Thank you Shona and kimkim! Shona planned our trip exactly as we'd hoped, and we enjoyed the tea ceremony, city sight suggestions, and easy train plans. However, we didn't have some of the final details until the day before our trip, which initially caused us a bit of worry. Additionally, the Mt. Fuji day felt like we could have used our time better, as we spent most of the day driving and didn't really see anything. In Japan, the tour guides are very hit or miss - we had one that completely overwhelmed us and were left exhausted by them, and had one that was AMAZING and went completely out of their way for us.

The guide completely overwhelmed us (they didn't even let us check into our hotel ourselves, and insisted they do it, then gave us all the wrong information about the hotel). The driver seemed to be in a bad mood all day.

Mother/daughter trip went flawlessly and the entire week near Kruger was top notch! Esther made great recommendations and was reassuring about all the lodging and transfers. It was wonderful to have her expertise from the planning stages to the completion of the trip. Our guide on the panoramic drive was very knowledgeable. (Maybe Titus) Sadly I have forgotten his name. The guides at Kruger Shalati (Lisa) and at Mjejane made sure we found lots of animals on every drive. The worst part about the trip was the condition of the road between Hootspreit and Kruger Shalati. I counted over 100 speed bumps. Minor detail. Thank you Esther, and the rest of
our support staff.

We had a really great trip that we definitely couldn't have put together ourselves. We had the same guide throughout our time in the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Cusco, and he was a wealth of knowledge and and an excellent guide. Anne, our specialist, did a really good job of incorporating our interests in developing the itinerary. Their operations team was extremely responsive when one of our intra-Peru flights was delayed overnight and was able to change our tours around so that we didn't miss anything.

I loved this hotel. The location was perfect, right in the heart of Miraflores. It had all the amenities you might want, including a gym and heated rooftop pool, and a fun rooftop bar. The room was small but comfortable and well laid out, and soundproofing was excellent. We were right below the rooftop bar on Friday and Saturday night, and didn't hear any noise from it. The breakfast was also really good, and staff friendly.

Great location, right by the lake, with a private dock for excursions to the floating islands. I wish the overall ambiance in the common areas were better since there's nothing within walking distance. The restaurant and bar very much felt like you were sitting in a hotel lobby, but the quality of food and drink was pretty good. There also wasn't anywhere to refill water bottles. They sold large bottles for really cheap so it wasn't a huge deal, but it seemed unnecessary to waste all that plastic. The room was quite comfortable.

This was easily my least favorite of the hotels we stayed at. The room was small and dark and had little annoyances - no outlets near the bed, which is frustrating since most people use Cusco as a base for early excursions, and just about everyone uses their phone as an alarm. There also wasn't a full-length mirror anywhere in the room and the bathroom only had one towel hook - these are such obvious oversights and easy fixes that it shows a lack of care on the hotel's part. The location was decent - it was on the main avenue, but the opposite end as a lot of stuff; we had a 15-20 minute walk to get to most bars, restaurants, and shops. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly.

Great location if you're interested in exploring the Amazon rainforest, since it's relatively close to Puerto Maldonado (10 minute drive followed by a 45 minute boat ride). It also has more creature comforts than I suspect is typical for a jungle hotel, the food was better than I expected, and the excursions and the guides were excellent. One thing to be aware of is that there's no cell service there and they don't have wi-fi.

We did the evening tour due to a flight delay, and had a great time. There was a lot of back and forth between Barranco and Miraflores, which meant a lot of time in the car. I loved the guided walk around Barranco and there were plenty of restaurants there, so I think I would have preferred staying in that neighborhood and doing a walking food tour, especially since we were staying in Miraflores and it's very tourist friendly, so we could have done those spots on our own. We had a fun time though.

This was about 10 hours including the stops. We had to get to Puno somehow, and a long bus ride is never going to be fun, and this one was relatively comfortable. The stops were nice in theory, but all of them were about twice as long as necessary - they ranged from 40-60 minutes, and 20-30 would have been sufficient to stretch our legs and see the sites. The bus was supposed to have wifi which they never turned on, and the guide was extremely talkative without really providing much useful information. Overall, a relatively comfortable way to get from Cusco to Puno though.

For each one, he gave us three straws for us to share the drink, and I would have strongly preferred that he divided them into three glasses, even though it would have impacted the presentation. Also, no cooking was involved; it was just drinks. That's fine, since we had a large lunch immediately after, but the title is misleading.

Such a cool experience. I'm really glad we did this, rather than just taking the bus directly to Machu Picchu. The hike was hard but definitely manageable, and our guide was patient. Climbing up to the Sun Temple and getting the first birds eye view of Machu Picchu was incredible and made the whole experience worth it.

I think this was our first meal not at a hotel, and it was excellent. It was really fun to learn about and watch the underground cooking process (they essentially made a natural underground pressure cooker), and all the food was delicious. The farm also has a distillery and coffee roaster onsite - we were able to do a tasting at the distillery which was also fun.

Having spent time in many European countries, Portugal did not disappoint! I wish our trip would have allowed us to stay in Porto a bit longer to experience more of the city and it's fabulous views! However, we felt the eBike tour hit a good many of those spots in a short amount of time. Lisbon was also fantastic! I loved that our hotel was right in the city centre and in the middle of everything! We enjoyed be able to walk everywhere. Paulo was an awesome guide for our day trip out of the city! We enjoyed the sites and his knowledge of everything. So glad we had him as our guide!

We had aa wonderful trip to Egypt! From the moment we arrived to the time we left, we were in very good hands. The local team took very good care of us in each city. Our accommodations were great, including the Nile cruise. Two things I would do differently: I would make the journey when the temperature are A LOT cooler! We would have enjoyed seeing all of the temples and the pyramids more if we were sweating. :) And I would likely not do just a day trip to Alexandria. It was a 6+ hour round trip ride just to see a couple of things and not even go "into" anything. But overall, we were very pleased with the itinerary!

Our trip to Kenya was awesome! The combination of great weather, amazing wildlife, gorgeous scenery, and friendly people made it one of our top trips. Our guide, Eric, was fantastic! The three reserves/National Parks we visited were the perfect combination to see different wildlife and environments. Our stay with the Masai Mara tribe was great and a very different experience! The Hot Air balloon ride at sunrise was beautiful. I know wildlife sightings can't be controlled but we barely saw anything. I likely would have passed on the ride having known that on the front end. A very enjoyable and ll of our accommodations were spot-on. We especially enjoyed the Mara Kimana Camp. Beautiful! However, the road leading to the camp is awful! They really need to improve that road.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable experience and we would definitely recommend this kind of trip/itinerary to our family and friends!

We are so grateful to Margaux for her guidance in planning an eight-day trip to Switzerland. We were able to experience the amazing beauty of the Alps, the awesome technology of train and gondola travel in the country, and to stay in unique accommodations.
Our highlights were in Lucerne (Mt. Pilatus), the mountains accessible from Interlaken (Schilthorn and Grimmelwald, The First, and Zermatt (Matterhorn).

We encountered no problems with reservations for hotels and tickets for special events. All in all a wonderful experience for us.
This is our second trip with KimKim and we highly recommend their services to our friends/family.

One year ago this week our family was on a fabulous vacation in Italy. Our incredible specialist Irene worked to plan our “Food and Wine Tour” according to the places we wanted to see and things we wanted to do. Our accommodations were beautiful, our drivers and tour guides were so friendly and the private activities she arranged were amazing. Some of the most memorable being a private wine tasting at a family winery held at their dining room table with “mom” preparing lunch and the family eating with us, a private cooking class in a renovated barn in the middle of nowhere in Tuscany and eating with the chef, and a private boat cruise complete with lunch down the coast of Cinque Terre and snorkeling in the Ligurian sea. We enjoyed every moment and hope to go back to see all of the places we did not get to experience and will definitely use KimKim and request Irene. We truly had a trip of a lifetime.

I have never booked a personalized trip before, figuring it was way to expensive and out of reach. But when my husband and I decided to go to Morocco we had very little time and there was so much we wanted to see. I decided to investigate custom travel to aid in our transfers from place to place and help us determine the best places to go. We could not be more happy with the service we received. He was flexible when we got spirited away and accommodated all of our wishes. We had a different local guide in Fes, Sharif, which is essential if you want to visit the huge Medina there. His english was superb and he showed us places we'd have never discovered on our own while also educating us on the history of the old town. KimKim Travel works with local, native guides who can give you a far greater understanding of a place than you could ever discover on your own. I highly recommend trying out a custom tour - you will be glad you did!

Ana made a last-minute trip to Indonesia easy, comfortable, and incredible. She paired me with great drivers (Satria and Oka) and local guides (Like Duy at Prambanan and Bayu at Bromo) and was always just a WhatsApp message away when I had questions on the trip! I would definitely book with Ana again!

Wow what a trip! This was definitely the trip of a lifetime and Angela made that happen. KimKim has been a godsend planning for a group of 6 people. We had a slight hiccup when we arrived late to our Athens apartment and the place hadn't been cleaned. I messaged Angela and she got back to me right away (it was like 11pm) and fixed the issue by the time we had gone out for a drink and came back. We were all very impressed!

I would say the best part about KimKim was all of the transportation that was set up for us and all of the drivers we had. Our shuttles were ALWAYS on time and the drivers were always upbeat and SO sweet. George, Dimitris, Nikos, all amazing!!!!!! They deserve raises.

Also, every one of our tour guides were the best as well!! We all could not stop raving about every guide we had, professional and you could tell they truly enjoyed what they did, we were very very impressed.

Accommodations were beautiful!!!! The one thing I would maybe suggest is just warning people how many steps there are to get to each villa. Honestly wasn't an issue for us, and getting the most amazing views was 100 percent worth it. But if someone has any issues with stairs, I would probably be good to just get a little warning (80 steps up to our Naxos villa and 160 steps down to our Santorini villa). The price you pay for insane picturesque views!!!!!

Our villa in Naxos was a all around favorite! It was the most beautiful views and an amazing private pool, absolutely incredible.

Stefanos, the man who worked at the hotel, was nice enough to drive us to the grocery store on our first day. We aren't sure what we would have done if he hadn't driven us. That would be just my one suggestion is to maybe have a plan for the next people on how to get groceries or how to go about getting dinner in town.

Location, perfect. Layout and space, beautiful. We did have an issue with the cleaning. We arrived very late at night and our apartment hadn't been cleaned. Angela and the building management had someone come to give us fresh sheets and towels for the night and would send someone for a full cleaning the next day. No one showed up the next day. Management was so apologetic and I just think it was a one time issue, but it was really irritating. Not a fault of KimKim at all, I just want people to know. Someone did end up coming our last day and doing a clean.

Amazing amazing amazing!!!! At first we thought it looked like a lot of people to have on the boat at one time (about 16 of us). But it never felt crowded at all! One of our party got seasick and the crew was SO nice making sure she felt comfortable the whole time. The sunset was incredible and the dinner they made us was delicious. I recommend 10/10 for everyone to do this one.

Naxos to Mykonos Day Trip

We loved this tour and our tour guide. Only issue was the length of the trip. Our ferry was delayed by 30 min, but I think it could have been planned a bit better. It was supposed to be a day trip to Mykonos and by the time we got there we only had 2.5 hrs to see everything. Our guide was incredible, but I would really suggest getting an early morning ferry (ours wasn't until 12:15pm and was delayed until 12:45pm) so that you have substantial time there. That was a bit disappointing. I almost feel like the tour was planned as if we were taking a high speed ferry, but we were not.

Nikolas was a wonderful specialist. The planning process was easy, fun, accommodated our specific wants. The plan was very detailed including photos of accommodations and restaurant suggestions. (Tho we did do our own research for that). During the trip Nikola was available for and answered questions, provided next day guidance each day, suggested and scheduled alternatives when weather caused plan cancellations, and contacted drivers, etc if there was any potential issue at all. Nikola and his boss really helped with the process when we had accidental damage and the car company wanted us to sign that we agreed to pay for the damage instead of just the damage report itself. They worked it out for us and got the replacement car. 100% Recommend Nikola, KimKim and their travel planning.

I loved it! We were grouped with 2 other young couples so it made the whole experience really fun. I thought it was one night too long though. In 2 days we had done the best activities. It was so hot that after 2 days we got tired of the heat (no fan or air con)Also, we did not get to choose our activities like it was described on kimkim. I was also having diarrhea the whole time I was there, probably because of the water.

The hike itself is great! Too many people asking to ride a horse and bad toilets but overall reslly great. But I did NOT enjoy the drive. I got scared we were going to fall off the cliff. We did ask our driver to slow down but still, the road is very very dangerous.

We were a group of 21 focused on meditation and tracking the Nakasendo trail.

Without a doubt, one of my most favorite vacations despite missing four days due to flight disruptions. The first part of our trip, we spent three nights in Cape Town and stayed at the La Splendida Hotel with an ocean view and minutes away from the waterfront. Bridget Wilcox was our tour guide in Cape Town to a Penguin Safari, a drive along the coast to Cape Point, Hirschenbosch Botanical Gardens and wine tasting. Bridget was friendly, informative, funny, and knowledgeable. We enjoyed having Bridget as our tour guide while in Cape Town. I appreciated, Laurel, a representative from Capi Tours, meeting my husband and I at the airport while we waited for our ride to the hotel given the chaotic start we had. From Cape Town, we flew to Kruger National park - Shalati. The 3 day safari was the highlight and best part of our adventure. Shalati did not disappoint from the staff, accommodations, food, surroundings/atmosphere and overall experience. Definitely exceeded all of my expectations. Benedict from what I observed ran the place well, professional, helpful and made it a point guests were taken care of. Shout out to Subisiso and Lurrecia, both waited on us the majority of our stay and super friendly and helpful. The game drives were quite an experience like no other. We were able to see 4 of the Big Five and in complete awe of seeing them in their nature habitat. The last leg of our vacation, we flew to Zimbabwe. We saw Victoria Falls (no dead pool swimming) but pretty neat regardless and then a Bomba dinner that evening. Our last night, we had lunch at Dusty Road and a sunset cruise. It was such a pleasant evening on the cruise and surprisingly had a great time.

My biggest complaint: La Splendida Hotel and theft. We had a few items laundered with a next day return. I picked up my clothes at the front desk from Lucille (manager) the morning of our last day in Cape Town. I took the clothes to my room and left for our all day wine tasting tour. When we returned, I noticed 4 of our laundered items were missing. I immediately notified the front desk and was told to talk to the manager in the morning, which was the morning we were flying to Kruger National Park. Lucille tried to deflect that it was a possible mix up with another guest's request, plausible but very unlikely. Someone with a key entered our room while we were away and stole our clothes!! We had laundry service at Shalati and Pioneer and had no issues or experienced theft of any kind. Apparently, others have also reported theft at La Splendida (something we found out later after the fact). With a service such as Kim Kim, it is their responsibility to vet hotels, tour guides, etc. and ensure they are reputable before recommending to their guests. I paid for and relied on Kim Kim's expertise to do that on my behalf. In this regard, they failed in my opinion. Stephanie did work with the hotel to recover the stolen clothes. It's been almost 6 weeks since we've been back and I have yet to receive them, if ever.
