We recently returned from an incredible 8-day family trip to Ireland, and we cannot thank your team enough for the care, detail, and thoughtful planning that went into our itinerary. From the very beginning, everything was smooth, organized, and clearly designed with our family’s interests in mind.

From start to finish, we felt fully supported. Even through our arrival delay, Claire and her team were available and made the needed adjustments seemlessly. The personalized itinerary balanced scenic drives, cultural highlights, and hands-on adventures perfectly — something that kept all four of us engaged, including two teens! The mix of guided experiences and flexible time allowed us to explore at our own pace without feeling rushed.

Highlights of our trip included:
The Falconry Adventure in Killarney was a family favorite and something we’ll be talking about for years.

Kayaking on the Lakes of Killarney was both peaceful and thrilling (when the wind picked up on our return paddle).

The Cliffs of Moher, especially seeing them from the water, was absolutely breathtaking.

And of course, the warm welcomes and live traditional music in local pubs made the evenings feel like a celebration.

We also appreciated the well-chosen accommodations — each hotel was comfortable, family-friendly, and conveniently located. The included breakfasts were excellent and helped us fuel up before big days of exploring.

Your team's attention to detail, from Google Maps links and local tips to activity vouchers and backup contacts, made this trip feel easy and stress-free. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches for navigating car rentals and parking.

This was our first trip to Ireland, and because of your team, it definitely won’t be our last. We’d recommend your services without hesitation to anyone looking for a well-curated, immersive, and family-friendly travel experience.

Thank you again for helping us create memories that will last a lifetime.

Knowing that moments like the Falconry Adventure, kayaking on the Lakes of Killarney, and experiencing the Cliffs of Moher from the water became cherished highlights makes us so happy.

We also appreciate your kind words about the accommodations and the little details that helped make the trip feel smooth and stress-free. Our goal is always to ensure you can focus on enjoying your journey while we handle the logistics behind the scenes.

My husband and I attended a destination wedding in Costa Rica. We expanded our trip with vacation time and hired KimKim to work out a tour plan. The Costa Rica specialist who designed the trip was Gustavo and he did a great job. We filled out a form giving our preferences and activities that we liked and then had a video chat to move toward finalizing the plan. He was sensitive to things we did not want to do. We enjoyed all of the activities suggested by Gustavo. Further, he booked us into hotels that we enjoyed as well. The hotel in La Fortuna was excellent as were the tours in that area. Per our suggestion, the hotel in Monteverde was more 'adventurous' and that was enjoyed as well.

We want to give a special thanks to long-suffering Greg, who set up all of the tours and made the reservations. I wanted to add one particular tour in Monteverde and he graciously set it up even though it was not on the original list. There was time to do it and he fit it in. He was most helpful throughout the trip. It turns out that the 'extra' activity was by far my favorite of the whole trip. It was a private birding tour in Monteverde and we just loved it. Don't miss the fabulous birds in Costa Rica.

All of the tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. We unfortunately did not know Spanish, but all guides spoke good English. They were most helpful. Most all of our tours were private ones but we enjoyed our very few group ones as well. KimKim also arranged private transportation for us since we chose not to drive. There were several hours-long trips. The drivers were all prompt and friendly. Their English was minimal but Google Translate took care of anything we needed.

KimKim suggested Faye travel insurance. We took their suggestion. At one point we needed to contact them and aid was offered promptly. I found them excellent to work with.

All in all, we had an excellent experience with KimKim and would use them again.

Hotel Costa Verde
Manuel Antonio

We stayed at this hotel because it was the site of a destination wedding to which we were invited. This hotel is situated on a hill and extends pretty much from top to bottom, counting the restaurants. There are numerous room areas (designated A through E) that are scattered from reception (near the top) to the bottom of the hill. A is at the top and E, where we stayed, was at the bottom. Some units are part of a larger building, bungalows (which we had) look more like singles. The hotel has an aeronautic theme, so some rooms include the nose of a plane. Staying at area E meant that we were close to the lovely beach, but a bit of a distance from other areas, including reception. The hotel readily provides transport from area to area on demand, but my husband and I walked most of the time. That meant a fairly steep walk up to pool areas or to reception or to the restaurants. Despite our ages (70s) we were able to do it successfully. This hotel is not meant for those with mobility issues. Our unit had a balcony overlooking the beach. It would have been idyllic, but the noise from the main road below was very intrusive. We were able to tune out regular car noise, but there were many busses, trucks, motorcycles and vehicles with no mufflers. That was highly annoying. Each room has a kitchen. Although they claim the kitchen is fully stocked, we did not consider ours 'fully stocked'. Minimally is how I would describe it, though there was a cook top and refrigerator and microwave, some silverware and dishes. The biggest problem was the very weak light in the kitchen. We like to cook our own breakfasts and one could barely see in that kitchen even when the other lights in the unit were on. However, the rooms were large and comfortable and very clean. Maids come daily. Despite our hanging up our towels, the towels were changed every day. I found that surprising considering the ecological bent of Costa Rica. The only restaurant we used was Anaconda for lunch. We found it a very pleasant restaurant with good food. We especially enjoyed the lox sandwich. We only used the adults only pool which was half way between our room and reception. It was a very nice pool with a bar attached. It had great views all around it. There is a path for a short hike shown on the map but don't try to take it. It's largely impassable and not worth the trouble. One gets enough exercise hiking the regular hills in this hotel just to get to reception, restaurants, etc. All that said, the views from anywhere on the hotel property are exceptional. The foliage is lovely. We saw many birds, especially macaws and kiskadees and green parakeets. There were also white-faced monkeys and, somewhere off the premises, a howler monkey. It was only a short walk from our unit to the beach, which is a very beautiful beach. We can recommend this hotel, but with the stated reservations.

Hotel Lomas del Volcán
Fortuna

Hotel Lomas del Volcan was an excellent hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bathroom was large and luxurious. There was no refrigerator in the room but there was really no need for one. The breakfast buffet was included and provided a wide choice of food. Service was excellent. For dinner, one could eat at the bar, the pool, or the restaurant if one wanted more formal, bigger dinners. The food was good. My husband and I especially appreciated the fabulous landscaping at the property. It was obvious a great deal of care went into it. There were beautiful flowers, trees and shrubs everywhere. There were a fair amount of birds and many people joined birdwatching groups to admire the birds. We also enjoyed the monkeys. Mostly there were spider monkeys which one could see best in the early morning or evening. We never saw the howler monkey but its howls reverberated early in the morning and in the evening. I was fascinated by it so it never bothered me. The service at the hotel was excellent in general and they were highly responsive if we needed something. The hotel is situated a bit far from the town. You would have to get a taxi if you wanted to go into town for anything, but we didn't really need to. We had a local tour every day and were occupied when we returned to the hotel. There is a walking trail that one can take, but we didn't see anything special on it. It's best to walk the main grounds of the hotel and admire the foliage and the bird population. All in all, we recommend the hotel.

Authenticity & Character
The landscaping.
Location
It was secluded and beautiful. There were good views of the volcano.
Staff
The maid for our room would make origami from the towels. One day it was an elephant, another day it was two swans 'kissing'. It was a bit special.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Nothing to add. The grounds and rooms were always clean and neat.
Los Pinos - Cabañas & Jardines
Monteverde Costa Rica

My husband and I enjoyed this experience. Los Pinos is not a 'traditional' hotel. Guests have their own cabin; our cabin was clean and comfortable and had a rustic-look. We had a 'junior' cabin, which meant that we had one queen-sized bed. Some cabins were a bit smaller but most were larger and could accommodate families. Each cabin has a fully-stocked kitchen. Ours was stocked with vinegar and oil for salads, salt and pepper, coffee and tea. There was a toaster oven, a cook top, refrigerator and plenty of dishes and pots and pans. We looked upon this hotel as 'glamping'. Los Pinos was situated on its own preserve on a hill. Monteverde is, of course, very hilly. Having no car, we had a short uphill walk to our cabin from the registration area. Our suitcases were transported to our cabin. The site was private and wooded, just as we like. There was a picnic table and chair outside the cabin on the porch but it was generally too chilly for us to make good use of them. We were there in late March. The cabin was very spacious and warm indoors. Some might be put off by the fact that one could not put toilet paper down the toilet, but it didn't bother us terribly. It was, however, very difficult to remember to do so as habit is so strong. The bathroom was well ventilated and there was no bad smell. Maid service came every day and removed the trash. We very much enjoyed the ecological point of view espoused in Costa Rica. The person working in reception was always most helpful even though we required little. There is a private reserve with a trail that one can hike but we found nothing of note on the hike . We do not really recommend this activity. It was fine for the exercise. There is a nice lookout at the top, but the day we were there it was quite cloudy. Best to walk to Curi Cancha and walk around that lovely park. Be sure to eat at Stella's on the way.

Authenticity & Character
The cabins and their wooded locale.
Location
It was close to restaurants, a bakery, a bank and a supermarket.
Staff
The manager in reception was always helpful and friendly and maid service was very good.

The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The hike was excellent. The guide told us a lot about the area and pointed out interesting animals and birds, particularly the birds. It was a group hike and it was interesting meeting the various travelers. The waterfall experience was a bit less so for us. We were the only ones on this part of the trip and had no idea what to expect. It turns out that the waterfall is 500 steps down and 500 back up. You can swim in the pool but one has to clamber over huge rocks to get there. After we got back to the top we were taken to a private farm to table lunch at a restaurant owned by the tour company. It was a lovely secluded site, but the food was so-so. We enjoyed the day, however.

My husband and I enjoyed this activity start to finish. It gave one a perspective on the life of the indigenous peoples back in time which gave way to present days issues. The demonstrations were fascinating. They demonstrated a wedding ceremony, how they made their clothes and how they made bows and arrows. I actually shot an arrow and hit the target. Big win for me. This tour focused heavily on the plants and the cloud forest itself, rather than the birds and all of the animals. The guide was excellent and his passion for the environment was evident. My husband I like to kayak but this trip fell a bit short. We took the trip in the late morning and that may have made a difference. It was very hot and anything interesting was probably hidden away. There ended up being two guides for us two people. One, the secondary guide, was quite interesting and talked a lot to us. The main guide was informative during the ride, but got quieter during the trip. Basically, we paddled through mangrove trees for an hour or so. It gets very repetitive. The best part was the last 10 minutes when we actually saw two interesting birds. It wasn't our best trip. The kayaks are not propelled by paddles as we are used to. They are propelled by pedaling, as in a reclining bicycle. Steering them is also very different from our norm, and it took a few minutes to get used to. I would not really recommend this tour, but it could be better at a different time of day.

I wouldn't do this tour again but rather stay in Paris or someplace closer. Our guide was nice but talked a lot, more then any other guide we'd ever had.
Dinner on the Seine was absolutely wonderful. When were seated the Eiffel tower right next to us, providing wonderful views at night. The food and wine were amazing. Truly a night we will always remember.

I wouldn't recommend this tour from Paris. We enjoyed seeing the castles but were rushed through each one and given too much information. We always book private tours so we can take our time. We didn't have time to linger and take in the sites, explore different areas of the sites, or have lunch in a nice small cafe. The ride would have been much more comfortable in a car but instead we were picked up in a van. It was uncomfortable ride for a long day of driving.

I couldn’t have been more pleased.

We had a terrific experience. Regret we lost our first day, but know it was no one’s fault due to a fire at Heathrow. It took Jim until 3am that Thursday night to obtain flight verification to London and it ended up being by was of Frankfort Germany on Lufthansa. What a story!! We arrived in London the next day- mid morning.
Our guided tours to Royal London and Beatles Walking tour were exceptional. How amazing we ended up one on one with our guides. Fort loved both tours and enjoyed interacting with both men.

In retrospect, we probably had too much scheduled as we didn’t make it to a couple of places. But, everything we did was terrific AND only makes us and Fort want to return!!

Jim loved the Beatles tour… we all enjoyed it, but he loved it!! Loved Westminster Abbey. Cutty Sark was a huge hit and Greenwich was so interesting. We all loved Churchill Bunker- Jim and Fort stuck together to take it all in. Again, a great success.
Weather amazing- only rained when we were on train to Windsor- we were lucky! We actually headed to Windsor as soon as we got into our hotel. It didn’t give us a full day and we exited with guides…asking questions the whole way. It was still wonderful. The doll house will have to wait!! So proud we successfully navigated metro and train to get there!! We walked 10-12,000 steps daily…so we certainly saw and experienced a lot!!
Hotel was quite nice- accommodating, comfortable, good breakfast…lovely dining area.
(I know I’ve left out something…- forgive me if I did!!)
Thanks to Jane for her patience with us. We tried to make it perfect…and we we’ll say it was awfully close to it!!

Many thanks-

Jessica/ Jim Robinson

Hi Jennifer!

I am so glad to hear that you could feel safe during your trip, as that was our number one priority. Often, people ask if Costa Rica is safe because it's located in Central America. Being one of the safest countries in the region, you can travel stress-free, and of course, we take any extra steps necessary to make it safer and more comfortable.

P.D: Local restaurants along the way are amazing, aren't they? One of my favorite aspects of traveling around Costa Rica 🇨🇷

Our tour guide gave us a good brief orientation. It was good to have time to explore the medina, then. We went to the kasbah museum in the medina; this was disappointing as there was not a lot to see for the price, poor lighting inside made it difficult to read information, which was not in English, and 3 employees stood in the garden the whole time when they could have been helping visitors learn about the site.

Riding a camel was a unique experience. I wouldn't want to have to do it daily! The camel driver was helpful and friendly. At the end, just before leaving us at the desert luxury camp, he told us that he wasn't paid to take people by camel to the desert camp, so he encouraged us to buy polished fossil artifacts that he'd brought with him.

We had an amazing family trip. We were very happy with Ben in helping us plan and make decisions for our family. We also appreciated the accommodations that he provided when things went differently (unexpectedly) than originally planned. We are thankful for the small gifts and showing of gratitude that he provided during our trip as well (an extra private transport, engraving for our souvenir chopsticks). We also thought our guide Yoko was wonderful and we felt that we were in very good hands with her. We appreciated her flexibility to change/adjust plans when needed for our family, and trusted her advice along the way. We believe she had our best interests in mind.

While our experience was very positive, we do have feedback on some areas of improvement. I think better details regarding the schedule/timing of the day would have been helpful BEFORE the trip. The itinerary for some days was overly ambitious and we had to adjust (cut back) based on dwindling energy levels of everyone. We could have used better judgment/advice regarding that in advance, and built in some down time for everyone to just relax and enjoy the moment.

Another note -- I traveled with other family members who also used KimKim, and they had a very questionable (arguably negative) experience with KimKim. The travel agent Olivia was not responsive, provided inaccurate or incomplete information, and not particularly apologetic or accommodating for major mistakes/errors in the trip. Even though that was not my personal experience, I witnessed it firsthand with my other family members, and as a result, I do have concerns about KimKim and wonder if the service is inconsistent across travel agents. That is something I think about.

Cairo Vacation

Had a great trip with Kim Kim and the local company, Original Travels, in Egypt.
Samara, Mohammed, and Zakarya were very knowledgeable and super accommodating to our needs. Samara went above and beyond helping us secure our luggage 7 days after arrival. This is my second time using Kim Kim and plan to use them in the future

All of our private guides and tours were definitely the way to go for the 5 of us.....no waiting in lines or having to decide where to go, how to get there, or what to expect. The order of the daily activities was also good...one day built on the next especially learning about King Louis XIV...from the Chateaux Day tour, to the Louvre, to Versailles and finally the covered passages - he definitely got around. It's hard to pick out one favorite activity....each one had its highlight. Joel, our chateaux day trip driver and guide, Laurine at the Louvre, and Chef Dominque were exceptional. We all loved the Louvre teen quest tour- Laurine's stories made the sculptures, art works and history come alive. Since this was my 3rd visit to Versailles I enjoyed seeing the grounds by bike (even though it was a cloudy day and the gardens were not in bloom), but felt a little bad when our time at the Palace was cut short due to the length of the ride. The Opera Garnier was beyond imagination in decor. A special treat was seeing the outside and inside renovation of Notre Dame combined with Sainte Chapelle - our guide was able to go in with us, again a plus for having a private tour. Oh yes....and we all came home smelling very French!

Hotel Review
Citadines Trocadéro Paris
Paris

We had 2 rooms for the 5 of us. The 2 teenagers enjoyed having their own room as did the 3 adults. The adult room had a sitting room with a twin sofa bed (very comfortable) and one bedroom with a double bed ( it would have been nice to have 2 single beds instead). As you would expect, the rooms were small but adequate. The kitchenette was nice for snacks and coffee. The hotel had a breakfast buffet but we did not partake. There was a nice bakery 2 doors down for morning pastries as we headed out early every morning. There was a nice restaurant next door plus small market just down the street. The neighborhood was very welcoming and within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower, Arc of Triumph and Champs-Elysees and close to 2 metro stations. We found taking an Uber or taxi to get across town was expensive since we were about 3 miles from the Louvre area where a lot of our activities took place so walking and the metro were our favorite modes of transportation!

Authenticity & Character
Older hotel with small lobby and nice sitting room with fireplace. Breakfast buffet was extra. Very nice courtyard and patio if we had had time to enjoy it!
Location
The walkable and local neighborhood. We did not have a view from the hotel but loved having the Eiffel Tower as our landmark especially at night.
Staff
Friendly and available to give directions.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Rooms were clean, bathroom/shower was nice. Extra towels were readily available. Would have been a little tight with 4 in the one room with the one bedroom and sitting room with the twin sofa bed.

When we landed on the soils of “The Mother City” we were greeted by the KimKim team to welcome us to “The Motherland” and to make sure we had access to transportation that got us to our first destination in Cape Town. The small touches of wine and treats really made this a special time to celebrate our milestone birthdays. What a beautiful couple of days we would have exploring CT, Robben Island, and Table Mountain. Before heading off to Hoedspruit, where we would then stay at Unembeza and tour the panorama views of with Titus who was great. The lodge where we stayed was other worldly — we never expected waking up to a giraffe right outside of our bedroom window, we didn’t anticipate the views of the African Sky, and the delicious meals we had cooked and prepared for us daily. It was the true essence of being cared for. And our tour guide for the panorama views was exceptional we think he was an actual historian or professor shadowing moonlighting as a tour guide. Titus was so knowledgeable and impressive with his info sharing. It was intoxicating the amount of knowledge he shared about the views, the history of the land, and the people and villages we passed. It was like being on a private tour of some of the most hidden gems of South Africa. Again, the lodge and Nokuthula had delightful small touches to make us feel special.

Then we were off to the Bush for Safari which was STUNNING to say the least. We did have a small issue with our housing (please prepare for camp style living if you are going on safari) after we were upgraded to the suites housing got better thanks to Nokuthula. But other than that the public amenities of our safari lodge was warm, comfortable, and tasty food. Our safari guide Michaela and watcher were I think the best. We got to see ALL of the BIG 5 during our (4 nights 5 day safari). Low key we didn’t want to leave the once in a lifetime views and animal crossing but had to be on our way to Johannesburg which was part of the tour that we planned ourselves in terms of excursions. Yet the parts that KimKim planned was exactly what we needed.

If you’ve never been to the Mother Land I urge you to Go!! But most importantly if you’re looking for talented individuals who actually live on the continent to help your planning you must start with the talents of KimKim and Nokuthula. We will certainly return to now one of our favorite places on EARTH South Africa and it’s largely due to the time we had during this our first journey home.

Wow — thank you so much for this beautiful message! I’m truly touched by your words and so happy to hear that your journey through South Africa was everything you’d hoped for (and more!). From the breathtaking views and unforgettable wildlife moments to the small touches that made you feel cared for — it was such a joy to help create this experience for your milestone celebration. I’ll be sure to pass your kind words along to Titus and the rest of the team.

We can’t wait to welcome you back to the Motherland someday soon!

Our driver Eric was great. Punctual, personable, and able to navigate the chaos they call traffic with ease.

Victor was personable, knowledgable, informative, and willing to tailor our outings to our wishes.

Carlos knew the area well and obviously had a real connection to it as he provided information about El Valle de Anton.

I enjoyed the trip through the locks a great deal. It was fascinating to watch the operation.

The accommodations were all nice. Though John and Sharon were stuck on the second floor of the Playa Bonita with a very obstructed view. It would have been much better had they been up on the 16th floor near us with a clear view of the canal entrance.

The trip excursions were all enjoyable and provided a wide range of experiences and different areas of Panama.

The only thing that might have assisted us and provided a better journey was more clear descriptions of what we would be doing. There were times where we were uncertain if we would need to bring our swim wear or not.

Overall, a very nice trip that was efficient in connections, informative as to the area, and very enjoyable.

Regards
Ken
