At very short notice Margarita helped me plan an unforgettable intensive one week trip with key highlights including a street-art tour in Bogotá, hiking in the Cocora Valley, immersion in the coffee production process, and a guided visit to Comuna 13 in Medellín. The travel arrangements, local guides and drivers were all excellent. I would definitely recommend Margarita and her team.

The knowledge, helpfulness, responsiveness and flexibility the team showed was extraordinary. We had to reschedule and redesign our trip a year late. At the last minute we made changes due to a sick member of our group. They took it all in stride. Highly recommend.

On a previous trip, we had a great experience with kimkim, but our Italy trip was frustrating. Ariana was a high pressure sales person pushing us to book now or nothing will be available. I booked and then realized that we were being grossly overcharged for the trip. I complained and we received a partial refund. Even with the refund, the value of the trip was less than what I would have expected for what we paid.

In the planning process, I inquired about using points to book our hotel rooms and was told this would not be a problem and I booked our Sorrento hotel with points. I later inquired about doing the same for Naples and was told it would not be possible and they usually don’t allow this at all.

Our trip to Pompeii and Vesuvius was originally planned to be a small group boat tour with wine tasting and lunch included. 2-3 weeks after booking the trip, Arianna told us the boat trip was sold out. We were booked on a large tour buss, no lunch, no guide at Vesuvius. I would have never signed up for a large group tour.

While we had transfers booked to/from airport, train, ferry. Our tours did not include pickup/drop off at the hotel. This was a surprise and disappointment.

When we arrived at the exterior door for this hotel my heart sank. The rusty and graffiti covered entrance to the palazzo is not inviting and looks like the hotel should be a dump. Fortunately the hotel itself is charming, spacious, and clean.

We had a great trip. Saw lots of beautiful scenery and enjoyed the planned activities, the fjord sauna in Flom being a highlight for our family - jumping off the sauna into the fjord and warming up again in our private sauna was a real treat. Kirsta did a great job planning this and she and her team were helpful and very responsive with questions along the way.

My one complaint was the way KimKim addresses the pricing of the trip. There was no itemization, so it was hard to figure out how much the trip cost vs. the added cost of the service provided by KimKim. It was a very expensive trip, and I think if I had been able to plan it myself, I could have saved about half the cost (though, again, it is difficult to confirm that since I did not receive any itemization).

We had a wonderful experience with our trip to Cairo. It was relatively last minute, and Amr was great in working with us to make sure that we saw what we wanted within our budget. On the ground in Cairo, Mohammed was wonderful with helping us with our arrival and departure from the airport, including making sure that our visas were all handled properly and quickly. Mina also greeted us upon arrival to ensure that we made it safely into to city and to our airport.

The majority of our time was spend with our wonderful driver, Hassan, and our wonderful guide, Hagar. Both were always extremely punctual. We don't know what we would have done with Hassan getting us around as we would not have been up for driving! He made our trip very safe and comfortable. Hagar was an incredible source of information on Egyptian history and culture, and she was a pleasure to spend time with in general. She was very attentive to our needs and requests (for example, she adapted our original itinerary so that we could visit the Khan El-khalili Bzaar, which was not part of the original plan), she always anticipated our wanting water, coffees, snacks, etc., and she always made sure to ask that we were seeing everything that we wanted and getting all of the information that we were curious about and more.

We were in Cairo for such a short visit that we will definitely need to return, and we would hope to work with the same group again.

We had an incredible trip organised by Trang. From our first interactions she responded quickly to all communication, answering questions, making suggestions & changes to itineraries.
Our three guides, Nhan, My & Da Lat we're great, really friendly, helpful & very knowledgeable. They ensured everything ran smoothly, recommended restaurants and really ensured our trip was enjoyable. They were so interesting to talk to about Vietnam, its history & life today.
We enjoyed all the places we visited, although we were disappointed with the floating market, more tourists than anything else!
Vietnam is an incredible country & we would definitely go back. We would definitely use Kim Kim & Asia Adventure again.

Everything went great. It was so well organized. Easy access to all of our confirmation numbers and passes for the planned activities. The recommended activities were all amazing. The weather prevented our helicopter experience in Ålesund which was unfortunate, but the team was great in getting us a refund. The same with switching hotels. We are so grateful for the help planning. It saved us a bunch of time upfront and gave is peace of mind throughout the trip.

Here are a few thoughts on our trip.
Overall the trip was well thought out and paced. Our dealings with Nick were professional and he imparted his local knowledge of the area to us very well.
Just some things of note:

Kuching - A Ranee Boutique suites - great location, room and attention to detail. The breakfast of Nasi Lamak was beautiful presented in a atmospheric space.

Saloma’s Homestay - a wonderful introduction to life in Sarawak. Family life, cuisine simple country space but with a true understanding of what travelers require eg drinking water dispenser.

Mukah - Kingwood hotel adequate, Lamina Dana….. Felix, was an enthusiastic guide loved the tours, boat trip, museum and walking around the village. A little strange going backwards and forwards to and from the hotel to the village for meals. Dining in a very large space with just ourselves eating and the staff looking on. We would have preferred staff joining us.
Very warm and friendly people.

Miri - informative and helpful drivers, hotel well located.

Mulu- activities and cave experiences excellent both days, homestay very basic, pleasant hosts. Would have liked them to provide drinking water rather than selling us plastic bottles which wasn’t very eco friendly.

Kiulu - picked up by driver and guide, lovely farm stay and environment but it was a long day travelling - an earlier departure from Mulu would have been preferred. Very well appointed bamboo house, wonderful warm village people who shared their life and family very generously. Meals were a highlight, well presented and varied.

Kinabatangan - river cruises and wildlife experiences were excellent - boatman / guide was exemplary and knowledgeable. Downside , food atrocious (often inedible) staff totally disinterested and the whole property rundown and requiring a thorough clean and maintenance. We strongly recommend an alternative in the area.

Sepilok - very nice accommodation staff extremely obliging and friendly, great location. Downside again no drinking water freely available, forced to buy plastic bottles of water.

Overall the tip lived up to our expectations…. Well done Nick.

Great trip and our guide was lovely. The amount of time devoted to the waterfall was quite long (2 hours) for just a quick viewing and walk. Perhaps that amount of time would be good if you took advantage of the swimming. We learned a lot about the coffee plantation and saw out guide's family home, which was delightful and inspiring. I would suggest that guests know that the tour was not during harvest time so mostly hearing the background and seeing the machinery.

The trip was amazing. I would have given 5 stars all around, except that a couple of hotels were not what i had expected.
I have to say, Luise was very responsive and at our request moved us to a more suitable hotel, and even covered some of the cost. Luise and his team were always only a text or call away. At times, the situation was a bit stressful and I was not pleased with the interactions, but overall I would highly recommend him. I think we you really want to see Spain off the beaten path, he is the man to go with.

From moment of first contact through the end of our fantastic Iceland journey, Elisa provided thorough and helpful guidance. Most important, she was a thoughtful, kind, and pleasant partner. Highest marks possible to Elisa and kimkim.

Having worked with Tasos and his group once before, we were not at all surprised to have had such a memorable and wonderful trip to Italy. Everything was perfection!!The single thing we have to complain about, which was totally out of their control, was the heat! It was 106 in Rome on the day we visited the Colosseum and walked another six or 7 miles around the city! And the rest of the week the temps stayed in the high 90’s but it didn’t stop us. The hotels, both in Rome and Naples, were amazing and so perfectly located. Each restaurant that he recommended was better than the last. Our guides were outstanding, especially Dario, our guide around the Vatican, and Mima who made Pompei come alive. Can’t say enough about how wonderful the total experience was!

There was a bit of confusion initially, as we had reserved three identical rooms close to each other. One of the rooms was not the same as the other two, and not as nicely appointed, and they were all on different floors but they all had beautiful sea views, however. And the location was just perfect, right on the Seaport, and close to lots of restaurants and bars.

Aside from being in the perfect location – right on the Piazza Navona – the hotel was amazing. The rooms were beautiful and big, and very beautifully furnished, and the view from our windows looked right down onto the Piazza and the obelisk and fountains. The staff were very accommodating, the breakfast buffet was delicious and the views from the rooftop bar and restaurant or spectacular. We would recommend this hotel highly.

Honestly, this was the best way to holiday! When we first researched Croatia we had no idea where to start! There are so many possibilities, things to do and ways to get to all the islands that I felt overwhelmed! I stumbled across KimKim and our local specialist Robi was assigned to us. I told him our budget, our needs, the time we had available etc. From there he sent through a first draft itenarary and communicated thoroughly all the options available to us. We spent a few weeks going back and forth and tweaking , changing and adding to our itenarary. It was a fantastic experience all around.
Planning the trip was easy with simply stating our interests and Emanuela assembled and booked the itinerary. We had plenty of input during the trip planning to make sure everything we wanted was included.
The trip summary and itinerary was well organized with sightseeing suggestions, food choices and reservation details. Each day had it's own plan with driving details through Google maps.
During the trip Emanuela was available via WhatsApp for any urgent questions or issues. She was very helpful and made our trip a lasting memory.
We will definitely be back and booking with her again!

Our trip to Panama was amazing. Reyna did a spectacular job working with us to plan our itinerary and fun, exciting, informative outings. We learned a lot about Panama's history (and how it is linked to CA history), were immersed in incredibly beautiful rainforests, mountains, and beaches, saw SO many animals and plants in their natural habitats, and ate some delicious food. Reyna also was very responsive during our trip to help with a couple of small bumps we hit along the way and shift our agenda when we found something else we wanted to do :). I would not hesitate to plan another trip to Panama or any trip Reyna recommends!

Palmar beach lodge

The Palmar was a very nice hotel and the only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is personal preference. Our room was very comfortable (A/C was critical to cool down once or twice a day), staff very friendly and helpful, RIGHT ON THE BEACH. The restaurant and bar were very nice and we enjoyed the variety for a week without tiring of the menu. The only drawback of this hotel (for us) is that some nights can be a little more of a party atmosphere - nothing too big and certainly not loud enough to keep us awake. I probably would have loved this in my 20s....

It could have been the timing of the particular tour we took, but we were a little disappointed with this tour. We shifted the time to 4pm to try and avoid the hottest part of the day. We did not get to do the chocolate tasting that our son was looking forward to b/c of the day it was scheduled for, and we were only able to see the interior of one church in town (and not the one directly across from the hotel). We also weren't even aware that the Presidential Palace was in the area until our driver the next day mentioned it while we were leaving town. My guess is we only experienced a portion of what this tour should have been... and again, this could have been b/c of the shifted time. It was a little disappointing b/c those were our surroundings during our stay and I would have liked to learn more about it. What we did see and learn about was very interesting. But there was not really any discussion about the current political environment around some of the changes the area has undergone to revitalize tourism (eg; we saw some signs on our own that locals were trying to resist gentrification - would have liked to learn more about how the will of the locals is balanced with tourism).

Canal Rainforest Boat experience

Loved this tour - what an amazing place. If we could put videos below, I'd add the 3 species of monkeys we saw up close. We also saw a crocodile, numerous bird species, iguanas, and turtles. Our boat driver knew where to find certain animals and being on the lake with the big ships nearby was surreal. Also, being in the shade on the boat kept things a little cooler and more comfortable in the heat.

I think this was one of my favorite days of the entire trip. Our guide Jose was very knowledgable about the rainforest plants and animals, as well as the fort at San Lorenzo. The drive to the fort and the walk down there road were spectacular - we saw so many animals and really got to quietly observe and have branches dropped on us by howler monkeys! The views were beautiful, and even though the workings of the Canal Locks was not my primary interest of this outing, I found them fascinating and am very happy we were able to watch a huge container ship going through the lock system.

We had the most remarkable trip to Italy with Kim Kim team Jessica, Arianna and Barbara. Our booking was easy, itinerary was well organized and coordinated perfectly. Transfers were on time and done with a high class vehicles. We always felt safe, well taken care of with a very friendly and knowledgeable team. There was free time for us to see some essential sites independently, and there was guidance on how to use the free time we had. Ladies , you did a fabulous job. We appreciate all of your hard work. Moonika was fantastic! She put together the perfect itinerary for us and we had the BEST Finland trip. All our excursions were super and loved all our guides. Phillipe on the bike and sauna tour was warm and friendly and very knowledgable. Our walking tour guide in Turku made it our favorite city, Joosi, Aku, and Juana from our canoe and backpacking excursion were so much fun. All our transportation was smooth with great drivers. Also loved the overnight train ride.
I will definitely be using Kim Kim again. This was the easiest and smoothest overseas trip I've taken. Loved all our hotels and the attention to detail. Having everything put together with transportation makes a huge difference. Moonika was even available to answer questions during our trip. Couldn't have asked for better. Thanks Moonika!
