Very poor experience at 500 Rai Floating Resort. One a scale of 1:10, with 1 representing a "flea bag motel" and 10 representing a "luxury resort", I would rate it as a 2. The staff was very nice (Thai people are exceptionally lovely and kind people, in general, and the staff at the resort was no different), but the quality of the resort just sucks. We stayed in "Deluxe Family villa," which was dirty and rickety, as well as detached from the rest of the resort, which meant we needed to call a barge every time we wanted to leave. There was no refrigeration or ice in the room, so no cold water, no basic amenities (such as a hair dryer), there was one kayak assigned to the room (even though there were four of us staying, including 2 x teenage boys). The beds were old and lumpy. The shower was broken (for the first hour, we had a tech in the room fixing a showerhead that we spraying water straight upward). It was lousy. Biggest annoyance: The resort allows for one hour/day of complimentary wi-fi for each guest. While I appreciate that the resort fancies itself on being a nature-focused getaway, the remoteness of the area results in significant downtime.....for which, naturally, guests would like an opportunity to research the web, upload photos, email friends, etc. Of course, the resort offered an "all day" package....for $45 USD per person. For a family of 4 (including 2 x teenagers), we would have been charged $200/day for our family to have access to WifI. You simply don't expect this kind of blatant, cheap upsell tactic from a high-end resort. The food at the resort was also atrocious. Thai cuisine is famously good (and we enjoyed tremendous meals in everywhere else in Thailand), but the food at 500 Rai was cafeteria-caliber slop. They obviously struggle with getting ingredients to the resort (given the remote location, I'm sure) but, again, for high-priced accommodation, you expect decent chow. For breakfast, I ordered a "croissant with fresh fruit plate" - I received a cold croissant (straight from the fridge) with no side of butter (or jam), along with 2 x cubed fruit pieces (literally a chunk of watermelon and a bit of pear). It was laughably bad.....yet very indicative of the standard of 500 Rai. The resort is obviously capitalizing on the nature beauty of the park. It only exists because of it. But they are taking advantage of it, assuming that guest will be so dazzled by the natural surrounding that they will overlook the substandard quality of the resort. But, candidly, the shoddy standard of the resort detracted from the overall experience. I left feeling that they are the ones who are taking the beautiful park for granted. Do not waste your time or money on 500 Rai.

The Galmont Hotel & Spa had a fabulous location and was great for our itinerary in Galway. However, it was quite loud at night due to a live music pub nearby. Though we couldn't enjoy the pub since my son was underage, we could hear the music just fine in our room. Despite the noise, the hotel itself was decent, and the staff were very accommodating.

The Ashling Hotel Dublin was our top pick during the trip. Its location was outstanding, being near a major transportation hub which was perfect for our travel needs. The breakfast was great, the beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the staff was very welcoming and attentive. Overall, we had a fantastic experience here.

Exploring Achill Island was an unexpected delight! I didn't know much about it beforehand, but it quickly became one of our favorites. The island's beauty was breathtaking, and I wish we had more time to spend there. It's a spot I'd highly recommend to anyone visiting that area.

This was the most memorable hotel of our trip, largely thanks to the incredible breakfast buffet overlooking the Amalfi Coast—it was absolutely stunning. The breakfast itself was extraordinary, featuring some of the best pastries we had during our stay in Italy. The room was simple but comfortable: two rooms, each with a queen-size bed, and one shared bathroom. Both rooms opened onto a beautiful terrace with breathtaking views of the coast. On our final night, we even had a front-row seat to a fireworks display from our terrace—an unforgettable experience. We especially want to thank the breakfast and dinner staff, who made us feel so welcome during our 4-day stay. Their warmth and hospitality truly stood out. A special shout-out to our favourite server, who not only provided excellent service but also shared great local tips—including recommending his favourite cake, Peccato di Gola, from Sal De Riso in Minori. It was absolutely worth the trip!

Initially, we weren’t sure about this location, but it turned out to be a great choice. It was within walking distance to both the Vatican and Trastevere, which made exploring very easy. The room was the largest of our trip, with a master bedroom and ensuite, two additional bedrooms and a bathroom for the kids, plus a small kitchen. We especially appreciated the large fridge and freezer for storing snacks and drinks. Breakfast on the 7th floor had a huge variety of options, and everyone in the family found something they liked. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay and a good fit for our family of five.

While this hotel suited our needs, it had a few quirks. The staircase up three flights was very dark, and the shared room for our family of five, though spacious, had only one bathroom. Breakfast was limited and started later than we would have liked. That said, the location was excellent, and it served as a convenient base for exploring the area.

Thank you for sharing your love of Pompeii with our family today. We absolutely loved learning about the city, and even in the scorching heat 🥵, it was incredible to explore a small part of such a well-preserved and fascinating place.

We took a cooking class with Alessandro today—my husband and I plus our three kids (16, 13, and 11)—and it was an absolute hit! We were joined by one other guest and spent three wonderful hours learning and cooking together in a calm, air-conditioned space (a perfect escape from the heat wave!). Alessandro was welcoming, knowledgeable, and great with both adults and kids. We made cacio e pepe, amatriciana, and homemade gelato (coffee and Nutella was the crowd favourite). Highly recommend this experience—fun, delicious, and memorable. Fingers crossed our cacio e pepe and gelato turn out just as good at home!

Very nice classic hotel. I wasn’t as impressed as other hotels though and maybe it was because it was an older hotel. Would have preferred a hotel with a pool even if a small one.

Really loved this hotel. Had I known how great it would be I would probably have preferred to stay longer here than in Lisbon.

We loved this trip - the scenery, river boat trip and visit to Pacheca. Highly recommend.

Learned a lot about the making of port wine. We were with many people though and when checking in they said we would have a cheese and maybe chocolate pairings but since we’re lumped with many others we were waiting for this. I had to ask and they finally brought us some cheeses.

Our guide Sara was super knowledgeable and took us to so many great places on the walking tour. Had we not done this, probably would not have ventured to all these parts.

Oh my word we loved this nice hotel with a view of the Ferris wheel and garden and the location was fantastic- we walked everywhere and saw so much! We walked to the fish market and wharf and around the beautiful lake and gardens as well as to the floyen funicular which is a must! But- one of my favorite things about this hotel is the breakfast buffet, 3 rooms of food- it was spectacular! I would stay here over and over again, and the rooms were spacious too!

Wow!! A must see for anyone remotely interested in gardening and landscape- can’t believe these are all annuals! Loved the gardens and the dinner was great too. What an amazing story

OMG the highlight of the entire trip! We did the hidden trail tour with guide that included canoeing and although it was longer we did not see ONE other person on the hike! We joined the main trail for last mile and that was a steady stream of people so less enjoyable. The hike was challenging at a few points (scrambling up rocks) and was about 6 hrs total but the VIEW! One of top 3 hikes in world that we have ever done

Nice day trip, we hiked to the waterfall! Hiked through pastures of sheep, was delightful. Steep hills at times during hike that were good workout for cardio (not leisurely easy stroll at times)

Hands down best accom in my itinerary, the best buffet breakfast - so much variety, and in the best location!

The only confusing thing was trying to figure out how to turn the tv on (its not as straightforward/easy). We thought the tv didn't work at first, and had to get staff into the room to show us! My only suggestion is in the future, for staff to point this out and show guests! The positives - gorgeous location, boutique style decor and the most friendly happy waitress at the restaurant!!

Hardangerfjord RIB Safari was more like a transport option, to get you to the Siderhuset Ola K restaurant - just don't expect a tour with detailed commentary! Its a fun, fast option to speed your way to your dinner destination. The restaurant's food and ciders were amazing.

Just be wiling to wait up to 2 hours as there is a longgg line for the trolltunga photo!

Dont do the return flam railway, do this option instead - blown away by the scenery when you get to cycle at your own pace down the valley back to Flam. This option gives you a good variety, an experience from all angles!

Sonia was a fanstic tour guide! She shaped a comprehensive experience to make up for a minor change in the itinerary. While in Sintra, she bought us tickets to the National Castle there, she took us to get a classic pastry and latte (which is always a plus), and she showed us other beautiful parts of Lisbon. She even made my sister brownies because she knew it was her birthday! So kind! She even heard me talking about where to get the best Pastel de Nata and let me know that the locals prefer the Pastéis de Belém, so she drove us to the location where they are made to make sure we tried it before we left. It turned out to be such a great day, even with the minor hiccup in the schedule.

José was a fantastic tour guide. He found some special and unique spots for us to take pictures while also sharing the rich history of Lisbon. The highlight was a small lunch spot he recommended for the Red Vinho Verde that is a unique experience in Lisbon. José could have just pointed us in the right direction for the restaurant, but no, he took it a step further and walked us over to the restaurant, gave us the best recommendation to order and actually spoke to the staff to make sure they took care of us and we had the best experience. Just above and beyond what we could have expected.

This day was the one I was most concerned about (just because it would be a long day on the road) and it turned out to be a highlight of the trip! Nazaré was absolutely beautiful and Aveiro was lovely as well. But mostly it was chatting with João, understanding more about Portugal and seeing how we are all connected no matter where we grew up, that made the day special for my sister and I.

Our driver, João, was incredible! Traveling with him was the highlight of the trip. He even talked about the NBA with my sister, which is one of her favorite things to chat about! Also, we enjoyed meeting Carla who gave us a tour of the Quinta Da Pacheca winery. She was fantastic and also had us laughing the whole time :)

The tour was a fantastic experience, that exposed us to the wonderful world of Porto cuisine. We were shown classic restaurant locations, that we certainly wouldn’t have been about to find on our own. So much fun, and a unique experience. Unfortunately, I can't remember our tour guides name but he was great!

. Our tour guide, Elena, was wonderful! Not only was she knowledgeable, and we learned a lot but we also had fun and she took so many memorable pics for us. She made our first day in Porto a great one!

Movenpick was a great choice for us in Aswan. It's only reachable by boat which provided a unique experience and the views from both our room and from the tower bar were great. The room quality was average, but the service was superb.

Rooms were average, but the pool amenities were right on the Nile and provided a great place for dinner and to unwind after a long day of traveling.

We loved it. Rooms, service, food and amenities were first class. We would definitely stay again the next time we are in Cairo.

Again, Osama could not have been better. The GEM was incredible to see the ancient artifacts were so incredible.

The market was fun to see, but the highlight was lunch at the famous Naguib Mahfouz restaurant. What a unique experience.

The Felluca ride was terrific. Our family loves the water and the sunset Felluca cruise was perfect for us.

The Valley of Kings and Luxor Temple were amazing and must do activities in Luxor.

We didn't get to go because of high winds. But, others that did go highly recommended it.

Once in a lifetime experience. The Sphinx and museum were awe inspiring, but the Camel ride next to the pyramids was something we will all remember forever.

We loved learning about the history of the Osaka castle.

Miyajima island and the shrines on the water were so beautiful! Our guide had some extra challenges with our group that day, and she did an amazing job with dealing with the circumstances to ensure we could finish seeing all the things and the museum in Hiroshima.

We loved learning about the traditional tea ceremony and dressing up in the traditional clothing and taking photos together.

We had good experiences riding the bullet trains.

The boat ride to see mount Fuji was disappointing because the mountain was behind clouds. This is not the fault of our guide. We also got caught in a thunderstorm downpour that day, which added some spice to our day. We were not able to complete the full experience our guide had planned for us because of the rain.

Fabulous location. Rooms were a bit on the smaller side with no drawers to store clothes. Amenities were nice as well as the breakfast.

The mosaics here made this church and palace different than what we saw previously. Also, since Doge had a prison, it gave us something more to see

It was nice to have access to the waterway bus line as Venice is made up of hundreds of islands and transport is needed

One of the highlights of our trip and the only one that wasn’t a tour or a museum or church. Love Italian food and seeing the Grand Market and learning how to make our own pasta was a fun time for all.

Loved the private tour with Martina. She was friendly, personable and added so much knowledge to our visit.

This was probably our most favorite place to say during our trip. Our room with on suite onsen was specular. There are a number of tourists that stay in this hotel so breakfast can get pretty packed but they staff and amenities are specular.

Truly an amazing, one of a kind experience. The house was beautiful and it was great to change up our setting after being in two hotels in other cities. The house has a huge shower/cedar tub that was great for relaxing in after a long day of walking in the summer heat. We really appreciated the breakfast that was delivered to the house and that it showcased local food. If you are looking for something a little different and very authentic this is a great option.

This was an amazing treat. We received instruction on Japanese Calligraphy from an amazing family in Nara. Our senior instructor had incredible skill and made the process look so simple. She and her daughters were gracious hosts helping us work on our brush strokes before getting to create a final version that they then framed. We ended the session with a light snack and some tea, which absolutely hit the spot before we continued our sightseeing at Nara park. We could have spent the entire day with these magnificent ladies and it was a true pleasure to learn from them.

We had an amazing experience with our host. One of our attendees didn't fully appreciate the intricacies of the Wagyu experience but he was an unfortunate outlier. Emily was an amazing guide and we greatly appreciated her knowledge of Shinjuku, it's history and insights into areas to visit again on another trip. My son has a peanut allergy and she was very sensitive to that issue and made sure we did not have anything to worry about in that regard and we were very happy to have her when we stopped at the retro candy store and she was able to double check all of the food labels for us!

Our tour guide Pam was incredibly knowledgeable about the Gion district, and Temples she took us to. Her knowledge and insight made the tour extremely interesting and is something we would absolutely do again. She even provided us with additional recommendations for places to visit or specific shops to see based on our interests.
