narrated by the Captain. Once there, the Castle Ruin is lackluster. Though fully paved, the walkway is nothing BUT steep. I skipped walking the (very small) ruin and instead began the LONG STEEP walkway to the face/shop. I enjoyed the variety and bought some very functional cashmere socks and a very warm hat, both served me well during the remaining weeks of my trip. HOWEVER There is an EVEN STEEPER AND LONGER ascent to climb up to the parking lot and our tour bus. It was beyond exhausting, even for the Healthy people in our group. Yet, I’d have regretted not going - you only get one chance to be there.

I had a wonderful time during my trip to Argentina. The trip was customized to meet our specific needs, and I had an unforgettable experience. Despite my concerns about transportation to and from the local airports, our guides were always punctual and provided us with a pleasant ride while also sharing the history of the city.

Even when we decided to add an excursion to the trip, the receptionist at our hotel in El Calafate arranged for a driver who not only provided transportation but also told us interesting stories along the way.

The hotels booked by the KimKim agency were satisfactory, with the best being in Buenos Aires and the least enjoyable being in Puerto Madryn. Although the staff was nice, the rooms were not soundproof, and the breakfast options were very limited.

Our excursions were well-organized, and the guides were professional at all times. Among the experiences that I enjoyed the most were the day trip to Valdes Peninsula with Marcela and the visit to the glaciers with Pablo.

The only issue that I had with the trip was related to our return to Buenos Aires from El Calafate. We had requested a change to our itinerary, and Philippe, who was in charge of our booking, assured us that everything had been arranged. However, on the travel day, we discovered that no pick-up had been arranged, and there was no driver to take us to the airport the following day. When we contacted Philippe, he informed us that the transfer was not included in the change we made to our itinerary. I found this unprofessional, as Philippe should have known that we had no other means of transportation. He could have informed us that the transfer was not included and given us the option to add it. Fortunately, we were able to book a taxi at a reasonable price, and everything went smoothly.

In general, I am extremely pleased with my trip and I had an amazing experience. My communication with local guides Anna and Philippe was both enjoyable and efficient. Argentina is a magnificent country with friendly locals and exceptional cuisine! I hope to visit again someday!

El Calafate, Santa Cruz

Although the hotel and the room were relatively small, I found them charming. The place had a unique style, and I could tell that the staff wanted their guests to feel welcome. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast every day, accompanied by cozy music, and the receptionists were always accommodating with anything we needed. They also spoke English very well. The only downside of this hotel is its location. Although it's near the lake, it's a 20-minute walk to the city, which wouldn't be a problem if the walk didn't involve walking among many stray dogs and unfinished streets. This might not be an issue for someone who is not afraid of dogs, but I did not enjoy El Calafate as a city because of that.

It's a solid, clean hotel. The room was okay. We were allowed to move the beds as we wanted, which was nice considering the beds were separate and we were a couple. Unfortunately, there was no gym in the hotel and not many protein or savory options for breakfast. Additionally, the internet was not great.

Even though the staff was friendly, the hotel is old and lacks soundproofing. Furthermore, while they advertised a gym, it was a room used for laundry and storage. The windows were also quite dirty, which made them difficult to open. Despite these issues, the room itself was kept clean. Breakfast was three types of cookies, nothing else.

This is a wonderful hotel with luxurious rooms and amazing staff! I especially appreciated their breakfast, which included both savory and sweet options. Additionally, the hotel offered a gym and pool for interested guests. Even on our last day, they allowed us to use the gym and even provided us with a "gym service," which I found particularly nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Day at Leisure in El Calafate

The city was relatively small, and unfortunately, many stray dogs roamed around, making leisure time less enjoyable. However, there were some exciting activities to try. For instance, I had the opportunity to taste llama guanaco meat, which I think is worth trying. Additionally, a bird-watching tour lasted only two hours and provided a nice walk. However, it might become boring if you're not a bird-watching fan. There was also a history museum, which I found pretty nice.

During your trip, you will travel by car for an hour to reach a camp. From there, you will hike for approximately 4 hours. Although there are some long flat parts during the hike, the beautiful landscape makes up for it. The hike was not very demanding, and our guide, Gabriel, took us through alternative routes, which made the day more adventurous. The lake is breathtaking, and we had our lunch box beside it. The sandwiches were huge, so you don't have to worry about being hungry! We were very happy with the guides, the scenery, and the hike overall. It is definitely something worth experiencing!

Unfortunately, we were unable to carry out our original plan due to a bird flu outbreak at the time. Instead, we opted for an underwater baptism, which involved a one-hour boat ride and a 15-minute underwater experience with an instructor. Although it was a nice experience, we were still saddened by the fact that we couldn't have the original experience.

We had an amazing day with our guide Marcela. She picked us up from the hotel in the morning and took us to an animal paradise. During the day, we saw many llamas, drove to see elephant seals, had a delightful lunch at a sheep farm, and visited penguins and whales. Marcela was very knowledgeable and shared interesting facts about all the animals, making it a personal and enjoyable experience. She even let us spend more time with the penguins than planned. After that, she took us on a boat ride to see whales, where we spent two hours with another guide, also named Marcela. Her love for whales was admirable, and she shared many fascinating facts about them. This entire day was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We went on a nice city stroll with Florencia as our guide. She showed us the best pizza and empanadas in town and recommended many places where we could have dinner later. We also learned about the history of the city, although it could have been a bit more detailed. All in all, it was a great first day!

This was our 2nd trip booked with KimKim. We expected the best experience and we indeed received it. Samir, our driver provided exceptional service taking us safely and showing planned stops as we traveled through the county. We were never rushed from our sightseeing excursions. He cleaned the car daily and smelled good. The car was very comfortable.
Said and Hamza - the travel agent checked often to ensure that things were going well and addressed if any items needed to be. All the local guides were very knowledgeable and pleasant, Learned a lot about history. Overall, it was a fantastic trip and everything went as planned. I highly recommend Kimkim and its local affiliated travel in Morocco.

Great Guides Wilson in the City lost and Martha in El Cocuy

This was our first experience using KimKim.com for travel arrangements. The process was extremely simple with great communication with Mathilde. We gave Mathilde dates and the key destination of St Malo we wished to visit, and she created a fabulous trip allowing us to experience Western France and Paris.
Starting in Tours on our way to St Malo she booked a fabulous dinner at Casse-Caillox and an unexpected gem with a visit to Chateau de Chenonceau.
The hotel booking in St Malo allowed us to be close but not in the tight quarters of the walled city. It was also adjacent to the wall allowing for views as the tide receded and the expansive beach was revealed.
The train ride to Paris put us in the center of town, making it simple to get to the hotel that was, once again, in a great location for the excursions she planned for us to the Eiffel tower and Versailles.
We are already looking forward to our next trip to Europe with Mathilde's help.

Everything and all the planned events in Portugal we’re amazing. We enjoyed 3 days in Porto, and 4 in Lisbon where everything went as planned without any hitch. The walking tours gave us private and personal history and highlights of each city, the wine tour of Douro Vally was breathtaking, the food tours, cooking class, boat rides, prompt and friendly guides and drivers, clean and very well located hotels, all added to our enjoyment and feeling of security. The food and friendly people all made it extra special. We would be happy to recommend the Kimkim team for this type of tour and a special thanks to Karenina Steinbeck! Met our expectations and much more.

Kien provided an initial schedule for our family trip to Thailand which we adapted to include some other points of interest. After we set the schedule I was prepared to underwhelmed due to the logistics nightmare that I thought we had created.
From our arrival in Bangkok, where we were met at the jetway by a golf cart that whisked us through customs, to the remote aerie house overlooking the ocean with its infinity pool where we spent our final few days, everything was spectacularly coordinated.
Great accommodations, wonderful guides (Annie in Bangkok, and Noe in Chang Mai), safe and courteous drivers with their spacious and luxurious vans.
We took four internal flights over our 2.5 weeks, multiple ferry or long boat trips....there is no way we could have done this with no stress, but with Kiens expert connections it was a trip of a lifetime for our family. One could purchase our vacation cheaper by doing it ourselves, but that comes with all the stress, language barriers, logistics, it just isn't worth it......just call Kien at Kim Kim

Tucked away in a side street in Old Town, Chang Mai this hotel epitomizes comfort. The staff is very attentive and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable. The breakfast offers a wide selection of western and Asian options. There was a nice touch of free neck and shoulder massages being offered each afternoon for a few hours.

Hong Islands Discovery with Snorkeling by Private Premium Long-tail Boat

An opportunity to visit some of the islands within the national park. Jump off the long tailed boat and relax on the white sand beaches. Climb the 450 steps up to a lookout where one gets a wonderful view of the islands from above. On to another very small island where our guide cooked up a lovely lunch on the beach. Then off to monkey island where we were able to tempt some of these monkeys to swim (yes.... swim) out to our boat to feed on fresh fruit we fed them.

A remote paradise. After jumping on the "hotel provided" long boat one waves through spectacular waterways, ending up at this lovely private get away in the middle of nowhere. Greeted by friendly staff one is invited to relax and decompress. Cool off by diving from your rooms deck, or take your assigned kayak for an explore around the quiet waters. One can take a sunset cruise in their long boat and see some of the nearby waterways.

Half Day - Half Night Hike at Khao Sok National Park

Our guide, Man, used to live in the jungle and has an amazing ability to know where various species would be. We were fortunate enough to see monkeys, snakes, tarantulas, a plethora of spiders and other creepy crawlers. once we got to the half way point Man cut down some large bamboo proceeded to fashion some plates and cups, and went to work making a delicious curry dinner all cooked inside some bamboo, over a fire. While Man was cooking we took advantage of jumping in the nearby river to cool down. On the return trip to the hotel night had fallen; however, with the powerful LED lights provided, it was easy to pick up the reflection in the eyes of various creatures in the jungle canopy.

Lynn met us at the local market, which is an experience in itself, where she/we purchased the products for the meals that we would be making. Then we went off to her house which had a kitchen area set up with multiple cooking stations. Lynn talked us through the cooking process which entailed making predominately local delicacies. Unfortunately for us westerners this included offal , water buffalo blood, and other "delicacies" us westerners are not used to.....but we gave it all a try.

The whole trip was seamlessly organised and executed. It allowed us to efficiently visit most of the country in a relatively short period of time. Edy was an outstanding guide, through his passion, patience and flexibility.

My husband worked with Kimkim to create a special birthday trip for me to Galapagos islands for 9 days. Having never travelled to South America and not speaking the language, we were a little nervous at first. But with Kimkim's Ecuador specialists Nick and Tamer in charge, the trip went absolutely smooth. Truly amazing!

Before deciding on the trip, kimkim had us fill out a form that gave them the information they needed to coordinate outings, hotels, and dinners according to our likes and personalities. My husband and I wanted a trip filled with activities and they delivered. Our first day on the island took us to the Darwin research center in Santa Cruz with our guide Stephan, who was also our guide to a coffee farm in the highlands, hiking thru a lava tunnel, hanging out with lots of tortoises, and most importantly, planting 2 trees as a gesture toward off-setting our carbon footprint traveling there. Just a gesture, but says a lot about this company's philosophy toward travel. Our 2nd day on the island we took a boat ride to Bartolome, an uninhabited island and hiked to a look out. Our guide was wonderful on this trip and the crew cooked an amazing lunch of fresh fish, potatoes, vegetables, and dessert. The seafood throughout the trip was a highlight, especially the fresh-caught grilled lobster and octopus fixed so many different ways. All was so delicious!

We spent 2 days in Santa Cruz, then off to Isabella island for 4 more days of snorkeling, hiking to the sierra negra volcano, and more. Our hotel here was incredible and truly perfect. One of the things we were looking for was a low-key environment for 2 introverts (us), and Kim Kim couldn't have found a better spot! Our room was in a lovely boutique hotel right on the beach. The staff and our bartender, Daniel, were so friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed having dinner on the pier, looking out at the sea lions body-surfing while we dined in the open air. So amazing!

Like I said, we are active people and not ones to sit around. Probably a favorite outing was the Los Tunelos trip. We took a boat ride out to the "tunnels" where we hiked on the island, learned about the birds, sea-life, plants, and everything else amazing about this place. We finished with snorkeling where we swam with lots and lots of sea turtles, I started to think I was going to bump into one by accident. Also swam with sharks, sea-lions, and lots of fish! Snorkeling was the way to do this, no need to dive since all of the marine life was in the shallows. We also really enjoyed our bike ride with Julio on isabella. It was just us two and Julio and some rented (kinda rusty) mountain bikes. We hike through more lava tunnels and bike through the country side, ending with a hike up to an overlook where we were treated to a Galapagos hawk just a few feet away. It was a once in a life-time experience!

Overall, the guides were so kind and knowledgeable. Almost all of the Galapagos are national park and all guides are required complete government training in order to work as a guide. Visitors are also required to be with a guide for a majority of the outings. We were always learning about the ecosystem and never stopped being amazed at the immense knowledge our guides had. I wish the U.S. would implement a system like this in our National Parks!

Every minute of this trip was perfect. Thank you Kimkim, you have outdone yourself with attention to detail, prompt replies to questions, and making sure every last detail was taken care of. We plan to use Kimkim again for our next trip to South America (or elsewhere) .

Our whole trip to the Philippines was absolutely amazing and perfect from start to finish. We give a lot of credit to our specialist Cami, and the rest of her team members for making our trip so memorable.

When travelling to a foreign country halfway across the world, it can be quite intimidating when you don't know how to get around and you don't know anyone. From the moment we landed in Manila on our first day to the moment we left Manila on our last day, "someone" always knew where we were, whether it be our trip contact Ana or the actual hotels themselves. For us, one of the best aspects of the vacation is that transportation to and from the airport was always arranged for us, so that we were not left scrambling or searching on our own for transportation -- this reduced a lot of stress for us. So Kudos to Cami and her team for helping us with the transportation!

The activities and excursions were amazing. In a nutshell, the beaches and waters of the Philippines are beautiful. Everything is perfect -- whether it be the white sand, clear waters, or beautiful coral. Adding to our wonderful experience would be our wonderful tour guides. Special shout-out to Jhonas in Coron for a super wonderful experience. Jhonas is photographer, guide, diver, and excellent chef all in one! He took us to some wonderful places and made us some wonderful food, including arranging a boodle fight for us.

Hotels are excellent. All 4-star or higher. Comfortable rooms, excellent service.

Overall, our experience was nothing short of perfect. As mentioned earlier, having a wonderful travel specialist plan your vacation makes things even better - and we thank Cami and her team for being that perfect travel team. Their attention to detail was outstanding; they left no stone unturned and they left nothing to chance/uncertainty.

We've already said that we are going back in the future, and we look forward to reaching out to Cami again to help plan our next trip to the Philippines.

I planned a trip to various places in Argentina and it took some very good coordination from Emilce (and Kim kim) to pull this off. I want to say everything went PERFECT, there were no delays, their drivers and people were always there on time and so willing to help. This truly was a trip of a life time and it was so rewarding to feel they had everything under control.
They were very patient and kind during our planning phase and they showed grace as we where trying to fund the payments.
